Things to do

[edit]
  • Create new articles and help translate articles from Bulgarian Wikipedia. You may like to write a highly-requested article (like a red link that you see everywhere), translate a well-written article from the Bulgarian Wikipedia or some other language you know, or just dedicate yourself to a field you feel confident in that obviously lacks coverage. If you know of an article which has substantial content on Bulgarian Wikipedia but little in English please add {{Expand Bulgarian}} at the top of an article or section. It should add the following:

Current tasks

[edit]

This article could need some improvement in content and style, especially the section "Domestic policy". Also, on the Talk-page it is suggested, that the name of the article should be "Borisov" and not "Borissov" as it currently is. --KaiKemmann (talk) 22:09, 16 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Relief map of Bulgaria?

[edit]

Is there some compelling reason why we are using the blank (though it does show administrative boundaries) map of Bulgaria in our Location template, rather than this nice Relief Map of Bulgaria that the Bg page uses? Martha (talk) 17:48, 31 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Bulgaria on every language

[edit]

While i've found that several articles can be read on many different languages, some others are not widely spread. I propose to translate the articles to those languages with the largest number of speakers. I could manage to translate and to add lacking information to articles in Spanish (besides the obvious English), i could also do it on Italian, but, while it is a popular language all around, i think it could be better to do it on a second stage of this project. I just need someone to help me with the basics of making a wikipage and i could have all the information translated to post it.

Suggestions for "Did you know...?"

[edit]

I came across the story of Solomon Passy's Trabant, which would be a real good item for the Did you know section on the main page. However, to qualify it needs to be an article that has been expanded by at least a 1000 words recently, which I am not able to do. Who can? Preslav 13:00, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • No one. It only qualifies if it gets expanded beyond 1000 characters, and it is already longer than that.

Another suggestion — this coin. --Cameltrader 12:53, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wanted images for existing articles

[edit]

I think it would be nice to have a section on this page dedicated to articles lacking images. It's a cliche that a picture is worth a 1000 words, but I think people not familiar with Bulgaria who see our beautiful country would be really pleasantly surpirsed. Many articles lack images, if we start identifying them, maybe we would be able to find images hidden in the Commons or other language versions, or someone might take pictures of the subject matter faster than otherwise. Thanks, --Vanka5 07:51, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

High-quality images are indeed very necessary. A good way to tag articles that need a photograph is to put {{reqphotoin}} on the talk page. This adds the article to Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Bulgaria which is quite underpopulated now, unfortunately :) → Тодор Божинов / Todor Bozhinov 09:40, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Tosho! So we should really use {{Reqphotoin|Bulgaria}} then? Once we figure this out, the category will start filling up quickly. ;-) Thanks! --Vanka5 21:42, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I figured it out, it works! Thanks again, Tosho! --Vanka5 04:50, 15 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Add Bulgaria to every "List of" article where it is missing

[edit]

As a way of putting Bulgaria on the map, I suggest adding it to every list from where it is missing, but other European/Balkan/etc. countries are present. E.g. search Google for "site:wikipedia.org "list of" Greece -Bulgaria -intitle:Greece -intitle:Greek" to find suitable pages. Philipstoev 12:41, 2 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment

[edit]

We now have our very own Wikipedia:WikiProject Bulgaria/Assessment. Please join in rating every single Bulgaria-related articles according to the quality and importance scale — you can find instructions on the page above. Thanks! TodorBozhinov 19:17, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Requested articles

[edit]

Hallo there, Not sure this is the right place but anyway: I would like to ask for some help with regard to the Bulgarian dialects, for which there is practically nothing written until now. I have started with Serres-Nevrokop dialect and Blagoevgrad-Petrich dialect (or actually completely re-written the previous Macedonian articles) and established a template (see below). I would appreciate any contribution as this area lags severely behind. VMORO 01:28, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New articles

[edit]

This page lists recently created history articles within the scope of the project. Remember to nominate the best new articles at Template talk:Did you know so Wikipedia can highlight them on the main page.
