Architecture Wikiproject

[edit]

Hi, many thanks for all your architecture and design edits. I was wondering if you might be interested in joining Wikipedia:WikiProject Architecture. Also we've been revamping the Architecture Portal and nominations to Portal:Architecture/Selected picture candidates and Portal:Architecture/Selected article candidates will always be welcome.--Mcginnly 08:58, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome

[edit]

How are you (apa kabar) Chaerani? And welcome to Wikipedia! Just to let you know, at the Indonesian WikiProject there are a group of editors collaborating to improve the articles related to Indonesia. We hope you can join us to make the project even better!

Here are some Indonesia-related project resources which may be of use:

Hope you find these useful. If not you can improve them, it's Wikipedia!
Okay, happy editing and take care.

Cheers -- Imoeng 12:14, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Indonesia Collaboration

[edit]

Hey there, I just want to ask for your suggestion. As we all know, there are just few "good" Indonesian articles, which means lots of effort is needed to improve them. What do you reckon about this collaboration plan? Please put any suggestion and respond on the WikiProject's talk page. Cheers, take care -- Imoeng 11:57, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Collaboration

[edit]

The new collaboration page has been created. For now, it is a "collaboration of the week" with standard rules and stuff, which later we can decide for any changes. But now, lets start nominating articles (one article for each person!) and voting. Please take a look at the page. Cheers -- Imoeng 11:21, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not toxicodendron

[edit]

Hi Chaerani - sorry, I don't know what it is; I just know the genus Toxicodendron well enough to know your plant is something different (e.g. all Toxicodendron have compound leaves divided into 3 or more leaflets, your plant has undivided leaves). Try posting it on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Plants to see if any of the regulars there can identify it. Good luck! - MPF 00:06, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gak papa kok, gak usah buru2, hehehe, tapi usahain juga. Soalnya kita lagi agak kekurangan orang nih, kan lingkup projectnya gede banget. Oke2, ditunggu yaa, hehehe. Cheers -- Imoeng 00:46, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Urbepedia

[edit]

Maaf, lambat balasanku...

Urbepedia looks good. I'm impressed to see your article on the KIP there (could that be adapted to here as well?)

my name is Meutia Chaerani from Singapore. I volunteered helped out in the Urbepedia at Urbepedia. It is a newly set up wiki focusing on Urban issues, and currently needing more contributors. I'd like to invite your participation in the wiki. Also need to brainstorm more on how the Urbepedia can be different yet complementing to information already existing in Wikipedia.

We have faced the same issue at Appropedia. I have argued that "encyclopedic" material should not be encouraged - the less overlap, the better.

At this stage, i'm thinking that Urbepedia would be more detailed and more technical, and also acts as repository of best urban practices from around the world, as well as repository of contact information of urban experts. Whereas wikipedia is aimed for a broader audience, the article should be easy to grasp to different kind of people, from kids to adults. In that sense, urbepedia is different from wikipedia, but of course, we can link both wikipedia and urbepedia together in the article page.

Sounds good. Urbepedia could also allow things like original research (e.g. theses), articles or essays with a certain POV (and flagged as such), and project writeups.

We hope that you'd be interested to get involved.

Not right now, I'm sorry - I keep getting involved in things and never get my work done - and if I keep doing this what will I eat? :) But I will keep watching, and will probably get involved at some point.

I also like helping to link relevant wikis together, and I have listed it at WikiIndex:Urbepedia. You may wish to upload the logo and link it there.

Wikiproject Indonesia Newsletter

[edit]
WikiProject Indonesia has grown incredibly! Two months ago, when the project was created, there were only two members, but now, we have got over 20 members, and hopefully it will keep increasing. Because of this large number, now WikiProject Indonesia has it's own newsletter, which will be delivered every week on Monday morning, around 22:00 (UTC). If you have any idea and suggestions, please do not hesitate to contribute to the next newsletters. We also need to find a better banner for the newsletter, so just post it on project's talk page. With your help, we can reach the even the impossible goal!
"Bersatu kita teguh, bercerai kita runtuh"
What's new?
Several ways to increase the interactions between editors have been proposed. For now, the best solution would be the IRC Channel just for WikiProject Indonesia. Please go to #wikipedia-id if you have had experiences with IRC Channels. Or read the instructions at Wikipedia:IRC.

Three new barnstar design have been proposed! If you find a great editor with excellent contributions to Indonesia-related articles, give him/her a barnstar, or maybe two or three! See the barnstars at Wikiproject Indonesia Barnstars.

Articles improvements
The previous two weeks were maybe the best and tiring week for some of us. On the good side, we have got a new Good Article, which is Toraja. Congratulations for all editors who have involved in the expansion. Yet we have failed to get two Good Article status, which are Tourism in Indonesia and Indonesia. However with the spirit of 1945 we will always accomplish many things!

Starting this week (October 17), the collaboration durations have been extended, so now we can collaborate to improve a particular article for two weeks straight. Please leave any recommendations or suggestions on the collaboration talk page.

Many thanks to MartinBotII, a state-of-the-art Martinp23's bot for delivering the newsletter

Java collaboration

[edit]

Hi Chaerani! Starting today, the Indonesia Collaboration is Java. Come along and help make this an article worthy of the world’s greatest island. There’s a suggested to-do list on the the talk page to which you can add, or just pick a task. All sorts of tasks are required, Images, Citations, Research, Copy Edit; you name it, it needs to be done – this important article needs your help!! Regards -- Imoeng 08:37, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Indonesia Newsletter

[edit]
Last week, two more members have joined the project, and really boost the progress of articles editing. Danny Yee and Lestari, welcome to the project, hopefully you will enjoy your stay. So, we officially have got 26 members!

More than 440 articles have been tagged with the WikiProject Indonesia template, well done to all editors who have contributed this far. Also, while copy-editing is a very useful thing to do, researching and expanding the article, or maybe one or two sections would be extremely useful, because it is the goal of the collaboration, expanding and getting a good article status.

What's new?
Several ways to increase the interactions between editors have been proposed. For now, the best solution would be the IRC Channel just for WikiProject Indonesia. Please go to #wikipedia-id if you have had experiences with IRC Channels. Or read the instructions at Wikipedia:IRC.

For people who choose not to receive this newsletter, please add your name to this list. Instead of receiving this newsletter, the bot will only send you the link to a particular newsletter.

Articles improvements
We have got another Good Article nomination! Congratulations to all editors, especially Indon, who have improved it significantly, maybe you can give six barnstars. So, with the nomination, we officially have had four good articles. Hopefully we can get plenty good articles in the future, or even featured articles.

The last collaboration was not a huge success, the Pulau Dewata is still a "start" article and has not improved much. However, seems like the collaboration spirit is back and Java has improved gradually, thanks to all editors.

Many thanks to MartinBotII, a state-of-the-art Martinp23's bot for delivering the newsletter

If you prefer to get a link to the next newsletters instead of receiving them, please add your name to this list.

Hi Chaerani! It's the last few days of the Garuda Indonesia collaboration. Please contribute!!!

Also, could you please vote for the next fortnight's collaboration? Please vote down the bottom of this page. The collab for the fortnight will be decided this Sunday 26th (or Monday at the latest). By the way, we could also chose Garuda Indonesia for another week.

So please visit and help choose the next article. Any questions/comments, please let me know. I'd love to hear from you particularly if you have any good suggestions! :-) --Merbabu 10:25, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, Chaerani! This fortnight we've chosen: >>>Majapahit Kingdom<<<. Please help in referencing, check my newly added headings, improve prose, diagrams, but most importantly is RESEARCH so we can actually grow the article. Any other suggestions for improvement, please leave on the article's talk page. Yes, please discuss on talk page!
Also, can you please post suggestions for the following fortnight's collaboration. Please leave your suggestions at the bottom of this page. Hopefully i will remember to remind you to vote in about a week (someone else remind me!).--Merbabu 14:22, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there Chaerani. For the next two weeks we have chosen >>>Indonesian War of Independence<<< for the Indonesia Collab. Also, please vote for the next fortnight. Maybe we should chose a stub article. So far, we have had already longish articles and they are therfore hard to expand. Here's a list of Indonesian underdeveloped articles: [1]. Please let me know if you have any suggestions (or if you do not want me to message you about the collabs). kind regards --Merbabu 12:50, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Indonesia slang

[edit]

Hi, nice to see that you are still active. :-) Yes, I found the article in a really bad condition, full of can't-say-the-word words, so I removed them. The article should explain about the Indonesian slang in linguistics and social perspective, not about listing that kind of words only. I guess wikitionary is the best place to put them. lumbantoruan

[edit]

Several reasons: 1. It's my understanding that blog postings alone do not meet WP verifiability standards. 2. the Indonesion article is not in English, so it is not helpful in verifying the details for English readers. 3. the English news article referenced does not contain the same details.

Someone else fixed the footnote problem, but if you are still curious you can see it in the history. I will leave it up to others to decide if the Lumbantoruan paragraph stays this time. Sfmammamia 03:36, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your response. It's clear to me from re-reading the articles that the situation was ambiguous, even in Coleman's various descriptions, but I see no reason to argue it further. I raised the question of blog postings on the article's discussion page. I suggest you check out the response there. If the item is verifiable through the news articles referenced, then the blog posting as another reference is unecessary, IMO. Sfmammamia 18:55, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello everybody. I’ve updated the current Indonesia collaboration to > > > Central Java < < <

This article’s not in a very good condition but such a significant part of Indonesia, the cultural heart of the Javanese. Please contribute! Thanks to all those contributed to the previous collaboration Sidoarjo mud flow particularly Indon.

The next collaboration...

For the next collaboration in a fortnight, I’d like to try something different. Let’s chose a stub rather than an already well-developed article. Here is a list of Indonesian stubs to choose (there’s two pages). Please check the article's importance rating – let's chose an important and significant article that will appeal to a broad range of people. Please do not choose an obscure and/or esoteric topic that is not very important. Please place your nomination here.

Any questions, please let me know. Kind regards --Merbabu 05:01, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Nial Djuliarso, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Jarfingle 20:17, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Oh, I had no idea! If he's notable in Indonesia that's fine with me and I'll remove the notability template. However, if this is the case, it seems that the article should note his popularity in India because his resume/accomplishments are mediocore at best for a U.S. jazz pianist and he certainly would not be considered notable by U.S. standards. Again, I'll remove the template (and thanks for letting me know), but if you get the chance and can add some information regarding his repute in Indonesia I think that'd improve the article vastly!

Jarfingle 06:02, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely, Indonesian jazz pianist certainly is a start but including some of the information you left on my talk page (e.g., "Djuliarso is notable in Indonesia, having released recordings in major indonesian label, have appeared in Indonesian TV shows, and covered by medias in Indonesia.") is not once mentioned on the page. And, if as you say, this is what makes him notable it would seem prudent to make note of this in the actual article...when you have time of course!

Minangkabau

[edit]

Hi Chaerani, thanks for the food pics on the Minang article, they look very tasty. However, in my opinion it is best not to have more than 1 food related picture on the article to give a balance to the various aspects of Minang culture. They are also flowing into the religion section, which is inappropriate. Lastly, I have a concern they are not the best possible representation of uniquely Minang food. They are maybe best suited to a Minangkabau food article, something which doesn't currently exist. (Caniago 12:16, 17 May 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Notability of James Genus

[edit]

A tag has been placed on James Genus, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. greenrd 21:38, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Redcube-noguchi.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Redcube-noguchi.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 11:03, 16 June 2007 (UTC) [reply]

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:27, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion at Talk:Sarah Azhari

[edit]

I invite you to please join the discussion at Talk:Sarah Azhari.

Hello, we are seeking help with the Sarah Azhari article, created in 2013 & recently the subject of a deletion proposal. At issue was whether or not the Indonesian language sources establish notability. I am inviting you to the discussion at Talk:Sarah Azhari#Help with Indonesian language sources because you are in the Category:User id-N & have a minimum of 1,000 edits across all Wikimedia projects.

I realize that some of you are very busy while others may no longer be editing. Nevertheless, I thought it wise to consult with you.

Thank your for the work that you do on Wiki[mp]edia! Peaceray (talk) 21:06, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Ulil Abshar Abdalla has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Notability not established - profile clutches at religious ruling from a not particularly notable religious group. Not clearly WP:SUSTAINED coverage, or worthy of justifying a biography.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
