New page reviewer granted

[edit]

{{safesubst:require subst|template=New Page Reviewer granted|1=

Hi Cukie Gherkin. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time-limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page or ask via the NPP Discord. In addition, please remember:

  • Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
  • If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Steps such as checking for copyright violations using Earwig's copyright violation detector, checking for duplicate articles, and evaluating sources (both in the article, and if needed, via a Google search) for compliance with the general notability guideline are mandatory and will take a few minutes per article.
  • Please review some of our flowcharts (1, 2) to help ensure you don't forget any required steps.
  • Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. If you can read any languages other than English, please add yourself to the list of new page reviewers with language proficiencies. ~~

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:45, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Source review

[edit]

Completely understandable. Finishing the source review would be greatly appreciated, if it would be possible at this time. I've been finding myself to be pretty busy lately anyway, so it's probably for the best to wait until after finals for a second try. If you have any suggestions for how to make the article more readable to a general audience, that would also be much appreciated. ★ The Green Star Collector ★ (talk) 00:29, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, I'll do my best to get it up to snuff. - 64.235.79.240 (talk) 00:52, 20 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Editor of the Week

[edit]
Editor of the Week
Your ongoing efforts to improve the encyclopedia have not gone unnoticed: You have been selected as Editor of the Week in recognition of your great contributions! (courtesy of the Wikipedia Editor Retention Project)

User:QuicoleJR submitted the following nomination for Editor of the Week:

I nominate Cukie Gherkin to be Editor of the Week for their incredible contributions to our coverage of video game characters. With over 17,500 edits (45% to mainspace) they have created so many articles and nominated so many GAs that I have given up on counting. Many of these articles are on well-known characters or games, getting decent numbers of pageviews. Our coverage on video games and their characters would be noticeably lacking without Cukie's diligence. A busy member of WikiProject Video games and WikiProject Anime and manga. This nomination was seconded by User:Vacant0.

You can copy the following text to your user page to display a user box proclaiming your selection as Editor of the Week:

To a Kinder World

[edit]

Hi there, just wanted you to know I removed a bit of your recent changes at To a Kinder World, just because it was an incomplete sentence ("According to AMEBA Anime Channel, the scene that received the strongest response was the reveal of Aira's death, followed by the..."). Looks like good content - can you complete and re-add it? Thanks! Jessicapierce (talk) 18:09, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I got totally distracted while researching that lol. I opted to not add it because in my investigation, I found that this is routine for every episode, so felt it might not be of significance, not enough to mention. Cukie Gherkin (talk) 18:10, 9 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
