ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message
[edit]Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}
to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:53, 19 November 2024 (UTC)

Infobox image format
[edit]Hi Ktkvtsh - thank you for trying to correct infobox images, as at Ibrahim bin Uthman Al-Baluchi and Henry Awards, but unfortunately, you are not fully correcting them
As explained at Category:Pages using infoboxes with thumbnail images you should be changing
|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]
to
|image=SomeImage.jpg
However, you are not deleting the "File:" prefix, so they stay in the Category:Pages using infoboxes with thumbnail images list, until someone goes back and deletes the "File:" prefix.
Just to let you know - Best wishes. - Arjayay (talk) 18:53, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
- Noted! Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I will make sure it is correctly done in the future. Ktkvtsh (talk) 18:56, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
Apologies if there was an edit conflict
[edit]Hello Ktkvtsh, I didn't mean to step on your toes. If you think that your review of Draft:This Consequence would have gone the other way, please feel free to undo my declination. Bobby Cohn (talk) 23:37, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
- No worries. I was tempted to decline for the same reason, too soon, so I'm happy leaving your review. Ktkvtsh (talk) 23:41, 8 December 2024 (UTC)
Ron Howell page
[edit]Hi,
This is User:Chief disambiguator, a golf editor. You noted on my sandbox that my potential page for Ron Howell is not notable. I do not understand why.
First off, I have not even attempted to publish the page. In addition, he seems clearly notable. He played on the PGA Tour for a number of seasons in the early 1960s and qualified for the U.S. Open and PGA Championship, both major championships in golf. He was also a finalist at the 1963 Australian PGA Championship and won the 1964 North Coast Open. (The latter event was immediately incorporated into the PGA Tour of Australasia once the tour was founded.) So he seems clearly notable. Any clarity would be helpful.
Thanks,
Chief disambiguator (talk) 21:22, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
- My apologies for clicking rejected instead of just decline. You did submit it to be published or I would not have been able to decline or reject it. You can still submit it again if you'd like, though I can guarantee you it will be rejected in its current state. I can not go back and change it, as it would conflict with changes you have made. Not a problem though, as I will leave a comment on it mentioning this mistake I made.
- On another note, the way you have the page formatted is 100% not how Wikipedia pages should look. Please check out the Manual of Style. WP:MOS. I am going to help you out by fixing the formatting.
- I really appreciate you bringing this to my attention. Ktkvtsh (talk) 21:37, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Chief disambiguator, I have updated it. If you do not like the changes I made, you are more than welcome to undo it. Ktkvtsh (talk) 21:49, 19 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Ktkvtsh, Thank you for the response however I don't really understand why you did what you did. Before I was just preserving some research; in no way was I attempting to publish a draft. It was certainly not ready to be published. Then you seem to have converted my research to prose. Why?
- Chief disambiguator (talk) 06:30, 21 December 2024 (UTC)Chief disambiguator
- I will undo it.
- you submitted it to articles for creation, otherwise I would not have been able to approve or decline it as a draft. Ktkvtsh (talk) 14:28, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
- I undid it.
- on October 6, 2024 you submitted the draft to Articles for Creation, at which time I declined it.
- don’t press the submit button unless you are ready for other editors to take a look at it.
- would you like me to provide you with the link showing you where you submitted it? Ktkvtsh (talk) 14:32, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
- @Chief disambiguator, you can see here that you did have it submitted to Articles for Creation. Ktkvtsh (talk) 14:40, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: Draft:Bible Summary
[edit]Hello Ktkvtsh. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Draft:Bible Summary, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The reason given is not a valid speedy deletion criterion. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 01:30, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for letting me know.
- Is there a different criteria I should have chosen? Or is the article appropriate for Wikipedia?
- It is clearly not appropriate to be published in its current state. I believe it is opposite of the purpose of Wikipedia. Ktkvtsh (talk) 04:03, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
- Speedy deletion is for very specific circumstances as listed at WP:CSD. You could nominate it for deletion at WP:MFD but I would recommend against it. Just let it languish. After 6 months of no edits, it will be deleted via WP:G13 without having to waste other editors' time with a deletion discussion. -- Whpq (talk) 04:11, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
- Understood. Ktkvtsh (talk) 16:29, 20 December 2024 (UTC)
