With all the amazing contributions and participation on all things Wikipedia, that you find time for NPP - a truly soul destroying activity (and I should know) - and to be one of the most active reviewers is, well, amazing. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 00:40, 26 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Kudpung; very thoughtful of you. I'm happy to help out at NPP. --Rosiestep (talk) 01:02, 26 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

March music

[edit]
story · music · places

New month: today is the birthday of Chopin and Ricardo Kanji, see my stories of today and yesterday, with dream music by the first and Bach played by the other. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:17, 1 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Starting March with matching flowers. Happy bday, Chopin and Kanji. --Rosiestep (talk) 14:45, 1 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Those will be mine in April ;) - seems to be different where you are. Even staying in one place: the crocuses that decorated all February are not even open today, photographed mid-February last year. Kanjy just died, did you see? He went to the main page for that 27 Feb, was off the same day, but restored yesterday, and is still there. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:34, 1 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Today: Carmen turns 150, as the main page and my story tell you. I chose a 1962 concert of the Habanera, - enjoy! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:33, 3 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Carmen, it is lovely. --Rosiestep (talk) 08:05, 4 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
On Ravel's birthday, we also think of a conductor and five more composers ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:57, 7 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Burke's Peerage. Thepeerage.com. Woman

[edit]

Hello Rosiestep. I'm Names is Matvey. Rosiestep Please British Peerage Woman. What Will Happen Burke's Peerage. Rosiestep's about Darryl Lundy. Thepeerage.com 94.140.140.113 (talk) 12:45, 1 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I'm unaware of what's happening with Burke's Peerage or the historian, Darryl Lundy. Victuallers might be able to help with this. --Rosiestep (talk) 14:50, 1 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm unaware of any recent changes but the book was regarded by Oscar Wilde as a work of fiction. In truth, it contains a lot of facts but it has also included wishful thinking by important families - who bought the book. See the Wikipedia entry. It appears that Darryl Lundy created the peerage site which is an amazing piece of work but it aims to collate the geneology of great families who have (sometimes) encouraged flattering speculations. ... can I suggest that Darryl deserves a sympathetic wiki article and an MBE. Victuallers (talk) 10:18, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Hawthornele (18:18, 1 March 2025)

[edit]

Hi Rosie, longtime reader, first time editor. :-) I am planning to update the page on Bentinho Massaro, which seems to violate Wikipedia's standards for neutrality, reliable sourcing, and Biographies of Living Persons. While I work on a new draft (and learn how to edit) - do you see any content here that should be deleted right away? For example the section title Allegations is misleading, as the police did not file any charges against Massaro. Further, the section "Testimony from former members" is poorly sourced and biased. While I will address the "cult" controversy in the revision, the content that currently exists seems designed to disparage, not inform. What do you think? I appreciate your time and expertise, thank you! --Hawthornele (talk) 18:18, 1 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Hawthornele and thanks for connecting with. Without specific regard to the Massaro article, I would discourage you from making one big change to an article until you have gained editing experience. Make small, incremental changes, which include explanatory edit summaries. Recognize that editors who have worked on an article and/or watchlisted it might have a different point of view than you and feel inclined to revert your edit(s). If there are multiple points of view on a topic, include all of them. Regarding specific questions about the Bentinho Massaro article ("... seems to violate Wikipedia's standards for neutrality, reliable sourcing, and Biographies of Living Persons"): it's far outside the scope of things I work on, so I recommend asking on the talkpages of WikiProject Internet culture, WikiProject Netherlands, and/or WikiProject Spirituality (as they are listed on Massaro's talkpage). --Rosiestep (talk) 18:57, 1 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Rosie. Yes, I plan to work incrementally and explain as I go, and I have been gathering sources. Is it possible to help me find a mentor who has experience with BLPs? (The WikiProject Spirituality is inactive, and the other two don't seem to fit the topic.) Thanks again. Hawthornele (talk) 21:24, 1 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hawthornele - Likely, there will be someone at the Teahouse (for future reference, it's also linked on your talkpage). Diverse group of helpful editors monitor it and respond quickly. --Rosiestep (talk) 23:05, 1 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much! Hawthornele (talk) 16:56, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Noorsadaque122 (07:05, 2 March 2025)

[edit]

How can I submit my articles? --Noorsadaque122 (talk) 07:05, 2 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I've sent you a guide on your talk page. Starting with small edits is a good (and less stressful) way of learning. Finding a mentor might follow from this. It took me months but it can be done in an hour with skilled support. On line guidance is supplied by Edinburgh University on the last Friday of each month for aspiring Women in Red contributors. Question from Bacem.mbarek (09:04, 3 March 2025)

[edit]

Hello, I want to write an article about myself --Bacem.mbarek (talk) 09:04, 3 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Bacem.mbarek. Wikipedia considers it a "conflict of interest" to write an article about yourself so you should not do so. More info here. I've also sent you a guide on your talkpage. --Rosiestep (talk) 16:19, 3 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Wikimanisbackuwu (19:19, 3 March 2025)

[edit]

I mistakenly issued an edit Warning to User:Swiãtopôłk here: User_talk:Swiãtopôłk#March_2025. We discussed it and it appeared that he was doing legitimate actions and he simply forgot to add a fitting description. should I Delete the warning or is there another action that is supposed to happen in a event like this? --Wikimanisbackuwu (talk) 19:19, 3 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimanisbackuwu, I see that Swiãtopôłk reverted it so no worries. Chalk it up to "stuff happens". Also: remember that, same as in real life, if you make a mistake, apologize as quickly as you can. --Rosiestep (talk) 23:15, 3 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
