Your GA nomination of El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron
The article El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron for comments about the article, and Talk:El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron/GA1 for the nomination. Thanks
Thanks for the exchange the review. By the way, one extra thing abou X (Mega Man). After reallizing most of the comments I wrote in reception were kinda fancrutt, I remade it to make it come across as sources that heavily focus the character similar to 2B's reception section (somehow got two scholars writing about X). You think the reception should be rerranged to be more tied up? I still think about nominating it to GA too after its copyedit. Cheers. Feel free to call me if you also need a review. Tintor2 (talk) 21:05, 31 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Tintor2: I think it would be a good idea to condense and rearrange a little. And it's fine. And we've already done the GA exchange with your review of El Shaddai, so we're all square for now. Good luck going forward. --ProtoDrake (talk) 21:48, 31 March 2023 (UTC)

DYK for Panzer Dragoon II Zwei
On 6 April 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Panzer Dragoon II Zwei, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Panzer Dragoon II Zwei features a villain inspired by Dune's Baron Harkonnen, visuals inspired by the work of Jean Giraud, and a fictional language? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Panzer Dragoon II Zwei. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Panzer Dragoon II Zwei), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Noticed you nominated an article. In case you are interested, I also nominated Mega Man X4 to GA so we could exchange another review if it doesn't bother you. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 00:56, 15 April 2023 (UTC)

Update, Nier
Hi there. What's up? X (Mega Man) became GA so I don't have too many projects to do in the future other than maybe X6. I have been playing Nier in the past days and wondered if you ever thought of giving the two Nier father and son protagonists an article to share similar to the ones from Persona 3. In Google scholars search, I noticed there are some articles discussing both versions of Nier and storytelling. Same with this this book from google books. Same with a google search of video game reliable sources focused on the main story rather than game reviews. In case you don't think it's worthy, it's okay. I just thought about it since I had to be careful with X before the nomination since I wasn't that used to the more recent discussions of what exactly establishes notabilities to the point some game reviews might not be useful. Cheers. Happy editing.Tintor2 (talk) 21:05, 20 May 2023 (UTC)
TFA
Thank you today for Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy, introduced (in 2015): "Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy is a subseries within the Final Fantasy franchise, primarily produced and published by Square Enix. It features games from multiple genres developed by different teams within the company and set in multiple separate settings, but they are all tied together by the use of a single mythos. This makes the series something of an oddity for both Square Enix and video game series in general." -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 06:22, 21 April 2023 (UTC)

On 8 May 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. Another Windows port I can't find
Hi there. As Mega Man X5 became GA, I'm trying to expand the next game, Mega Man X6, but just like X4 I can't find a source about its Windows port. Apparently, it was only released in Asia but I don't know if it's necessary for Wikipedia unless it's Japan. Would you give it a look? Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 00:53, 14 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Tintor2:, I've found absolutely nothing confirming any PC port was ever released in Japan. As for South Korea, these archived Koko Capcom pages this and this capture confirm the original South Korean release date, and that between 2003 and 2004 it was given an official PC release. I can't find any dates related to the PC version. --ProtoDrake (talk) 09:43, 14 May 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks.Tintor2 (talk) 13:54, 14 May 2023 (UTC)
- A fansite found it as the "The Obscure Mega Man X6 PC Port Has Been Preserved" It links me to this article but I don't know if this mention is copyrighted.Tintor2 (talk) 14:18, 14 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Tintor2: I'd found those, but I wasn't counting them as they don't provide secondary sources and seem to parrot Wikia date information. I've encountered stuff like this on other articles, citogenesis caused by additions to a wiki, be it Wikipedia or a Wikia. I double-checked EA's Japanese website at the time, and found nothing, and as to the port developer I can't find their website or independently verify what the Archive emulation page says as fact. --ProtoDrake (talk) 14:46, 14 May 2023 (UTC)
- Extra bit. I found this source for the Japanese PC publisher Sourcenext, which confirms both the existence and date for the PC version of MegaX5, and the existence and release date for the release of MegaX8. --ProtoDrake (talk) 14:46, 14 May 2023 (UTC)

X's voice
BTW, while exploring the Japanese article of X (Mega Man) I found this: commentary about X having a voice in his first game is mentioned as one of the weirdest things ever in gaming but I couldn't understand much what do they say even by translating with Google. Could you give a look if possible? It appears they don't mention it is Megumi Ogata but there is quite of a big deal about it.Tintor2 (talk) 22:11, 15 April 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for the review. Especially due to all those PC sources.Tintor2 (talk) 22:57, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
The article went GA :) I was thinking about the dual character of Nier based on how critics compare how their appeals are different depending on region, but I'm not sure if there are scholars enough too based on the current requirements to make a character article. In the case you find something and don't wanna work on it, feel free to send me the link. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 22:29, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Tintor2: In response to this, the entire section you deleted, and any further character articles, I'm of the opinion that all editors including us too need to tap the breaks on creating individual character articles. It's becoming a serious problem in terms of notability, clutter, bloat, and the fact that going deep enough into the internet can bring up anything. --ProtoDrake (talk) 22:43, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
- I'll be testing in in the sandbox. After a minor search I found several commentaries at least for the father version involving two scholars. I'll later see if I can find more about the brother. Honestly, I think 9S has far more potential but I'm more interested in creating an article about original Nier since there is so much commentary about how the design changed per region. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 19:40, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
So I kinda created Protagonist (Nier) after some research. Apparently, the reception was okay to PresN so I decided to give it a try. Feel free to revise anything you find bad. In fact I'm not sure if the title is kinda well considering KungfuMan told me that in a CD Drama he is actually called Nier. I managed to find interviews with the three English voice actors but the Japanese ones seem harder. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 22:08, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
Drakengard character articles
Something I was thinking about at work, but I know User:Tintor2 posted a Nier Protagonist article, and as far as I know might be trying 9S at some point. With that list restored would a Good Topic be worth pursuing?-- Kung Fu Man (talk) 19:39, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
- There are some google scholars who analyze the mental breakdown the character goes through. Another user was the one who told me about 9S but saddly is busy in real life. I'm not sure about creating it myself though. Still from Yoko Taro's games, I only played Nier and Automata so I have no knowledge about Drakengard. By the way, about Protodrake's contributions to Shadow Hearts, I sometimes see some articles that kinda focus on Yuri but I never finished the second game.Tintor2 (talk) 19:47, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Kung Fu Man and Tintor2: I once pondered a GT for Drakengard/Nier, either individually or as a combined franchise, but that petered out. I'd be interested in attempting that again (Reincarnation's showing signs of closing out, and Yoko's said the series is currently finished, so...). And Tintor2, as to Yuri...I really don't want to disrupt the Shadow Hearts GT. It's a dead series, there's barely any commentary on Yuri's creation or design, and the reception would be paltry since there's barely any actual comment on him specifically in reviews. It would be contributing to the current bloat of character articles, which isn't what's needed right now. --ProtoDrake (talk) 20:27, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
- I see. About the Nier protagonist, I don't know if we should include it but Yoko Taro kinda talked about whether or not he has a name. I'm pretty sure we can't use the blog as a reliable source but they appear to link a Japanese tweet. Also about the protagonist, I couldn't find information about his three Japanese voice actors in regards to the portrayal like the English one so the article might lack this tidbit.Tintor2 (talk) 21:04, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Tintor2: I'll probably get round to the Nier protagonist some other time. At the moment I'm drafting up a rewrite/expansion of Galidor: Defenders of the Outer Dimension, plus three GANs, so kinda busy. --ProtoDrake (talk) 21:30, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
Infobox claims its an American co-production. I can see no evidence for, or verification of, this. (Just because it aired on Fox Kids doesn't mean it was an "American" production.) Is there any evidence of actual American involvement with (IOW, U.S. financing of) this show? Or is it, in fact, just a Canadian series that also aired in the U.S.?... Thanks. --IJBall (contribs • talk) 23:23, 27 May 2023 (UTC)
- @IJBall: Since Tom Lynch Company is an American company, I was defaulting to calling it a co-production. It can just go, it's not important. --ProtoDrake (talk) 23:25, 27 May 2023 (UTC)
- @IJBall: Also, thanks for the little edits and tidying. I've only ever done anime up to now, a Western television series (let alone this one) is entirely new for me. --ProtoDrake (talk) 23:27, 27 May 2023 (UTC)
- Ah, OK, Lynch is American. But I think "Tom Lynch Company" is basically a showrunner's "vanity label". IOW, Lynch likely didn't put up any money himself – he just gets production credit as the showrunner.
- I'm going to ping Geraldo Perez to take a look at this, as this is something he (and I) have seen before, and I'd like his opinion on this... --IJBall (contribs • talk) 23:29, 27 May 2023 (UTC)
- Tom Lynch Company looks to be more than a vanity label for the show runner. It is not just financing, it is also creative control that matters. CinéGroupe's involvement looks to be animation only with creative control being the Tom Lynch Company. Geraldo Perez (talk) 00:18, 28 May 2023 (UTC)

Hi, I hear you work on series articles. If I need to, may I ping you for input on this article's GA nomination? I've not done a GA review or nomination of a series article, so I'd like to ensure that I don't get it wrong.
Also did you see the Dragon Quest Monsters trailer - Cukie Gherkin (talk) 03:36, 30 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Cukie Gherkin: Depends what you mean by input, as I've got a potential conflict of interest here. I worked extensively on the articles for Panzer Dragoon Zwei and Orta, and even tried bringing them to GA (Orta failed spectacularly and I dropped the concept). I'm not comfortable guiding the process of something with which I have such a close connection due to that potential bias. Helping correct points brought up in the review, I could possibly do that as any nominator would, but no more. (also no, and I've very little interest in DQ in general) --ProtoDrake (talk) 08:10, 30 May 2023 (UTC)

Hey, ProtoDrake. Thanks for offering your input at the sockpuppet investigation, and I would like to offer my condolences (maybe that is a strong word) for the borderline harassment you have received from Therealgamer1234. Cordially, Unlimitedlead (talk) 20:30, 16 June 2023 (UTC) |

- Additional applause, you handled the situation well! I tried to encourage them to drop the stick, but they strongly believed restructuring Wikipedia's rules was the better option. Panini! • 🥪 04:09, 17 June 2023 (UTC)
- Adding to the applause list, as well as apologizing that you had to jump through the additional hoop of a GAR, but at least the article now has a current stamp of approval. I hope that everyone weighing in will keep the article watchlisted going forward, so you won't have to go it alone! Unlimitedlead I jumped so quickly to close off that thread at FAC and launch the SPI (when I should have been sleeping) because I didn't want to see you inadvertently end up where I did, for doing absolutely nothing wrong but asking the wrong dumb question where some were waiting to pounce (and I don't mean the person who pulled the trigger). Even if it is removed right away (indeed, as soon as NYB saw it), the damage is there for eternity, so take care with sock allegations :) SandyGeorgia (Talk) 14:13, 17 June 2023 (UTC)

- Additional applause, you handled the situation well! I tried to encourage them to drop the stick, but they strongly believed restructuring Wikipedia's rules was the better option. Panini! • 🥪 04:09, 17 June 2023 (UTC)

DYK for Square (video game company)
On 24 June 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Square (video game company), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Japanese game developer Square was told to "never come back" by Nintendo after shifting production to the PlayStation? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Square (video game company). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Square (video game company)), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Final Fantasy XVI synopsis
Hey, so I saw you reverted my edits on Final Fantasy XVI. I recognize that my version of the synopsis may have been longer than the norm on Wikipedia. However, the synopsis in its current form feels incomplete and in some places inaccurate.
While my synopsis might have been overlong, the current version is rather brief compared to other games of this scope (including several other FF titles). Brevity is a good thing, but not if it sacrifices understanding. The current version, I feel, leaves out too much for a person reading the article, without prior knowledge of the game, to understand the story. For instance, the current version does not clearly state what Ultima is trying to achieve. The vague mention of “their return” is insufficient.
There are also some inaccuracies. For example, Ultima is not an avatar of the Fallen; the Fallen were an earlier human civilization who attempted to defeat Ultima and failed. The ritual at Phoenix Gate was not to prove Joshua’s claim, it was a pre-war consultation with the royal ancestors.
I hope we can work together to resolve these inaccuracies and find a happy medium regarding length and detail. Jogarz1921 (talk) 11:19, 30 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Jogarz1921: Actual inaccuracies should be corrected, so long as they're corrected briefly. The stuff that I removed was hugely verbose, and made assumptions about the narrative and particularly the ending. Did some tweaking, but adding anything more without trimming to compensate will just bloat it. See Wikipedia:How to write a plot summary. --ProtoDrake (talk) 11:53, 30 June 2023 (UTC)

Vanille
Not sure if she's still on your watchlist as an article, but I've revived it with some sources and will be working on it more after work tonight. Found a particularly massive one from Fanbyte with a few sibling articles to go alongside it that I feel ties the thing together, but I should be able to get it done and hopefully GA'd to avoid wrecking the Good Topic.-- Kung Fu Man (talk) 16:23, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Kung Fu Man: Don't forget about the XIII character article. That's got sources relating to Vanille's creation in her subsection that can be used there hopefully. I'm still sceptical, but I wish you luck. --ProtoDrake (talk) 16:25, 19 June 2023 (UTC)

- @Kung Fu Man: Double-checked. It's pages 508–511. Also found a source talking briefly about her summon. --ProtoDrake (talk) 07:15, 20 June 2023 (UTC)

- Hey it happens man! You'd be surprised some of the misnomers you find in Street Fighter stuff thanks to the wikia XD. I just wish there was more dev info on these characters. Ran across this as to why the characters speak with an Australian accent in the NA version but not sure if it can be cited as a source, possibly citing the spotify link directly? But the information is at shortly after the 18:02. What do you think? Also sorry for getting sick on you, between this and work got sideswiped pretty damn good.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 15:01, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Kung Fu Man: If you cite the interview directly, I think it'll be okay. When it comes to sites like this, certainly within the editing spaces I've used, websites like this are okay for staff interviews and such. --ProtoDrake (talk) 15:16, 22 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Kung Fu Man and ProtoDrake: Congrats on the GA! Need possible help with a translation
Starting trying to work on Kefka to get him back to GA, and found some dev info for his Dissidia version in the related Ultimania, but the scans available are extremely rough. Tintor suggested though you might be able to make heads or tails out of what's being said in the block of text next to his concept art though. Here's two different shots of the page in question if you're able to help: [1], [2].-- Kung Fu Man (talk) 17:30, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Kung Fu Man: I can't make out anything for certain, but at a guess it's saying the alt form's based on Kefka's god form from VI's ending. That's just a guess, don't take this as a translation. --ProtoDrake (talk) 22:32, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
Potential useful source
With the recent need of having more third party sources for characters, I went ahead with the Persona 4 protagonist Yu Narukami and searched for two scholars and two comments about his hidden homosexual relationship with Yosuke Hanamura modded through Golden and praised a lot by the writer. I also found this thread where it all goes about how the character designer regrets the way Narukami was written in spinoffs which might quite useful to expand more on the creation but I can't find the original source for some reason as my internet always freezes. https://www.resetera.com/threads/persona-character-designer-felt-they-went-too-far-with-the-p4mcs-yu-personality-in-spin-offs-based-on-the-communitys-interpretation-of-him.185652/ I'm not sure about keeping Izanagi in the infobox though considering, in the end, it's not that integral to the character unless we could find something about the design. Any idea? Happy editing. Also, thanks for making Ardyn GA. You planning to make Noctis the same? Tintor2 (talk) 19:09, 18 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Tintor2: The Soejima interview is taken from an issue of the irregularly-published Persona Official Magazine, specifically its 25th release published on October 31, 2019. This is the translated interview, couldn't find page numbers on a casual search. That issue also includes other interviews with leading staff related to Persona 5 Royal. And yes, I'm planning on making Noctis GA in the future, but it needs more work and tidying before that. --ProtoDrake (talk) 20:58, 18 July 2023 (UTC)
While searching for Zidane from IX, I found this Dissidia NT interview which has the most known characters including the Ebnglish actress of Lightning. Still I couldn't find a single thing about Zidane's Japanese voice, Romi Park, just like with Squall and wondered if you had found something that might expand more the creation section. In fact, I couldn't find that much about Zidane's design as English website don't appear to have his artist, Yoshitaka Amano, commenting on him. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 00:08, 24 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Tintor2: Sorry, no joy. Also, you'd best triple-check, as Amano wasn't the character designer. I found, and added to the game's main article, that the characters were designed by Shūkō Murase and Toshiyuki Itahana. --ProtoDrake (talk) 22:39, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
- I see. Thanks. For some reason I always thought the IX cast was designed by Amano.Tintor2 (talk) 19:47, 26 July 2023 (UTC)

Help with Japanese sources
Today I decided to expand the article Mega Man Maverick Hunter X after a long absence from editing Mega Man games. While it sure has content for most section, the development one is quite small regardless of artbook. I found this these old archives from Capcom themselves where the staff appears to discuss the game but I can't tell if these guys are meant to be developers or random fans talking about the game. The fact they use nicknames kinda confuses me. Cheers. Surprisngly, this was the game with more voice acting in the entire series but I couldn't either find anything from them either.Tintor2 (talk) 23:14, 13 September 2023 (UTC)
