Wikipedia:WikiProject Internet

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Wikipedia:INTERNET)

Welcome to WikiProject Internet, a collaboration area and group of editors dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of the Internet.

(For more information on WikiProjects, please see Wikipedia:WikiProject and the Guide to WikiProjects).

Goals
  1. Document the Internet's common protocols and popular technology.
  2. Maintain and develop related categories
Scope
  1. The Internet as a whole, its history, current use, future, structure, technology, etc.
  2. Popular culture is excluded, and belongs in a separate project, as do computer networks other than the Internet. Some overlap is expected with the latter, however - especially in Category:Internet Standards.

Guidelines

[edit]

Although we strive to comply with all Wikipedia guidelines, there are a lot of them. The ones here are listed for convenience and also may be particularly helpful when editing Internet-related articles:

  • AJAJ, created by User:Danielbullis. First, this article was not "created" by me; I simply cannot find the original author. However, I have made the most significant amount of contributions - I wrote this article from basically a stub status. While AJAX is used by most web developers, it is not always literally used to refer to XML. This article discusses an alternate framework which uses JSON as the data model, instead of XML. While AJAX sounds prettier...it's not exactly accurate, now is it :]. Danielbullis (talk) 19:50, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
