Regarding your recent edit summary on SAS

Your recent edit summary claims that that reference is 'generally unreliable' without elaborating on why. I am relatively new to Wikipedia and don't know much on this subject, and failed to see where the problem is. I wish you could elaborate on what made you say so. Hym3242 (talk) 15:09, 21 March 2024 (UTC)

Hi. Thanks for pointing the problem out. It was my mistake, as I blindly removed the source as it was marked by the unreliable script as "generally unreliable". I've reverted my edit. Thank you for asking! CanonNi (talk) 01:00, 22 March 2024 (UTC)

@Dinkar 108 involved in Edit war in different articles.

Hey @CanonNi This is to inform you that user @Dinkar 108 whose edit you just reverted on the basis of WP:UCR is involved in an edit war and is doing same king od content removal from different articles. Just look at his contribution in Paliwal Sanadhya Brahmin , Saryupareen Brahmin and Hemu. He is probably a sockpuppet of @Hemraj108. Mahishya (talk) 09:27, 26 March 2024 (UTC)

Thank you for informing me. CanonNi (talk) 09:28, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
Now when he is warned about getting blocked, he is doing it with his sockpuppet @ajju109. Check the pattern of his edits on Brahmin Sanadhya Brahmin Paliwal . He is a confirmed sockpuppet made for the purpose of vandalising wikipedia articles. Mahishya (talk) 10:15, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
Thank you. I have reported the account here. CanonNi (talk) 10:19, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
Thank you. I appreciate your work. Mahishya (talk) 10:27, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
No problem! Again, thank you for informing me. CanonNi (talk) 10:28, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
This guy himself is sockpuppet of @Andy Murray and using my name with other user claiming me a sockpuppet. Just check @Andy murrey & @Mahishya edits both are same one account joined wiki today for vandalism and other joined 4 days ago for complanied. Ajju109 (talk) 10:53, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
Please stop edit warring. If you believe he is a sockpuppet, you may report him at WP:SPI. CanonNi (talk) 10:56, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
I never indulge in edit war and I am just reverting his vandalization. And I don't know how to report. Ajju109 (talk) 11:37, 26 March 2024 (UTC)
@Ajju109 You have been warned by @NoobThreePointOh to not to remove any content and you made another account without caring for wikipedia rules and still vandalising different articles without any explanation. If that's not the edit war, i don't know what is. Its a clear edit war from your side while trying to manipulate the admins. Mahishya (talk) 12:10, 26 March 2024 (UTC)

Go read that instead of adding back in meaningless "this song has appeared in [some random place]" platitudes. 184.162.200.211 (talk) 03:06, 27 March 2024 (UTC)

Just because you believe certain parts should not be included is no reason to blank the entire section. If you believe they should be removed, please discuss on the talk page. CanonNi (talk) 03:12, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
If you feel there's any of those that is more than the trivial "This song appeared in X" (as are almost all of the examples) or similar "Song was recorded by X" or "X other song uses the same melody", you're free to go and look for sources to back it up. As it stands, the page you linked to also gives plenty of "reasons for content removal", including "unsourced information" and "irrelevant information". So no, I don't believe "certain parts should not be included", but rather the "the whole of the affected section should not be included", which is why I consequently removed the entire section. 184.162.200.211 (talk) 03:25, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
WP:UCR states that, "There are various reasons for removing content from an article. Regardless of the reason, it should be described in the edit summary. If there is any doubt the removal may be controversial, or if it has been restored following a previous removal, it should be discussed on the page's talk page prior to removal." Please start a discussion on the talk page if you wish to remove the section again. CanonNi (talk) 03:27, 27 March 2024 (UTC)
"it should be described in the edit summary" - you not reading mine is not a me problem. The long list in the British Grenadiers article is the archetypical example (something Wikipedia has such a bad rap for, it's even a well known fact of internet culture, i.e. the mention on xkcd) of bad (and almost entirely unsourced) "in popular culture" content. As I said elsewhere, songs being sung is pretty much par for the course and including every instance of it would be very indiscriminate and irrelevant. 184.162.200.211 (talk) 03:36, 27 March 2024 (UTC)

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Francis Scott Key Bridge (Baltimore) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
You are way over 3RR and against the consensus in the talk page section. There's no way there is consensus for the present tense, that's for sure. Jasper Deng (talk) 04:43, 4 April 2024 (UTC)

I'm so sorry for breaking the 3RR rule. The reason I reverted the edits is because they seemed like vandalism, as the accounts, such as Thatguy099 and Contributer2024, were newly created and felt like sock puppets of Happydays924. Again, I'm very sorry for violating the 3RR rule and will stop changing the article. CanonNi (talk) 04:50, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
Then you need to read WP:NOTVAND, WP:AGF, and WP:DBQ. I once made the mistake of glossing over all of these, resulting in WP:BITEY behavior. I don't anymore and you shouldn't anymore, either. Reading other threads on your talk page shows that this isn't the first time others have had to talk about this with you so please refrain from reverting vandalism until you are sufficiently well-acquainted with what is and isn't vandalism.--Jasper Deng (talk) 04:56, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
Upon further review, one of the edits indeed was rather unconstructive, namely this one, but the others were (mostly) in good faith and thus not vandalism.--Jasper Deng (talk) 05:12, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
Thank you for the guides. I will read them fully and stop reverting edits until I have a full understanding of vandalism-related policies. Again, thank you for informing me and I'm sorry for my unconstructive reverts. CanonNi (talk) 05:34, 4 April 2024 (UTC)

Heya Masr Draft

Hello, you declined a submission I made for an NGO called Heya Masr, can you please give me the reason why? You said that it seems like self advertisement, however, I have no affiliation whatsoever with this NGO. Also, I believe my article was 100% neutral so can you please tell what was not neutral about my draft? — Preceding unsigned comment added by John koprivne (talkcontribs) 06:08, 23 April 2024 (UTC)

The main problem was its wording. For example, you wrote " Through dedicated efforts, Heya Masr actively cultivates strong and enduring partnerships with institutions throughout Egypt, spanning from universities and large corporations to youth centers and orphanages.", which isn't in a neutral tone. Another issue, which was brought up by another reviewer, was that the draft does not cite enough reliable sources, as most of the sources are published by Heya Masr themselves. Please fix these issues, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask here or at the Teahouse. Thanks. User:CanonNi (talk|contribs) 06:13, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
I added more reliable sources that aren't published by Heya Masr themselves as a response to what the first reviewer said. Also, the first reviewer said that starting from 3 outside sources, the article is considered to be in accordance with wikipedia regulations. I included 5 sources that aren't' published by Heya Masr. When it comes to the wording, I believe that the article is neutral as like I said before I have no affiliation whatsoever with this NGO. However, the example you provided, now that I look at it out of context, does seem a bit subjective so I changed it. Please, let me know if you have other specific areas in the article that I should change as I resubmitted the article for review. John koprivne (talk) 06:28, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
I will look at the draft later. In addition, I see that you asked the initial reviewer on his talk page, but I don't see any mention of 3 outside sources in his answer, nor in the pages he linked. Could you clarify where you saw that response? User:CanonNi (talk|contribs) 06:34, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
It was on his talk page in response to someone else's draft called: Ecuador Women's National Under-17 Football Team. John koprivne (talk) 06:40, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
Thanks for letting me know. Another reviewer is currently reviewing the draft, so there's not much you and me can do right now. Feel free to ask if you have any other questions. User:CanonNi (talk|contribs) 06:45, 23 April 2024 (UTC)

Follow-up on draft submission declined

Hello, CanonNi. Good day to you. I would like to follow-up on my recent article submission which you have just declined. I'm hoping you would kindly shed light on the reasons why. Based on earlier feedbacks by other editors, I've made significant changes to insert independent and relevant external sources.

I believe the words used presently describe the company as a whole, and they are all factual instead of advertorial. Regarding a comment on COI, I have declared it on my profile and once again, the article draft is purely informational on the company. There are literally tons of big names/organisations out there with similar tone/language on their articles.

Don't mean to sound rude or anything, just curious how to proceed as best as I could because I noticed there are entries facing similar issues. Really appreciate any help I could get on this. Thank you so much. Looking forward to hearing from you. Stevienetto (talk) 06:53, 29 April 2024 (UTC)

Hello, Stevienetto. The reason I declined the draft is because there wasn't significant improvement since the previous decline. It seems that no new sources were added.
The draft needs more independent, reliable sources to demonstrate notability. Another issue is the external links in the draft. Please see WP:EXTERNAL and remove the links. Thank you for contacting me. User:CanonNi (talk|contribs) 06:57, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
Hi CanonNi, thanks for replying. To be fair, the previous decline was solely talking about the COI aspect, which I feel doesn't make sense because isn't most articles are created from someone being invested in the subject/object to begin with.
Anyway, not sure how much more external sources I ought to add because most of them are available from the company and it's not "reliable" to be included. Any chance the latest edits are any better (have taken out many website links)? Once again, thank you for the help; appreciate some specifics given compared to the previous figures. Stevienetto (talk) 11:04, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
I would suggest removing the external links in the body first, such as in the "History" section. In addition, a quick Google search has found many sources, such as this one and this one, so maybe consider adding some? The recent edits are definitely improvements, but more changes can be made. Thank you for asking! User:CanonNi (talk|contribs) 11:33, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
Hello there. Appreciate the feedback. Hope the new changes are good enough now. Do let me know your thoughts. Thank you so much for the help. Stevienetto (talk) 04:12, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
Hi. I see that you have added new sources and removed external links, which is great. If you're ready, you could resubmit the draft for review, and another editor will take a look at the draft shortly. (I won't review the draft myself, as I also contributed to it) User:CanonNi (talk|contribs) 04:19, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
Great! Once again, thank you so much for your help. Cheers! Stevienetto (talk) 04:22, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
Hello there. Sorry to bother you, just that you're the only one who has been kind and helpful so far. Apparently the draft has been declined and at this point I'm just so lost and frustrated about the whole process. Feels like every editor/reviewer has their own standards and it's impossible to tick all the boxes, hence a never-ending cycle.
Am wondering if there's a possibility a different editor overseeing my draft instead of the same person if I were to submit without any changes (since I genuinely don't know what else is there to add on)? I apologise for the troubles. Stevienetto (talk) 06:37, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
I understand how you feel. Consider asking about the draft at WP:AFC/HD, where other editors can look at the draft and give suggestions. User:CanonNi (talk|contribs) 06:40, 30 April 2024 (UTC)

Thank you

Hello CanonNi, and thank you for your edits to combat the editor currently engaging in edit war in the Black Sea slave trade-article.
The editor Someone Qırımlı are currently engaging in persistent vandalism of the article. They edit the article both from anonymous IP-adresses, as well as from their account, which had barely been used for anything than for editing this article.
They erase and remove referenced information describing the slave trade of the Crimean Khanate, referring to everything descriging the slave trade as non neutral "Russian propaganda", and either erase the entire topic from the article, or replace it with content describing the slavery as benevolent.
I wonder if the article can be protected somehow, or if the user can be blocked from edititing it? They clearly violate the rules of bias, vandalism and edit warring, but as a contributor I mostly write, and and know less about what can be done in these situations. Perhaps you have more knowledge as how do adress this? I have limited time dealing with this (I am travelling soon). My best greetings--Aciram (talk) 13:13, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
PS: They now also appear to emply a sock puppet: AzaqQara. --Aciram (talk) 13:22, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
Hi. Sorry but I will respond to your message later - it's getting late here where I live. Thanks. CanonNi (talk) 13:29, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
I understand. No worries at all: I may not be able to be that available myself for a while, since I am due to travel, but I thought I should at least direct the attention of a serious user to the problem. I suspect this is going to be a long term problem, unless the user is stopped. They have now attempted to start their own article about the issue, "The Crimean slave trade", to further their opinion. The article appears to be appologetic to slavery in the Crimea, which is perhaps not a suprise considering their non-neutral edit warring. I do hope the article is deleted. --Aciram (talk) 13:54, 2 April 2024 (UTC)
Hi, the user seems to have started a discussion on the article's talk page about his recent edits, which other editors, such as Wikishovel and Draken Bowser have opposed. In addition, the editor in question has been seriously warned for his actions, as Draken Bowser says, "Again, you need to argue the source material and display a fundamental understanding of our rules. This is a difficult topic and needs to be discussed calmly. You need to collect your thoughts and slow down your posting or I will have to request that you be blocked to calm things down." So if the user continues changing content to his preferences, he might be blocked for vandalism and/or editwarring.
Thanks for reaching out to me, and I really appreciate your efforts in combating vandalism and protecting Wikipedia. Again, Thank you! CanonNi (talk) 00:31, 3 April 2024 (UTC)

Hello, CanonNi,

I'm not sure why you created this talk page as there is no article here and hasn't been since 2008. So, there is no need for a talk page for a nonexistent article. These just get deleted through speedy deletion because they are unnecessary. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 03:42, 3 April 2024 (UTC)

Hi @Liz. I created the talk page as part of an accepted request on WP:AFC/R, but the page itself was blocked from creation from 2008 and only the talk page was successfully changed. CanonNi (talk) 08:53, 3 April 2024 (UTC)

You reverted this

Dearest editor,

I saw you reverted here on Agricultural pollution. Well, I'm was about reverting it as well but remembered the input wasn't bad and doesn't seem like copyvio and maybe the editor may be taking to cite it (or that they don't know got to cite). I was about giving them tips on that before I saw your edits. Please clam down little and know that IP's are humans too. They may not have sources it but reading it makes sense and the article in question looks essay (..I). Just a reminder! Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 01:03, 4 April 2024 (UTC)

IP users asking about usernames.

Hi, CanonNi. I notice that you have answered two queries about usernames on the Teahouse from IP users with, essentially "You are an IP user, so you haven't got a username". (That's not your exact wording, but that's the sense I took from it). In both cases, reading between the lines, I think the message is from somebody who has an account, but either they've forgotten it, it's blocked, or they've just forgotten to log in. Your answer is not wrong, but if I'm right (and I might not be) it's not very helpful to them. ColinFine (talk) 17:30, 7 April 2024 (UTC)

Sockupuppet investigation

Hello CanonNi, and thank you for this sock puppet investigation: [1]. This user now has a fourth (?) sock puppet: The user: Frankovsky S may be another sock puppet: [2]. CanonNi, you're flying too close to the Sun here. You were wrong to revert that edit for that reason; you should've asked the question on the user's talk page. In this particular case, G5 doesn't apply due to substantial edits for others, but in that case you really should let an admin be the one to decline it as it is clear that you do not understand WP:CSD enough to do so yourself.--Jasper Deng (talk) 02:58, 10 April 2024 (UTC)
I am extremely sorry for that error. I wrongly assumed that TheTehchie was trying to cancel the AfD as he created the article.

CanonNi, do you see the pattern here? You're consistently doing things that should be left to more experienced editors. You need WP:CLUE to participate in administrative processes. Focus on content creation first to get an understanding of how Wikipedia works so you don't repeat this mistake in other processes.--Jasper Deng (talk) 03:09, 10 April 2024 (UTC)

That Strange Kid Who Is Definitely A Kid

In my talk page, there was that mysterious user who reverted my edit on East Coast Jets Flight 81 and then notified me about his actions. When he notified me, his English was… advance. When you pointed out something suspicious about “his talk page”, he replied to you with jumbled English words, a sign that this user doesn’t know English at all. Then I looked back at my previous contributions to the Flight 81 article and came across something. About 21 days ago, this user made an edit to the Flight 81 article which I reverted, rightfully. I then notified him about MY actions. If you can go and check, you might notice that the notice I gave him is eerily similar to the notice that my stalker gave me! Then this completely and respectively different user replied with, “yes why not?”. I don’t even know what that means! Oh man, how random can Wikipedia be? So, days later, that completely and respectively different user probably logged in on another device, copied the same exact words and links I posted, and pasted it on MY TALK PAGE and reverted my other edit. You pointing out about “his talk page” link reinforces my claim! When you take a look at his contributions, he has only 4 edits. One to revert his edit and the other 3 for his claim and his disorienting argument. Justice was apparently going through his head, I guess. He probably just didn’t wanna be discovered. Well, this is all just a theory which is heavily backed up!(MH370) I don’t really know why I wrote all this junk, I just wanted someone, like you, to know. You can delete this discussion after reading. I don’t really mind. But, oh man, how random can Wikipedia really be? CreatorOfMinecraftHerobrine (talk) 05:28, 13 April 2024 (UTC)

Hi and thanks for messaging me.
I wouldn't worry too much about them for now, as they have not made other edits other than the ones you mentioned. If they persist, try talking it to WP:AIV or WP:ANI. I'm not experienced enough to deal with this issue though, try contacting administrators if you need further help. You can also ask about this situation at the Teahouse, and see if others have any solutions.
Anyways, thank you for your contributions, and keep up the great work! User:CanonNi (talk|contribs) 05:57, 13 April 2024 (UTC)

Page move

Hi @User:CanonNi,
You moved this page Changzhi Li here to Li Changzhi with reason per WP:ZHNAME. Another editor made changes to the name in the article section which you reverted [4]. I want to know the reason since my observation of WP:ZHNAME instates and can be superceded if the common name per WP:COMMONNAME is not following the Chinese surname-given name.
Looking at the sources and running WP:BEFORE, most of the sources used Changzhi Li (which can be seen here, here, [https://www.scopus.com/authid/detail.uri?authorId=57194334865%7Chere, the scientific presentation was to place last name in "Li" and first name in "Changzhi" so as to display as Changzhi Li).
In order to maintain accuracy, I would advice you go through requesting the page move as to meet consensus in whether to change or not. Regards! — Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 15:20, 13 April 2024 (UTC)

First of all, Quora is not an reliable source, see WP:QUORA. Secondly, the websites you linked say, "The Devangas are the descendants of sages Shri Devala (Devanga) who incarnated by the will of Lord Shiva, incarnated by the will of Shiva, to protect the dignity of the people of Trailokya without clothing, and for the initiation of knowledge, without sutra." So, there is this new user who recently edited the Thai Airways Flight 261 article and removed some content about what the pilots said. Would you be interested?

Hello, CanonNi,
I don't know if you remember me, but we both participated in a discussion on the talk page of Black Sea slave trade, and I appreciated your effort in that issue (the problematic user has reappeared there, but I hope and trust they will not be succesful, since the matter seem settled). A similar issue has recently came up. Since you were interested in protecting Black Sea slave trade against attempts of bias, you may also be intrested in the talk page of slavery in al-Andalus; nothing has yet been done, but it likely will be.
A user who have shown what I believe to be bias have been allerted to the article: [5] The first user have adressed valid concerns which I have adressed, but M.Bitton have shown bias in other articles in this topic issue, and from what is said, I am concerned that this article will be subjected to bias editing. You will see my concerns on the article talk page. Since posting that, another user has allerted me that M.Bitton may have been on ANI for bias editing, but I do not know if that is true.
Perhaps you could be persuaded to put the article in your watch list, and adress future bias editing by M.Bitton? I would have done it myself, but I must be honest enough to say that my health is not good enough to engage in such a thing, and I have been blunt enough to explain why in the talk page. But I am still concerned enough to want to at least attempt to do something to protect the article. Of course, there is no need for any action at all at present; but since I know you to be interested in the subject, I would be grateful to know that a non-bias and serious contributor with respect for a non bias view had the article under watch. If you are not intereted, perhaps you can recomend another user to contact? Thanks. All the best,--Aciram (talk) 11:28, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
Hi Aciram, and thanks for contacting me. I definitely do remember you, and I appreciate your great work. I will definitely monitor the article, and watch out to M.Bitton and other accounts. Thank you for trusting me, but to be honest, I believe that I'm not experienced enough to deal with things like this, and that my knowledge in the field is not enough to make decisions about the article's topic. I would recommend contacting active members of WikiProjects, such as WikiProject Human rights and WikiProject History. Again, thank you for contacting me, Aciram. User:CanonNi (talk|contribs) 11:50, 23 April 2024 (UTC)
Thank you for your kind words, and sorry for not answering before. I am relived that you have put the article on your watchlist.
In these situations I feel rather helpless; while I am confident in my knowledge about the subject matter, and I know that every citation written can be fact checked in the digitalized books by anyone without much concern, my main occupation on Wikipedia is to write, and I have less knowledge about which regulations to appeal to and who to contact in situations like these. The fact that I suffer from exhaustion also creates an inhibition to attend to such issues. I am therefore grateful when a user with more knowledge and energy can provide advise.
I understand your hesitance when it comes to the article subject; but nothing has yet occurred, and when and if it does, it is good to know that you, who in contrast to me will at least know who to contact, will be allerted. I am aware of my own limitations, but the non-bias principle is important to me, and I was aware of the sensitivy of the topic beforehand. This is a relief. Thanks again!--Aciram (talk) 22:22, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
No problem at all! User:CanonNi (talk|contribs) 23:50, 1 May 2024 (UTC)

Rollback

Hi CanonNi. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:

 • Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or Ultraviolet. It just adds a [Rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision - that's all. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
 • Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits.
 • Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the rights will be revoked.
 • Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Fastily 05:30, 3 May 2024 (UTC)

Thank you so much! User:CanonNi (talk|contribs) 05:34, 3 May 2024 (UTC)

Request on 13:04:19, 10 May 2024 for assistance on AfC submission by ZDISK

Could you please provide specific details about how this page needs to be edited to conform to the Wikipedia standard? I don't see how it reads like an essay. It summarizes and cites peer-reviewed scientific literature - there are no opinions in the piece unless one takes issue with the word "seminal." The last section describes two alternative models for the mechanism of polyspermy block, but I feel this is an accurate summation of an unresolved and actively researched area. I am happy to continue to improve this page, but I don't understand the problem.

Hope you're doing well. Just asking for another chance to submit my Wikipedia drafts, My assistant is handling my profile writing. If you could give me another chance, I promise to take the time to gather multiple sources to strengthen my profile. I hope you'll give me another chance. Thank you!

Kind Regards,

Erin Simpson Erin1313 (talk) 09:23, 14 May 2024 (UTC)

Sorry, but after 4 declines and 1 previous deletion, it's hard to find the subject notable (WP:GNG, WP:NBIO). In addition, as you probably know by now, writing an autobiography is strongly discouraged per WP:AUTO. Even if you are not directly writing it, there is still a conflict of interest. Furthermore, as other reviewers have said at the help desk, the draft still remains largely unsourced. User:CanonNi (talkcontribs) 09:45, 14 May 2024 (UTC)

Okay, that's not an unreasonable position, CanonNi, but the principle is that the rejecting reviewer is who will hear an appeal. I don't think it would look nice if I were to effectively overrule your rejection (and that is how it would appear to a casual observer).
In any case, Awise1203 has so far only alluded to new evidence of notability; I note that nothing new has been added to the draft, so there is as yet no grounds for an appeal. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:55, 22 May 2024 (UTC)

Question from Kylebutt (19:03, 12 May 2024)

Hi. I signed up to create a new page on the Rao-Sandelius Shuffle. It is an algorithm that serves the same purpose as the Fisher-Yates Shuffle. I would appreciate a review of my draft. It's relatively short. It accurately summarizes the algorithm. It cites the original papers, and an additional paper that gives a succinct description of the algorithm.

Thank you, Kyle --Kylebutt (talk) 19:03, 12 May 2024 (UTC)

Hi @Kylebutt and thank you for asking. Your draft looks good, but I would recommend adding some sources. I would also recommend reading MOS:CS and better format the draft. Other than that, the draft is in good shape. Let me know if you have any more questions. User:CanonNi (talkcontribs) 23:39, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
I took a look at MOS:CS and tried to improve it. I added pseudo code and a paragraph comparing performance to the Fisher-Yates shuffle. I included a source for the performance claim that I just added. What other sources do you feel that it needs?

How do I edit the summary --Jec Morgan (talk) 15:52, 17 May 2024 (UTC)

(talk page stalker) Hello @Jec Morgan and welcome to Wikipedia. I don't know which summary you're talking about but here, an edit summary is usually a a place to say what you did to an article. Did you correct mistakes? Did you add content, or removed one? It helps other editors know what the action of an edit were. You can also read WP:EDITSUMMARY which tells good things to know about how to write and edit summary. Regards. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 17:03, 17 May 2024 (UTC)

Possible return of LTA

Hi, I think Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Lazy-restless is back. This was added by Bengali editor. Yesterday and today, two new IP added same text (see page history, also IPs editing history). I can request for CU but most likely will be declined. Their behaviour and editing preferences are very similar. Consider blocking those IP ranges (you can use this tool to calculate) or semi-protect the article so that IP cann't edit (they frequently edit those page). Question from HARKmedia (14:37, 19 June 2024)

Hey CanonNi

Awesome that you're my mentor, thanks for being there...now, I know this is a big no no in wiki-land...but I've began editing an article on myself, ego I know, but I swear it doesn't come from that place! I'm writing it from a neutral standpoint as best I can to provide knowledge on my musical alias Junk Season. A big part of this is just to build knowledge and trust for the artist, and having that come up on search results would be great at shedding light on the project.

I want to give this the best possible chance at being accepted...so as my mentor, what're my chances on a first look from your end? There's still some more references and information I want to add to give it some more credibility/notability. The idea being that this would act as the foundation for others to build upon as it grows.

Thanks! --HARKmedia (talk) 14:37, 19 June 2024 (UTC)

@Hkendall93 first of all, welcome. I see that you've had a bit of a rough start, but it's good that your appeal was accepted. You have said that you won't make any edits related to yourself, and I will decline your draft for that reason. Don't feel discouraged though, as there are many other things you can contribute to (consider checking out the Task Center). Feel free to ask here or at the Teahouse if you have any other questions. Question from Kharavela Deva (14:22, 21 June 2024)

Hello, as I am a guitarist and a musician. I wanted to make a sandbox about Indian classical music note "Anuvadi" Svara because, Vadi,Samavadi,Vivadi and Varjit Swara is available on Wikipedia but not Samavadi. As a newly joined Wikipedian, I am unable to properly make References and External links. I will make the sandbox but can you make my references and External links proper. --Kharavela Deva (talk) 14:22, 21 June 2024 (UTC)

@Kharavela Deva sure, I'd be glad to help. I would recommend creating a draft instead of a sandbox though, as sandboxes are more for testing. User:CanonNi (talkcontribs) 07:42, 22 June 2024 (UTC)

Question from Aline.flament (16:27, 28 June 2024)

Hi CanonNi, I am trying to publish an article in the name of the company (Westlake Epoxy) I am working for but my article was rejected.

This submission does not appear to be written in the formal tone expected of an encyclopedia article. Entries should be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources. I should rewrite my submission in a more encyclopedic format and avoid peacock terms that promote the subject.

I don't know what they mean and how to proceed. Could you help me?

Thank you! Best regards, Aline --Aline.flament (talk) 16:27, 28 June 2024 (UTC)

@Aline.flament first of all, you need to declare your paid editing status. I've left a message on your talk page explaining how. Your draft is currently promotional in tone, with sentences like Westlake Epoxy maintains stringent quality control processes to ensure that its products meet the highest standards of performance and reliability, and is poorly sourced. Please see Help:Your first article and Help:Referencing for beginners. User:CanonNi (talkcontribs) 00:33, 29 June 2024 (UTC)

Edit requests at Talk:Israel

Thank you for removing the edit requests at Talk:Israel this morning. I just thought I'd let you know the user had also vandalised the talk page - changing all but one of the "Article milestones" links from Israel to Palestine (see this diff). I've fixed it and given the user a 4im warning. I noticed you had used the Edit Request Tool to remove the requests, it might be worth also checking the talk page's history or the user's contributions when you see edit requests like this. Draft:Hotdesk

Hello,

I'm the writer of the Hotdesk draft. This is my 1st ever article and I wanted to know if you could give me a bit more insight on how I can get it approved.

Thank you for your assistance!

Best regards, Gerard Gerardch12 (talk) 11:40, 23 July 2024 (UTC)

@Gerardch12 there are several issues, but firstly, what is your relationship with the company? If you are an employee, you are required by the terms of use to disclose it by placing the paid template on your user page. The main issues are:
 1. The draft is promotional in tone with many peacock words. Everything should be written neutrally.
 2. The draft lacks inline citations, which are needed so that information can be verified. See H:Referencing for beginners for more information.
 3. The sources aren't reliable. 2 of the 6 sources are the company's website (and are therefore not independent nor reliable), and the other 4 are about the founder, not the company (and are therefore not significant coverage).
For the draft to be accepted, it needs to meet the general notability guidelines and notability guidelines for companies. HTH, User:CanonNi (talkcontribs) 11:47, 23 July 2024 (UTC)

Establishing Notability RE:Andy Hopper (Declined Draft)

Hi CanonNi,

I was reaching out for some guidance after you recently declined my draft for an article about Andy Hopper (Draft:Andy Hopper). I'm hoping you might be able to provide some guidance for better establishing notability. I have a number of other sources discussing Hopper and his election campaigns, but I want to make sure I'm providing sources that add to notability.

From the general notability guidelines, I feel with additional sources, I can establish all five components of notability, but I just want to make sure that it's not an issue of source quality versus number of sources. He has been covered by many professional media outlets in North Texas, including radio and television interviews. Also, I'm wondering what weight, if any campaign endorsements by other already established notable people might have? He has been endorsed by a number of people with national fame in the USA.

Thanks in advance for any feedback or advice you might be able to provide,

TC Texasconservative24 (talk) 03:01, 24 July 2024 (UTC)

@Texasconservative24 if you have multiple reliable independent sources that discuss him with significant coverage (such as the professional media outlets), feel free to add them. Regarding campaign endorsements: news coverage on said endorsements may contribute towards notability. Feel free to ask here or at the help desk if you have any further questions. Question about article decline

Hi!

You recently declined my submission titled Draft:James Miller (professor), however, I find your response a little confusing. From what I gather, you declined my submission on account of subject Notability. After reviewing the relevant pages, I would like to offer a response. I believe that the subject in question here, can be easily connected to points 3, 5, and 8. Allow me to elaborate.

Point 3: The person has been an elected member of a highly selective and prestigious scholarly society or association or a fellow of a major scholarly society which reserves fellow status as a highly selective honor. The subject in question has been selected as a fellow of the United States Library of the Congress, which only selects a limited number of academics globally annually. This has been referenced by the Library's own website.

Point 5: The person has held a distinguished professor appointment at a major institution of higher education and research, a named chair appointment that indicates a comparable level of achievement, or an equivalent position in countries where named chairs are uncommon. The subject had been appointed Chair of the Faculty Assembly of the University, selection amounting to leading the whole faculty of a major academic institution, as credited by the Duke University website.

Point 8: The person has been head or chief editor of a major well-established academic journal in their subject area. The subject in question is editor-in-chief of a Brill journal titled Worldviews: Global Religions, Cultures, and Ecology, the first journal to focus on the relationships between religion, culture, and ecology worldwide, established in 1997. This has been sourced by the journal's page on Brill.

Because of all the reasons above, I believe that the subject in question for this article qualifies easily on the Notability criterion, as well as using proper sources. Thus, I would like to hear your thoughts on this, and advice on how to improve the article, in order to better satisfy Wikipedia's needs in demonstrating these points even more clearly.

Take care,

Mateja Bokan MatejaWateja (talk) 06:04, 29 July 2024 (UTC)

@MatejaWateja regarding the points you made above:
 1. Yes, that may potentially make him notable, but that information is not included anywhere in the draft.
 2. Again, yes, that may make him notable, but that information isn't in the article either
 3. A rule of thumb is that if the journal doesn't have an article, it's not well-established.
So, Miller potentially meets 2 of the 8 criteria for academics, but the information needs to be included in the article. HTH, User:CanonNi (talkcontribs) 23:14, 30 July 2024 (UTC)

Question from Carodet (08:20, 4 July 2024)

Hi there! I need to change the title of an article as the name of the institution mentioned is incorrect. It currently reads 'City Law School' whilst its brand name is 'The City Law School'. Do I need to make a request via the forum to achieve this? Or is there a quicker way since this is the entity's legal name? --Carodet (talk) 08:20, 4 July 2024 (UTC)

@Carodet, The process of changing the title of an article is called a move. Usually this is done because the current title does not fit our guidelines on article titles. If the move is straightforward and nobody objects, make a request at Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests, and a page mover will do it for you. However, IMO, this case is rather complicated, as generally 'The' isn't included in article titles. But... City Law School seems to have an emphasis on the 'The' in its title, so a technical move might be challenged. Therefore, what I would do is to start a discussion called a requested move on the talk page. Let me know if you have any other questions. User:CanonNi (talkcontribs) 08:27, 4 July 2024 (UTC)

Question from RKenDo on Newcastle Customs House (08:53, 25 July 2024)

@RKenDo common ways to address the issue are to: a) split some of the content, if the excessive detail is valuable, or b) deleting trivial information. The solution you use is up to you. Now, if you're not comfortable with a large task like this, consider doing small tasks, such as punctuation copy edits you mentioned. Thanks for asking, and welcome! Why did you delete everything for the talk and discussion page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.199.170.144 (talk) 05:26, 9 July 2024 (UTC)

Why did you delete everything from the talk and discussion page? You deleted a new entry, you gave one reason, when that reason was refuted, you deleted the answer. Also, you feel strongly about this. Why? 79.199.170.144 (talk) 05:28, 9 July 2024 (UTC)

@Junurita I understand that, I really do, but the problem is, and I'm gonna be blunt, your English is not good enough to edit here. There are many other ways to learn English, but editing Wikipedia isn't one of them, as your mistakes end up having to be fixed by others. My suggestion is that, if you really like editing Wikipedia, edit the one in your native language, Vietnamese; or if you insist on editing here, come back when your English is better. Dear Sir Canoni,

Thank you for reviewing my previous draft. Your insights are invaluable.

To enhance it, I plan to focus on clarity, concise language, and stronger references.

I’ll also ensure proper citations and a coherent structure.

Your guidance is much appreciated, and I’m committed to delivering an improved version.

Your removal of a tag

Talk:War of 1812#Infobox and belligerents, with Spain on the list Rather than removing something you disagree with, you should see whether there is any ongoing debate on the talk page for the article. Next time you find yourself in this scenario, it would be better to check, and if there has been recent discussion, to leave a message there as to what you are going to edit, and why, else it looks like an edit war. Question about tags and draftspace

Hello @CanonNi!

I see that you removed stub and BLP tags from my draft article. Is there a reference for how these tags should only be used in mainspace and not in draftspace? I have checked the page on drafts and on tagging and I don't see it specified there.

Since Wikipedia search doesn't return draftspace articles by default, I don't see the harm in including those tags in the draft article. Having a ready-to-publish version of the article in draftspace, with all necessary tags, makes more sense in my opinion.

Happy to learn more.

Regards,
CoolAndUniqueUsername (talk) 15:36, 28 July 2024 (UTC)

@Animal lover 666 thanks for the reminder. I was wondering, since I saw a lot of these false positives recently, is there a way to 'update' the article so that it doesn't trigger the filter? Thanks. User:CanonNi (talkcontribs) 23:09, 30 July 2024 (UTC)
Unfortunately, the filters probably don't, and never will, have the ability to check for the existence of other articles. (They can parse the HTML of the page, both the old version and the new, to detect red links.) Animal lover |666| 06:25, 31 July 2024 (UTC)

Request for Preliminary Review of Revised "Cyber Privacy" Draft

Hello User:CanonNi I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to request a preliminary review of my draft article Draft:Cyber_privacy before resubmitting it for approval.

In response to the feedback provided, I have thoroughly revised the content to ensure that the sources cited are robust, reliable, and offer perspectives from various aspects of the topic. These revisions aim to create a balanced and neutral perspective, incorporating sources that are either directly relevant to the term 'cyber privacy'—explicitly mentioned in the text—or that contribute to the topic's understanding within the context of its provided definition. My goal is to ensure that the draft meets Wikipedia’s requirements for notability and verifiability. I would greatly appreciate your expert opinion on whether this iteration sufficiently addresses the concerns raised, particularly regarding the coverage and independent verification of the term "cyber privacy." Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to any guidance you can offer for further improvements.

İ want to ask you 2 questions First:Can i write Wiki pages in different languages? For example İm from turkey, but i choose to write at eng Wiki first İts gonna be a problem to write at turkish Viki with same account or do i need a other account? Second:How to write a New Wiki page from start? Stuka535 (talk) 12:02, 4 August 2024 (UTC)

@Stuka535 well, you can, but not here. This is the English Wikipedia, so all articles must be in English. However, the Wikimedia Foundation also runs other wikis, including one in Turkish. To edit there, just log in with the same password and account you use here. I don't speak Turkish, so you'll have to get help from someone there, but they likely have similar guidelines for new articles there, including notability and verificability. @M.A. Carlebach Sorry for your loss. To format references properly, follow the directions at Help:Referencing for beginners, or you can just give me links to the sources here, and I'll add them for you. Also, please note that as you have a personal connection with him, you are strongly discouraged from directly editing the article. User:CanonNi (talkcontribs) 00:53, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
Okay, rather than edit it myself, I'll forward the references here. Or there is also the option that I can ask a professor in the field of journalism to write something on the significance of Michael's first history of photojournalism, "The Origins of Photojournalism in America" which he was too modest to do himself. I can also provide images of his photographs or from his books.
Here (attached below) is the (not very well-written) obit from the Miami Herald, and a better, more detailed one from the University of Miami newspaper. I have copies of book reviews which I scanned but am unable to attach here. Let me know if I can send them another way. The reviews are from: Publishers Weekly (14 Sept,1992), Journalism Quarterly (Summer, 1993), News Photographer (vol. 49, no.7,July, 1994. 12), The Los Angeles Times (25 Oct, 1992), Brown Alumni Monthly) (n.d.).
In addition to the addition of his death date and some minor corrections on his resume, this is what I proposed to add in the edit:
As a historian Carlebach's book, The Origins of Photojournalism in America, was considered seminal as one of the first histories on the earliest years of news photography in the U.S. It became a standard text in the field. Carlebach argued that periodical publications in the United States began supplementing print journalism with photographs by converting them to engravings or woodcuts long before the half-tone printing process was invented which allowed the mass reproduction of photographs.

Question from Factsnfigurestoo (17:13, 23 August 2024)

Hi CanonNi. Thank you any and all advice, etc! Although I'm new to Wikipedia editing, I've read many, many articles and I'm an expert in my scientific field. I've just drafted a new article about Paul Sniegowski, who recently became the President of Earlham College. I think my article fulfills everything expected of a biography of a living person. One thing that I could use help on is how to add the box that gives information about a scholar (education, positions, mentors, and the like), typically seen on the right of the entry. Thanks again! --Factsnfigurestoo (talk) 17:13, 23 August 2024 (UTC)

First article approved, and someone already added the infobox to it. So I'm all set now. Factsnfigurestoo (talk) 10:22, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
@Factsnfigurestoo sorry for the late reply, but congrats on your first article! It looks good, but one thing you can improve are its categories, by adding it to more specific ones. For example, Category:Biologists is used right now, but the draft should be in one of the more specific subcategories, such as Category:21st-century American biologists or Category:American geneticists. Since I'm not familiar with biology, I'll leave the categorizing work to you (a tool I'd recommend would be HotCat). Feel free to let me know if you have any more questions. Just submitted my second article, also a biography in my area of expertise. This one is Draft:Jeffrey Barrick. Again, many internal links to Wikipedia entries as well as external references to verify factual statements. I'll update the categories once the article is approved. (Seems like categories can't be added until then, except for automated ones labeled draft, pending, AfC, and the like.) Factsnfigurestoo (talk) 01:53, 26 August 2024 (UTC)

DCWC closing update

The 2024 Developing Countries WikiContest has come to a close! After a thrilling finish to the event with a slew of submissions on the final day, we have our winners. With 608 points, Bronze Belt Buckle – 3rd place Thebiguglyalien (submissions) comes in third with his series of Kiribati and Botswanan submissions; Silver Belt Buckle – 2nd place Tuvalu BeanieFan11 (submissions) flies into second place at the last second with 771 points after a string of good articles about sportspersons; and after leading for much of contest's three months, Gold Belt Buckle – 1st place Generalissima (submissions) finishes with a whopping 798 points to take home the Gold Belt Buckle. Congratulations to our winners!

In addition to his spot in the top three, Tuvalu BeanieFan11 (submissions) also wins the special awards for submitting under the most countries (44 countries) and for writing the most articles about women (15 Did you know? nominations)! India Magentic Manifestations (submissions), after making 16 submissions under the Indian flag—15 of them good articles—receives the awards for most submissions for a single country and most featured or good articles promoted. For their submission of one FAC review, five FLC reviews, and 20 GAN reviews, Simongraham (submissions) wins for most article reviews.

The results of the contest have far exceeded any expectations the coordinators had for it at the beginning: among the submissions to the event were 3 FAs, 10 FLs, 88 GAs, dozens of article reviews of every kind, and more Did you know? submissions than we can count! Regardless of your level of participation, every contestant can be proud to have contributed towards a major step in countering the systemic bias on Wikipedia. Every year, millions of readers and editors around the globe use Wikipedia to educate themselves and communicate with others about parts of the world that often receive less attention than they deserve. Thank you for participating with us in the contest and contributing to this effort. The DCWC will return next year and we look forward to seeing you contribute again! However, before that...

We need your feedback! Join the conversation on the talk page to discuss your reflections on the contest (even if you didn't participate!) and help us make it better.

Better source request for File:Last Call BBS.jpg

Thanks for your upload to Wikipedia:

You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete or generic. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact source (such as the web page, or printed document) where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain, search engine, pinboard, aggregator, or the direct/bare URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 00:29, 11 October 2024 (UTC)

Declining my article in a previous edit, but now still waiting for review

Hello! Earlier today (or yesterday depending where you live) My Article was declined in a old edit. But right now, it says waiting for review again. It also said you were the one to decline but I guess undecline. My question is is it declined or not? And if it is, what can I do to make the article better? Draft is: Draft:Hurricane Isaac (2024) JAFactsDude (talk) 02:35, 7 October 2024 (UTC)

@JAFactsDude yesterday (I live in the middle of nowhere) I declined the draft by mistake, and I reverted my edit. So the answer to your question would be no. The draft is currently submitted and awaiting review. User:CanonNi (talkcontribs) 02:39, 7 October 2024 (UTC)

@Kharavela Deva the main problem is that your draft has no inline citations, and all references are instead cluttered at the bottom. The references are still not quite right. All <ref> tags should be immediately after the statement(s) they support, not at the bottom. I've moved a reference as an example. User:CanonNi (talkcontribs) 01:55, 18 October 2024 (UTC)

Can a museum's website be a reliable source?

Hi CanonNi, I've just noticed a review you did recently where you rejected an article in part because A museum's website is not a reliable source. Are you sure about that one, or is it that some specific museum's are not considered reliable? ϢereSpielChequers 11:46, 18 October 2024 (UTC)

@WereSpielChequers sorry for the late reply. What I meant was that particular site, Okhra, seemed to be more of a tourist attraction, rather than a proper art museum. User:CanonNi (talkcontribs) 01:08, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
No problem, I don't dispute that some museums are more credible than others, and that some museum claims are either out of date, overly nationalistic or just patriochal about their community's achievements. Just good to give that detail when communicating with article writers. ϢereSpielChequers 10:54, 31 October 2024 (UTC)

Declined my sources

Hey I noticed you said some of my sources such as Instagram, TikTok and YouTube for example are not reliable. but when compared to other biographies such as Jackson Hinkle the source for his birthday is his own twitter https://x.com/jacksonhinklle/status/1835270134036090986 / this is a pretty big double standard especially when TikTok twitter and Instagram are actual sources you can't just say they're not just cause its social media. I don't know how twitter and TikTok are at different levels of quality when it's both someone saying the same thing but in different media formats. I did review the notability requirements for people and i will definitely add some more sources showing why he's notable for now I'll give you some examples here. Eddie was in a jubilee video with 1.3 million views, a debate with well-known twitch streamer vaush 241k views and a debate with another well-known streamer Destiny (streamer)426k views Gingercom1 (talk) 04:32, 10 November 2024 (UTC)

@Gingercom1 social media may, if there are no better sources, be used to verify basic information. They do not establish notablility. User:CanonNi (talkcontribs) 04:41, 10 November 2024 (UTC)

Deleting a article.

I propose taking action on the article "Bhavishya Malika Puran" as it solely presents propaganda spread by news channels for financial gain. Context: The article is highly disputed, and its accuracy as a translation of the original Bhavishya Malika remains unverified. News channels have extensively covered this topic, primarily repeating the claims made by the Pandit. Unfortunately, the errors in this translated book, which appears to be motivated by financial interests, have gone unchallenged. Having carefully examined the book and its issues, I recommend one of the following actions:

 • 1. Archive the article until credible evidence supporting its claims is provided.

Question from Preupellor about Bushi (region)

Hello CanonNi, I see you've reverted my two edits on the article Bushi (region) because I didn't provide a good source. Now I translated most of my work from the French article on the Bushi Kingdom, but admittedly forgot to copy the references, but I assume the problem is with the source worldstatesmen.org (which the French Wikipedia also used, so I assumed was okay)? Sockpuppetry

I may have been blocked,as I tried to move page Ashoka by changing the name the great severe times. And, by reading whole Block and Banning policy. I feared because I have made 1 account 3 years ago which was blocked, and then I created this account, by the same IP. But, this time I have'nt abused any rules or policies of Wikipedia and also I am trying to reduce the vandalism department in this Bunch of knowledge. Will I be banned? Regards, Ved Sharma   Kharavela Deva (talk) 13:33, 14 December 2024 (UTC)

@Kharavela Deva if you have not used that account, or any other, in the past three years you should be good to go. Sockpuppetry only applies when it is used to mislead, deceive, disrupt, or undermine consensus. I believe your situation counts as a fresh start and is allowed. About the reliable and independent sources of SRS

Thank you for your time to review the Wiki. I got the review messages all about reliable and independent sources, actually I think we got some news sources like:

And we also got sources from CommCon 2023 and 2024, which is a conference in London:

 • Winlin, Yang (21 June 2023). "Sub-Second Latency Streaming Technologies and Applications". 2023.commcon.xyz/talks/sub-second-latency-streaming-technologies-and-applications/
 • Winlin, Yang (6 June 2024). "Oryx: AI-Powered Media Kit for Everyone" 2024.commcon.xyz/talks/oryx-ai-powered-media-kit-for-everyone/

SRS (Simple Realtime Server) is a open source community from 2013, about 11 years ago, and famous project in streaming industry, but we are not a commercial project, so we have many users and developers all over the world but not too many news reports.

I'm also new to wikipedia, if you need more information about this project, please let met know.

Regards! Chengli William Yang (talk) 14:03, 26 December 2024 (UTC)

@Chengli Yang hi. The first source only mentions the topic briefly and is therefore not significant coverge, while the second and third are not independent. If there are too many news reports like you say, the topic is unfortunately not notable. User:CanonNi (talkcontribs) 04:28, 27 December 2024 (UTC)

Hey i just wanted to aplogize for what i did.

Hey this is David and i was trying to put a history, expansion and mission page, and sources on the st. henry distirct high school page, and aparently, it all got erased because for some reason it has copyright violation and unfortunately it has a bad history of it too, when someone did the same thing 2 years ago, except it had no sources whatsoever, but still got copied from the School's website. apparently I got little upset that it got taken down, and i didn't realize i was copying off the other website, like i was just putting sources on it. so i wanted to say i'm sorry from copying the school's websites, using copy and paste and putting the sources along with it. i did it because this school on wikipedia did not have a history or anything on there, with just blank information at the bottom and just the school info alright. David the researcher (talk) 16:58, 27 December 2024 (UTC)

@David the researcher no worries at all! Thank you for your efforts to expand the school's article, but please be aware of the copyright policy when editing in the future. Let me know if you need more help. User:CanonNi (talkcontribs) 02:35, 28 December 2024 (UTC)

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material, the draft has been deleted. AlertAssistant issue

Hi CanonNi, the following entry appears in AlertAssistant for me:

Additionally, could you please update to include Wikipedia:Contentious topics/Yasuke? Finally, not an issue with the script, but would you consider adding support for the gs templates, or, if you're feeling ambitious, expanding the userscript to enable adding talk page or editnotice templates? Thanks, voorts (talk/contributions) 22:50, 28 December 2024 (UTC)

Hi @Voorts, I'll look into the issue and (hopefully) update the script to fix it soon. Yasuke should be an easy addition, but gs uses a different set of codes, so implementing that might be harder. Either way, I'll let you know when the changes are ready. Thanks for the message! User:CanonNi (talkcontribs) 10:54, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
Thanks, voorts (talk/contributions) 14:24, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
@Voorts, the script should be fixed now. I also switched from using Morebits to OOUI to make it look more modern, though usage is the same. Let me know if there are any problems. Thanks, User:CanonNi (talkcontribs) 09:24, 30 December 2024 (UTC)

Codex

I was wondering why you chose to rewrite AlertAssistant in OOUI instead of mw:Codex, which is replacing and deprecating OOUI, especially for things that don't need certain features only OOUI has right now. I also wonder if you've heard of comboboxes (OOUI, Codex). Still, it's pretty cool to see another OOUI script! Aaron Liu (talk) 22:05, 30 December 2024 (UTC)

@Aaron Liu hmm... I didn't know Codex existed when I rewrote it (which is weird considering how it's mentioned in a massive box in OOUI's doc), but I'll look into that. Thanks! User:CanonNi (talkcontribs) 11:13, 1 January 2025 (UTC)

A suggestion

Sorry to disturb my mentor. Just as the fictional depiction I uploaded on Wikimedia Commons regarding,Kharavela at King Kharavela of Odisha.png was deleted and hence my page The photo has been removed from there too, so I wanted your opinion on which new profile picture should I put so that people recognize me regarding Kharvel. And please don't suggest about Kharavela.jpg picture as it is copyright of a king Harisha. And I also wanted to know, why my picture has been copyrighted and not his, Thanking you. Regards,Ved Sharma (talk) 13:02, 31 December 2024 (UTC)

@Kharavela Deva well, the image has been deleted, so I can't tell why it was a copyvio. About the other file you mentioned, I've tagged it on Commons as it also seems to be copyrighted (though I'm not certain). Also, no need to worry about disturbing me, feel free to ask questions anytime you like! User:CanonNi (talkcontribs) 11:17, 1 January 2025 (UTC)
