Some cookies to welcome you!

Welcome to Wikipedia, Chipmunkdavis! I am Marek69 and have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time. Thank you for your contributions. I just wanted to say hi and welcome you to Wikipedia! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page or by typing {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. I love to help new users, so don't be afraid to leave a message! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!

Your recent edits

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 17:40, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

August 2010

Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made to List of European countries and territories: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit was inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. McLerristarr (Mclay1) (talk) 01:35, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What was inappropriate about my revert? Chipmunkdavis (talk) 01:40, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please keep a conversation in one place. After I, and most other users, post a message on a talk page, we'll watch the page for replies. Nothing was wrong with your revert. If you read the message it simply says to place a message a the vandal's talk page (like the one I placed on yours, except different). The vandal may take no notice of the message but it allows other users to see how much they vandalise and tells administrators for how long they should be blocked. McLerristarr (Mclay1) (talk) 01:44, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies, thanks for the message.

Reflist

Hey, on List of European countries and territories and List of North American countries and territories you changed {{Reflist}} to {{Reflist|2}}. I just wanted to point out, in case you didn't know, that {{Reflist|2}} creates a two-columned reference list for long reference lists, it does not mark it as a second reference list. No worries though. McLerristarr (Mclay1) (talk) 11:32, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, whoops, sorry. Thanks for informing me. I will keep that in mind for future edits. Chipmunkdavis (talk) 11:43, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of Arbitration Decision

The Arbitration Committee has permitted administrators to impose, at their own discretion, sanctions on any editor working on pages broadly related to the Balkans if the editor repeatedly or seriously fails to adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, any expected standards of behavior, or any normal editorial process. If you engage in further inappropriate behavior in this area, you may be placed under sanctions including blocks, a revert limitation or an article ban. The committee's full decision can be read at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Macedonia#Final decision. There was too much edit warring going on at Serbo-Croatian language. I'd advise you to read and understand this decision going forward. Courcelles 23:06, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I've responded to your comments at Talk:Defamation_of_religions_and_the_United_Nations#Factual_accuracy_tag_dispute. It'd be nice to have a good faith discussion with someone in that article. AzureFury (talk | contribs) 18:05, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, it's time to act. We've managed to fill an entire section with me asking what's wrong and him saying nothing. This isn't going anywhere until a second editor has the balls to actually edit the article. AzureFury (talk | contribs) 19:05, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

sovereign states sorting criteria

Sorry to bother here, but as you are a contributor to certain discussions at the List of sovereign states I would like to show you the recently compiled list of all proposals for sorting criteria so that you can express your opinion here. Thanks! Alinor (talk) 13:29, 30 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

East Timor article

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If the edit warring continues, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Nick-D (talk) 11:09, 31 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Chipmunkdavis. For your information: there's an existing article called Bruneian cuisine. I think the best solution (to prevent confusion) is redirecting/merging the Cuisine of Brunei and improving the content of Bruneian cuisine. Notice of WP:ARBMAC

Please note that the article Serbo-Croatian language, Croatian language and other articles relating to the Balkans fall under the ruling of WP:ARBMAC. Note in particular Wikipedia:ARBMAC#Discretionary sanctions, which states

"Any uninvolved administrator may, on their own discretion, impose sanctions on any editor working in the area of conflict if that editor fails to adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, the expected standards of behavior, or the normal editorial process. The sanctions imposed may include blocks of up to one year in length; bans from editing any page or set of pages within the area of conflict; restrictions on reverts; or any other measures which the imposing administrator believes are reasonably necessary to ensure the smooth functioning of the project. Prior to any sanctions being imposed, the editor in question shall be given a warning with a link to this decision."

Repeated blanket reversions, repeatedly and knowingly restoring material with large amounts of poor English and grammatical errors, and repeated introduction of material rejected by consensus all fall below the expected standards of behaviour at this project. Hi Davis,

I wanted to let you know that I have reverted your reorganization of Template:Oceania topic due to the extensive and highly controversial nature of the edit. On such a visible template, discussion on the template's talk page should take place before major alterations. I would be glad to participate in a discussion with you at that location if you are willing to enumerate the things you feel should be changed and why.

Rwanda - new peer review

Hi Chipmunkdavis,

Just to let you know, I've (hopefully) addessed the issues raised in the first peer review of Rwanda, so if you have time at all I'd be grateful if you'd have another look and let me know any new thoughts you may have on it. No probs if you're too busy though. The new peer review is at Wikipedia:Peer review/Rwanda/archive3. Thanks a lot!  — Amakuru (talk) 23:26, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The initial MEDCAB mediator got busy and a second mediator is willing to take the case, but we need to re-state our acceptance/decline. Please see the discussion here and indicate whether you consent to mediation or not. Please, even if you don't expect to participate (because of lack of time or other reason) - state your acceptance/non-acceptance of the mediation process - so that we don't have to wait for unaccounted for users. Only articles which were deleted as a result of a WP:Deletion discussion (such as an AFD) are eligible for being speedily deleted under this rational. If there is another AFD that I'm unaware of, feel free to re-add the tag. Otherwise, you'll need to file a AFD if you feel that the content should be deleted. Thanks! Rwanda - testing waters for second FAC

Hi Chipmunk

I hope you're well. It's been a long time, but I may finally have a little more time to spend on Wiki so would like to try to push the Rwanda article forward again. I know you contributed to the first FAC and you're an expert on country articles so your advice would be valuable if you have a spare moment.

One of the points raised was that the history section was overlong and also unbalanced in having too manby paragraphs for the 1990s. I have therefore recently reduced its length from 9 to 5 paras, of which only one is for 1990 and beyond. Do you think it is now acceptable?

The other major sticking point as far as I could tell was the explanation of the Hutu/Tutsi distinction. Unfortunately I didn't get a clear idea of what people wanted with that one. It's a notoriously difficult issue to describe, not least because it is contentious as to what the terms actually mean. If you have any ideas as to additional or alternative points I could make on that topic in the lead/history/demographics section I'd also be grateful. Many thanks  — Amakuru (talk) 23:07, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Further to this, I have now put Rwanda back up for FAC. Please check it out and comment at WP:Featured article candidates/Rwanda/archive2 if you have the time. Thanks!  — Amakuru (talk) 10:46, 25 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

WP:ARBPIA notice

As a result of an arbitration case, the Arbitration Committee has acknowledged long-term and persistent problems in the editing of articles related to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, broadly understood. As a result, the Committee has enacted broad editing restrictions, described here and below.

  • Any uninvolved administrator may, on his or her own discretion, impose sanctions on any editor working in the area of conflict if, despite being warned, that editor repeatedly or seriously fails to adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, any expected standards of behavior, or any normal editorial process.
  • The sanctions imposed may include blocks of up to one year in length; bans from editing any page or set of pages within the area of conflict; bans on any editing related to the topic or its closely related topics; restrictions on reverts or other specified behaviors; or any other measures which the imposing administrator believes are reasonably necessary to ensure the smooth functioning of the project.
  • Prior to any sanctions being imposed, the editor in question shall be given a warning with a link to this decision; and, where appropriate, should be counseled on specific steps that he or she can take to improve his or her editing in accordance with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Discretionary sanctions imposed under the provisions of this decision may be appealed to the imposing administrator, the appropriate administrators' noticeboard (currently WP:AE), or the Committee.

These editing restrictions may be applied to any editor for cause, provided the editor has been previously informed of the case. This message is to so inform you. This message does not necessarily mean that your current editing has been deemed a problem; this is a template message crafted to make it easier to notify any user who has edited the topic of the existence of these sanctions.

Generally, the next step, if an administrator feels your conduct on pages in this topic area is disruptive, would be a warning, to be followed by the imposition of sanctions (although in cases of serious disruption, the warning may be omitted). Hopefully no such action will be necessary.

This notice is only effective if given by an uninvolved administrator and logged here.

Hi! I just saw that you edited that template, only to be reverted by User:GeorgianJorjadze. I'm trying to improve the template too, and posted a possible version of it on the talk page in order to reach some consensus. I think your changes are quite welcome too, and would like to suggest incorporating them into the template I am building. However, the same user that reverted you seems quite opposed to my proposal, without answering specific arguments. I am rather new at editing, so I would greatly appreciate if you could have a look at the debate so that we can work out possible changes. Thanks!--Susuman77 (talk) 18:26, 8 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Chipmunkdavis,

Yourself and a few editors appear to have reached a deadlock situation in a dispute at Template talk:History of Georgia. Therefore, I am inviting everyone involved to reboot discussions in a peaceful and amicable manner at Template_talk:History_of_Georgia#Discussion_reboot. Please read carefully the opening statement, and engage with others involved in a civil discussion, avoiding personal attacks as much as possible. Meet-up: Editors from Malaysia

Hello! You might or might not have seen me around here as I've not been active in Wikipedia the past few months. Before leaving for NS, it was my intention to form a Malaysian user group. I'm still very much interested in forming the group. However, before forming the group, I would love to organize a meet-up between editors of the Malaysian editing community to test the waters and hear what you guys might have to say. To my knowledge, there has not been a Wikipedia meet-up in this country before. I don't mind organizing the meet-up but need to know if anyone is interested in joining the meet-up. So... please reply and let me know if you would be interested in joining a meet-up and your ideas/thoughts about a user group. Thank you.

TemplateData is here

Hey Chipmunkdavis

I'm sending you this because you've made quite a few edits to the template namespace in the past couple of months. If I've got this wrong, or if I haven't but you're not interested in my request, don't worry; this is the only notice I'm sending out on the subject :).

So, as you know (or should know - we sent out a centralnotice and several watchlist notices) we're planning to deploy the VisualEditor on Monday, 1 July, as the default editor. For those of us who prefer markup editing, fear not; we'll still be able to use the markup editor, which isn't going anywhere.

What's important here, though, is that the VisualEditor features an interactive template inspector; you click an icon on a template and it shows you the parameters, the contents of those fields, and human-readable parameter names, along with descriptions of what each parameter does. Personally, I find this pretty awesome, and from Monday it's going to be heavily used, since, as said, the VisualEditor will become the default.

The thing that generates the human-readable names and descriptions is a small JSON data structure, loaded through an extension called TemplateData. I'm reaching out to you in the hopes that you'd be willing and able to put some time into adding TemplateData to high-profile templates. It's pretty easy to understand (heck, if I can write it, anyone can) and you can find a guide here, along with a list of prominent templates, although I suspect we can all hazard a guess as to high-profile templates that would benefit from this. Hopefully you're willing to give it a try; the more TemplateData sections get added, the better the interface can be. If you run into any problems, drop a note on the Feedback page.

Thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 22:02, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Article Feedback Tool update

Hey Chipmunkdavis. I'm contacting you because you're involved in the Article Feedback Tool in some way, either as a previous newsletter recipient or as an active user of the system. As you might have heard, a user recently anonymously disabled the feedback tool on 2,000 pages. We were unable to track or prevent this due to the lack of logging feature in AFT5. We're deeply sorry for this, as we know that quite a few users found the software very useful, and were using it on their articles.

We've now re-released the software, with the addition of a logging feature and restrictions on the ability to disable. Obviously, we're not going to automatically re-enable it on each article—we don't want to create a situation where it was enabled by users who have now moved on, and feedback would sit there unattended—but if you're interested in enabling it for your articles, it's pretty simple to do. Just go to the article you want to enable it on, click the "request feedback" link in the toolbox in the sidebar, and AFT5 will be enabled for that article.

Again, we're very sorry about this issue; hopefully it'll be smooth sailing after this :). If you have any questions, just drop them at the talkpage. Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) 21:49, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Formal mediation has been requested

The Mediation Committee has received a request for formal mediation of the dispute relating to "Eritrea's geographical naming". As an editor concerned in this dispute, you are invited to participate in the mediation. Mediation is a voluntary process which resolves a dispute over article content by facilitation, consensus-building, and compromise among the involved editors. After reviewing the request page, the formal mediation policy, and the guide to formal mediation, please indicate in the "party agreement" section whether you agree to participate. Because requests must be responded to by the Mediation Committee within seven days, please respond to the request by 3 September 2016.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Wildlife of Malaysia, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Giant rat (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in Armenia, Azerbaijan, or related conflicts. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Edit warring

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Radio Free Asia shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.— Preceding unsigned comment added by CPCEnjoyer (talkcontribs) 09:38, 13 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia

Thanks for identifying the source of the material in your edit.

This type of edit does get picked up by Copy Patrol and a good edit summary helps to make sure we don't accidentally revert it. However, for future use, would you note the best practices wording as outlined at Wikipedia:Copying_within_Wikipedia? In particular, adding the phrase "see that page's history for attribution" helps ensure that proper attribution is preserved.

I've noticed that this guideline is not very well known, even among editors with tens of thousands of edits, so it isn't surprising that I point this out to some veteran editors, but there are some t's that you need to be crossed.S Philbrick(Talk) 14:16, 4 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi S Philbrick, I have an awareness of the guideline, but did not know that the specific phraseology is needed. I was unaware of the existence of a Copy Patrol. I have dummy edited to fix this instance, but could you explain why the particular wording crosses a t that my edit summary did not in terms of preserving article history? CMD (talk) 14:29, 4 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Sphilbrick: I think we ping now instead of using talkback templates. CMD (talk) 01:46, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The copy patrol tool identified a 72% match to this site. I recognize the site is a blog and the odds are high that the blog copied from Wikipedia as opposed to vice versa, but that's what triggered the review. then I noticed your edit summary which indicated that you picked up some of the text from another article, which of course is permitted but our guideline strongly encourages specific wording. --S Philbrick(Talk) 12:57, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I will keep the specific wording in mind to ease your patrolling. CMD (talk) 13:06, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

April 2021

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.

Please, justify your reasons; not just label edits. --Pedro158 (talk) 04:01, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Discretionary sanctions topic area changes

In a process that began last year with WP:DS2021, the Arbitration Committee is evaluating Discretionary Sanctions (DS) in order to improve it. A larger package of reforms is slated for sometime this year. From the work done so far, it became clear a number of areas may no longer need DS or that some DS areas may be overly broad.

The topics proposed for revocation are:

  • Senkaku islands
  • Waldorf education
  • Ancient Egyptian race controversy
  • Scientology
  • Landmark worldwide

The topics proposed for a rewording of what is covered under DS are:

  • India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan
  • Armenia/Azerbaijan

Additionally any Article probation topics not already revoked are proposed for revocation.

Community feedback is invited and welcome at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Motions. --Barkeep49 (talk) 16:59, 27 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Chipmunkdavis,

I've recently been looking for editors to invite to join the new page reviewing team. Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; the new page reviewing team needs help from experienced users.

Would you please consider becoming a New Page Reviewer? Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision (if it looks daunting, don't worry, most pages are easy to review, and habits are quick to develop). If this looks like something that you can do, please consider joining us. If you choose to apply, you can drop an application over at WP:PERM/NPR. If you have questions, please feel free to drop a message on my talk page or at the reviewer's discussion board.

Cheers, and hope to see you around, (t · c) buidhe 17:37, 10 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The Arbitration Committee has concluded the 2021-22 review of the contentious topics system (formerly known as discretionary sanctions), and its final decision is viewable at the revision process page. As part of the review process, the Arbitration Committee has resolved by motion that:

The above proposals that are supported by an absolute majority of unrecused active arbitrators are hereby enacted. The drafting arbitrators (CaptainEek, L235, and Wugapodes) are directed to take the actions necessary to bring the proposals enacted by this motion into effect, including by amending the procedures at WP:AC/P and WP:AC/DS. The authority granted to the drafting arbitrators by this motion expires one month after enactment.

The Arbitration Committee thanks all those who have participated in the 2021-22 discretionary sanctions review process and all who have helped bring it to a successful conclusion. This motion concludes the 2021-22 discretionary sanctions review process.

This motion initiates a one-month implementation period for the updates to the contentious topics system. The Arbitration Committee will announce when the initial implementation of the Committee's decision has concluded and the amendments made by the drafting arbitrators in accordance with the Committee's decision take effect. Any editors interested in the implementation process are invited to assist at the implementation talk page, and editors interested in updates may subscribe to the update list.

Contentious topic alert

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently been editing Eastern Europe or the Balkans, which has been designated a contentious topic. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

The Core Contest winners announced

The winners of the 2023 The Core Contest are announced 🎉. We had an amazing set of improvements this year, and the judges (Femke, Aza24 and Casliber) would like to thank everybody who joined and congratulate the winners.

  • First place goes to Buidhe for improving The Holocaust; very core, highly relevant; their work on bringing geographical balance to the article puts the topic in a whole different light. We also commend improvements to sourcing and prose
  • A close second place goes to Phlsph7 for improving Education from an unstructured jumble into a well-sourced piece of instruction
  • Third prize goes to Johnbod for improving Donatello, a near five-fold expansion with great sourcing and fantastic imagery
  • A tie for fourth place goes to Thebiguglyalien for improving Crime, for a strong improvement in sourcing
  • A tie for fifth place goes to Sammielh for International law, improved by converting contextless listicles into a proper sourced prose

Edelman Family Foundation

Hello @Chipmunkdavis

I am reaching out to you because of your previous participation in one of the discussions regarding the reliability and neutrality of HuffPost/Pink News/ProPublica as sources used on Wikipedia.

Currently, there is an ongoing issue with the Edelman Family Foundation section in the Joseph Edelman Wikipedia article. The section appears to be biased and lacks a balanced representation of the foundation's activities, as it primarily focuses on a single controversial donation while neglecting to mention the organization's numerous other significant contributions to various causes.

I would like to invite you to participate in the discussion on the BLP Noticeboard to address the concerns surrounding the section's neutrality and explore ways to improve its content. Llama Tierna (talk) 18:12, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Chipmunkdavis. Thank you for your work on Asphendou Cave petroglyphs. Another editor, Aszx5000, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

Autopatrolled granted

Hi Chipmunkdavis, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.

Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.

Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! —Femke 🐦 (talk) 10:59, 23 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

DCWC closing update

The 2024 Developing Countries WikiContest has come to a close! After a thrilling finish to the event with a slew of submissions on the final day, we have our winners. With 608 points, Bronze Belt Buckle – 3rd place Thebiguglyalien (submissions) comes in third with his series of Kiribati and Botswanan submissions; Silver Belt Buckle – 2nd place Tuvalu BeanieFan11 (submissions) flies into second place at the last second with 771 points after a string of good articles about sportspersons; and after leading for much of contest's three months, Gold Belt Buckle – 1st place Generalissima (submissions) finishes with a whopping 798 points to take home the Gold Belt Buckle. Congratulations to our winners!

In addition to his spot in the top three, Tuvalu BeanieFan11 (submissions) also wins the special awards for submitting under the most countries (44 countries) and for writing the most articles about women (15 Did you know? nominations)! India Magentic Manifestations (submissions), after making 16 submissions under the Indian flag—15 of them good articles—receives the awards for most submissions for a single country and most featured or good articles promoted. For their submission of one FAC review, five FLC reviews, and 20 GAN reviews, Simongraham (submissions) wins for most article reviews.

The results of the contest have far exceeded any expectations the coordinators had for it at the beginning: among the submissions to the event were 3 FAs, 10 FLs, 88 GAs, dozens of article reviews of every kind, and more Did you know? submissions than we can count! Regardless of your level of participation, every contestant can be proud to have contributed towards a major step in countering the systemic bias on Wikipedia. Every year, millions of readers and editors around the globe use Wikipedia to educate themselves and communicate with others about parts of the world that often receive less attention than they deserve. Thank you for participating with us in the contest and contributing to this effort. The DCWC will return next year and we look forward to seeing you contribute again! However, before that...
