Hi,

I would like to recover the content of my draft. I am not going to re-submit it until it complies with all rules. However, in order to do that I need to retrieve what I've written so far. Thank you.

Hoping to find draft content

[edit]

Hello, I would like to find the draft content from my article about my company so that I can get it published correctly, while meeting the guidelines.

This is the message that I received: 23:31, 2 August 2022 Deepfriedokra talk contribs deleted page Draft:United Christian Broadcasters Media Canada (G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion)

Thanks in Advance.

Dwayne Djamieson33 (talk) 17:19, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Djamieson33: I'm sorry, that was all ad copy. You will need to rebuild using content cited from reliable sources that are unconnected with the subject and have a reputation for fact checking." Thanks, -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 17:38, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. I'll try again. Thanks. Djamieson33 (talk) 17:56, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted draft question

[edit]

Hi. I submitted an article on "Windstone Editions" and it was deleted as being "advertisement". While I do work for the company, I am trying to get them on Wikipedia because I think they deserve mention. The reviewer said "Sorry, this needs a complete rewrite from someone not associated with the company."

IF I were to write a new one that was completely neutral and showed sources that would verify their notability, would that be looked at the same way simply because I happen to be employed by the company? If so, how does one get itself on Wikipedia?

Thanks. IzadoraD (talk) 22:36, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@IzadoraD: Welp, the content certainly looked like you would be unable to write about that subject in a neutral manner. It looks like you have been trained to write in promospeak. This is not to say you cannot learn to write non promotional content. However, one does not "get itself" onto Wikipedia. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. It is not the place for minions to write about their company. Having said that, you should ask for help at the WP:TEAHOUSE. They can help you to learn to shed your promotional style. You should also read the linked pages in the deletion notice. There is a lot of good information linked there. As you work for the company, your next step is to read and heed WP:COI and WP:PAID. There are disclosures you must make. Hope that helps.-- Deepfriedokra (talk) 23:08, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Welp, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia with inclusion requrements for the subjects of articles. Please read the detailed message I left on your talk page. Please follow the links in that message and read that information. It seems pretty clear that the subject of Draft:Anshu DV Vaishnav does not meet inclusion requirements. Also, the content was promotional and more suited to FaceBook or LinkedIn. The folks at WP:TEAHOUSE can possibly give you the in-depth education you may need, and better than I could. User page created for inactive users

[edit]

Hello Deepfriedokra, I was hoping you could help with a problem I have. What do you recommend someone do if they find a user created a user page for someone who hasn't been active in a number of years? In this case, User:Billbailey=legend hasn't edited in almost 16 years but another user just created a user page for them. I want to CSD tag it, but no tag seems appropriate. It also doesn't feel right to leave the user page as is, with just "Who is this?" as the content. Hey man im josh (talk) 20:35, 10 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Something you might not have noticed before

[edit]

Hello there,

I was looking around at another IP's contributions (158.106.48.10), and I spotted this [1]. You asked "Why are people able to see and archive what are supposed to be confidential records?" regarding UTRS, since that IP had somehow accessed another user's confidential unblock requests (making you think that the IP was really that user evading his block).

Well, I don't know exactly why anyone other than that blocked user could see his records (or even if that IP was a block-evader--after all, it is' a shared IP address), but you might want to take a look at this: utrs-beta.wmflabs.org at archive.today. Just offering my 50 cents. No hard feelings. 72.82.42.5 (talk) 03:48, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly some sort of neurodivergence. Not for us to know -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 04:36, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Terribly sorry to hear about that, DFO. Say― does he (your harasser) seek revenge every time he's rejected, as Solomon Peña did (and violently so) after losing his election? Either way, I'd dread having to deal with that kinda guy if I were an admin and/or mentally ill. My greatest sympathies.
(FYI, mental illness isn't the only kind of neurodivergence. I first heard that term [actually it was "neurotypical] in a book that was about autism. See, far too many people [even some who are neurodivergent in a non-mentally ill way] mistakenly think of mentally ill people as perpetrators of violence, when they're far more likely to be victims. I just hope that neither you nor your harasser believe that misconception. And personally, I wouldn't want to use Tamzin's guide if I were dealing with a neurodivergent editor who was not mentally ill.)
Anyway, hope you have a happy Valentine's Day! Toodles! 72.82.42.5 (talk) 01:14, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

COI editing

[edit]

I am interested in your statement on your user page (italics mine):

"And in the case of an article being swarmed with UPE, PAID, and COI editors to make a page more favorable to the subject's reputation, the decision as to accepting or rejecting such content does not hinge on the integrity or agenda of these editors. It hinges on our own integrity. If reliable sources can be found to support such content, and if it can be included in a neutral manner, it would be best to have it."

I have previously done some COI editing that I would say was well-intentioned but ignorant. I am a better Wikipedian now, and believe I could fit your "if it can be included in a neutral manner, it would be best to have it.". However, I feel watched by other editors. The process of proposing edits looks to have a 5 month delay. One could be patient. Or one could dare to try it out by adding content that is contributory, well-sourced and non-controversial. Wikipedia guidelines re COI editing say it is "strongly discouraged". Strongly discouraged is not the same as forbidden of course. And if an editor is no long green and has a better understanding of guidelines, then perhaps they should have the courage to make a contribution to Wikipedia, even in a COI context? Any thoughts on this? Walton22 (talk) 23:45, 16 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Walton22: I would not change that sentence. That suggested change is is too promotional. I'd leave it out. It's clearly non neutral and casting him in a more favorable light. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 02:16, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's interesting. It's a paraphrase of what's in the article as reported by the journalist, so sourced. It explains the significance of that pursuit for the article's subject, and therefore why it is notable for inclusion in the BLP. Does what you say just pertain particularly to a COI edit? Perhaps that's how you are making your call? If someone else made that edit based on the linked article would it then be acceptable? If any material in a BLP that cast the subject in "a more favourable light" is inherently non-neutral, then much must be pruned on Wikipedia! We'd then only have Wikipedia BLP's of infamous people, notable for material that cast them in a non-favourable light! Walton22 (talk) 05:00, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The tone is promotional and not neutral POV. If that is an interview, of course it isn't. Sources can try to paint a subject in light, good or bad. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 11:00, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page stalker) comment: This here user talkpage is a public Wikipedia page, so a link to Walton22's proposal would be nice for the stalkers. My best guess it it's this. The whole interview in question, which Walton22 wishes to paraphrase, is painfully promotional and adulatory, but I suppose it's acceptable as a source for the plain fact, as it's used currently. Walton22's suggestion that if content like "This work has given him more understanding in the area of mental health, particularly in relation to its impacts on artists" is not added, then Wikipedia will only have BLP's of infamous people, is a joke, I presume, or at least hard to take seriously. I won't engage with it. Bishonen | tålk 12:50, 17 February 2023 (UTC).[reply]
(talk page watcher) It's not a good source for the proposed change. It's fine for the simple assertion (which already exists in the article) that Isaacs was a volunteer at Lifeline Australia, but not for any assertion about Isaacs' level of understanding about mental health: the source's author, Nick Galvin, is a journalist specialising in the arts, not a psychologist or educator - he's not well-placed to judge anyone's level of understanding in the area of mental health. Girth Summit (blether) 13:08, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Bishonen: Thanks. Adulatory is the word I was looking for. So you are saying the proposed bit is too adulatory? @Girth Summit: Thanks for the expansion of explication. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 14:01, 17 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks to everyone who commented. It helped me understand more about Wikipedia editing. I understood that a newspaper article is an acceptable source. But clearly not everything within it may be neutral POV. I suppose Wikipedia editors are charged with making that call in discerning possible journalistic bias. I realise that not all editors will agree on all things. In this case though, it's enough that it's contentious, to, with genuine acceptance, drop a COI edit that was mistakenly and naively thought to be non-contentious "because it's in a newspaper" (!). Hi, in case BBP12 appeals again through UTRS, I wanted you to be aware of what's been going ono at Commons the last day or so. Because BBP12 was unable to post to their Talk page at en.wiki, they started harassing me at Commons. They even created another account, Chillzero, to help out with the harassment and bizarre accusations. Both BBP12 and Chillzero are now CU-blocked at Commons without TPA. Thus far, Chillzero has not edited at en.wiki. If you have any questions, let me know, and I'll try to answer them, although some of the nonsense, I confess, I don't even really understand. BBP12 has also been posting to wikipediasucks.com. I only know that because I received some links to the site via e-mail. I don't really pay attention to such sites.--Bbb23 (talk) 20:57, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Bbb23: Thanks. I need the info. Commons is now the place to go to harass ENWIKI admins. As clueless and probably LTA as they are, of course they are. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 21:41, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Didn't know that. Ironically, I didn't go to Commons because of BBP12 but something wholly unrelated, but then I noticed the posts to my Talk page. Sometimes when I go to other projects, I see the orange banner for posts to my Talk page, and I don't even check 'em out. This time I did. Just so you know, the bizarre stuff I referred to was on Chillzero's userpage, and it's been deleted, so you can't see it. I saw it before deletion.--Bbb23 (talk) 21:50, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. They used to go to my META talk. Whatever works. I guess. BTW, I documented the harassment on the UTRS ticket. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 22:03, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for documenting it; documentation is great. BTW, although they socked on Commons, I have no evidence that the person is an LTA. I don't think it's unlikely, but I have no idea who it is.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:23, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion

Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Talk:Voiced velar tap should have been marked for speedying. It’s a malformed deletion request with no merit. Dronebogus (talk) 15:47, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Dronebogus: Sorry, only doing RfPP today. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 16:09, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You shouldn't have added that protection template cause no one was disruptiving that page, that article is full of misinformation and we were only making accurate changes and updating the sources, in fact that article has never been more accurate than now, you old editors need to understand that WP can't stay filled with old and misleading information, that user that was trying to "fight me" is known for being like that with everyone and insulting too, it is not fair for new editors that are just trying to help like me. Lightlylove (talk) 22:10, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Lightlylove: Thanks for the insults. "All content must be cited from reliable sources that are unconnected with the subject and have a reputation for fact checking." Please discuss content and sourcing on article talk page and achieve consensus for any changes. Please make WP:EDITREQUESTs on the article's talk page. Please seek dispute resolution as needed. Thanks -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 23:38, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please tell me and write down when did i insult you? I never insulted you, stop trying to abuse of your power with other editors, i have never worked with unreliable sources, i am very aware of WP's source guideline, you don't have to suggest me, i never provide information without reliability and its clear judging by your reply that you don't have reading comprehension or that you simply don't want to so you can always be right specially when you're not, what are you going to invent next time you reply me, that i cursed at you? You don't have communication with editors less you are willing to collaborate and that's not how Wikipedia works. Lightlylove (talk) 00:32, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Lightlylove: Thank you I see that you did cite a source and apologize for missing that. This makes it a WP:CONTENTDISPUTE. I have adjusted the page protection accordingly. Please discuss content and sourcing etc, etc. Thanks, -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 00:55, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Its okay don't worry and thank you so much for your kindness❤ Lightlylove (talk) 01:05, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

But i still can't edit the page, that means that i would never be able to edit it again? Lightlylove (talk) 01:07, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please discuss . Oh, I already said that. You and other editors need to stop edit warring and decide on the content. The protection expires in one week. Thanks -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 01:09, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello! I'm not an administrator and my concerns on the Atomic Heart page aren't connected to the apparent edit war about whether it's a FPS or whatever. However I am concerned with apparent attempts to obfuscate the game's Russia links.

I would like to suggest that this edit gets reverted:

Edit summaries

[edit]

Hello. If we are trading instant messages, here may be easier. Which summaries (other than "troll" accusations) are unacceptable? I have no intention of using that term again but if I have offended elsewhere, I would really like to know so I avoid that as well. --Coldtrack (talk) 20:04, 3 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Coldtrack: I think it was spelt out at the ANI thread. And, no, roaming the encyclopedia spreading out conversations is not a good idea. I think you need to discuss at the ANI thread. Best -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 20:07, 3 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As it is quiet elsewhere and this message is only for you, I'll tell you why I say this harassment is sneaky, the term I used. First, my mistake was a bunch of personal attacks in summaries which I never knew could be taken to be personal attacks, but that's by the by. They were; I accept, and I can't redact them. Yet some editors have the privilege of defending themselves for days if not weeks before a decision is made to topic ban them, while I remain at liberty to call people "trolls" (even though I won't) yet find I cannot edit a certain article where I committed this transgression. Hereinafter, I am told by the same admin, "if it happens again, you get stopped from editing Eastern Europe articles". Now what on earth is the connection between me breaking NPA rules on a page that is loosely speaking an Eastern European page, and being allowed to edit on Eastern European pages acorss the site? The answer is simple. 90% of my edits are based around the Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact regions (so Yugoslavia and Albania just about fall outside of this set). Take away my right to edit there, and I am left with a rump presence. It's obvious I've not conducted myself inappropriately with regards any edits, and now I am not likely to breach NPA, the community has to start digging deeper for dirt to either pressure me out of here, or conjure up a reason to have me indeffed. Call me paranoid, but give me a few hours and I'll find you a thounsad instances where such has been going on around the site: dispensation for rulebreakers on the correct side of the contour, and stiff penalties for those on the other who haven't even done much wrong. I've seen a lot these past seven years. --Coldtrack (talk) 21:21, 3 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This would probably be better at the ANI thread, especially if you are mending your ways. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 21:22, 3 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Deepfriedokra,

You recently offered a statement in a request for arbitration. The Arbitration Committee has accepted that request for arbitration and an arbitration case has been opened at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/World War II and the history of Jews in Poland. Evidence that you wish the arbitrators to consider should be added to the evidence subpage, at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/World War II and the history of Jews in Poland/Evidence. Please add your evidence by April 04, 2023, which is when the first evidence phase closes. Submitted evidence will be summarized by Arbitrators and Clerks at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Case/World War II and the history of Jews in Poland/Evidence/Summary. Owing to the summary style, editors are encouraged to submit evidence in small chunks sooner rather than more complete evidence later.

Details about the summary page, the two phases of evidence, a timeline and other answers to frequently asked questions can be found at the case's FAQ page.

For a guide to the arbitration process, see Wikipedia:Arbitration/Guide to arbitration.

Re:My comment at UAA

[edit]

"CattButtGuy" is egregious? Really? Also, point number one says to discuss it with the user on their talk page. Never happened and never does. The user reporting at UAA is almost always done without following the instructions and, unfortunately, admins rarely correct the behaviour. "Rude" is subjective, but trying to chase a new member off the site is against our objective policy. Primergrey (talk) 15:33, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What? I did not think so. I left a note at UAA saying being discussed. Who tried to chase a new member of the site? You mean you? You've been here since 2011 and have >20,000 edits. Only two at UAA. Hardly new.
Being rude, as you were HERE is also against the rules. Even users experienced in reporting at UAA sometimes get it wrong, and we just decline. And the declines and notes that we use is all that we think is needed. Again, that's all the "correction" that is needed. I did not realize it was your job to correct others.
Now, as to my message on your talk page. All I did was point out to you your rudeness, I'm sorry, but your comment at UAA was uncalled for and more likely to drive another user off the site than me pointing out your rudeness on your talk page.
FWIW, point number one is "Except in the instance of an egregious name violation, please do not report accounts with no edits or those who have not edited in the preceding 2 weeks." They had edited.
Please explain, "never happened and never does." I'm not following you. Some leave warnings when they shouldn't. Some report when they shouldn't. "Egregious" is subjective. That's why admins and other experienced users sort it out. I think the admins and other users at UAA do a good job dealing with all that. Best -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 16:29, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there! Thank you very much for your note on my talk page. I am very curious, what about my tone seemed uncivil? Over the years I have learned to conduct myself here with utmost civility, and in this case, it there are people trying to do editorial damage to the reputation of a deceased politician, which seems uncivil. But please let me know how to best comport myself in the future. I never ever want to be in violation of decorum and practices of this fantastic information hub. I know when I first got on here I didn't understand proper decorum and practices, but that was now years ago. I want to move forward with nothing but editorial correctness and positivity. Did you mean to post some kindly advice for the user User:OfficialBritlottery after my block, or did we just stumble over each other's feet? I suppose it isn't a problem in either case; if they do create a new account, they can surely use the advice. Bishonen | tålk 13:43, 30 March 2023 (UTC).[reply]

@Bishonen: Yes and no. I had the template fired up and ready to go, so why waste it. My first creations were deleted. It stung like Hell. A little kindly advice takes the sting out. Also, I believe that inside every SPAMU creator is a constructive editor, trying to get out. So, I try to guide them along the Way.-- Deepfriedokra (talk) 13:48, 30 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Deepfriedokra,

I don't have much experience with UTRS or reviewing unblock requests but I was looking into this request and saw that you had released it. The checkuser results said that there had been no block evasion so I don't know what the hold-up is. Are you reluctant to unblock but there isn't a good reason why not? I don't know if I would vouch for this editor but we did use to converse quite a lot before they were blocked and I was surprised when they were indeffed. Just inquiring here because I don't know how to work the UTRS system beyond "read mode". Liz Read! Talk! 03:45, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Re earlier inquiry on AN

[edit]

Regarding your remark here, those deletions resulted from a page being listed at CAT:TEMP, and were not solely directed at LTAs, indeed in many cases the blocked users had never even edited their talk page. And the primary motivating factor was just WP:DENY in general (in fact that proposal was written precisely to advocate for those deletions among other things) rather than to combat severe abuse, hence the time delay.

The process was never well documented (actually CAT:TEMP was the primary documentation) but after around about a month more or less, pages listed there were deleted by default unless there was some reason to retain them such as sock tags or substantial history or several other reasons that varied depending on who was complaining and when. At the time many block templates transcluded the category, which was also often added manually or through specialized templates (e.g. {{temporary userpage}}), so deletions were widespread.

The process first started up a bit after you registered, although script assisted blanking of such pages had already been ongoing for some time. It was never without controversy nor to my recollection was consensus for it ever formally assessed anywhere, but it was a different time, and such things were still tolerated.

In practice emptying the category became a chore with a benefit that was increasingly questioned over time, while the lack of firm consensus meant that anyone patrolling it had to endure periodic complaints that could not easily be resolved by reference to policy. Despite attempts to speed things along, including scripted deletions by an adminbot, the underlying issues could not be resolved and eventually the process dissapeared as abruptly as it started.

Pinging Jéské Couriano since you also had some input there, and I'll leave a note for 192.76.8.84.

Not sure if this will ever come in handy, but hopefully at least your curiosity is now satisfied. 74.73.224.126 (talk) 01:27, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Was page protection move for "vandalism" necessary at Dimash Kudaigbergen?

[edit]

Was pp-move-vandalism neccessary at Dimash Kudaibergen? There was the start of a move-edit war threatening days ago which I stepped in to help defuse - and neither side was claiming the other was vandalism. I could maybe understand pp-move or perhaps even pp-move-dispute (though even that seems excessive since the only dispute in the 10 days of discussion was over the process of the move rather than the substance of the move) but certaintly not for vandalism. The issue is being discussed, calmly, at the talk page. Labelling it as "for vandalism" implies one side is being inappropriate, which I have not seen. @Drfazeelaabbasiofficial: The notice on your talk page says it was unambiguously (self) promotional in tone and read like a curriculum vitae. It also lacked in significant coverage in reliable sources unconnected with the subject.. Much of the content was unsourced, and many of the sources were promocruft selling dermatology products or some such.. One source was written by the subject. It will need to be completely rewritten from reliable, independent sources. Also, as an encyclopedia, Wikipedia subjects must meet inclusion criteria such as WP:ANYBIO. In rewriting the article you should use the Article Wizard via the WP:AFC process which gives more or less step-by-step guidance. The new user tutorial can help you. You can also ask for help at the TEAHOUSE, as well as Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Help desk.

Access to Deleted Revision?

[edit]

Hello Deepfriedokra, would it be possible to get access (or copies of the full article source) for my last deleted revisions for the articles Maria Valtorta, and Poem of the Man-God? I didn't realize that including a few lines here and there (insufficiently paraphrased), even though they were cited would create copyright issues since the websites from which the material was obtained don't have an explicit CC BY-SA on their articles (they don't have any copyright labels at all). The issue is there were a lot of intervening edits that were also revision deleted that were non-infringing edits, representing a lot of structural cleanup, citation cleanup, article improvements, etc. that was also lost through the revision deletion. I would simply like to: 1) remove any infringing material from the article, and 2) keep the non-infringing material. Arkenstrone (talk) 21:01, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Arkenstone: You should ask Diannaa as it looks like she was deleting admin. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 21:14, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
He did ask me and I said no. — Diannaa (talk) 21:38, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ooooohhhhhhhh! Thanks -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 22:46, 26 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, and providing no good reason. Which is why I'm seeking another admin who can see the reasonableness of my request. Arkenstrone (talk) 00:32, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You should have access to the original copyrighted sources for that. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 01:44, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have access to the original uncopyrighted sources. But that's not the issue. What I'm getting at is that there were a significant number of important edits made that have nothing to do with the infringing material. But because some infringing material existed prior to all of these edits, all those edits were removed as well — perhaps an unintended side-effect of the many revision deletions. (This is why revision deletion should be used cautiously in these types of situations, otherwise an enormous amount of work can be lost). Arkenstrone (talk) 02:32, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) Looks like a blatant demonstration of WP:Admin shopping to me. If an administrator denies your request, you should stop there. I'll add that there is no such thing as an "uncopyrighted" source unless it is explicitly and obviously in the public domain. The author of a work automatically holds the copyright. You can always look at a difference between any two non-hidden edits to see the the net change. For example, here is the net change between two edits on the outside of a large deleted swath between February and April. ~Anachronist (talk) 03:01, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If an administrator denies your request, you should stop there.
Why? Different admins can have different points of view. Some might even disagree with you. Especially given that no good reason has yet been provided. Care to provide one?
The use of revision deletion of all revisions since Jan. 27 on The Poem of the Man-God, and all revisions since Apr. 8 on Maria Valtorta, created unintended consequences viz. substantal loss of work, and in my view represents a clear misuse of revision deletion (perhaps a separate discussion on amendments to the revision deletion policy is in order?). Reversion, in this case, would have been sufficient in order to satisfy any copyright problems. The copyright issues themselves are very easy to correct. It's the loss of all intervening work which is the issue.
By uncopyrighted sources, I was trying to make clear that there were no explicit copyright labels applied to the material by the author (though through this ordeal, I am more aware that the absence of any explicit copyright labels means the author automatically holds the copyright). Arkenstrone (talk) 03:48, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Gah. Need more coffee. In that instance, you assume anything without a free license notice is fully copyrighted, -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 10:28, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I'm aware of that now. And I'd like to correct the copyright issues. But it appears certain admins don't want me to correct, in effect, imposing a kind of soft-censorship. Is that in accordance with the principles of a free encyclopedia? I can correct the copyright issues in a few minutes. I just need access to the source text that was revision deleted so I can remove the copyright issues, and keep all the other work. Is what I'm asking really so unreasonable? Arkenstrone (talk) 16:54, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've got opposition to that from two admins in this discussion. Regretfully, I am unable to fulfill your request. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 17:21, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate your consideration. Arkenstrone (talk) 00:38, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification of the reason of my past block

[edit]

Hello @Deepfriedokra, I ended up with a 31 hour block as @79.46.178.234 and yesterday, in the middle of the block, my IP address was changed. However, I would like some clarification on what I was blocked and why you accepted BrickMaster02's request to block, because I still don't understand the reasons of my block.

I'm gonna explain the actual version of the facts: last friday (as you can see here and here) I edited the pages List of Paramount+ original films and List of Paramount+ original programming, to eliminate some repetitions present in the pages. For example, if two shows were broadcast on the same day, what was the need to put two separate cells? So, I decided to merge them.

Tuesday I discovered BrickMaster02 reverted my edits (here and here), so I decoded to ask him some explanations of reverting my edits on his talk page and the talk page of one of the pages I modified. He reverted once again my legitimate attempts at discussion, commenting with expressions like "Knock it off" or "Go away". He said I was vandalizing the page List of Paramount+ original programming, then he reported me on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism for "Persistent vandalism on various television-related articles" and for "spamming the same message [...] on every talk page associated".

Then you blocked me, saying I forged another editor's signature (as you can see here).

I'm gonna asking you @Deepfriedokra: May i know, please, the actual reason I was blocked? And could you show me when I forged another editor's signature? 82.50.63.226 (talk) 09:58, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm also inviting @Yamla and @Daniel Case on the discussion. I tried to request the removing of my block, but without any success. 82.50.63.226 (talk) 09:58, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Deepfriedokra My block has expired on 23:22 of April, 26. Could you explain the reasons of my past block, please? 82.50.63.226 (talk) 10:23, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Good morning. I am trying to type a reply. You already wrote that. Well, first apologies for misreading a dif that looked like you forged a signature. Looks like you put a ping at the end and that confused me . Looks like you were disruptively editing and then went ballistic trying to figure out why. @BrickMaster02: wrote, "Has been constantly spamming the same message to me on every talk page associated. " I think you might be going ballistic again. Old people like me need our sleep, and our coffee, and type slowly. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 10:26, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't intend to spam any message on that talk pages, I just wanted to ask why my edits were reverted. And I want to know if merging cells on that kind of pages (lists of programmings) is not enciclopedic or not. Some time ago another IP tried to do it on lists of programming (like this edit on List of programs broadcast by Freeform), so what was the matter of doing the same on List of Paramount+ original programming? 82.50.63.226 (talk) 10:39, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
We'll need to ask BrickMaster02, cause they're more familiar with this. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 10:42, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
At any rate, if I remember correctly, the real problem leading to a block was the "spamming of the same message," part. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 10:44, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well, ask BrickMaster02, but if possible let me out if this. I don't want another problems 82.50.63.226 (talk) 12:00, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The reason why those edits were reverted was because they did not fit the general criteria for pages like that. That's all. As for reverting the talk page messages, he was spamming the same one over and over, and I was getting tired of that. Did I go extremely overboard with the comments and warnings? Yes, I do, and looking back, I wish I would've stopped and talked it out instead of what I did. BrickMaster02 (talk) 14:24, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well @BrickMaster02, where can I find the general criterio for pages referred to Original programming? 82.50.63.226 (talk) 14:21, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Just ask Nisf, he's usually the one who formats each article. BrickMaster02 (talk) 16:10, 29 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I would like you to take a look at the RfC concerning the lede of Ronald Reagan. Thanks for the feedback! Jaydenwithay (talk) 23:58, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Veggie cabal?

[edit]

Seems like we're in position to assert our dominance over the wiki, as it's spring and we're all starting to germinate.

On an unrelated note, I appreciate all your work at UAA. Do you find that I'm too quick to pull the trigger? It seems you're much more likely that I am to reach out to them rather than place a soft block. I want to be sure I'm following best practices. Gabrielhussein503

[edit]

Hey, I just noticed all the creations from Gabrielhussein503 appear to just be made up junk by a kid playing based of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YtyZiv7heY - I was going to G3 them but sometimes admins don't see the issue, so thought I'd just let you know as I saw you were active. If you want me to G3 them that's fine. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 12:18, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@KylieTastic: Great Ghu! Might want to ANI that mess. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 12:20, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK I'll give that a try. I usually get put of by the header statement "This page is for discussion of urgent incidents and chronic, intractable behavioral problems." even though I know a lot posted does not seem to be urgent or chronic just in needing of an admin. Could you look at this one too? They have a lot of editing overlap at Miss Indonesia and related articles, but AGF these are not the same individual. I warned them about restoring poor content, and they went ahead and did it again [8]. ☆ Bri (talk) 15:50, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What you said here piqued my interest. Is there an AI detector to use here? If so, how does one go about using it? I've seen new content pop up that is obviously AI-generated, so it would be helpful to have a tool to help prove it. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 19:15, 26 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This was deleted as promotional content. (WP:G11). It should be rewritten as per the deletion notice I left on your talk page. Generally, other language Wikipedia's are less well curated and have lower standards than English Wikipedia. It is concerning to me if you have been spamming across multiple Wikipedias. However, please feel free to request restoration at WP:deletion review. Thanks, -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 11:42, 27 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Proofficial:, as a courtesy, I just checked for references to see if the topic meets notability guildelines pursuant to WP:NCORP. References used to show notability must meet WP:ORGCRIT. Unfortunately, I could not find any that meet this criteria. This means the page would not get approved even if the advertorial tone was removed. However, what is most concerning is that your editing and username give a strong impression that you are from the company and you have not disclosed any affiliation as required by WP:PAID. I would recommend doing so prior to doing any further editing of Wikipedia. --CNMall41 (talk) 22:10, 27 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Djm-leighpark second bite

[edit]

Hey. I'm away for a few days, so I might not be able to follow up until then. But briefly, by all means, feel free to take over TPA and the entire block. So long as it is made clear to all concerned that I don't wish to interact with Djm-leighpark, including being pinged to their talk page by them or anyone else. As far as dealing with their incoherent and at times aggressive WP:CIR, I feel like I've done more than my fair share. So, if applicable, now it's someone else's turn (You?).

Having skimmed those UTRS reports, my sense is that similar misconduct is highly likely to reoccur if they were to be unblocked (though I'd happy to be proven wrong there). Either way, I leave the matter with you. Just emphasizing that if you or anyone else wants to provide them with a path towards an unblock (starting with restoring TPA), that's what I, as the blocking admin, need. Yours fondly, El_C 12:23, 27 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Gangstamadeit: Sorry. No. Your account was not deleted. Your WP:userpage with inappropriate content was deleted. Twice. Please read the deletion notice on your talk page. It explains why the content was deleted. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. It is not a place to post your social media profile. LinkedIn would be the place for that. Or one of the social media outlets. It looks like you are only interested in writing about yourself. That is not the purpose of Wikipedia. Thank you for your attention to these matters. Hopefully you can find some way to help build the modern marvel that is Wikipedia instead of misusing it. Thanks again, and happy editing. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 22:24, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Deepfriedokra, One of my interests on wiki is to provide the doi, issn or jstor links to incomplete journal references for easier verification. I also share links of the journal to researchgate if available. For example, I changed this ([1]) to this ([2]) However, I just read WP:RSSELF which discourages social network sources. The wikipage of researchgate calls the site a social network. Do I have to revise all my contributions on journals by deleting all links to researchgate? Even if those journals already have links for the doi or semantic scholar? Kwesi Yema (talk) 21:52, 3 June 2023 (UTC) Kwesi Yema (talk) 21:52, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
