Draft:Venhue
[edit]Hi it seems this is reading as an advertisement: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Venhue I am quoting the sources provided (The Today Show, NBC, Business Insider, etc.) is there something specific that should be removed as it's considered promotional? Thanks for your help! Nycrest (talk) 21:40, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- "The dining experience features a six-course tasting menu with beverage pairings, theatrical presentations and unconventional plating. Artificial intelligence is used to enhance both menu preparation, wine pairings and the restaurants aesthetics" sounds VERY much like advertising to me? Theroadislong (talk) 21:57, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- This is all demonstrated and talked about on the videos and the Business Insider article and it seems S0091 reopened it and i submitted and then they had to deny/reopen because of my Talk page wasn't updated. I reworded it based on feedback from chatgpt and my friend! Nycrest (talk) 22:27, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Nycrest oh, don't use chatgpt. For one chatgpt (or any WP:LLM, read that) does not know what the sources say and a Wikipedia article should summarize, in a neutral manner, the sources. In addition, it tends to use promotional language and above all, it should be your words. In short, chatgpt/LLM is horrible for use here. S0091 (talk) 22:36, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- Ah ok! Sorry. I didn't copy direct I just asked which words are better used as English is my second language and I don't mean to come off a Promotional, just tried using the sentences used in the sources Nycrest (talk) 22:38, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Nycrest if English is your second language, you might be better off writing in your first/most comfortable language then using a translation tool as a first step (they can be wrong too, which you probably already know), then only using chatgpt for a tweak or so. S0091 (talk) 22:46, 14 January 2025 (UTC)
- Will do thank you so much Nycrest (talk) 17:02, 15 January 2025 (UTC)

I think we may be trying to push water up hill
[edit]It's possible, of course, as blocks of ice. The Schools editor has embarked on the usual task to too much too soon with too little learning. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 23:02, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
- The recent additions to their user page gives a clue to the problem perhaps? Theroadislong (talk) 07:43, 16 January 2025 (UTC)
- True. It's an area I understand, though if you have met one perosn the next one id totally different. The way to approach this is with rules, not anything else. You will see that I have tried on their talk page. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 08:48, 16 January 2025 (UTC)
I don't think the user that submits this page to AfC understands they can't keep removing the AfC decline banners. I let them know once in the Help Desk area of AfC and now they've done it again. I added the notice back. Could you please assist me in letting them know they must stop removing the declines on the draft? Ktkvtsh (talk) 21:45, 16 January 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Could you have a look at this. You moved it from a users user space to draft and they subsequently have moved it into live space. It looks largely a good article, but there are a small volume of links, rather than citations. Would you return it to draft space, or tag and leave. Blethering Scot 18:35, 18 January 2025 (UTC)
- It looks as if it would comfortably survive an WP:AFD so best to just tag any problems. Theroadislong (talk) 18:45, 18 January 2025 (UTC)
Just curious
[edit]Do you work for Wikipedia? Also you misspelled encyclopedia.
" Comment: There are zero useable sources here and content like "musician who has shaped multiple corners of the music industry" is laughably inappropriate for an encyclopaedia. Theroadislong (talk) 08:08, 5 December 2024 (UTC)" Almonday (talk) 03:17, 19 January 2025 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) @Almonday: none of us "work for" Wikipedia, if you mean that in the employment sense; we're all volunteers. (Actually, that's not strictly true, there are some users who are employed by Wikimedia Foundation, but they are very few and far between, and are indicated by their user names.)
- And just FYI, "encyclopaedia" is a perfectly valid spelling in British (and maybe Australian?) English. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:35, 19 January 2025 (UTC)
- Almonday I had to look up the insult [1] ... "“jerk,” an American colloquialism, back to 1935, reports: “Originally: an inept or pathetic person; a fool. Now: an objectionable or obnoxious person." Please see Wikipedia:No personal attacks it can lead to a block. Theroadislong (talk)
AITA???
[edit]Hey T, can you do me a favor and take a look at the second section on my talk page and the related links and help me just "gut check" if AITA applies here? Feel free to respond here and/or privately email me. Thanks! TiggerJay (talk) 21:16, 19 January 2025 (UTC)
- Clearly you are NTA (not the asshole). Theroadislong (talk) 21:32, 19 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks. Just worth checking, sometimes a tenacious bludgeoner can make one question their own sanity, and its good to have a third opinion once in a while. TiggerJay (talk) 22:12, 19 January 2025 (UTC)
Hello I would like the afc comment you left on my draft deleted.
[edit]Hello I would like the AFC comment you left in my sandbox while I was editing my draft deleted. Edward Myer (talk) 22:26, 19 January 2025 (UTC)
- OK... but it looks like somebody beat me to it. Theroadislong (talk) 22:49, 19 January 2025 (UTC)
- Yes they deleted the whole draft. Edward Myer (talk) 14:10, 20 January 2025 (UTC)
- That’s correct because it duplcated an existing page at Draft:Bruse Wane (draftfied following Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bruse Wane) but you can still edit here Draft:Bruse Wane or here Draft:Bruse Wane (rapper). You could have deleted the routine comment yourself if you so wished though I don't understand why it was so upsetting? Theroadislong (talk) 14:17, 20 January 2025 (UTC)

article submission declined
[edit]hello, just wondering which of these things the article on Jacek Koziel draft was missing
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia. 2600:1014:A100:DC5B:E935:97EB:C970:AF1F (talk) 01:58, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
- Your draft Draft:Jacek Koziel is missing reliable independent sources, assorted profiles and IMDb are not sufficent to pass WP:GNG or WP:NACADEMIC. Theroadislong (talk) 08

External links
[edit]I understand that my draft's main body contains ridiculously too many external links and far too few secondary references. But I do want to have ONE section that lists my 40+ works with 3 source links for each (score, audio, video). Given your rule that external links must exist only within References, I need to understand the exceptions to that rule. I'm told that these do exist. Is there a way to designate ONE section in addition to References -- say, Works -- that CAN be populated with my Catalog's external links? (I'll work on getting rid of the other zillion.) PeterMcKenzieArmstrong (talk) 18:34, 21 January 2025 (UTC)
- It is possible to have a section for "selected works" but it doesn't need to be comprehensive and it doesn't require sources; it doesn't help AT ALL with notability though so I wouldn't worry about it. Theroadislong (talk) 18:42, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

Changes
[edit]Hey Theroadislong I see you made some changes to my draft Bruse Wane can you please expand on ti. Edward Myer (talk) 19:10, 25 January 2025 (UTC)
- I just copyedited one section for you, as an example of the neutral tone required. It is improving gradually but still not clear that they are notable. Theroadislong (talk) 19:12, 25 January 2025 (UTC)

Hello, I am writing to request assistance with publishing the entry for Women in Housing and Finance Pennsylvania. I am a member of the group but the intent is not to recruit or advertise - we do that through our website, social media and conferences - but to document the history of the organization. Our existence is part of women's history in the affordable housing industry in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the success of many prominent women in the industry.
I followed the format of Women in Housing and Finance NY's published Wikipedia entry: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Women_in_Housing_and_Finance
I can shorten it to reflect Commercial Real Estate Women's published Wikipedia entry, a similar organization: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Commercial_Real_Estate_Women
Please confirm what specific edits are required. Thanks!
Projectmngr (talk) 23:21, 25 January 2025 (UTC)
- Firstly see other stuff exists, the existence of similar articles has no n=bearing on the acceptance of ths one, the title is at odds with the content, the draft documents the history of the organization with virtually zero independent sources, that is just advertising here. Women in Housing and Finance is so bad that it should probably be deleted. Theroadislong (talk) 09:23, 26 January 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hello,
Thank you for all the clarifications you have given me and deletions of all articles not following guidelines. Please note, I am still learning, I am fairly new editor of Wikipedia, some of my edits might be wrong, but I am improving everyday.
If you are kind enough to advise, I will be more than grateful Ranchella (talk) 21:00, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
Question about Citations
[edit]I was wondering if you could help me with something. I’m trying to check if any of the original sources cited in the four biography articles I published contain personal identifiers, like usernames in the URL—especially in PDFs. Since some PDFs can display either the uploader’s name or the name of the person who opens them, do you have any suggestions on how to spot this easily? I just want to make sure that no identifying information was accidentally included in the citations. Logger67 (talk) 02:14, 30 January 2025 (UTC)
thanks
[edit]Hey T (can I call you that or just for friends?) - thanks for your comment on Draft:Optical_Pooled_Screening. I've been meditating on that as a new editor and am gaining a little confidence in how to focus around cited facts (or not, I'm new!). Maybe take another look sometime if you can? Draft
[edit]I saw that you rejected my draft, but I am new editor and still learning how to add and move things around. I will resubmit it with more independent references ahead. The references that i wrote are just some that I noticed what other articles have done! AnjaliJotwani (talk) 09:46, 3 February 2025 (UTC)
