Slovenly is a word I find myself using quite a bit at the moment. Slovenly is what I think of anybody who leaves a message here about an article and fails to provide a wikilink to the article. How do you expect me to read the article if you don't link to it? Even if the article has been deleted, you should still link to it.
I reserve the right to ignore any message which does not provide links where appropriate, has no heading, is in the wrong place on this page or has not been signed with ~~~~.
And if that sounds like a grumpy old man, it's because I am ...

Could you please explain to me which speedy deletion criteria you used for deleting this image? Your edit summary of "replaced by png" is not very helpful in this regard. Thank you, Aspects (talk) 03:45, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
- For goodness sake! Within the context, surely it was patently obvious that the message meant: replaced by File:QueenSnowWhite.png. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:46, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
You still did not answer my question of which speedy deletion criteria you used for deleting the image. Aspects (talk) 10:06, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
- OK pedant, F1 is not applicable because different format. Surely G6 is applicable? If you see some potential controversy, please raise the matter at DRV but be sure to add this, this and this image. Also have a word with Niemti (talk · contribs) who applied the speedy tags to all four of these images. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:32, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
- But never mind what I did, let us move forward - when I encounter a case like this in the future, what deletion reason do you want me to give? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:08, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
Speedy deletions only cover the cases specified and G6 would not apply because this is not uncontroversial maintenance. If you encounter a case like this in the future of, you should decline the speedy deletion because it does not fit any of the requirements and advise the nominator about taking the image to Wikipedia:Files for deletion or the image could be tagged as being orphaned, F5, and the image could be deleted after seven days, but it would at least have time for other editors to notice and comment on the image.
In this case, Niemti and I were having a content dispute about whether a jpg screenshot, File:QueenSnowWhite.jpg, or a png third-party illustration, File:Evil Queen Grimhilde.png, should be used in the infobox at Queen Grimhilde. It looks like (since I cannot tell) that Niemti uploaded a new (different) jpg image on top of the previous (original) jpg image, then uploaded the same new (different) png image at File:QueenSnowWhite.png, incorrectly speedy tagged the new (different) jpg image as WP:SPEEDY#F1 and you deleted it since it looked the same. In my opinion, Niemti is gaming the system and requesting the speedy deletion in bad faith, also because it looks like Niemti failed to notify the original uploader of the speedy deletion. You should reverse your deletion of all four images, contact Niemti about incorrectly speedy deletion tagging and in the future you should include in your edit summary a link to which criteria you used to delete the image like I have seen most other admin do. If necessary, I guess I can take them all to DRV, but I feel this is something that should be handled by you since it could be a pattern of bad editing by Niemti. Aspects (talk) 15:19, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
- Why did you not raise your concerns about Niemti gaming the system in your first message? You would have received a more sympathetic response and it would have saved time for both of us. I have restored File:QueenSnowWhite.jpg to its pre-Niemti state. I see nothing wrong with the history of the other three images. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:24, 9 November 2013 (UTC)

Technology business management review
Good afternoon, RHaworth, back in August you deleted technology business management. I have since rewritten the article and posted it to my sandbox here: User:Shswanson/sandbox. Can you take a look and let me know if you feel like this new content falls into compliance? And if not, do you mind providing some feedback? This is a page that I plan to build on over time, just want to ensure it is compliant in the mean time. Appreciate your help. Shswanson (talk) 00:48, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
- Still seems spammy and I suspect you have a COI but if you want to force it in, submit via AfC. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:29, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
The Wythe/The Wrythe stupidity
You're going to laugh at this: I have just managed to forget that by moving without a redirect I am effectively removing any edit conflict, which would tell me that the article has been moved and thus my revision appears as a new article. (I asked it to be moved without a redirect as I had believed it to be an implausible typo.) The result? There are now duplicate articles. Could you perform a histmerge please?--Launchballer 13:27, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
- In any case you were wrong to request move without redirect because these two edits were needed. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:08, 9 November 2013 (UTC)

Hello RHaworth, Can you please explain to me why you have deleted the article Dr. Rana. Thank you. Qureshi.ar — Preceding unsigned comment added by Qureshi.ar (talk • contribs) 18:31, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
- Tell me what the deletion log entry says and then tell me which words do you not understand. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:02, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
I'm afraid you didn't read the information provided with the request. "Only a bot log and two IP user talk page warnings link here." Apart from the aforementioned, all the hits from "What links here" are false positives, the vast majority through {{Game theory}}. I know because I went through the whole list. Regards Paradoctor (talk) 21:26, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
- I know perfectly well that usages via a template take time to drop off. But is there some urgency to delete it? Why cannot we wait until they have disappeared from the what links here report. More importantly, we need to wait until the page is being viewed less than, say, twice a day - see current page view counts. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:37, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
I speedied it because I see no use in an AfD, not because I dread the WP:DEADLINE. ;) But why did you remove the tag, then, instead of simply waiting? Paradoctor (talk) 23:27, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
- Removed what tag? Instead of simply waiting for what? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:48, 9 November 2013 (UTC)
"What tag?": Sorry, I meant the CSD template. "Waiting for what?": "until the page is being viewed less than, say, twice a day", see above. Paradoctor (talk) 01:13, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
- I still don't understand. Let me spell it out slowly: I think that the redirect at Centipede game (game theory) should be kept. Therefore I had to remove the CSD tag to take the page out of CAT:CSD and to remove it from the sight of other admins who might have different views. Having done that, we simply wait until the page view statistics fall to a suitably low level. Were you suggesting some different action? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:36, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
I do now. Please compare this and this. If you see what I see, you should see that the redirect has more traffic than the target. Obviously, the statistics are bogus in this case. The only other evidence for traffic is the list of incoming links, which tells us that there should be no longer any significant traffic. Paradoctor (talk) 23:22, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
- I see no reason to dismiss the statistics as bogus. Bear in mind that if the article has been reached via the redirect at centipede game (game_theory) then that access will not add to the counts for centipede game. The traffic stats for the redirect do not seem to be dropping much but certainly we see a steady build up of the stats for the direct access. Let us see how they change over the next few months. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:18, 14 November 2013 (UTC)
I saw your edit summary saying that the template is still in use and unspeedy. As such, I edited pages that transcluded the template. See Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Emperors of Xia. The template is no longer in use. Thus it now meets the criteria for speedy deletion. --HYH.124 (talk) 06:59, 10 November 2013 (UTC)

Niall Sheehy (actor, singer)
Hi RHaworth, You may be interested in glancing at this Niall Sheehy (actor, singer) page. You had warned the creator yesterday for 'over writing' the footballers page. Do we allow page names like this or should it be ... (entertainer). Are they notable enough even? Regards, 220 of Borg 07:55, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
- I have no strong feelings about whether the disambiguator should be "(actor, singer)" or "(entertainer)". Deletion discussion started. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:36, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
Deletion of Blanche Gaston
You deleted Blanche Gaston under WP:CSD#A7. A user (I believe the creator of the article) has inquired about this at the Help desk which led me to read the deleted text. While the article did not establish notability fully, it seems to me that the statement that the subject had written a book which "go on to become one of the forerunners in the self esteem movement" and that the subject was "the first African American to have a book approved for instruction in those school systems." constitute claims of significance. Perhaps you would like to reconsider this deletion? DES (talk) 18:55, 10 November 2013 (UTC)

Temple Beth El
I am the owner of those images. I also used them on my blog and my Google + account, but they are mine. I took those pictures with MY camera and so I am the rightful owner of those images. The image of the exterior of Temple Beth El was also featured BY ME in a blog posting I created on the Times of Israel website and the image of the sign near the entrance of Temple Beth El is from my Google+ photo album. I didn't violate copyright. Those are both my images. You should not have deleted them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rtfagan (talk • contribs) 16:47, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
- Count yourself lucky I am condescending to talk to you after the way that you shouted at me. File:Temple Beth El exterior.jpg was hopelessly out of focus. Do not even think about uploading it again - go out and take a decent version of the subject. As to File:Tblsign.jpg - go to your album page and add a statement that the image is licensed under {{cc-by-sa-3.0}}. Make sure you point out the licence notice when you re-upload the image to the Commons. Meditation
I'm surprised and sad of finding out that this is the way things work out in Wikipedia. I thought it was a community where things are discussed and agreed after an open conversation. I've been adapting the article following the advises and guidelines that were being posted, adding references and changing the style of the article in order to follow your requests. I could even have erased it by my own if we had agreed to that point, but the article has been deleted in less than 10 hours without having had the chance to discuss about it. Besides, the reasons to do so, are unfair and not true at all. If the event had not happened yet, it would have not been published by dozens of art magazines (as it's posted in external links), it would not be followed by the New York Times and it would surely not have more than a thousand followers in FB. Besides, after 5 years, this is the XII Edition of Meditation Retreats that the Organization carries out with hundreds of young leaders from all around the world taking part in them. It's just the First Artistic Edition, but we surely don't seek for commercial promotion at all, since we are a NGO that just tries to spread a message of peace and tolerance, which sadly seems not have place in wikipedia according to some users' criteria. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kno ho (talk • contribs) 10:06, 12 November 2013 (UTC)
- I do not see a link to the article in question within the first couple of lines, so I treat the rest as waffle. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:14, 12 November 2013 (UTC)
Of course, instead of letting it know in order to be fixed, it's better just to erase it in few hours without any justification or explanation at all and call waffle my writing, my work and the Project of hundreds people that work towards a better world. Definitely, this is not the criteria and ways I expected from Wikipedia and it's really sad to find out this is how things work out here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kno ho (talk • contribs) 10:22, 12 November 2013 (UTC)
- Did you actually read my message? I might be willing to discuss but until you manage to provide a link to the article, I am going to be bolshie and refuse. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:27, 12 November 2013 (UTC)
There were 10 links with references. 1st one is the FB page to show that it has almost 1200 followers, second is a video that I consider relevant to understand the Project, 3rd is the website of the Program and the other 7 are links to articles that talk about the Project.
- I simply do not believe it! Do you understand English? There are more than four million articles here - why do I have to guess which article you are talking about? Do you understand or are you so wrapped up in your project that you forget that there may be other articles in Wikipedia? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:35, 12 November 2013 (UTC)
Well, I don't know how many articles you erase per minute, because I posted my message just few minutes after you erase my article (Meditation Artistic Retreat) and it's the only one I've written, therefore I didn't expect you to be asking about it since I thought it was clear and, besides, I could not provide a link from an article that has been deleted already (it used to be hosted here: Meditation artistic retreat). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kno ho (talk • contribs) 10:40, 12 November 2013 (UTC)
- Kno ho: Please learn wikilinks. How could that possibly have been gathered from your messages?
- RHaworth: The word is 'Bolshie', it's capitalised. Please delete Talk:Meditation artistic retreat as well, I've already tagged it.--Launchballer 10:47, 12 November 2013 (UTC)

- Wikipedia is not the place for you to publicize a particular event or organization. It's that simple. We make no distinction between profit or non-profit. Meshparts
The article was not about an organization or company, but about a finite element software package with that name. The Meshparts software is also included in the list of finite element software packages. I think it is worth being mentioned there since it is a finite element software and also, the first and single software to provide component-oriented finite element modeling for the time being. You may argue that the quality of the article was improvable, and that I could understand and try to make it better if you give me the chance. — Ndmohn (talk) 11:04, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
- Kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no COI thinks your software is notable and writes about it here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:13, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
- None the less, articles about software are not subject to A7 speedy deletion, nor is COI a valid speedy deletion criterion. The version you deleted was somewhat promotional, but I think not enough for speedy deletion on that ground. Please reconsider this one. DES (talk) 20:54, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
- I do think it was promotional enough for deletion as spam. But if you disagree, I have no objection to your restoring it. Make sure that independent references are added pdq (or that you userfy it). — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:09, 13 November 2013 (UTC)

Question - public domain
How can I check whether image that I am uploading on Commons, it is in public domain or not? Are these images in public domain? (Note: these people have died): 1 2 3 4. Should I upload them on Commons? --FSCEM45212 (talk) 04:39, 14 November 2013 (UTC)
- Please tell me which bit of my advice here you do not understand. It makes very little no difference whether the subject of an image is alive or dead. Give me links to the page/s which use these images. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:17, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
- Please look at the four pages you have now cited. For each one, look carefully to see if it contains something that might be a copyright notice, decide for yourself whether it is a public domain release then tell me your conclusions. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:18, 14 November 2013 (UTC)
Permission Question
A few days ago, I got permission from a web page admin to use his images on Wikipedia and Commons. He gave me permission. Link for that webpage is [1]. Now, you just tell me that what should I do to upload these images on Commons. I mean, how should I assure you that webpage admin gave me permission to use his images. --FSCEM45212 (talk) 07:08, 14 November 2013 (UTC)

Hi RHaworth. I was just in the process of adding a reference to this article when you deleted it. Would you be willing to restore it, or be agreeable to me restoring it? I'm not here to contest the deletion of this page, so much as for some dab advice. As you saw it, with only two links and one of those a redlink, I am not surprised it looked like an "obviously unnecessary" dab. The reason for creating the page can be found on Talk:Jovan_Deretić#Ambiguity. My question is this: where there is real-world ambiguity (as between Jovan Deretic the nationalist and Jovan Deretic the scholar) but not on-wiki ambiguity (as no-one has started and article about Jovan Deretic the scholar), are there any on-wiki steps that need to be taken? Should I just have let Jovan Deretic the scholar "fend for himself," as it were? Thanks. --Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 20:00, 13 November 2013 (UTC)

Castlerahan
Why are so insistent on deleting the article on Castlerahan GFC? This club is as entitled to an article as the many hundreds (perhaps maybe more than 1000) other GAA clubs. If you understand the GAA as an organization, it's structure is the local parish club playing in its own county championships. Please revert this deletion. — Pmunited (talk) 22:33, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
- We have detailed notability criteria for sports people but I cannot find any for sports clubs. "Parish club playing in its own county championships" is scarcely an assertion of notability and the article made no attempt to provide evidence of notability. Best I can suggest is that you take it to deletion review. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:53, 13 November 2013 (UTC)

- Which words in the deletion log entry do you not understand? I should be discouraging you from contributing because of your COI but I will point out: a) why are you fussing when you still have your AfC version?, b) an article totally devoid of independent references stands very little chance of survival, c) why not start with a single paragraph in the Royal Jubilee Hospital article and see if other people expand it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:18, 14 November 2013 (UTC)
Michael Newton
Michael Newton (hypnotist). I got to this a bit late, but could you undelete the article please. This article has been around since 2008 and had gone through an original notability discussion. One third party reference is that in 2001 he was a winner of the annual Independent Publishers Book Award for Destiny of Souls. He has also been on many TV and radio talk shows. Some of these interview recordings can be found online. I think this should suffice. — AlexGWU (talk) 00:34, 15 November 2013 (UTC)
- How is it that even after 4000 edits you have not learnt that new messages go at the bottom of a talk page and that when you talk about an article you provide a link to it? Also, please give me a link to this alleged "original notability discussion". Notwithstanding, I have restored it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 01:49, 15 November 2013 (UTC)

- Also after 4000 edits you should have learnt: a) how to create wikilinks and b) that admins can view deleted edits so even if the original discussion is gone, you should still provide a link to it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:51, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
BTW thanks for the restore. I already referred you to the relative link "deletion notice" which clarifies there was a deletion request early in 2008 and the article survived it. uhmmm....Did you miss that? Also if you want to you can dig deeper yourself. I am not going to sweat the small stuff; the point was already made. Finally, given the fluid nature of Wikipedia the article's future is now questionable, because the independent ref. which established notability for the article was itself recently removed from wiki. It seems to me these two should also be deleted. — Debresser (talk) 01:21, 15 November 2013 (UTC)

Dope D.O.D.
You deleted the whole page on this band. With the reason being: "Article about a band, singer, musician, or musical ensemble, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject". I think this is ridiculous because much more obscure and less important bands have been allowed. Dope D.O.D. are a large and pretty well know hip hop band, their biggest hit having more than 12 million views on Youtube. They are one of the few bands to successfully combine bass-heavy EDM and hiphop. If that doesn't indicate importance, then you might as well delete Death Grips. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.84.11.75 (talk) 13:38, 15 November 2013 (UTC)

- Yawn. Very sorry - I have an underwhelming interest in this matter. Why don't you speak to people who actually contribute to articles about Bollywood movies? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:51, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
Your assistance please
You deleted Yassir al-Jazeeri, leaving a notation in the deletion log that it was a "Redirect to a deleted or non-existent page". I don't know a way to figure out the name of the article it had once redirected to, or on what basis the redirect target was deleted. Could you please, either: 1) tell me the name of the article it redirected to or 2) give me a link to where any discussion over deleting the redirect target. If you were the administrator who deleted the redirect target could you please userify it for me? I'll look here for the name of userified article. Talk page too please. Thanks Geo Swan (talk) 23:22, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) It was a redirect to Adil al-Jazeeri, you originally created it as a redirect to that page. GB fan 23:39, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
- One way of figuring out the target of the redirect would be to search your memory. Yassir al-Jazeeri was created by you on 2009-06-22 02:43:55 as a redirect to Adil al-Jazeeri. As you can see from the deletion / move log for that page it was deleted after an AfD and then restored and userfied. Eleven days later you requested deletion of the userfied article. Do you now want me to restore User:Geo Swan/Adil al-Jazeeri? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:51, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
Excuse me, are you suggesting I should be able to remember creating this redirect -- over four years ago?
I am one of the wikipedia's most prolific contributors, and have started thousands of articles and a comparable number of redirects.
Your talk page stalker helped me find some of the history. I've determined that User:Sherurcij started the original article. Geo Swan (talk) 21:14, 17 November 2013 (UTC)

Biraj Bhatta
Hi there, can you please restore Biraj Bhatta article as I need to add more notability references and he is genuine actor of Nepal. Thanks Ashishlohorung (talk) 11:37, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
- A Google search suggests that the guy is notable. So how come four attempts have failed to create a decent article? Restored to User:Ashishlohorung/Biraj Bhatta. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:53, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
Sex Drugs and HIV
Hi there, just wondered if you could assist on getting the Sex Drugs and HIV site back. I understand there is something wrong or not enough information has been given about the page. As the page is no longer there I cannot see exactly what is lacking or wrong with the page. Any info & help would be greatly appreciated as the page promotes 4 main charity's;- Terrence Higgins Trust, Rape Crisis, Release, Cancer Research. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.47.211.200 (talk) 12:30, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

SAY Media Group
Hi, I can't find the message I wrote to you so I am waiting again just in case. I created an entry for SAY Media Group. The purpose is solely informational but it was deleted for being commercial. Can you kindly assist in letting me know what sections were misconstrued as commercial so that I can amend it and re-post? Thanks, MayaNix (talk) 13:24, 18 November 2013 (UTC)MayaNix
- Definitely time for a pure Victor Meldrew "I don't believe it". Please look at this state of this page. Is it really possible that you cannot see your message twice? As to your submission - kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no COI thinks your company is notable and writes about it here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 14:30, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
Scia Engineer
Hi RHaworth, I'm wondering about the reason for deleting my very first contribution of the Scia Engineer line here? Just starting up with Wikipedia and I'm eager to learn and contribute. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cisse61 (talk • contribs) 13:57, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
- Please see what follows "kindly" in my message immediately above. "List of" articles are normally restricted to entries which have Wikipedia articles about them. If your current AfC submission is accepted then addition of a link to it from the list of article will be uncontroversial. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 14:30, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
Can I ask exactly why this page has been deleted. Although the page may have been put up by a redlink contributor - the subject matter, a recording project which took over fifteen years to complete, is about the work done by over two hundred named musicians - most of whom are blue linked. The project has importance and interest because nothing as far-reaching as this has never been done. If there are edits which would enable this page to be reinstated then this is something I would like to explore. — MaxLondon (talk) 15:10, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
- If it is as notable as you claim, how come there is not a shred of independent evidence provided in the article? Even Launchballer (talk · contribs), who is usually inclusionist over music articles, thinks it should go. Restored to User:MaxLondon/Sex Drugs and HIV. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:33, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
- I wonder why I didn't receive a notification for this? Anyway, I'm not exactly an inclusionist, I just work on articles which pass WP:MUSICBIO, and I can't see anything on this album which indicates notability of it. In addition, it was a borderline WP:TNT case.--Launchballer 14:19, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
I have started clean-up edits and added references on this page and hope that now the page can be reinstated. MaxLondon (talk) 19:06, 18 November 2013 (UTC)

Deletion of NewsWatch TV
Hi Roger, On 17:41, 22 October 2013 you deleted NewsWatch TV for G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion. NewsWatch is a news television show that has been around for over 20 years and can be seen Nationwide in the United States on 3 major networks (History Channel, Bio Channel, ION Network), and has been on Wikipedia for probably close to 6-7 years (not 100% certain of the exact amount of years but close to that number). Can this site be restored. If there is anything that needs to be changed in the article because a user has added not credible information I would be more than happy to do so. Thanks! Syed Riyaz ud din Hyder Jaffery
Hi, My name is Mir Aftab Ali and I hail from Hyderabad, India. I am a practicing Shia Imamia Ithna Ashari Akhbari and I wanted to know the reasons the webpage on one of the Shia Islamic scholars Syed Riyaz ud din Hyder Jaffery was removed from the database. If you could kindly help me with the information which led to the deletion of his page then I can have the necessary changes made and If you deem it plausible and conforming with your guidelines, the page can be recreated. Also if you could provide the information which was on his page before it was deleted, it will help me make update the information.
In anticipation of your reply, Your Thankfully, Aftab Miraftaabali (talk) 14:18, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- (stalking) I'll save RHaworth some time .... as it says right at the top of the page, "How do you expect me to read the article if you don't link to it? Even if the article has been deleted, you should still link to it." Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 17:56, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- In fact I am feeling kind in this case mainly because I see no COI and Aftab did get the title exactly right. There have been two versions of this article. The entire content of the first by Akhbariyat (talk · contribs) was:
- Prominent Akhbari Scholar In India (Page Under Construction)
- and the entire content of the second was:
- Prominent akhbari scholar'Bold text'

Speed Dial 7
Hello, You deleted my article about Speed Dial 7. Can you provide information why? All this information is accurate and I don't understand what exactly I did wrong. Thanks Kimberly — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kimberlydebock (talk • contribs) 20:43, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- Which part of the deletion log entry do you not understand? If you cannot be bothered to provide decently formatted references, why should I bother to read them? Barefoot Music Page
Hi there, Can you please explain to me why you deleted the Barefoot Music page. I do believe the page was structurally correct, from what I can tell. And I do not understand why the validity of the organization would be questioned. I provided these details:
"This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... This page is about a music composition company located in Los Angeles that has been working for over a decade doing the complete score and title themes for important pop culture shows - including: Project Runway, Top Chef, Real Housewives, and more. Barefoot Music has also worked with big name companies such as CNN, NBC, HP, Dell, etc. It is important for the company to have a Wikipedia page as a place to host a detailed history -- and connect Barefoot Music, in an online informative setting, to the many collaborators and connections on the internet and on Wikipedia."
Thank you for the further information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Liammccormack (talk • contribs) 21:05, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- Please read the sentence in the previous section which begins with "kindly". It also applies to you. The article contained two external links: one was to YouTube which is not usually reckoned a reliable source and in any case the clip did not mention your company and the other was to an article in Variety which again did not even mention your company. But why are you fussing? Don't be impatient - submit your AfC version and see what happens. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 00:23, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
Thought you'd be interested to know: it's the name of a musician. I had searched Google News before making the redirect, and hadn't found anything then. When I searched again now, http://www.hotnewhiphop.com/cannible901/profile/ came up. I've asked to have the redirect deleted. — rybec 05:19, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

Hello, RHaworth. Another administrator, Soumyasch, deleted Aiden Dillard; could you please restore it to User:Launchballer/Aiden Dillard because he directed Meat Weed Madness? Soumyasch, despite stating that he is 'almost retired', he is clearly fully retired as he has not edited in over six months. Thank you.--Launchballer 13:57, 20 November 2013 (UTC)

User:Jodiemcneill
Hello, Sorry, I'm really new to this Wikipedia thing, but I read that I had to create something on my page to declare my COI, which I did, but it's now been deleted as being 'Blatant Advertising'. How do I declare potential COI by stating my role in an organisation without it being deleted? Jodiemcneill (talk) 22:39, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
- I have to agree with you. Page restored. I insist that any user should be allowed an external link to their personal website - otherwise my own user page might be come under attack! A user page should be in the first person - third person looks stilted and may be one reason that your page was tagged for deletion. A user page should also state what you do do on Wikipedia.
- I ask Uncle Milty (talk · contribs), if you are still not happy with the page: a) change its content or, if that is not enough for you, b) take it to MfD. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 14:15, 21 November 2013 (UTC)
- I apologize. More than 99% of the time when a new user makes that first edit and it's to create a user page with an external link, that link is a spam link. I got this one wrong. I didn't delete the page, but merely flagged it for further review by administrators. I meant no harm and did not intend to alarm a new user who joined WP with good intentions. --| Uncle Milty | talk | 14:27, 21 November 2013 (UTC)
- Actually, I too should apologise for mindlessly following Uncle Milty's suggestion without reviewing it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:33, 21 November 2013 (UTC)
Emir & Frozen Camels
Several time I tried to create Wikipedia page for very famous band Emir & Frozen Camels but I guess I did something wrong. I really don't know what I did wrong but I'm asking you to help me, because this band deserve to be on Wikipedia, really. Band just received Wikipedia from Turkvizyon song contest director asking bend how can he find Emir & Frozen Camels on Wikipedia to connect their Wikipedia info and page with bend's. But we didn't know what's answer and what to answer them. This is their Wikipedia page and as you see they mentioned Emir & Frozen Camels band but under name of band there is no link, unfortunately: Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Türkvizyon Song Contest. Also band is mentioned here: Türkvizyon 2013. Please, return us back article we put about band Emir & Frozen Camels here and you deleted or teach us how to put it on. It's very important to us. Thank you ahead, Nail Kunsa NailKunsa (talk) 23:13, 20 November 2013 (UTC)
- What on earth! Why are you giving me raw links to en.m.wikipedia.org when you should be using wikilinks? Don't tell me "under name of band there is no link" - create the link for goodness sake. What are you talking about when you say "several times" - you have made just one attempt and it has never been deleted. We would prefer you to wait until someone with no COI thinks the band is notable and writes about it but since you have created an AfC draft, submit it and see what happens. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:09, 21 November 2013 (UTC)

Birdback
Deleted page due to missing indication of importance or significance of the subject
Hi RHaworth,
Thanks for pointing out that I did something wrong with my new page. I have been using wikipedia a lot, but just recently started contributing. I noticed that one of the new pages I created was deleted for the reason (A7: Article about a company, corporation or organization, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject). Would be great if you could give me some advice on how to improve it and resubmit it. My thought was to do a new draft in my sandbox that can be reviewed. My question is how can I get back the original version of the page. Is it correct to use requests for undeletion in order to get the original content back so I can do a new draft in my sandbox or should I go about it differently.
