Copyvio at Albanian Declaration of Independence
Hello to all! In its present form, the Albanian Declaration of Independence article seems to rely on directly copied and pasted passages from non-free sources. Someone with knowledge on the subject ought to perform a thorough copyedit and if possible introduce more sources. Constantine ✍ 17:06, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
100 DYKs
We're only eight shy of 100 DYKs. Let's make it 100. I'm working on Skanderbeg's Italian expedition but it's taken me a while (and will take me much longer) so I might not be able to write much, nor will I be able to make it DYK, but I will be willing to copy-edit and help with referencing.--Gaius Claudius Nero (talk) 18:25, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

I need help - D. Emanuel
Here on Robert Elsie's website can be found the list of people who signed the Albanian declaration of independence. There is someone with name "D. Emanuel" who signed himself on the declaration. His name is not listed in the section that explained who was present on November 28, 1912 in Vlore. His name is not listed in the article about declaration nor in the source for the list of the deputies of Assembly of Vlore in that article nor within category Signatories of the Albanian Declaration of Independence. Different categories for people from Albania and People who are ethnic Albanians
There are two main categories which deal with nationality and ethnicity of the people.
One is [[Category:People by nationality]] and another is [[Category:People by ethnicity]].
I noticed that Nationality: In some areas of the world, one's nationality is determined by their ethnicity, rather than citizenship. but still, as far as I noticed, all countries have categories for people which are their citizens and all (significant in number, except Albanian) ethnicities have categories for people who belong to that ethnicity.
What do members of this project mean about following the example of other ethnicities and citizenships and creating separate categories for people who are ethnic Albanians and people who are citizens of Albania? .
Comments are welcome.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 10:01, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
Help with Arian Demolli
Hello,
I'm with Wikiproject Unreferenced BLP Rescue. I was working through the backlog of unreferenced biographies of living people and came across Arian Demolli, an Albania TV presenter which I have not been able to source. I was wondering if a member of Wikiproject Albania could lend a hand. Is there a non-English reliable source available to verify the materials in the article? Is the TV presenter notable? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 20:59, 12 May 2011 (UTC)
- An article on TV ERA, the only channel exclusively broadcasted in Albanian language in Macedonia, is much needed in Wikipedia. Personally I am not convinced that Arian Demolli himself passes WP:ENT, although this may be only the result of the status of underdevelopment of the media on Albanian personalities in Macedonia, or of my inability to find internet sources, and my ignorance on Macedonia in general. Note that he wouldn't have any notability for his soccer skills per WP:NSOCCER--Doktor Plumbi (talk) 11:37, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks! The article is currently under a PROD. -- Whpq (talk) 11:19, 15 May 2011 (UTC)

New stub templates
Hi all - just a heads-up that, because of the very large number of Albania geography stubs, there are now twelve new stub templates relating to Albanian geography, one for each of the counties of Albania. At present, they do not have separate categories, though those will probably be created, dependant on the number of stubs which use the new templates. The new templates are simply named for the 12 counties, as follows:
- {{Berat-geo-stub}}
- {{Dibër-geo-stub}}
- {{Durrës-geo-stub}}
- {{Elbasan-geo-stub}}
- {{Fier-geo-stub}}
- {{Gjirokastër-geo-stub}}
- {{Korçë-geo-stub}}
- {{Kukës-geo-stub}}
- {{Lezhë-geo-stub}}
- {{Shkodër-geo-stub}}
- {{Tirana-geo-stub}}
- {{Vlorë-geo-stub}}
I hope they will be as useful for your project as they will almost certainly be for us stub-sorters! Please contact us at WT:WSS if you have any questions or suggestions about the new stubs. Cheers! Grutness...wha? 07:56, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- Note: Please do not create separate categories yet for these templates - they will be created soon enough if certain stub-sorting criteria are met (mainly relating to numbers of stubs currently using the templates). Grutness...wha? 03:11, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

Election confusion
Is anyone able to assist in clarifying the date of an election in 1923 or 1924. An existing article claims they were held in September 1923. This source claims they were held on 27 December 1923. The Library of Congress Country Studies claims early 1924. The Times reports election results in mid-January.
There is also confusion about the election results. The Times contradicts itself by saying the Democratic Party won 35 seats, Zog supporters won 26, independents won 26 and the Popular Party won 18 (giving a total of 105) but says there were only 95 seats. This source says Zog supporters won 40 seats.
Any assistance on clarifying when the election took place and the seat distribution would be most appreciated. Cheers, Number 57 18:48, 17 March 2013 (UTC)

Dear Wikipedians, we are a Croatian team of researchers who are looking at the editing dynamics on different language Wikipedias and are focusing specifically on the topic of Kosovo. We are looking for editors who have participated in editing, or discussing, articles about this topic, and who would be willing to be interviewed for the purpose of this research project. This is a project approved by the Wikimedia Foundations´ Research Committee and you can find more information on this meta-wiki page. Research results will be published under an open access license and your participation would be much appreciated. The List of Romanian words of possible Dacian origin article has been proposed for deletion. It contains a lot of references to Albanian and your opinions are welcomed.--Codrin.B (talk) 14:45, 17 November 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, that list is important for the history of the Albanian people as well. It is often applied to demonstrate that the Albanians migrated to Albania from Dacian territory or they are in fact half-Romanized Carpians who moved from their homelands in present-day Romania and Ukraine to the Balkans in the 3rd and 4th centuries. Popular pages tool update
As of January, the popular pages tool has moved from the Toolserver to Wikimedia Tool Labs. The code has changed significantly from the Toolserver version, but users should notice few differences. Please take a moment to look over your project's list for any anomalies, such as pages that you expect to see that are missing or pages that seem to have more views than expected. Note that unlike other tools, this tool aggregates all views from redirects, which means it will typically have higher numbers. (For January 2014 specifically, 35 hours of data is missing from the WMF data, which was approximated from other dates. For most articles, this should yield a more accurate number. However, a few articles, like ones featured on the Main Page, may be off).
Web tools, to replace the ones at tools:~alexz/pop, will become available over the next few weeks at toollabs:popularpages. All of the historical data (back to July 2009 for some projects) has been copied over. The tool to view historical data is currently partially available (assessment data and a few projects may not be available at the moment). The tool to add new projects to the bot's list is also available now (editing the configuration of current projects coming soon). Unlike the previous tool, all changes will be effective immediately. OAuth is used to authenticate users, allowing only regular users to make changes to prevent abuse. A visible history of configuration additions and changes is coming soon. Once tools become fully available, their toolserver versions will redirect to Labs.
If you have any questions, want to report any bugs, or there are any features you would like to see that aren't currently available on the Toolserver tools, see the updated FAQ or contact me on my talk page. Mr.Z-bot (talk) (for Mr.Z-man) 04:50, 23 February 2014 (UTC)

Leaflet For Wikiproject Albania At Wikimania 2014
Hi all,
My name is Adi Khajuria and I am helping out with Wikimania 2014 in London.
One of our initiatives is to create leaflets to increase the discoverability of various wikimedia projects, and showcase the breadth of activity within wikimedia. Any kind of project can have a physical paper leaflet designed - for free - as a tool to help recruit new contributors. These leaflets will be printed at Wikimania 2014, and the designs can be re-used in the future at other events and locations.
This is particularly aimed at highlighting less discoverable but successful projects, e.g:
• Active Wikiprojects: Wikiproject Medicine, WikiProject Video Games, Wikiproject Film
• Tech projects/Tools, which may be looking for either users or developers.
• Less known major projects: Wikinews, Wikidata, Wikivoyage, etc.
• Wiki Loves Parliaments, Wiki Loves Monuments, Wiki Loves ____
• Wikimedia thematic organisations, Wikiwomen’s Collaborative, The Signpost
For more information or to sign up for one for your project, go to:

Controversial recent changes of Albanian settlement into Bulgarian/Macedonian names in the English Wikipedia
User:Local hero today moved a lot of settlements in Albania, into their Bulgarian (or Macedonian, not sure) name.
As a result, after 10 years of having these settlement in the English wikipedia with their own official names, now we have the following:
- Golloborda has become Golo_Brdo_(Albania)
- Zaroshkë has become Zrnovsko
- Lajthizë has become Leska
- Kallamas has become Tuminec
- Goricë e Vogël has become Dolna Gorica
- Gollomboç has become Globočani
- Diellas has become Šulin
I invite the members of WikiProject Albania to correct these moves, and also to remove the templates of WikiProject Macedonia from settlements of Albania. Comment on the WikiProject X proposal
Hello there! As you may already know, most WikiProjects here on Wikipedia struggle to stay active after they've been founded. I believe there is a lot of potential for WikiProjects to facilitate collaboration across subject areas, so I have submitted a grant proposal with the Wikimedia Foundation for the "WikiProject X" project. WikiProject X will study what makes WikiProjects succeed in retaining editors and then design a prototype WikiProject system that will recruit contributors to WikiProjects and help them run effectively. Please review the proposal here and leave feedback. If you have any questions, you can ask on the proposal page or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you for your time! (Also, sorry about the posting mistake earlier. If someone already moved my message to the talk page, feel free to remove this posting.) Harej (talk) 22:47, 1 October 2014 (UTC)

I've heard rumors of this, and even read that current day Arberesch are more closely related to modern day Serbs than Albanians. WikiProject X is live!
Hello everyone!
You may have received a message from me earlier asking you to comment on my WikiProject X proposal. The good news is that WikiProject X is now live! In our first phase, we are focusing on research. At this time, we are looking for people to share their experiences with WikiProjects: good, bad, or neutral. We are also looking for WikiProjects that may be interested in trying out new tools and layouts that will make participating easier and projects easier to maintain. If you or your WikiProject are interested, check us out! Note that this is an opt-in program; no WikiProject will be required to change anything against its wishes. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
Note: To receive additional notifications about WikiProject X on this talk page, please add this page to Wikipedia:WikiProject X/Newsletter. Otherwise, this will be the last notification sent about WikiProject X.

Assistance is needed on a Topic
Albania is mistakenly listed as an Axis force instead of an Ally. As a knowledgeable person can you intervene? -- I created a talk topic under https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Talk:Allies_of_World_War_II#Editors_Needed_On_Clarifying_the_Albanian_Case -- The facts are clearly there, but I cannot edit it and there need to be more people involved to convince a Editor which does not know the basics of WW2 in the Balkans. --
Editors Needed On Clarifying the Albanian Case[edit] Dear Editors, -- Please let me kindly invite you to investigate and clarify the status of Albania as an Allied force. Since there is an editor below who unilaterally refuse even considering the provided facts and historical sources, then I invite a quorum of other editors (preferable with knowledge on WW2 history and Balkans) to investigate the case. Best Regards LupinoJacky (talk) 14:44, 4 February 2015 (UTC) Albania was an Ally state, the book "Enciclopedia of World War II, Volume 1, Section "Treaties Ending the War", Page 824, ISBN-10: 0816060223, ISBN-13: 978-0816060221" acknowledges that Albania signed the peace treaties in the end of WW2 as an Allied country. Issues in Cham Albanians
Recently i rewrote part of the article in relation to the Cham Albanians, by adding many important (western) sources that have not been accessible to many. They are by Western scholars who have done fieldwork in Thesprotia, accessed the Greek government archive, non impartial nineteenth century observers of the situation. In the article i included sources that one were not Albanian (as Albanian sources are accused of being biased and in-factual by Greek editors). I included in the article, academics that were importantly of Greek heritage. I also included in the footnotes the relevant pieces of information of were that information came from to prevent a deletion and have a serious discussion. Yet when i came to the article, all i saw was complete deletion !!! I was accused of POV !!! I ask, is this how wikipedia works, that when a credible source/s is given, it gets deleted without even proper discussion ? I ask fellow wikpedians is this the type quality we are after ? I am currently in postgraduate studies, and stifling of discussion is unacceptable. Its about scholarly debate. I still don't understand how i was pushing POV. For example, in the section about Chams today in Greece, i came across sources that have encountered Orthodox Albanian speaking populations. There also still exists a Albanian Muslim Cham community. Yet that got deleted. Voltaire once said "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it". I thus ask Alexikoua to justify each one of her deletions ? Otherwise she is pushing POV ! I request you assistance for Cham Albanians page.

New administrative divisions
Hello, I see User:Kj1595 has started implementing a new administrative subdivision of Albania in several articles, for instance here, here and here. As far as I can see on this official website and this law text (pages 89-114 of 117), a new administrative division has been approved, but it will be implemented in 2015, after local elections (when?). It also looks like the old municipalities will remain as some sort of subunits. Could someone who can read Albanian (I have to use Google Translate for that, which is probably not very accurate) confirm this? And apparently, the districts have already been abolished in 2000? If so, I guess we have some work to do. I'll be happy to help. Markussep Talk 14:02, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
- I was following some of the cities of Albania, and then noticed that Kj1595 has gone into a destructionist spree, noticed by you, Markussep. Not sure who will fix all me mess that he has done in wikipedia, but in the meantime he should be blocked. No matter when the reform will be implemented, the articles should not be destroyed. --Rregulluesi (talk) 14:33, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
- I have posted a message on his/her talk page. I don't know whether he has been warned before that this is not the right way to edit, so I assumed good faith, let's see how he reacts. I suppose he is right that the districts have been abolished in 2000, this source confirms that. But the current municipalities should be restored for now, also in the county articles. BTW the source I quoted calls the "counties" "regions", apparently the term "county" comes from ISO. Markussep Talk 16:30, 16 December 2014 (UTC)
- I restored the county articles to the current situation, and found nice refs for the populations (also on current municipality level) here (2011 census results). Markussep Talk 14:07, 18 December 2014 (UTC)
- I made an infobox template for places in Albania: {{Infobox settlement AL}}, a wrapper for {{Infobox settlement}}. It works for municipalities and villages. I've started adding it to municipality articles, adding the population according to the 2011 census at the same time. See for instance Lumas. Markussep Talk 19:24, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
- I'm nearly done adding the new infobox template to the current municipality articles. For now, I haven't added the districts they were part of. I'm not sure whether we need them, since apparently they were abolished 15 years ago. For the new situation after the local elections in June, I propose to convert the county templates (like {{Elbasan County}}) accordingly, so no more districts, but show the new municipalities on the left side, and their subdivisions (the old municipalities) on the right side, see {{Elbasan County new}}. We could call the old municipalities something like "municipal units".
Probably in this case, we can reuse the district articles for the new municipalities.Since most of the new municipalities are expanded versions of old municipalities, I propose to modify the existing articles accordingly, and create new articles for the 11 other municipalities, like Kurbin. What do you think? Markussep Talk 14:14, 6 March 2015 (UTC)

- I created articles for the 11 completely new municipalities. Also, I think we should replace the current templates showing villages by district (for instance {{Berat District}}) with templates showing villages by (new) municipality. Using a model used for Greek municipalities (they had a similar reform 4 years ago), I made this template: {{Berat div}}. For now, I used "municipal unit" for the subdivisions of the new municipalities (basically the old municipalities), I can easily change that for another term if we decide otherwise. Markussep Talk 19:30, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- The templates showing villages by new municipality are ready, see Category:Albania municipality templates. I also edited a few articles as examples for municipalities, municipal units and villages after the reform: Cërrik, Klos, Elbasan and Floq, Klos (note: I only edited the introductions, the infoboxes and the navbars). If noone objects, I will start editing the articles for the new municipalities accordingly, then the old municipalities (the new municipal units) and then the villages. POV issues with: Northern Epirus
THIS ARTICLE IS IN NEED OF ATTENTION for WikiProject Albania. The article Northern Epirus has multiple issues. The article purports to define a region with a geographical spread from Korce to Gjirokaster regions. As such, much of those regions are inhabited by a Muslim/Orthodox Albanian speaking population(i.e: Kallivretakis, Winnifrith etc) and in the article, it does not take into account the complicated issue of identity amongst Muslim and Orthodox Albanian speakers that was intertwined with the larger question of secession and retention of Albanian sovereignty. The article also fails to refer to peer review material regarding the decisions of the international community in relation to confirming sovereignty of the area to Albania. The article also for contemporary times does not in any way cite the complicated identity issues involved amongst Orthodox Albanians and Greek identity and migration, post 1992. This part needs to be addressed regarding the matter of how Greeks are counted and their numbers in Albania. There are also uncited and wp:POV claims in the article that refer to the burning of many Greek villages in World War Two without no wp:reliable sources given. wp:secondary are also lacking in certain parts of the article.Resnjari (talk) 20:47, 30 December 2015 (UTC)

Dear Albnians,
Can anyone help me improve my article about Ismet Asllani? A link to my article: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Ismet_Asllani
I am constantly getting attacked by Serbs here on Wikipedia with false clams. I am astonished! They are trying to do everything to delete my article for no reason! All what I have wrote here on Wikipedia, I have documented and my sources are 100 % in compliance with Wikipedias rules. I am a bit green in Wikipedia, if I do any mistakes I don't do them intentionally. I feel it's a loss for Wikipedia, if my article does not get the chance to develope.

The 10,000 Challenge
Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. If anybody here would like to contribute to a European one or would rather contribute to a sub one specifically for Albania like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Albania) based on Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Turkey), sign your name under the section for Albania and I'll start it if there is enough support. For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Albanian and European content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon. If you would like to see this happening for Albania and European nations, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:29, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
Cannabis in Albania needs improvement
We have a new article Cannabis in Albania, but it could really use improvement and expansion, especially from anyone who can read Albanian sources. With a little polishing, it'd also be really useful to make a translated version for Albanian Wikipedia since it's a topic of increasing interesting these days.
