With this edit you added that Louis Alterie was born in 1886. What was your source to support this? Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 22:28, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- I looked at Alterie’s article, which doesn’t give a source. If you want to remove it, feel free to. Just make the same edit on Alterie’s page to keep consistency. Roasted (talk) 22:33, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- "Just make the same edit on Alterie’s page to keep consistency." No, stop adding unsourced content. Magnolia677 (talk) 23:01, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
Minor dash cleanup
[edit]Please note that en dash characters (–) are used for ranges, not em dashes (—). The difference is barely visible, but the latter causes articles to appear on reports. – Jonesey95 (talk) 20:43, 19 February 2024 (UTC)

The Children's Village
[edit]Hello; what move are you preparing for at Children's Village (New York? Redirects should rarely be moved, described at WP:MOVEREDIRECT. Utopes (talk / cont) 17:39, 3 March 2024 (UTC)
- I was attempting to move Children’s Village (New York), to it’s official name, The Children’s Village. The Children’s village was a redirect, which wouldn’t allow me to move the page to it. I tried to move the page to something different for a short period while I moved the target page, but it turned into a redirect to a redirect.
- I tried to get the page speedy deleted, as it’s a mistake page, but an editor removed the tag, as I didn’t provide a reason. Roasted (talk) 17:42, 3 March 2024 (UTC)
- I see, thanks for the explanation! Yeah, when moving pages, a redirect gets created at the previous title to ease navigation. If there are situations when you need to move a page to a title that already exists as a redirect, WP:RM/TR accepts technical, uncontroversial move requests like this one. In the future if you find yourself in this situation, that should probably be the place to look. If there's a chance that the move is controversial, you can also open up a Requested Move at WP:RM as well. Utopes (talk / cont) 18:48, 3 March 2024 (UTC)
Please explain your "Talk page header changes (assisted)"
[edit]Hi, I noticed you recently edited the page Talk:Illegal drug trade in Peru and left a generic edit summary "Talk page header changes (assisted)". I think this edit summary was misleading and you should actually state what you have added to or removed from the talk page header. In this case, I think your substitution of the active WikiProject Crime and Criminal Biography with an inactive WikiProject Drug Policy was a poor decision and contrary to the intent of the guideline WP:PROJSCOPE. Removal of a WikiProject banner should be discussed with the WikiProject team responsible for the WikiProject, and the reason why you chose to remove and substitute the banners should at least be explained in your edit summary, giving a justification for removal. As a result I have reinstated the WikiProject Crime and Criminal Biography. If you think I am wrong to do so, please start a discussion on the article talk page and explain your reasons for removal. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 11:32, 6 March 2024 (UTC)

Unref
[edit]Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I replaced an {{unref}} tag that you added to an article with {{Third-party}} and {{no footnotes}}, because there was still a URL to a source on the page (even after you removed the ref). The unref tag is best reserved for articles that really have nothing. WhatamIdoing (talk) 22:47, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
- May you please link the article I did this on? Roasted (talk) 23:26, 27 April 2024 (UTC)
- [1] WhatamIdoing (talk) 03:04, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
- I marked it as unreferenced as I do not recognize the external link to the official website as a reference. A link to an official website wouldn't count as a source in an article that is sufficiently sourced, so it shouldn't count on BluRadio. Roasted (talk) 03:11, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you mean by "wouldn't count as a source". An official website is a reliable source, so of course it counts as a source. It does not demonstrate notability, but we're talking about the {{unref}} tag, not the {{notability}} tag. Have you ever read the documentation for the {{unref}} template? Template:Unreferenced/doc#When to use might be helpful. WhatamIdoing (talk) 03:27, 28 April 2024 (UTC)

Angela (enslaved woman)
[edit]hello! I wonder whether you could revert the page move or if we should open a RFC on the page for Angela (enslaved woman) which was moved to Angela (slave). Language matters, and many people of colour feel that describing someone as a slave, rather than enslaved, is dehumanising. these sources are useful, see https://www.chicagotribune.com/2019/09/06/column-language-matters-the-shift-from-slave-to-enslaved-person-may-be-difficult-but-its-important/&ved=2ahUKEwid1Law_8aGAxUpQUEAHYpAD_gQFnoECDAQAQ&usg=AOvVaw1DBRSbIcfGnhcNs5E7cVx0 https://www.nps.gov/subjects/undergroundrailroad/language-of-slavery.htm many thanks Lajmmoore (talk) 12:43, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Lajmmoore, I'd say open an RFC. The "(slave)" disambigulator is more common (such as in Category:19th-century slaves, or Caesar (slave)) than the "(enslaved man/woman)", so a sitewide comment would be more helpful to get the disambiguation changed. Roasted (talk) 18:17, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

Infobox of community articles
[edit]Please do not remove section seperator (comments) from the infobox of community articles. • Sbmeirow • Talk • 12:40, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- Okay. Are the empty sections fair game? Roasted (talk) 19:06, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
- No / Maybe / Yes, it depends on the type of community and type of fields. • Sbmeirow • Talk • 12:11, 29 August 2024 (UTC)
- Some obvious fields don't apply to some types of communities, such as ghost town can be thinned down, you have to be kind of smart about it. If the population is zero, then obvious can't have a government.
- In some city & town articles, editors haven't gotten around to filling in some fields, but that doesn't mean those fields should be deleted, because they are place holders.
- The obvious ones that can be thinned down are ones where someone copied every possible field from Template:Infobox settlement, then never thinned it down to commonly used fields.

Deletion discussion about Lil Tony (Georgia rapper)
[edit]Hello Roastedbeanz1, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Lil Tony (Georgia rapper), should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lil Tony (Georgia rapper).
Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Vanderwaalforces}}
. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!

Do not add featured list templates
[edit]Please do not add Template:Featured list to articles, as you did here at List of Michelle Pfeiffer performances. Lists must go through WP:FLC in order to be promoted to featured list status. Hey man im josh (talk) 20:09, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- Okay. I just assumed it was. Roasted (talk) 20:12, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- Please do not make such assumptions in the future. A bot or an FLC delegate will add the relevant template to pages when necessary. Hey man im josh (talk) 20:14, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
Do not remove alt=
[edit]Hello. Please do not remove the alt= parameter from infoboxes as you did here per WP:ALT. It should always be present even if not filled out. Infobox parameters that still apply should also not be removed simply because there is nothing in them per Template:Infobox album. Ss112 22:00, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
Autopatrolled
[edit]Hi Roastedbeanz1, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.
Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.
Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 00:31, 16 September 2024 (UTC)

Periods inside of quotes
[edit]In your recent edit to Terry Pratchett, you moved a number of periods which I put back. Take a closer look at MOS:LQ, specifically: When quoting a full sentence, the end of which coincides with the end of the sentence containing it, place terminal punctuation inside the closing quotation mark.

Veronese Riddle
[edit]I owe you somewhat of an apology: I reverted your edit of Veronese Riddle due to the source being unacceptable, only to realize that the one it replaced was even more unacceptable. I have absolutely no time to repair now, but a good (not perfect, but very good) source in English is Ruggero Stefanini's entry "Indovinello Veronese", pp. 523-525 in Volume 1 of Christopher Kleinhenz's Medieval Italy: An Encyclopedia, London/New York: Routledge, 2004.
