If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."

the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. Technical requests
[edit]Uncontroversial technical requests
[edit]- Sheikh Hasina Medical University Khulna → Khulna Medical University (currently a redirect back to Sheikh Hasina Medical University Khulna) (move · discuss) – Change to Khulna Medical University, as it is the common name and match with the district and division name[1], and Sheikh Hasina Medical University is also mentioned in the article. 2400:C600:4716:BD5A:1:0:6B8E:7FA6 (talk) 16:14, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
- Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Prayagraj → Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad (currently a redirect back to Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Prayagraj) (move · discuss) – At offical website ( https://www.mnnit.ac.in/ ) and everywhere elese it still has "Allahabad" in name, which is not replased by Prayagraj but Prayagraj is added after Allahabad as city name. It has a sister university/institute National Institute of Technology Calicut which also has old name of city in the name like it. 175.184.252.190 (talk) 19:24, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- Impact Wrestling Unbreakable → TNA Unbreakable (currently a redirect back to Impact Wrestling Unbreakable) (move · discuss) – Unbreakable 2025 was announced yesterday and has the TNA branding on it Unknownuser45266 (talk) 23:46, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
Requests to revert undiscussed moves
[edit]- Yenisey → Yenisei (currently a redirect back to Yenisey) (move · discuss) – Undiscussed sudden move followed by a simple search-and-replace throughout the article, always a warning sign. "Yenisei" is not a romanisation, it's the traditional spelling of the river in English; note that the category is still spelled with I. Florian Blaschke (talk) 17:33, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
Not done. That move was done more than four years ago, which by WP:TITLECHANGES easily makes it the stable title. Best to open a discussion rather than to revert it after all this time. Chaotic Enby (talk · contribs) 23:00, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
Contested technical requests
[edit]- Wikipedia community → Wikipedians (currently a redirect back to Wikipedia community) (move · discuss) – better name Astropulse (talk) 06:55, 15 February 2025 (UTC)Astropulse (talk) 06:55, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
- The current title indicates that the article covers larger phenomena than just the vague mass of people called Wikipedians. Also, "better name" according to whom? ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 14:37, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
- This deserves a full discussion. * Pppery * it has begun... 16:41, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
- 2025 Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras season → 2025 SE Palmeiras season (move · discuss) – Per main article. Also for the previous seasons 2024, 2023,..., 2008. Svartner (talk) 02:15, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Svartner, are you suggesting to change the entire category of articles? ie. Category:Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras seasons. – robertsky (talk) 11:27, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, they changed the name of the main article and forgot to change the relative forks. Svartner (talk) 16:36, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Svartner, are you suggesting to change the entire category of articles? ie. Category:Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras seasons. – robertsky (talk) 11:27, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
- Mason & Associates → IAMJAMES (move · discuss) – The company rebranded, this is the correct title now Jamesmasonusyd (talk) 00:46, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
- Source? The company website is still referring to it by the old name. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 05:32, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Jamesmasonusyd This has already been contested on your talk page prior to this request, plus your article you created for this title has been denied. As such, this is a contested move and cannot be handled at this venue. You can start a full RM by clicking discuss next to your request above, but be prepared to present evidence that complies with WP:NAMECHANGE TiggerJay (talk) 05:45, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
- We need this a consensus for this per TiggerJay, and need a source that "IAMJAMES" is the new name of the company. ROY is WAR Talk! 21:59, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
- Note: This article is now up for AfD as it seems to fail GNG. Also of note is that this page has been largely copy-pasted to Draft:IAMJAMES which is currently held up for RS issues, which is the basis for the AfD of this source article. TiggerJay (talk) 15:31, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- Garhwal Kingdom → Kingdom of Garhwal (currently a redirect back to Garhwal Kingdom) (move · discuss) – More appropriate when talking about kingdoms in the past. S.S Rautela (talk) 16:52, 9 February 2025 (UTC)
- I don't follow that logic at all... "Garhwal Kingdom" and "Kingdom of Garhwal" both seem to mean the same thing, with the former slightly more concise and ngrams not hugely conclusive.[2] I think I'd like to see a more concrete reason for this move if it's to be deemed uncontroversial. — Amakuru (talk) 10:05, 10 February 2025 (UTC)

- Mark to model → Mark-to-model (currently a redirect back to Mark to model) (move · discuss) – standardize with Mark-to-market Tule-hog (talk) 22:50, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
- The comparison is named Mark-to-market accounting so the hyphenation makes sense. Mark to model by itself would likely not need hyphenation. –CWenger (^ • @) 02:32, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- Note it is hyphenated throughout the article regardless of an appended 'accounting'. Tule-hog (talk) 07:13, 13 February 2025 (UTC)

- Feldenkrais Method → Feldenkrais method (currently a redirect back to Feldenkrais Method) (move · discuss) – per MOSCAPS Primergrey (talk) 06:58, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Primergrey: You haven't provided any reason to believe that this phrase isn't "consistently capitalized in a substantial majority of independent, reliable sources" (MOS:CAPS). A Google Ngrams search suggests that it likely is. This move is potentially controversial, so it would require a requested-move discussion. If you decide to open one, I would urge you to explain why you believe the standard of MOS:CAPS is not met. You can remove this request after opening a discussion (or if you do not want to continue). - From the MOSCAPS page, phrases like "Hermitian matrix or Lorentz transformation, Down syndrome" are not capped. Every move is potentially controversial, so unless you yourself have a problem with it...Primergrey (talk) 09:50, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
- I'm not so sure that MOS:SCIMATH applies to alternative medicine. And as noted here at Wikipedia:Requested moves/Controversial, the discussion process is used for potentially controversial moves. SilverLocust 💬 11:16, 14 February 2025 (UTC)

- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Siberian Wikipedia (2 nomination) → Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Siberian Wikipedia (2nd nomination) (currently a redirect instead to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Siberian Wikipedia (3rd nomination)) (move · discuss) – Ordinal numbers are used for WP:AFD nominations instead of cardinal numbers. PK2 (talk; contributions) 00:11, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
- @PK2: I don't think that's a good idea – it would break all existing links to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Siberian Wikipedia (2nd nomination) that are intended for the 2010 discussion rather than the 2009 discussion, including links in edit summaries (which cannot be altered). jlwoodwa (talk) 01:36, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
- Gaye holud → Gaye Holud (currently a redirect back to Gaye holud) (move · discuss) – Grammatical error Ahammed Saad (talk) 20:37, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
- Not clear what you mean by "grammatical error", the rest of the article seems to use the term in lowercase. Chaotic Enby (talk · contribs) 22:56, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Ahammed Saad Please give a clarification to the above. ~/Bunnypranav:<ping> 07:48, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
- Gaye Holud is Bengali term for the ceremony is a proper noun. So it should be capitalised I guess. I will fix the word after being moved. Ahammed Saad (talk) 13:10, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
- Bangabandhu Military Museum → Bangladesh Military Museum (currently a redirect back to Bangabandhu Military Museum) (move · discuss) – official name changed . After the fall of the Sheikh Hasina led Awami League government, Bangabandhu Military Museum was renamed to its previous name Bangladesh Military Museum. Niasoh ❯❯❯ Wanna chat? 16:55, 14 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Niasoh: The website doesn't indicate an official name change – the URL is still BangabandhuMilitaryMuseum.com. My Google search shows use of both names, so I'd suggest a requested move if you think Bangladesh Military Museum is the WP:COMMONNAME. Lord Bolingbroke (talk) 20:28, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Lord Bolingbroke Thanks for your response,
- The website URL hasn't been updated yet, I know, but after the fall of Hasina's government, many things have changed, but their official website URL has not changed yet; just the name has changed. [3][4][5] Bangladesh Military Museum was its old name, and from 1987 to 2016, and then former PM Hasina renamed it after her father, so Bangladesh Military Museum is kind of a common name, but from 2017 to 2024, it's known as Bangabandhu Military Museum. Niasoh ❯❯❯ Wanna chat? 20:59, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Niasoh: Thanks for these sources. While the articles mention a number of institutions that had "Bangabandhu" removed from their name, I'm not seeing any mention of a name change for the museum specifically. Since the name change was fairly recent, there's a strong case to move back to Bangladesh Military Museum per WP:COMMONNAME, but I still think it would be better to discuss to avoid any controversy. Lord Bolingbroke (talk) 21:11, 16 February 2025 (UTC)

Administrator needed
[edit]- User:Rusalkii/Johnlock → Johnlock (move · discuss) – Publishing a draft. The page is admin protected (!) Rusalkii (talk) 22:23, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
Endorsed Appears to meet GNG. At the very least, this should be discussed at AfD if notability is a concern. Looks like the salted title was never the subject of an AfD. Lord Bolingbroke (talk) 00:34, 17 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Lord Bolingbroke it was not salted for notability issue but, fans were repeatedly recreating the page with absolute rubbish (by rubbish, I mean things like spamming "PLEASE KISS" in the content or having a one sentence page with no references or anything else). There simply wasn't a serious effort at producing a proper article. I will leave it to other admins to work on this as I am pressed for time to be able to continue here. – robertsky (talk) 00:46, 17 February 2025 (UTC)
