File:Theo Green.jpg deletion
Hí RHaworth, Thank you for deleting this image File:Theo Green.jpg and a previous attempt. I can see that I went about it the wrong way - I am going to try again with a different approach, modelled on the way others have successfully added similarly sourced images (eg. Christopher Nolan) - please contact me via talk page íf the approach i take is different or incorrect and I can try to correct it without the need for speedy deletion, hopefully. Thanks again Rumplestiltskin2009 (talk) 20:24, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
- I note that the two uploads you did could not have been cropped out of the image here because they are at higher resolution. But we do need to know how you got hold of an high res. version of an image created by "Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images North America". Yes, do follow the procedure used for File:Christopher Nolan, London, 2013.jpg. We will need an email to OTRS identifiably from Alberto Rodriguez. You may need to reveal your identity to the OTRS system but the information will go no further than OTRS and it is perfectly OK for you to use a pseudonym on Wikimedia sites. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:52, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for your helpful reply. Would the link to Green's image be a similar thing to Nolan's in that his image is linked to a small watermarked file, which the version here cannot be from? Here is a link to that image [1] Thanks again for your time Rumplestiltskin2009 (talk) 21:52, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
Uploaded a photo I took to Commons - nb looks similar but not the same - while I go through OTRS for the preferred pic. -- Rumplestiltskin2009 (talk) 02:49, 15 November 2014 (UTC)
- So pull your finger out and submit to OTRS. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:47, 15 November 2014 (UTC)
Pull my finger out? I'm waiting for two things, the email address of the photographer which is needed for the OTRS, and which I have to wait to obtain from getty, and your reply to the question above from (21:52, 14 November 2014) regarding linking to a watermarked image as the source. Rumplestiltskin2009 (talk) 19:38, 17 November 2014 (UTC)
- If you are not the photographer, I shall be very interested to know how you are so sure that the photographer will release the image under a CC licence. File:Theo Green.jpg, here on en: was deleted for being a copyvio from this page. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:04, 18 November 2014 (UTC)
I never said I was sure at all. I am just following your suggested procedure. Hopefully a similar arrangement to the Nolan example above or hundreds of similar images can be made with the photographer. Rumplestiltskin2009 (talk) 05:05, 19 November 2014 (UTC)
Can I get the text for a deleted article back?
Hello, A little while back you deleted my UTS ePress page. I was wondering if I could get the text back from you? I didn't have a backup of this and I would like to try rewriting it without using any text from the ePress website. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KarmaTZangpo (talk • contribs)

Séan Derrick Cooper Marquardt
Hello, dear Mister Roger W. Haworth, My name is Silva Wischeropp, and I was creating the page for the artist Sean Derrick Cooper Marquardt. I’m representing him and I’m also the photographer of two photographs of Sean Derrick Cooper Marquardt. My user name is Silva Wischeropp On 18 November 2014 you have deleted the page Draft:Séan Derrick Cooper Marquardt. The artist SDCMarquardt has a soundcloud page is named berlindolls please tell me, how can there be a copyright infringement ? All informations and links on the page are correct and if there are any links you feel that is a copyright infringement, then for sure, I will take them immediately off the draft page. After checking the draft page again, can you please tell me the mistakes or problems. Could you please put up the page once again. Thank You With best regards from Berlin Germany Silva Wischeropp — Preceding unsigned comment added by Silva Wischeropp (talk • contribs)
- Considering that you had done no less than 170 edits, the article was an insult to Wikipedia - no attempt to format to Wikipedia standards; absolutely no wikilinks; links to Wikipedia in external link format as references even though everybody knows that Wikipedia is not a reliable source. Hello Roger W Haworth, thank You for your answer. I understand the critic about the article about Sean Derrick Cooper Marquardt. Could you maybe please send me the text of the article to my private e-mail: It would be so great of You, if You are so kind to send this text to me, I didn't do an last update, sorry. But I don't want loose all this work, if you understand this. You think it give a new possibility to recreate the draftt page about SDCMarquardt, to get a second chance to work on it ? The 100 Greatest Christmas Hits of All Time
There is no reason to delete the entry for the 10 hour radio special The 100 Greatest Christmas Hits of All Time. One of several sources of data used in writing the entry was a public domain press release issued by the syndicator, Envision Networks, which was widely distributed for consumer and industry informational purposes and deliberately NOT copyrighted. I'd provide you with a wikilink to the "100 Greatest Christmas Hits of All Time" article but I can't as you have had it instantly deleted -- only 35 days before Christmas! Please restore the entry to Wikipedia. All the best, Horarwgt ---- Horarwgt (talk) 16:10, 21 November 2014 (UTC)
- Can't provide a wikilink - ridiculous statement. How do you know that I deleted the page? You followed a wikilink to it. Please read what I think of people who copy their own website and think they have created a Wikipedia article. The page was deleted because it made no attempt to demonstrate the notability of the programme. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:54, 22 November 2014 (UTC)

AFD/speedy recreation question
An idle question - Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Supernova (programming language) was closed by you as "speedy delete - author request" last year, the author seeming to have made the request within hours of the AfD. That article was recreated earlier this month; can it be speedied again for being a recreation of an AfD'd article without significant changes, or does the fact that the AfD wasn't closed as a result of any discussion prevent that?
I put it up for AfD a couple of days ago, but am wondering if I could save people's time and just speedy it, now. -- McGeddon (talk) 15:39, 24 November 2014 (UTC)

Hello I would like to inquire as to why the Mananz, wiki page was deleted. I strongly feel that there was sufficient content on there to satisfy criteria A7, G11.
There are numerous people on wiki with far less external links corroborating the notability of their works with existing approved pages. I would like to engage you to please re-evaluate the page and your decision to delete it. Thank you so much. I look forward to your feedback.

- That "we" together with your contributions history and the presence of Renephillips (talk · contribs) ring alarm bells - corporate accounts are simply forbidden and writing with COI is, to put it mildly, strongly deprecated. I cannot stop you reposting it but if you use AfC you may fare better. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:49, 2 December 2014 (UTC)
By "We", i was referring you, and I as Wikipedia contributors, nothing more. I understand and appreciate that in your role, you have numerous pages you need to scrutinize and validate. I appreciate that, however, i do believe that you got it wrong with your decision to delete the page. I do not understand your inference to corporate accounts, and do not see how it applies in this case... My hopes was that you could review the contents of the Wikipedia entry on its merits, which i do believe are plausible. My contribution history has slowed on account of you deleting the page. As contributor to Wikipedia both financial as a donor, and content contributor, why would i continue providing content if it will just be deleted, and the person who deletes shows no effort to even review the page and admit they are at fault. What confidence do i as contributor have to continue, when i create legitimate content and resources only for the content to be deleted, based on hurried assumptions. And rather than proactively looking for a solution you want me to jump through more hoops with the hoops of "faring better". I value your time, and am trying to engage with you in a positive fashion. And all you are doing is defensively trying to justify your position, rather than reviewing what has been put before you. Your handling of this is poor at best. — Thejeweler (talk) 03:35, 4 December 2014 (UTC)

Deleting the Post/Pop Records
Hi, can you let me know why you deleted this page? I saw this reference: A7. No indication of importance (individuals, animals, organizations, web content, events).
I believe there was enough in that article (that only went up in the last 24 hours)to justify this. A record label that is releasing high profile, million record selling acts, is surely significant enough to have a wikipedia page? All of this was explained within the article. A link to the website in question (postpoprecords.com) which was attached, would have given further evidence of this case. Let me know your reasoning behind this, and if legitimate record labels are no longer allowed on Wikipedia. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jedshepherd (talk • contribs) 16:26, 2 December 2014 (UTC)
3/21/2014 Update: I noticed you have gone back 24 hours after first deleting this page to delete the response the user gave me why he flagged it for speedy deletion. Is there a reason you are trying whitewash the reasoning? Surely it is better I know the exact reason (specifics) before you delete a legitimate page, that I worked hard on? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jedshepherd (talk • contribs) 11:23, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
- [Copied from talk:Post/Pop Records]. Hi! The question here is not whether the record label is legitimate or successful, but whether it is notable. Wikipedia only accepts articles about notable subjects. But, in Wikipedia's vocabulary, the word "notable" has a very special meaning. For Wikipedia, "notable" means "significantly covered in reliable independent sources" (please, see: WP:42). In other words, when creating an article about an organization or a company, you have to add references to reliable sources, so to prove that the subject is notable. Reliable sources are books, newspapers, trustworthy internet news portals, etc. The article you wrote only had a link to the record label's official web site, but that is not an independent source. In other words, the article did not contain any references to reliable, independent sources that significantly cover the subject. According to the WP:A7 policy, it is a standard procedure to perform a speedy deletion for articles about companies that do not explain why the company is important to be included into an encyclopedia. Your article did not contain any credible claim of significance, and so it was deleted. There is no prohibition to write the article again, but be sure to include references to reliable sources, or to include some kind of explanation why the company is important and significant. — Vanjagenije (talk) 18:45, 2 December 2014 (UTC)
- There is nothing sinister about the deletion of the talk page - I have reproduced the message above. But what was the point in keeping the page? You obviously have not read its content and no-one else is interested. If the text you have emboldened above and Vanjagenije's message do not tell you clearly why it was deleted then I cannot help you further. The shouted title is horrible. Kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no COI thinks your record label is notable and writes about it here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:02, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
The point in keeping the talk page - in answer to your question - was so I could see the comment that the User helpfully game me as to why it was flagged for speedy deletion. His response was clear, but this is the first time I read it after you deleted it within hours of it being posted. If you can not see why I would query this, then frankly I can not help you. I realise you intend to do a good job on wikipedia, and this is mostly a thankless task, but please give people enough time (more than a few hours) to respond, or even see the reasoning behind a deletion. I hope you try to have the decency to perform your self-appointed task in a way more conducive to discussion, rather than a points tally as noted on your page. I would appreciate you sending me the text back. Thanks. — Jedshepherd (talk) 14:40, 3 December 2014 (UTC)

Tshamoon bw.jp
Hello. Yes, I admit to being one of the newbies you like to school on the ways of Wikipedia. I had uploaded the image file:Tshamoon bw.jpg without the proper copyright notice by mistake. Since I could not find a way to delete the original image file, my admittedly clumsy workaround was to try to upload the same image with the proper copyright image. Thank you for deleting it, but I would still like to use the version with the proper Creative Commons license notice attached. I would appreciate it if you could reinstate that version. Best Regards, Phil Keys Pkeys1 (talk) 21:10, 5 December 2014 (UTC)
- Fair use is not allowed for images of living people. I see no evidence that file:Tshamoon bw.jpg might be available under a CC licence. In any case it is pathetically small - smaller than a standard Wikipedia thumbnail. Pull your finger out, work through Google image search, send a few emails. You need an image at least 800px in size and available under {{cc-by-sa-3.0}}. You then upload it to the Commons. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:15, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
Could you please unsalt the article? I have a pretty decent Draft over at Draft:Tsogo Sun that does not seem to be so promotional anymore. Thanks Avono (talk) 16:18, 6 December 2014 (UTC)
- Wait for a regular draft reviewer to accept it. If that happens unsalting will be uncontroversial. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:15, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
- Dear RHaworth, I am the author of this draft about Tsogo Sun. Could you please explain, who should be considered as a regular draft reviewer? Avono is a participant of the AfC Project (see the list of active reviewers). Is it not enough to accept the page? This draft has already been checked by two other wiki admins, who participated in the deletion discussion this summer. They suggested some edits and I included them in my draft. Then I asked Avono to make an independent review (there is no history known to possibly add bias). — Alexandra Goncharik -sms- 14:17, 8 December 2014 (UTC)

Donetsk People's Republic
You do realise that coat of arms of the Donetsk People's Republic was declined for speedy twice before you deleted it? I declined it for A10 with the summary "Declining speedy. Not eligible under A10. Although very short, the page gives at least two pieces of information not in main article; the date of adoption and an image of the former heraldry" and I would still maintain that makes it not eligible for A10. SpinningSpark 08:56, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
- Why just Donetsk? I have deleted at least two other similar pages. The two factoids you quote are simply not grounds for keeping the article - why cannot they be copied to the main article? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:50, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
Very possibly they should be in the main article, but that's not the point. Speedy deletion is not for deletion of potentially encyclopaedic information and you are undoing the decision of a fellow admin. Merging does not usually involve deletion and there is an attribution issue here if that were done. I have no idea about the other pages you have deleted, I'm sure you already know that other shit exists, but perhaps you might want to revisist those pages as well. Perserang Serang
Hi, I saw that you deleted the page Perserang Serang in 2010 because of hoax as a reason. Today they just got promoted to the Liga Indonesia Premier Division, the second-tier of football league in Indonesia. Could you recreate again the article? Cheers!! - Emailed - enjoy. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:42, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
Hi, what should I do with the email? It shows the deleted page I suppose but how can I make the article again? I click on the red link article Perserang Serang but it doesn’t have an edit box. MbahGondrong (talk) 22:51, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
- Create the article via AfC. If your draft is accepted (be prepared to wait weeks!) then unprotection will be uncontroversial. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:55, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
I can't even create it with AfC. It says 'This page is currently protected so that only administrators can create it.'. What should I do now? Actually somebody already made a page Perserang Serang (Indonesia football club), maybe the page name could be changed without the '(Indonesia football club)' words. MbahGondrong (talk) 18:36, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
- On this page where you are offered two options: "create a new article draft" and "create a new article directly". Surely it was obvious to you that if the second option did not work, then you should try the first one! But it is not needed - I have moved Perserang Serang (Indonesia football club). — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:04, 10 December 2014 (UTC)

Your deletion Nov 16 of Morse repeater gif
Roger, when you deleted the File:Morse Telegraph Repeater Circuit.gif because it duplicated another file, did you update the links to the deleted file so that the links now point to the file in favor of which you made the deletion? I'm uncertain how to find them to check, so could you please make sure that you left no "orphans" hanging in limbo -- Thank you. PraeceptorIP (talk) 19:55, 10 December 2014 (UTC)

Crane Operators
Hi, RHaworth. I noticed that you removed the Wikipedia article about the nonprofit organization National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators. I'm not sure how an article about a nonprofit can be tagged as promotional/spam, but most importantly I'd like to get the most recent text from the article. I had updated it online but didn't expect it to be deleted so I hadn't made a backup. Please send to <redacted>. Thank you, Paulsnappro (talk) 17:22, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
- I am not sure why you think that being non-profit should exempt an article from being spammy. Text emailed. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:53, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
Do you have suggestions for who might help rewrite this article? — Paulsnappro (talk) via email
- NCCCO seems like a yawn-inducingly boring subject. With your COI you should not be writing about it. It was promotional because it was clearly an article by the organisation rather than an one about it. Amazingly, despite 100 edits you had not provided any independent evidence of notability. Do I have any suggestions? Cheeky question - do your own research! Find articles here about comparable organisations. Contact their authors - most will say "NCCCO - never heard of it". But you might straike lucky. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:16, 12 December 2014 (UTC)

Possible fair use justification
I was trying to upload file:North_Avenue_Market.jpeg of the North Avenue Market (Baltimore, Maryland). The Market ran from 1928-1972, so I cannot find a photograph of it that is clearly in the public domain, or with a CC license. The closest I got was a photo placed on Flickr by a local archive with with a CC-By-NC-ND license. The image I uploaded to Wikipedia was a lower resolution version of the image on Flickr, and I provided a fair use justification based on the unlikelyhood of finding anything in the public domain because of the dates the market was in operation. Is there anything else I could do to make a stronger fair use argument, maybe uploading and even lower res version of the photo? Or is this fair use argument not strong enough regardless? Thanks, Mshochet (talk) 17:59, 12 December 2014 (UTC)
- You gave a proper wikilink to the article - why not to the image as well? I did hesitate for a moment over this deletion but unfortunately you shot yourself in the foot - read this. Try again using {{non-free historic image}}. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:58, 12 December 2014 (UTC)

cdv Software deleted page
Hi, why did you speedily delete Cdv Software Entertainment? It is a notable studio, with several links to it from other Wikipedia articles. Silvrous Talk 22:29, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- If it is notable, how is it that in the nine years that the article had been around no-one had expanded it beyond a stub or added evidence of notability? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:57, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- I can see that the page was indeed a stub, but I think its subject is notable, seeing as it was a studio that produced a number of notable software titles, with their own pages, and still has a much more developed entry on the German Wikipedia. Even as a stub, the claim of significance as a publisher of videogames should be enough to make a speedy deletion under A7 invalid, at the very least this should have been discussed. Silvrous Talk 23:32, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- What claim of significance? But I have restored it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:46, 14 December 2014 (UTC)

Lawrence F Jindra deletion
Hello, you recently deleted a biography that I wrote, Draft:Lawrence F. Jindra, MD, claiming that it was promotional. This biography had been reviewed by at least 3 other editors and I made all of the changes that they requested but not one of them said anything about it being promotional in nature. I also requested feedback and help to which I got no response. I believe I should have been given an opportunity to continue working on the biography based on some clear, constructive criticism. Simply deleting something that I worked very hard on is quite frustrating. Kimvale1025 (talk) 16:50, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
- The last state of the page contained about 2 kbytes of feedback of which you have followed very little. Which of your references were "links to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources"? But it does not matter - kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no COI thinks the guy (you?) is notable and writes about him here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 17:30, 15 December 2014 (UTC)

Ajm95 unblock
Ajm95 (talk · contribs) - this user's explanation seemed pretty plausible; the subject (Connor Franta) did indirectly suggest that someone should create a Wikipedia page about him, and has several million Twitter subscribers. The user agreed to not create articles about him, so I'm giving them a second chance. I'll keep an eye on them and will re-block if they renege on their pledge. OhNoitsJamie Talk 15:05, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
- Kikichugirl and Ohnoitsjamie, I blocked Ajm95 because there was no other contribs history but I agree the unblocking. I did hesitate before blocking Tiaguinho-map (talk · contribs) and Iblanc101 (talk · contribs) because both have done useful edits. I have now unblocked both. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:43, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
- that didn't ping me... I usually don't go anywhere near CSD or anything else for recently created Draft namespace articles, but their persistance was starting to annoy me. If there are so many people trying to create an article about him, then AfC is probably the way to go, or if a user waits until they have a substantial number of edits and finding RS for the GNG requirement before hitting save on the first try. I'll keep an eye out — kikichugirl inquire 00:33, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
- @Kikichugirl: and @Ohnoitsjamie: I think I now know how to use ping! For the record, the burst of independent bios was triggered by this rambling, egocentric YouTube video which specifically mentions Wikipedia. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 14:19, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
- Good call on protecting the draft space title (mainspace title is protected until next summer). OhNoitsJamie Talk 15:17, 17 December 2014 (UTC)
- With 3.8 million subscribers though, he's probably going to be notable at some point... he's just missing someone to write a good, includable article about him that has reliable sources. A google news search reveals that he's mostly notable for his being open about his sexual orientation but nothing really that seems to set him apart from the (probably thousands of) vloggers who don't have a wikipedia article. — kikichugirl inquire 19:48, 17 December 2014 (UTC)

hi, thanks for your patrolling. We respect your notes and willing to do any correction to make the page non-advertising. Actually I left msg by clicking the button of "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" but seems no response from you. I can't find the page anymore so I recreated it, the link is in here http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Global_eSolutions_%28HK%29_Limited
Our page content was wrote in referring to one of our industry leader who base in Singapore, MetaQuotes Software. their wiki page is http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/MetaQuotes_Software
We have been tried to write the content as similar to MetaQuotes Software as we can, of course has some minor style rephrase, etc.
To avoid your deletion, can you please provide a clear instruction to us? or we need to follow exactly the same paragraph structure, content and wordings?
thanks :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gesmkt (talk • contribs) 02:31, 18 December 2014 (UTC)
- (stalking) Your article has been deleted twice because it was blatant advertising and your use of the word "we" implies the account is shared by multiple people, which is not allowed. You will need to wait until another editor decides your company is notable and starts an article about it. (Apologies for stealing RHaworth's thunder but I really hoped he'd have pictures up by now!) Hi Ritchie333, regarding G11 blatant advertising, I said we will try our best to avoid it and we are willing to do it by referencing other approved page content such as MetaQuotes Software. For using We, because the account is on-behalf the company, but me is the one and the only one who is writing and trying to fix the content. And please do not angry about the page was deleted twice, the only reason of creating a same page again is wanting RHaworth to have idea on the page (because it's deleted) AS I STATED in in my first paragraph. AND please forgive me I'm in a timezone which is completely differ from you, it may cause delay in my response.
Dear RHaworth, I'm not arguing anything but want to express my respect to Wiki and the contributor like you and others. I tried to click the button of "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" which is in your deletion msg, but I haven't receive feedback from you, then when I woke up this morning I saw the page deleted. I believe my first response to your "deletion tag" is within half hour, which shows my full respect on the communication with you.
Please let me know if I could write the page again but in different style and content detail, I shall let you know when I complete for your advise. Thank you.
