16,000+This user has made more than 16,000 contributions to Wikipedia.
8,700+This user has made more than 8,700 contributions to the regular English Wikipedia.
4,400+This user has made more than 4,400 contributions to the Simple English Wikipedia.

I also regularly edit other websites operated by the Wikimedia Foundation (and a couple of other websites based on the MediaWiki platform. My core contributions, however, are on Wikipedia, and at one point, I found myself doing more work on the Simple English Wikipedia than the standard English Wikipedia - for the benefit of helping people learning English as a second language.

Believe it or not, I make edits on Wikimedia sites in languages that I don't know - including the East Asian languages known to natives as nihongo and hangukeo. You might be wondering what I do on these sites. The answer is that I mainly help fight the common phenomenon on wiki sites known as "vandalism".

1,100+This user has made more than 1,100 contributions to the French Wikipedia.
300+This user has made more than 300 contributions to the Dutch Wikipedia.
250+This user has made more than 250 contributions to the Spanish Wikipedia.
100+This user has made more than 100 contributions to the German Wikipedia.
450+This user has made more than 450 contributions to the WikiData site, which, frankly speaking, is not Wikipedia.

Hej! Could someone please tell me how to get these counter aligned to the right side of the page? Thanks!

I am a loyal fan of Microsoft Corporation and a member of their Insider program.[citation needed] So you'd probably not be surprised to learn that I use its products and services, including Microsoft Office and Skype. (I would like a Surface Go for Christmas, by the way...if only it wasn't this expensive...[opinion]) And did you know that my laptop (and previously my tablet and smartphone) all run (you guessed it) Microsoft Windows?[original research?]

JoystickThis user believes that Wikipedia is a video game, and because of this, he or she will never become an administrator.

I am an alumnus of a university[clarification needed] that has lent me a laptop for four years[needs context] and sold it to be me for a buck[ambiguous] upon graduation[when?]. It had ran several OSes[disambiguation needed] over the years - from what I can remember, I first got it when it ran Windows 7 Enterprise but it was later upgraded to Windows 8.1 Enterprise and in turn Windows 10 Enterprise.[according to whom?]

While I was studying, it was always joined to a domain,[where?] and once it became mine, I somehow ended up getting (and activating a licence for) Windows 10 Education[clarification needed] as well as Office 2016 (when it should have been Office 365. Would be a deal or no deal?[buzzword]) I want to convince my parents[who?] to purchase a bunch of accessories to build a personal workstation ASAP[when?] -specifically, an original docking station to which I will connect both a monitor that natively supports multi-touch[which?] and a pen display to mess up my screen.[unbalanced opinion?]

As if that wasn't enough, I am in possession of (and until early 2018, regularly used) a smartphone[example needed] which runs the now-neglected[neutrality is disputed] software called Windows Phone[why?] but as much I want to thank you again, Microsoft, for promising an upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile[need quotation to verify] - unfortunately I wanted to blame you M$FT[dubiousdiscuss] for breaking your promises over and OVER and OVER and OVER![how?] I will not do so because I do not want to get blocked again whether for evasion or anything else.[further explanation needed]

Here's what I ended up doing: "Throw It in the Bag"[needs copy edit] and replace it with a Nokia 6 (with the Microsoft Launcher and of course, Bing as my default search engine and Microsoft Edge as my default web browser[who else?] - all so I can get enough Microsoft Rewards points[quantify] to buy a Windows Store gift card to pay for Staffpad[dead link] (a scorewriting app that makes use of a stylus/active pen/digital pen).[jargon]

10 Quick Facts about me! I am (as of December 2024):

[edit]
  1. a Canadian-born Chinese living in the Agincourt North neighbourhood Scarborough, Ontario - my father is of Taishanese heritage and my mother immigrated here 30 years ago as part of waves of mass migrations from Hong Kong - and the only one in my family to emigrate before the influx caused by the Tiananmen square protests of 1989
  2. extremely fluent with Canadian English as my native tongue and have previously studied four years of Canadian French in high school - although my parents try to prevent me from losing my knowledge in Cantonese and Mandarin and had me regularly watch Fairchild TV and/or listen to Fairchild Radio during mealtimes
  3. a graduate from the software engineering program at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology in Oshawa (but slacked off quite a bit with my capstone course); later on, I got hired by a company renowned for its unique model of recruiting fresh graduates (like me!), training them to become IT consultants, and placing them with clients
  4. fascinated with information technology and computing in general - the fact that one of the courses I took recently was about mobile devices has made me excited alone despite my struggle in programming language named after coffee
  5. a huge follower the latest news about big-name information technology companies - aside from Microsoft, I also track new products from its original equipment manufacturers (e.g. Lenovo, HP, Dell, and above all, the maker of my phone)
  6. a subscriber to websites like Engadget, Mashable, and The Verge - but if I had to name one over the rest, the site Windows Central which offers lots of free goodies for readers (such as the latest Surface Pro despite its despicable price tag)
  7. filled with gifts and talents - for example, I have produced a number of doodles and technical drawings mainly about transportation and specifically public transport and am an active railfan (you might have noticed me editing a lot of rail-transport-related pages recently
  8. participating in a variety of sports - I have played soccer, basketball, badminton, and have hundreds of laps of swimming under my belt, believe me, though I have no intention to be a professional athlete - I'm even reluctant to take martial arts classes even though I have done so in the past
  9. an avid pianist with my ARCT-level performance diploma from RCM Examinations - I recently joined a worship band at my church and aspire getting into jam sessions, becoming a musician by night (though my schedule may make this difficult to achieve, at least in the near future)
  10. so excited to contribute to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia! Great things are in store for me if and only if I become an administrator, which is (unfortunately) unlikely for a reason that appears somewhere else on this page.

Look at all these badges! :-D
