Whats'ever N' Stuff
[edit]Hi, sorry about all the trouble I seem to have caused you. To answer your first question new pages can be seen at the page Special:Newpages, if you want to create a page that you can later move to mainspace I suggest creating a user subpage (see Wikipedia:Subpages#How to create user subpages) content can then be moved into the main article space when it is ready. To display references once you have added them using the <ref> </ref> tags simply add either {{reflist}} or <references/> to the bottom of the page, usually in a separate section as I did to the Lake Padden page [1]. Do not worry about the issues I mentioned in the page, the mere fact the information is there in any form is an improvement to Wikipedia. No article is perfect and there are tens of thousands of articles with tags like the ones I put on Lake Padden. the great thing about Wikipedia is that almost anyone can edit those pages and improve them. If you have any more questions about editing and using Wikipedia see Help:Contents or feel free to ask me on my talk page. Happy editing, Guest9999 (talk) 02:06, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
- thanks for the help, sorry, im still learning on this stuff. u seem like a pro. CallMeAndrew (talk) 02:12, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
- No worries, I wish I felt like one. Keep at it and hopefully you'll find editing Wikipedia to be a worthwhile and enjoyable pursuit. Regards, Guest9999 (talk) 02:15, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
Yo! No need to get all annoyed at me! It was probably an accident, since I am still getting used to Huggle. Just undo me, because I meant no harm! So sorry, but I tried to do it in good faith. Riotrocket8676 You gotta problem with that? 02:29, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
On top of that, it looked slightly like spam. I apologize, but you do not need to get all annoyed at me. I am happy when you report my mistakes to me, but please try and be civilized. Thanks. Riotrocket8676 You gotta problem with that? 02:32, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
You can change your signature under preferences, and using the "raw" signature option, you can format your signature using HTML. Hope I help. Feel free to copy my signature and replace my name with yours, like this: CallMeAndrew Custom text here Riotrocket8676 You gotta problem with that? 02:35, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for your contribution to the Wikipedia with your recent additions to the Lake Padden article and the Bellingham article. Have fun editing, and please enjoy a wonderful encyclopedia! Teledildonix314 Talk ~ 4-1-1 02:43, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
Stuff you could do
[edit]Hey, there are WikiProjects out there. WikiProjects are collaborations of editors. Since you live in Washington state, try joining WikiProject Washington state (Which you have) and look at HUGE scale projects, such as WP:Military History, and look at task forces and articles you can work on. Also, if you know a good topic that is not on Wikipedia yet, and it passes the notability criteria. See WP:CSD, and if you want to, make the article! Also, you could look up adoption. Look at this:WP:Adoption. Follow the instructions, and there! You'll be ready to go in no time! Hope it helps. Riotrocket8676 You gotta problem with that? 19:13, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
Cool. YOU should DEFINITELY get adopted. Riotrocket8676 You gotta problem with that? 20:41, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
Not me!!! I'm still pretty new here, and other people could adopt you. I'm not experienced enough. Grab a adoption UBX and slap it on your page. Then someone should come along and adopt you. Easy! Check it out. Riotrocket8676 You gotta problem with that? 20:50, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
Not really, with the exception of 4~'s and templates, most stuff has to be put in by hand (unfortunately)Riotrocket8676 You gotta problem with that? 21:48, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
Adoption
[edit]I'm willing to consider adopting you. First, though, I need to know why you're making edits like [2], [3], [4], and [5].
Guest9999 suggested you were attempting to improve the tone (as suggested at Talk:Lake_Padden), but that doesn't require blanking the whole article. And I discourage removing comments from your talk page.
Finally, try to be less rude to people like Riotrocket8676. Are you willing to address these issues? If so, I can adopt you. Superm401 - Talk 01:31, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
- Okay, no problem. Just consider the advice at Wikipedia:Ownership of articles. Even though you started an article, it's normal for others to try to improve it. I found out your edits by looking at your contributions (Special:Contributions/CallMeAndrew) and talk page. You can look at my contributions if you want.
- Anyway, welcome to Wikipedia. I'd be pleased to adopt you. Superm401 - Talk 02:54, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
- Lots of ways. You could start by visiting Wikipedia:Village pump to get a broader view of what happens in the Wikipedia community. And of course, feel free to ask me questions. Superm401 - Talk 19:25, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
Photo uploads
[edit]Okay, what photo do you want to upload? Superm401 - Talk 01:48, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
- Since you took it yourself, you can upload it at [6]. Feel free to ask again if you need help. Superm401 - Talk 21:16, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
Possible town consolidation
[edit]It looks pretty good so far. You provided all the relevant information, with a good source. If and when the merger actually happens, then we'll have to figure out how to handle it. The two options, as I see it, are to have an article for each district, or just to have one article for the consolidated town. The population of each is fairly small (of course, that's the reason the merger is being considered in real life), so it will probably make sense to end up with a single article. If the towns were exceptionally notable, it might make sense to keep a historical article about each town and/or the districts (which the town became), but I don't think that applies here.
I can help you more at when the consolidation actually occurs. Help:Merging and moving pages also provides some good information on how to merge two articles. Superm401 - Talk 20:05, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Requested article
[edit]That's great. I would recommend choosing something you yourself want to learn more about. That will make the research interesting. Superm401 - Talk 21:40, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
Invitation to Meetup/Seattle6, a focus group
[edit]Hello. I know Sumas is kind of far from Seattle, but if you are in the area it would be great if you could join us.
I'm part of a research group at the University of Washington (Seattle campus), and my group is reaching out to Wikipedians in the Puget Sound area. We're hosting a focus group designed to gather information on what Wikipedians would like to know about each other when interacting on Wikipedia. Our end goal is to create an embedded application that helps people quickly know more about others' history and activity on Wikipedia, and we feel our design will be much more useful if it's based on insights of users like you.
I'm hoping that the chance to help out local researchers, to engage in lively face-to-face discussion with other Seattle Wikipedians, and to contribute to Wikipedia in a new way will entice you to join us. The session lasts 2 hours and snacks are provided. Sessions will be held on UW Seattle campus - directions will be sent after registration. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated!
Willing and able to help us out? RSVP here. Want to know more? Visit our user talk page . Please help us contact other local Wikipedians, too! Commprac01 (talk) 21:29, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Creating a page
[edit]Just enter the page you want to create (e.g User:CallMeAndrew/Sandbox2) into the search box, then click Go. When you get to the page (e.g. http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User:CallMeAndrew/Sandbox2), click Edit, and type whatever you want. Superm401 - Talk 03:15, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with File:SumasFlood.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:SumasFlood.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by STBotI. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 03:59, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Quality and importance assessments
[edit]The quality and importance ratings are done by the wikiprojects. For instance, in the case of Everson, Washington the two projects that placed the banners are Wikipedia:WikiProject Washington and Wikipedia:WikiProject Cities. They're the ones that decide how to do assessments (though Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Assessment provides a suggested method). Of course, you can volunteer to help the projects do assessments.
P.S. Please create a new talk page section when you have a new question for me, and remove the fake new talk section from your talk page. It's annoying. Superm401 - Talk 02:24, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
Hi! I noticed you just added yourself to the list of participants at WP:CITIES, and noted that you're interested in cities in Washington state. We recently had a good push for Spokane, Washington, getting it up from WP:GA to A-class, to an WP:FAC nomination. Unfortunately, the FAC nomination was withdrawn after someone spotted some possible copyright violations in the text. If you wanted to help out with this, I think we can get it past FAC with some minor modification to remove the plagiarism.
If you want to see the previous FAC, click here.
Thanks! Dr. Cash (talk) 14:19, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
Redirects
[edit]It's called a redirect; it's used both to correct misspellings and the like and to direct people from a minor topic to a major one. However, you can create an article if you think he's notable on his own. Just go to http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Greg_Handevidt&action=edit , or click the link in the upper left at http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Greg_Handevidt next to Redirected from . Superm401 - Talk 10:42, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Image copyright
[edit]Almost every picture you find on the internet is copyrighted, and non-free. That's the default when someone takes a picture. There are some pictures under free licenses like Creative Commons Attribution, and the GNU Free Documentation License, but they're the exception. So basically, if a picture doesn't say anything about copyright, we have to assume it's not safe to use. Superm401 - Talk 19:14, 23 April 2009 (UTC)
- Okay, if you see a picture, and want to ask someone for permission to use it here try using one of the letters at Wikipedia:Example requests for permission. You would then upload the image starting at this page. If they do give permission, it will usually be under {{gfdl}}, {{cc-by-sa}}, or similar. Finally, check out Wikipedia:Finding images tutorial for a general tutorial on these issues. I know this is tricky stuff, but I'm glad to help so ask away. Superm401 - Talk 03:12, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

File copyright problem with File:LakePadden.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:LakePadden.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Radiant chains (talk) 08:52, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of File:LakePadden.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:LakePadden.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Radiant chains (talk) 08:53, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
Iced Earth band members
[edit]Hi Andrew, I just read what you wrote on Megadeth's talkpage about creating members articles and, if possible, taking'em to B-class. I went around the list of members page, but the ones that don't have an own article didn't contribujte to any release. Now here's what I came for... I went to Iced Earth's members page (which I'm trying to improve) and saw that Randall Shawver, Dave Abell, Larry Tarnowski don't have an article. These former members are one of the most imprtant in that band. If you could do something, just let me know. Rockk3r Spit it Out! 16:58, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
No problem. I know it gets difficult. Anything you find, anything, and don't know how to put it on the articles, just let me know, so that I can help you. I know how tough it gets. Rockk3r Spit it Out! 04:11, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

Thrash metal GA
[edit]Hi. I regret to inform you that your GA nomination of thrash metal has failed according to the quick-fail criteria. I suggest you take a look at the good article criteria and check to make sure an article conforms to those criteria before nominating it. If you have any questions about this process, don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page. Timmeh!(review me) 01:04, 21 May 2009 (UTC)
Guitar hero screenshot
[edit]I removed the screenshot of the Guitar Hero game from your userpage as a violation of Wikipedia policy on non-free content, which can be put only in articles. Thanks, Dabomb87 (talk) 21:13, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

We are currently looking to make the wikiproject more active, and in doing so, we need to have a list of active members on the wikiproject. If you wish to stay an active part of wikiproject metal, please add your username to Wikipedia:WikiProject Metal/Active Users. Conversely, if you wish to leave the wikiproject, please remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiProject Metal/Members. Thank you. |

Motto of the Day Help Request April 2014
[edit]→ By Heaven! It is a splendid sight to see
(For one who hath no friend, no brother there)
Their rival scarfs of mixed embroidery.
Their various arms that glitter in the air!
What gallant war-hounds rouse them from their lair,
And gnash their fangs, loud yelling for the prey!
All join the chase, but few the triumph share;
The grave shall bear the chiefest prize away,
And havoc scarce for joy can number their array.
Motto of the Day (WP:MOTD) is in a state of emergency and really needs your help! There are not enough editors who are reviewing or nominating mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review, and this probably means that you will notice a red link or “This space for rent” as our mottos for the next weeks and months.
Please take a moment to review the nominations and nominate your own new mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review and Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/'Specials. Any help would be appreciated! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 09:13, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
- This message has been sent by pjoef on behalf of Motto of the Day to all editors of the English Wikipedia who are showing MOTD's templates on their pages, and to all the participants to MOTD: (page, template, and category).
