Josephine Piyo
Ngo Josephine Chundung Piyo was born on 13th September, 1956, she is a mother and a politician from Plateau State, Nigeria[1]. She was a former Chairperson of Riyom local government area of Plateau State and during her time as the local government Chairperson, her local government area was consistently under armed attack by gunmen[2].
Piyo is a trained healthcare worker,, and teacher who joined politics and rose to the position of Chairperson, Riyom local government area of Plateau State in February, 2014[3].
Her tenure was truncated by the Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong who dissolved the Councils and put Interim Chairmen in office[4].
Ahead of the 2023 general elections in Nigeria, the Plateau State People's Democratic Party, PDP governorship candidate, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang picked Ngo Piyo as his running mate and unveiled her in June, 2022[5][6].
