Hi Rosie! My name is Katie Eberle and I attend Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY. I am part of the US Public Policy Wikipedia Project, in a class called Transnational NGO's in World Affairs. I will be editing a few articles concerning transnational NGO's and one article concerning US policy and was wondering if you would consider being my online ambassador. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Katheb246 (talk • contribs) 16:41, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
DYK for Sierra del Sueve
On 3 April 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Sierra del Sueve, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that a rare breed of horses found in the high mountains of Sierra del Sueve in Asturias, Spain, does not trot but moves with an easy gait, leading to its popularity as a "ladies' mount"? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

Chad-Cameroon Petroleum Development and Pipeline Project
Hi! Thank you so much for being my ambassador! I've chosen a couple pages that I am interested in editing, and the first is the Chad-Cameroon Petroleum Development and Pipeline Project. This article needs many more sources, so I am planning on adding those while also just adding more general information, particularly about Cameroon, since most of the article is about Chad. For my class, I need to focus mainly on Non-Governmental Organizational involvement, and so I was thinking about starting a new section for NGO's, and focusing and developing information about just a few of the large organizations that have been involved with this project. I wrote on the discussion page to let everyone know I hoped to start adding information soon. The second topic is more related to US Public Policy, and so I am hoping to edit the Energy Task Force page, although there seems to have some controversy on the discussion page concerning different political point of views, and so maybe I shouldn't get involved? Whew, that's a lot of info! thanks again! Katheb246 (talk) 23:42, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

Second opinion
Hi! I wanted an admins opinion on this. I removed the "Satire" section from the Kevin Federline page. I've been thinking of doing that for a while, as it seems to be little more than a list of miscellaneous information and not at all encyclopedic. In addition to that, his public reception is handled in other parts of the article.
I keep an eye daily on the KF page because it seems to be prone to vandalism, although that has been less of an issue lately. AlaskaMike (talk) 17:25, 16 April 2011 (UTC)

Can you top up Anthoceros laevis for DYK? I've also made a good start on Mining in Tajikistan of which could be made much more comprehensive. Also Dragan Velić needs a little bit more, not more than 5 minutes work on it.. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:49, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
Yeah its a pretty rare photo I think. For the Mining in Tajikistan article there is public domain text here which can simply be copied and edited into the article.♦ Dr. Blofeld 08:56, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

Hi. I've copied the FA SPanish article to Talk:Barranquilla. I've begun translation. Its a huge article so all help is needed! Should take a few weeks but like with Montevideo and Tenerife etc is a core article. Rosie can you try to finish off the translation of Barranquilla before 25th? I'm hoping to nominate within the time limit as it has undergone quite an expansion!♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:05, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

Should you have time over the weekend, Budic II of Brittany also need expansion. Its tough to compile something accurate though as there is such contradiction of dates. There is also an interesting (and important) article [here http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/L%27Armorique_au_Haut_Moyen_%C3%82ge] I think we should put into English.♦ Dr. Blofeld 21:02, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
Not to worry I have Wildlife of Burkina Faso brewing. If you can finish the Barranquilla history today I'll nominate this evening, Polylerus has also been a great help in finishing the rest of it.♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:12, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
Yeah that was the history I initially wrote. That section will have to be merged into the translated stuff somehow!♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:26, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
Oh, split into series of multiple articles of course like History of Barranquilla, Architecture of Barranquilla etc and then condense it, although I kind of like it full, but it is eh a little too full I agree. Although Spanish wiki has an even fuller article on its history which could be translated later. However, I don't want to split just yet. We want to DYK it as full first!♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:01, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
Yeah author= needs replacing with publisher=. Also I suspect a lot of the references are dead and might need replacing. It shouldn't be too difficult to find sources on such a major city I don't think..♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:07, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
Thankyou Rosie for the effort. You are probably too tired right now, but should you find time tomorrow I have started Shaare Zedek Synagogue, Winnipeg which somebody is trying to delete and claim is not notable...You might find something beyond page 3 of google books or web based.. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 21:37, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
Sometimes its split with an S Sedek , that night turn up some further hits, I dunno. I've finished on it for today so all yours, I reached google books page 4, luckily I found a old photo, would be nice to have a modern one too though..♦ Dr. Blofeld 22:10, 24 April 2011 (UTC)

Celebrity endorsement
I added the fact that Zac Efron has endorsed a product line to his personal life section Zac_Efron#Personal_life, with a link to the website. Could you take a peak? I have zero connection to the company, or to Efron for that matter, but I don't want it to appear that I am making a plug for the company. However, I feel its relevant to the article in the same way that William Shatner's celebrity endorsement of Priceline.com is to Shatner's page. I kinda wanted an admin to review the wording. Hey Rosie, Not sure I am doing this correctly....this is the darndest thing to get a hang of! I responded to the independent reviewer (James) but again, not sure it actually went to him. I told him I have the history books of Tennessee that shows she was the first woman "elected" to the senate in Tennessee. I am 100% sure of this. I have two articles, one is a laminated obituary from the Nashville Banner dated 2-23-1966 and the other is a Tennessean/Nashville Banner article in Jan 1945 with a photo of her in the Senate Chambers proclaiming in the article of her being the first woman elected to the senate in Tennessee. I could take a photo of the pictures and email them but submitting them via this method is simply too confusing.
Would it be possible to email me directly at blashlee@hotmail.com ?

What next?
I reckon the post office is done and dusted. Looks really good. What next? Are you keen for another one? Here's a list of suggestions:
- Media related to Category:Regent Theatre, Christchurch at Wikimedia Commons next door to the post office
- Media related to Category:Old Government Building, Christchurch at Wikimedia Commons where most post office tenants moved to
- Media related to Category:Citizens' War Memorial at Wikimedia Commons next to the Cathedral; very photogenic
- Media related to Category:Victoria Square, Christchurch at Wikimedia Commons lots going on there; one of the more surprising 'missing' articles
- Media related to Category:Bridge of Remembrance, Christchurch at Wikimedia Commons one of the most photographed features in the city
- Media related to Category:Cranmer Centre at Wikimedia Commons so much history; currently being demolished
- Media related to Category:Cranmer Court at Wikimedia Commons most impressive building and I predict that it will be demolished, too
- Media related to Category:New Regent Street at Wikimedia Commons has a hugely interesting history - a whole street built by a developer
So much to choose from! Schwede66 23:21, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not sure whether you've spotted on my talk page that I've started the Citizens' War Memorial article. Feel free to join in when time allows. I've also started William Trethewey in my userspace, so we could make this a double nom. Schwede66 10:18, 25 May 2011 (UTC)

- Thanks for the suggestions. I always ensure that one space is left after the last reference. However, keeping the lead space without references will be followed in future as I have mostly in all my articles given the references in the lead also to avoid repeating the text in the following sections. I would like you to look at the review comments below Wildlife of Tanzania and see if you can cutout the hook at ALT1 since I am not sure of the procedure. I have suggested an alternative hook after deleting the commercial website reference to the national bird. Do you have any preference for hook text for the Wildlife of Djibouti? Djibouti Frankolin is ruled out since you have already posted a DYK on that.--Nvvchar. 04:24, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
No problem. Can I make a suggestion to you too? Can you try to avoid one sentence paragraphs and sections? I think if there's not enough info for a proper paragraph then it should be avoided. The way I was taught is to always avoid short paragraphs... Anyway.Tibetan Prayer ᧾ 10:12, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
It was promoted in a few hours of my posting the DYK and even moved to prep area in the lead. The review in the light of additional information added by you is absolutely fine. The hook text now has more punch and it should be accepted. I have recorded acceptance of the revised hook. --Nvvchar. 04:32, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
- I don't understand the reviewer's observations under Phnom Bok on WP:MoS on AD and range dashes (893–927 AD). Can you rectify it, please? In the words “pictured brahma image, a trimurti” , 'a trimurti' could be deleted. On the summer solistice issue I don't think we can add more. --Nvvchar. 17:00, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
- This reference [1]] could help in replying to the solstice query.--Nvvchar. 04:18, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
- I have quoted relevant texts from the references 5 and 6 for more clarity on the issue. I suggest this alternative for the hook with suitable chanage to be made in the main text in the lead...that the summer solstice occurring over Phnom Bok hill temple, which had the images of Trimurtis (pictured image of Brahma) defied in it, could be observed from the temple’s western entrance?--Nvvchar. 05:49, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
Further, I suggest the following change in the lead section third paragraph: "From the astronomical references planned for the temples, out of the four noted alignments three, namely, equinox and winter and Solar Solstices occur just inside the western entrance of Phnom Bok hill temple which is also known for the triple sanctuary dedicated to the Trimurti."
- The hook has been promoted to the prep area.--Nvvchar. 06:06, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
- The changes made in the last para of the lead section is fine.--Nvvchar. 06:13, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
- You may like to contribute to this User:Nvvchar/Kanak over weekend.--Nvvchar. 15:11, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

- Hi Rosiestep, I've picked up your DYK for this article. The hook, cite, length and date are all fine, but there are a few clean up jobs needed in the article.
- In the lead it states "His work is in Mexico, Europe, America, Africa, Middle and South America", you have mentioned America twice, split by Africa. Is the first America meant to be North America, or maybe the United States?
- In the article he is refered to as Noldi (under Early years), then Schreck (later sections). As Noldi is a nickname I wasn't sure if it was like a Pele or a Bono, but one needs to be stuck to.
- The date format also swings between European and American. One needs to be chosen. Should all be good to go after that. Thanks FruitMonkey (talk) 15:04, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

wow, thanks for the marked improvement to this article. there's a bunch more in these list articles: List of religious houses in Scotland, List of abbeys and priories in England. maybe we need an improvement drive. 98.163.75.189 (talk) 18:45, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
- by way of background, a lot of these geographic, and priory stubs were created with only a sentence, and no references. the list articles catch them (makes a good to do list) some are demolished and some are listed buildings. i will try to sweep through and incorporate some google references. 98.163.75.189 (talk) 00:25, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

I have found the google book reference (instead of an individual's website) and also some more on etymology and arts which I have added in the text. I checked and nommed its over 11 million pounds today, about 20 million dollars! You might also find more on Pancho Guedes if you have time, very notable architect in Mozambique, there's bio info on his website I think.♦ Dr. Blofeld 21:44, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
Also there is Jerbourg Point, I was going to do that solely but it could count towards one of our Guernsey efforts. Anyway, that's more than enough for now! Sorry to pile em up! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 22:50, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

- Fine with me. You may nominate after completing your inputs. Menai Bay Conservation Area has been commended as of GA standard. Why not nominate it for GA? Thanks.--Nvvchar. 05:08, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
- I know. You had mentioned this to us earlier. I will nominate it on GA. May be one more run through by you for copy editing may help. I will also go through it thoroughly before posting on GA. Thanks.--Nvvchar. 05:57, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
