Current requests for reduction in protection level
[edit]Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin on their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.
- To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
- Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
- Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
- If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page, please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected, please use the section below.
Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.
Reason: The page no longer attracts vandalism as the subject is no longer contentious. The person is no longer active in politics and the page view is low compared to previous data. The page is only protected due to one vandalism attempt by an IP address which had not edited wikipedia since. I see no reason why there could be persistent vandalism once the protection is decreased. Therefore, I request that the page be no longer protected. CS012831 (talk) 20:17, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
- @CS012831: Biographies of still-living people are themselves a contentious topic. Have you spoken with the protecting admin? —Jéské Couriano v^_^v threads critiques 07:08, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
Reason: The article has been semi-protected indefinitely since 2023 over anti-vax edits. It's been over a year since then (closer to two years), so it might be a good idea to at least experiment with pending changes protection. The protecting admin Courcelles is currently inactive (last edit was in December and has generally been inactive for some time), so bringing up here. I'm aware of the current political climate, but as the subject is Japanese and not American, I don't necessarily see that as a major issue. This time, rather than full unprotection, I'm merely asking for a reduction to pending changes protection as an experiment to see if long-term semi is even still warranted (this is per the testing unprotection guideline). If the issue resumes, then semi can always been reimplemented. Narutolovehinata5 (talk · contributions) 08:48, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
Reason: There is so much false information in the content of these articles, it is unacceptable, please unprotect it to correct it Mahmood2028 (talk) 17:32, 17 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Mahmood2028: Even if this weren't protected under the auspices of WP:CT/HORN, the protecting administrator noted this article has had a history of constant protection, which is in the logs linked above. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v threads critiques 18:12, 17 February 2025 (UTC)
- @Mahmood2028. If you have suggestions for improving the article, you can make them on the article talk page. The talk page is not protected. — Malcolmxl5 (talk) 01:05, 18 February 2025 (UTC)
Current requests for edits to a protected page
[edit]Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here
Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.
- Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among
{{Edit protected}}
,{{Edit template-protected}}
,{{Edit extended-protected}}
, or{{Edit semi-protected}}
to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed. - Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the
{{Edit COI}}
template should be used. - Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
- If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
- This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

I would like to request that the information given in the page of Shambhaji Maharaj is not true at all. None of the given information in factual. Shambhaji Maharaj was never a man to oppress women. He was the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji and followed his father's footsteps of creation of swaraj. Aurangzeb wanted Shambhaji to convert. He denied to it which made his tortures to be continued until his death. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dhairu2006 (talk • contribs) 07:54, 18 February 2025 (UTC)
The current article contains incorrect information about Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The claims about his actions, association with the Mughals, and military strategies are misleading. Reliable historical sources show that Sambhaji Maharaj was a scholar, a brave warrior, and never supported the Mughals. He fought to protect Hindu dharma from Mughal invasion. Kindly review the article and correct the misinformation using verified sources.
False Allegations & Misinformation
❌ False Claim: He Defected to the Mughals
✅ Truth: Sambhaji never defected to the Mughals. He was held hostage as a child due to the Treaty of Purandar, but he later escaped with Shivaji Maharaj.
❌ False Claim: He Was Addicted to Sensual Pleasures
✅ Truth: These allegations were fabricated by Mughal historians to defame him. Maratha sources confirm that he was a disciplined ruler and a devout Hindu.
❌ False Claim: He Allowed Mass Rapes During the Goa Invasion
✅ Truth: There is no evidence that Sambhaji allowed any war crimes. He attacked Goa to weaken the Portuguese, who were aiding the Mughals. Akash seelam (talk) 12:43, 18 February 2025 (UTC)

Concise, well-written and sufficiently articles, mostly with a royal or Church of England focus. I looked at an articles of theirs as part of NPP, and found it to be up to standard without editing. Others look reasonable too. Klbrain (talk) 12:15, 18 January 2025 (UTC)
It is my 8th year of editing (4th with this account). I have written a number of articles of various types and none have been permanently deleted. I have made mistakes, but understand what they were and how to avoid them. About to publish many geography stubs (manually written, differing in content, not violating MASSCREATE - see Ledenice and Zapeć for examples). Articles like Cirsium greimleri, First Vrbnik Breviary, Petər Klepəc and Veternica are more representative of my work, though. Ivan (talk) 17:48, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
91 main space articles, 45 rated above stub, no deletions. I mostly create articles for albums or BLPs of musicians. GanzKnusper (talk) 09:26, 3 February 2025 (UTC)
I know my first articles are... bad, but my recent pages, Yumeshima Station, Meitetsu KiHa 10 series, Meitetsu 3400 series, and Resignation services should be good without being patrolled. ABG (Talk/Report any mistakes here) 03:11, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
The user has created 189 articles, and only two have ever been deleted—with one later restored. They have a strong understanding of reliable sources (WP:RS) and are well-versed in BLP policies (WP:BLP). I've reviewed one or two of their articles, and I believe they truly deserve the rights. AutoWikiBrowser[edit]
I would like to use AWB for repetitive editing tasks. I do these a lot for the projects I am a part of, and they have become very tedious. Edit: one of the projects I am a part of for a Church, does not have very many active contributors but a very large backlog. The effort to maintain the articles we have would be largely simplified by using AWB. Peace, Thorn6130✝ (talk, ask questions, dispute) 21:49, 17 February 2025 (UTC) |

Confirmed[edit]
This is a (new) alt account of User:RedactedHumanoid, and has been created with the sole purpose to edit articles that I do not want to edit on my main account (NSFW articles, etc). Most of these articles are semi-protected, so I am requesting confirmed rights so I can edit those pages. RedactedHumanoid66 (talk) 23:05, 16 February 2025 (UTC)

Arcticocean requested that, "If [I] wish to gain [ECR] again, the onus would be on [me] to prove that trust has been regained." To address this challenge, I would like to respond to the two concerns raised:

New page reviewer[edit]
Reason for requesting new page reviewer rights I have authored a few articles, improved the quality of many articles including adding high quality references and improving encyclopedic quality. I have also limited experiences in deletion. I also have just been granted AFC reviewer options and starting to increase my participation in that. Welcome feedback if I can qualify. Thanks for the consideration Trex32 (talk) 00:19, 10 February 2025 (UTC)
Though I predominantly work with redirects, at least recently, I also engage with new pages and would like to help further in the new pages patrol in reviewing for quality and to help with the backlog. I have made almost 46,000 edits and believe that I can help. Iljhgtn (talk) 16:30, 12 February 2025 (UTC)
I would like to be a new page reviewer, I continuously contribute to New Pages and having failed the previous request to be one, i would like to try once again having positively learned more and contributed to much more new pages. Pizza on Pineapple (Let's eat🍕) 07:54, 15 February 2025 (UTC)
I have authored a few articles, commonly support and help new editors, and enjoy helping the community by encouraging proper creation of articles and assisting with maintenance. Peace, Thorn6130✝ (talk, ask questions, dispute) 21:48, 17 February 2025 (UTC) |

Pending changes reviewer[edit]
I'd like to request pending changes review rights because I am familiar with the policy and this would help me with my vandalism patrols. Furthermore, I am currently trying to accept a request, but I do not have the permissions. Thanks! Ali Beary (talk2me!) (stalk me?!) 13:29, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
I have been an active contributor to Wikipedia and focused on editing articles, reviewing new pages & combating vandalism. I am requesting for PCR right to speeding up the review process for pending changes. I am familiar with key Wikipedia content policies, including vandalism, biographies of living persons (BLP), neutral point of view (NPOV), verifiability, and copyright compliance. I've also been involved in patrolling recent changes, where I use Twinkle tool to revert vandalism. With my experience and understanding of these policies, I believe that I can effectively contribute to reviewing pending changes. 𝐌P⚚𝛂n 𓃠 {✝alk} 20:05, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
I'm well familiar with Wikipedia policies. And in my spare time I am always on duty to combat any vandalism or violation of Wikipedia policies. This right will serve me well. Thanks! Vellutis (talk) 18:48, 16 February 2025 (UTC)

Requests for rollback |

Rollback[edit]
After starting with Recent Changes Patrolling I found myself in a very rewarding position, seeing that I can help other Wikipedians and the Wiki as a whole. But I also experienced the limitation of not having the Rollback right so I'd like to switch to AntiVandal or Huggle. Squawk7700 (talk) 22:20, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
after 2 years I got alot of editing, wanna test another experience. thanks QalasQalas (talk) 00:15, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
Hi. I've recently come across several instances where rollbacking would be faster than manually reverting nonconstructive consecutive edits. I don't patrol Recent Changes, but I am quite active and have more than 3,100 pages on my Watchlist. Thanks for your consideration. PRRfan (talk) 04:11, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
Reason for requesting rollback rights: The main thing I do on Wikipedia is watch the recent changes page for changes that are not constructive. I would like these permissions so that instead of having to click the article > click view history > click undo, I would be able to just click one button. This would make what I mainly do MUCH easier, and would allow me to more quickly undo nonconstructive edits. MersmanD (talk) 16:00, 17 February 2025 (UTC)
I go through period a of spending lots of time patrolling recent changes, and rollback would make my task much more easier and efficient by giving me access to tools like juggle, and antivandal. Wolfwolfnuke (talk) 16:45, 17 February 2025 (UTC) |
Requests for template editor |

Template editor[edit]
I come across bugs in template-protected templates from time to time, and I think I'm proficient enough to fix them without someone else checking it over. For instance, I recently submitted an edit request to fix {{Huggle/warn-unsor-2}}'s substitution behavior, and I found a similar issue in {{uw-editsummary2}}. I understand that edits to widely-used templates should be tested in a sandbox first, that they should reflect consensus, and that they can have nontrivial performance costs. jlwoodwa (talk) 01:51, 8 February 2025 (UTC)
