Hello there,

seeing that the "quality" of the additions continues to be very poor, i have no other option than to report this other sock, Heavenlyjump. Have already lost track of: 1 - the number of socks; 2 - the number of times they say "Who, me?" whenever they're caught!

Attentively, happy editing RevampedEditor (talk) 16:51, 8 August 2024 (UTC)

Well, that one's pretty blatant. I'd normally direct you at WP:SPI but here, it's just so obvious. I'll go and block. --Yamla (talk) 16:59, 8 August 2024 (UTC)

Dunno why i keep bothering, because: 1 - no way this person is going to stop; 2 - i see no range block will ever be enforced, but here is the new sock, Screamofpain.

Attentively, happy rest of your week (and seeing you are a Python fan as seen below, here's this treat https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iV2ViNJFZC8)!

Thanks. Nobody on Wikipedia wants to hear from that troll. Hopefully they eventually realise nobody cares or even bothers to read what they write, and they go away. --Yamla (talk) 15:59, 12 August 2024 (UTC)

Request to Unblock Website URL betterauds.com

Dear Yamla,

I am reaching out regarding the global block of my website URL, [https://betterauds.com/]. I understand that this action was taken due to un reletead one page create some one. Since then, I have made significant changes to address the issues, including changes.

I kindly request your assistance in reviewing my case and considering the unblocking of my website. Your guidance on how I can further ensure compliance with Wikipedia’s guidelines would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Best regards Seoexperteam (talk) 05:08, 18 August 2024 (UTC)

That website has no business on Wikipedia. --Yamla (talk) 10:15, 18 August 2024 (UTC)

CanadianHistory (MMA & History)

In his request to being unbanned, CanadianHistorian claims not to have engaged in sock puppetry. It is true that there has been no confirmed case of sock puppetry, there is an investigation of him going here Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/CanadianHistorian(MMA & History). Thank you for your time and best wishes. --A.S. Brown (talk) 00:35, 19 August 2024 (UTC)

IPBE refreshing request

Hello, dear Yamla. Being in a country/region in the world with inconvenient Internet access, I've still been using proxies to edit Wikipedia. My IPBE will transpire in September of this year. Could you grant me another one? I would greatly appreciate it if you granted me a longer one (longer than one-year duration). Thanks for your understanding and assistance, sir! --波斯波莉斯 (talk) 03:52, 22 August 2024 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Admin's Barnstar
Dealing with unblock requests is tough. A few years ago, CAT:RFU was my main activity for a week or two, but back then I eventually gave up on an ever-increasing backlog and enormous amounts of time spent per request, just to be rewarded with people continuing to do what they did before the block. Thank you very much for your patience and frustration tolerance in preventing CAT:RFU from breaking down. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 23:02, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
As JBW has pointed out ([1]), there is more than just one administrator who should get this barnstar, and if you know of more, please let me know! ~ ToBeFree (talk) 23:04, 26 August 2024 (UTC)
I'm going to miss several, I'm sure of it! For those I miss, I promise you it's not anything personal! 331dot and Deepfriedokra, both of whom you already got. Ponyo and JJMC89 and jpgordon and PhilKnight. And the aforementioned people who I shamefully forgot to list, but also do excellent work with the unblock requests. --Yamla (talk) 20:55, 27 August 2024 (UTC)

Returned blocked member causing trouble again

Hello Yamla! Sorry to trouble you but a while back you helped with a troublesome member who turned out to be a previously blocked member called Mickeydee15. That original conversation was here. It resulted in the pest having several of their accounts blocked such as this one. Sadly they continue to be a nuisance under a new guise 142.126.247.127, their form is as before in that they edit filmographies to add rowspans & at the same time bulk remove data-sort-values without any explanation (also often references too). Such as on this page. I had hoped to avoid going to Admins by taking the time to explain to them what data-sort-values are for & how they work (I tried here & here) but to no avail. Though by their own admission they don't understand what data-sort-values are for or how they work, they persist in removing them without any explanation. I've tried fixing the removals where I can but on that last article they just blithely change back & I can't revert again or will cross into edit warring. So I'm having to report them as a block evasion to try & nip this in the bud. They seem to be a serial block evader as they are using multiple IPs, another is 209.226.247.8. You can see all the same traits there, editing filmographies to add rowspans, removing data-sort along with getting reverted by many other editors trying to do actual work. They seem to particularly like to work on Blue Bloods related pages, many of the IP edits there are different guises of this same person. Sorry again for bringing this to your door, I'd hoped my explaining what data-sort values are for would help them to understand & guide them to being a helpful member instead, but I failed.:(

I'm going to ping Girth Summit into this conversation too as they were the ones that recognised Mickeydee15 before. Thank-you for your time & any help, LooksGreatInATurtleNeck (talk) 23:27, 27 August 2024 (UTC)

I just noticed that both you & Girth Summit have busy/going on holiday notices on your pages, so I'll also ping Ad Orientem in case you are otherwise engaged. I hope you enjoy your trip! Take care, LooksGreatInATurtleNeck (talk) 07:11, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
Hi LooksGreatInATurtleNeck. 209.226.247.8 hasn't edited in 2 weeks so unfortunately, that is stale and not actionable. I have blocked 142.126.247.127 x 1 month based on behavior evidence and the geolocation of the IP address which is roughly in line with the other suspected IPs. Unfortunately, I suspect that this will be little more than a speed bump for them and there really isn't much we can do about it other than to play wack-a-mole with their IP addresses. -Ad Orientem (talk) 15:36, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
Hello Ad Orientem! Thank-you kindly for taking time to help again, I really appreciate it.
"Unfortunately, I suspect that this will be little more than a speed bump for them and there really isn't much we can do about it other than to play wack-a-mole with their IP addresses" Sadly that's what I figured too. :( I had spotted that they had returned not long after the first ban but for a while they seemed to hold back on the mass removal of data-sort-values. When I did spot them doing it again, I'd hoped to explain what it's for so they would stop. I just don't understand the mindset at play, why delete something they clearly don't understand? Apart from spoiling the work of others, it also helps identify them as the same person.
What should I do about the Gregory Smith article, they reverted my last reversion of theirs & I can't revert again without it looking like edit warring. Take care, LooksGreatInATurtleNeck (talk) 15:53, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
@LooksGreatInATurtleNeck I took care of it. However, and for future reference, reverting edits by obvious socks or block evading IPs is one of the few exceptions to 3RR. -Ad Orientem (talk) 16:01, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
Hello Ad Orientem! Thanks for taking care of it. "reverting edits by obvious socks or block evading IPs is one of the few exceptions to 3RR" I figured that would likely be the case but wanted to be cautious not to overstep. I've seen a few editors get sucked into trouble in the pursuit of pests like this before. Thank-you again for your time on this! Take care, LooksGreatInATurtleNeck (talk) 16:06, 28 August 2024 (UTC)

Appeal on hold

Trying to catch you before you head off in to the great vast North (where Off! is not optional). Discussion at this appeal you put on hold seems to have petered out. Should it be closed one way or another? I've spend this week reviewing some of the oldest open appeals and there's very little low-hanging fruit. There are a few where I've spend easily a half hour to an hour reviewing all of the edit history, discussions, cross-wiki behaviour and so on and then just thrown my hands up because I can't decide whether to unblock.-- Ponyobons mots 20:58, 30 August 2024 (UTC)

Good question. I think it's probably worth unblocking. You are welcome to do so now, or I'll do it when I'm back on Tuesday/early Wednesday. Why not right now? I'd like to monitor for further violations and won't be able to do so for the next few days. Thanks for bringing this back to my attention! --Yamla (talk) 21:00, 30 August 2024 (UTC)

User considering retirement

I expect to retire and hence shut down my user accounts on wikipedia. When you have time, could you delete all of my sandboxes, talkpages, archives etc. My main account has been as shaidar cuebiyar. Secondary/additional accounts included User:Ulterior aurum and User:Road to Oblivion. Thank you.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 22:30, 30 August 2024 (UTC)

No need for me to be involved. You can tag the pages you want deleted using Template:Db-g7. Provided you are the only one who made substantial edits to the page, it will then be deleted. Where others have made substantial edits, there are likely no grounds for the page to be deleted. --Yamla (talk) 11:18, 31 August 2024 (UTC)

SockPuppet Investigation

Hi @Yamla: you blocked NEET Scam indefinitely another similar account appears in the name User:Das capitalist. what is interesting the day you blocked @Neet Scam, this @Das capitalist account was created in the same day. New and unusual users

You're going on another vacation? I hope you realize you've used up the amount of vacation Wikipedia permits administrators, so this one won't be paid. Camping again?

See the deleted Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/S0091. There's no merit to the allegations of socking by S0091. I'm not as sure about SunnyScion, but the one that principally concerns me is StrongDeterrence. Their activity is not the stuff of a new user. Enough to take a look?--Bbb23 (talk) 17:23, 4 September 2024 (UTC)

Partly camping, partly visiting friends and in-laws, partly observing the dark night sky. I'll expect the Foundation to cover my fuel costs at least. Or alternatively, pay me the standard vacation rate. As that's zero, that's probably what they'll go with :) This time, I'll probably have my laptop with me so won't be completely offline.
StrongDeterrence reminds me of Shewasafairy. The last sock there is probably Comintell. There's at least one other LTA who targets articles like this, I just can't recall off the top of my head. What is your opinion? Honestly, I'm inclined to seek a second opinion before running the CU tools here. --Yamla (talk) 19:43, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
I agree with you about Shewasafairy in terms of kinds of edits, but although there is a significant amount of article intersection among the confirmed socks, StrongDeterrence intersects on only one article, Writesonic. See report. At the same time, the intersection on Writesonic is pretty telling. Comintell was trashing the article's notability and promotional content, and ShowDeterrence nominated the article for deletion. Are you talking about a "second opinion" of another CheckUser?--Bbb23 (talk) 20:01, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
Yeah. I'll email someone. If the overlap was tighter here, I think it would be a slam dunk. But it's a case where I'd like someone else with CU to agree before running a check, to avoid problems. I'll let you know what they say! --Yamla (talk) 20:08, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
See Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Shewasafairy. Inconclusive due to proxy use, but that's sufficiently suspicious so a temporary indefinite block is now in place. --Yamla (talk) 22:53, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
Thanks.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:52, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
I would look at User:Brandon too.. ive seen the exact same editing and focus from his account.. its so blatant i wonder if the account was hacked. SunnyScion (talk) 15:04, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
That's a pretty serious charge to make against an administrator without a speck of evidence.--Bbb23 (talk) 15:52, 5 September 2024 (UTC)
Your right, i didnt do any interaction history to find specific pages they edited on but they were talking about editing focus on tech and depreciating the pages while removing sources. T
His account seems to be doing the same thing, over the same period, in the same field. SunnyScion (talk) 16:39, 5 September 2024 (UTC)

Can you revert the editing from Podistovy since he was confirmed to be a sock puppet? 79.17.172.126 (talk) 21:43, 8 September 2024 (UTC)

No need for admin attention on that. --Yamla (talk) 09:40, 9 September 2024 (UTC)

I'm clean. Thank you 79.17.172.126 (talk) 09:44, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
Specifically, note that it appears you may be the same person behind 95.248.34.201 from last month. I'm not saying you are, only that it appears you may be. If so, that block would still apply. --Yamla (talk) 09:46, 9 September 2024 (UTC)

It's just that I saw what it's known to be a sockpuppeput account modifying the page and asked if I could rectify that. By the way, an Ip is modying it right now, possibly the same perso. of the puppet account. I reverted it once, but if he does again I don't want to be dragged in a edit war so an administrator will need to intervene if needed 79.17.172.126 (talk) 11:09, 9 September 2024 (UTC)

@Yamla this IP is obviously the same as the IP blocked previously (95.248.34.201). Check the location Yonasse (talk) 12:50, 9 September 2024 (UTC)

Block evasion

@Yamla It seems obvious to me that 79.17.172.126 is a block evasion of 95.248.34.201 and 87.9.223.167. The three of them have the same location, same behaviour and are editing the same things in the same articles. Yonasse (talk) 15:04, 9 September 2024 (UTC)

You're clearly Xiaomichael under another sock account. I hope Yamla or another check user check and, in case it is indeed the case, ban you 79.17.172.126 (talk) 16:29, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
Funny to accuse others when you are using multiple IPs like this one 95.248.34.201 and you are blocked for that. Yonasse (talk) 16:31, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
Funny thing is you started accusing after reverting those pages to a puppet account's version 79.17.172.126 (talk) 16:35, 9 September 2024 (UTC)
I restored the page to the version before vandalism Yonasse (talk) 16:39, 9 September 2024 (UTC)

cognition

Welp, the permaban hurdle has been cleared. But just because one can do a thing does not mean one should or must. I think carrying this request at this time to the community would be futile and a waste of time. What do you say? -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 18:40, 15 September 2024 (UTC)

Look, I'll be honest. If it gets carried over to the community, I'd vote against an unban and suggest an extended time period before they'd be permitted to contest the ban again. Basically, have the community provide some clarity over if or when we'd be willing to have them back. In that respect, I think it's worth a discussion and (breathless optimism), maybe the discussion doesn't have to be protracted. I think it's borderline inappropriate for Cognition to even contest the ban, but meh. On the other hand, I think it's entirely appropriate for you to bring the discussion over to the community. --Yamla (talk) 13:00, 16 September 2024 (UTC)

Regarding Autisticeditor20's continuous block evasion

Dear Yamla,

We recently managed to catch a (I'm pretty sure) VPN IP that's confirmed to be a sockpuppet of Autisticeditor20, despite the last time they used an IP sock they wrote an "apology letter" apologizing for their wrongdoings (the one that you replied to).

That apology was a lie. They didn't stop. They still continue to sock this time making edit requests like they said in their fake apology that they want to recommend other users to edit for them.

Considering we're dealing with a user with a confirmed neurological disorder, this is going to be hard as they are borderline obssessed with editing and they will go out of their way to break through the authorities to get what they desire.

How do you plan on dealing with this in the future?

Best Regards,

LoverOfAllAnimalsActivist LoverOfAllAnimalsActivist (talk) 02:20, 23 September 2024 (UTC)

So, I have no plan on dealing with this in the future. :) In general, WP:SPI is your go-to. Checkusers can't tie IP addresses to specific editors, but we are permitted to block IP addresses without comment and that's really easy to do if the IP address in question is a proxy. More generally, dealing with users who are unable to stop editing can be challenging. Often, if we block the new IP address and revert 100% of the edits and do that a few times, they get the message. Some users just don't, though, and sometimes even escalate as far as death threats for literally years at a time. --Yamla (talk) 14:45, 23 September 2024 (UTC)

Hi Yamla, I noticed on Nepenthes bokorensis that you reverted an IP user, and changed a link to Ovary (botany) back to just Ovary. I'm not sure what the IP use is/was doing in general (I think they might now be blocked) but it looks like there might be a few other similar reverts which now point to the animal ovary article rather than the (correct) plant one. I've corrected the link on the above N. bokorensis article but didn't want to go unrv-ing a load of admin rvs without discussion. Best, YFB ¿ 11:39, 4 October 2024 (UTC)

You, an editor in good standing, are very welcome to revert any of those rollbacks from me if you believe it appropriate. I was bulk-reverting under WP:RBI from a banned editor known for, among other things, introducing bad information to articles. There's a limited amount of additional information I can provide here due to privacy concerns, by hopefully that answers your question. Unrv-ing a load of my (admin) rv's would be perfectly fine here, so long as you check the edit is correct, and you'll receive thanks rather than criticism from me! --Yamla (talk) 11:49, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
Great, thought that was probably the context but always worth checking. Thanks for the quick reply, I'll take a look through the history and clean up any others :) YFB ¿ 11:55, 4 October 2024 (UTC)

Addition of unsourced or improperly cited material, unexplained removal of maintenance tags, advertising or promotion

Hello, Yamla. Can you check for edits from people who are causing Wikipedia to lose its warning system? This is because an administrator has rolled back edits from the person using the IP address range 2001:1388:A44:0:0:0:0:0 and 2001:1388:A45:0:0:0:0:0 multiple times

Can you investigate this anomaly and revert the last disruptive edit? IP address 2001:1388:A44:5700:28FE:5648:2A79:8595 [3] The administrator has verified that it is the same as the user. @Rosalinares1 permanently blocked The first account was blocked for causing harassment, writing content without references, and removing maintenance tags on the article. Nine (singer) may have a conflict of interest. The content is from a fan's point of view. New accounts are created, multiple accounts are misused. After the administrator warned and rolled back the edit, it returned to adding a large amount of content without any references. Delete maintenance tags without explanation or correct them multiple times.

After checking the edit history Talking with system viewers on Wikipedia in Thai and English, the answer is that they are fans, close people, organizations, or camps of Nine (singer) adding content that shouldn't be on Wikipedia. There are reminders and suggestions on how to write every time. But still use the IP address to do the same thing more than 40 times. All of this was added in one big piece with no source. Most of the time it doesn't stand out. may have a conflict of interest (COI).

Many IP addresses come from the same person. 2 IP address ranges 2001:1388:A44:0:0:0:0:0 and 2001:1388:A45:0:0:0:0:0 Addition of unsourced or improperly cited material, unexplained removal of maintenance tags on Nine (singer) All edits from the IP address found to be the same person. Harassing and deleting content in other articles which had administrators warn and rollback more than 42 disruptive edits Found the latest edit, redo it. 2001:1388:A44:5700:28FE:5648:2A79:8595 [4] 2001:1388:A44:E5F7:24AC:CE3C:BE06:1E4A [5] 2001:1388:A44:EDDB:98F3:C8BE:82C6:175D [6]

Repeatedly adding unsourced content and deleting maintenance tags by correcting them and not explained in the article Nine (singer) in terms of being a fan club Due to adding content to live broadcast activities to sell products Duplicate content is added which is not important. As with most of the content in this article

The history of adding content is clearly the perspective of fans. Not outstanding There is no reference source. Much of the content in these sections seems to be little known events and awards. Likely of interest only to a small audience. Much of it should be removed: - Brand activity is a live broadcast selling products on Tmall and Taobao. - Cover version is a general cover of a song. The source of the YouTube link is from a fan account, not an official account.

The entire article was edited by the same person, unexplained removal of maintenance tags, and recently used a new IP address to add a lot of unsourced content. The history reveals many IP addresses from this person who has been harassing for a long time.[7] [8] [9] [10] [11] [12]

Edit history Nine (singer) has only one person, IP addresses starting with 2001:1388:A45 and 2001:1388:A44 all are the same person The edits will be made in the same way, namely adding information to the article without the source in Nine (singer) and deleting and disturbing other articles. which always has admin rollback This person made repeated changes with new IP addresses like this.

Administrators address disruptive IP address user behavior issues. Continuously adding unsourced content to Nine (singer) A single person from Lima, Peru, used the IP address to reverse an update notification. Unexplained deletion of maintenance tags Modifications were not performed according to the maintenance tag instructions. Please disturb other articles as well.[13] repeated addition of unsourced content I think examining a person is difficult. This person from Lima, Peru uses a different IP address every time they resolve. Every time delete and add information to another article. will be reversed Then edit again with the new IP address.

This person created information in the Nine (singer) article and also caused mischief in other articles. Add information without references Administrators always roll back edits that this person deleted on other articles. Editing that disturbs another article and edited and added information only to the article Nine (singer) The person using all IP addresses in this Nine (singer) article is the same person who removed the maintenance tag without editing it.

The person using all the IP addresses I attached is the same person. I'm only giving examples because there are many. The entire article Nine (singer) has an IP address from the same person from Lima, Peru, but the IP address in the update is different every time the information is added. This person deleted the maintenance tag notice. Delete without correcting Most articles lack references. As I looked at the article's history, Nine (singer) has been doing this for a long time, but no user has come to check on this person. MeetHoneyBee (talk) 19:42, 8 October 2024 (UTC)

No, I am not the right person to tackle this. If you think there's a violation of WP:SOCK, please use WP:SPI. If you think there's vandalism, please use WP:AIV. --Yamla (talk) 19:57, 8 October 2024 (UTC)

Hiya! Can you protect the article Lauren Chen for a bit longer? They are not going to stop. Thanks, Polygnotus (talk) 04:31, 9 October 2024 (UTC)

Done. I hope a lot of this will settle down after a certain election in November. --Yamla (talk) 11:14, 9 October 2024 (UTC)

Question

Hey, I'd like to thank you on the block you recently did. This user sent me encyclopedic messages and insults when I told him his article is not wikipedia worthy.

Hi, could I request that talk page access be revoked following the recent wall of text [14] from this user following their recent block appeal being declined. The wall of text includes accusations that I am racist and that I have harrassed the user, both of which are untrue. It seems to me to be highly inappropriate for a blocked user to use their talkpage to make such allegations. Kind regards, Axad12 (talk) 19:10, 17 October 2024 (UTC)

Done. --Yamla (talk) 19:29, 17 October 2024 (UTC)
Thank you Yamla for your swift action here, I appreciate it.
Best wishes, Axad12 (talk) 19:33, 17 October 2024 (UTC)

Idiot sock

As seen here (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User_talk:Jerome_Koelpin; this guy is not pulling just our legs, it's the entire body!), they returned here (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Special:Contributions/Prince_Deckow_Sr.).

Just delivered me a message (while logged off, i have ZERO problems admitting it because whether i edit with account or without one my behaviour is always THE SAME) here after adding THREE sources to the Luismi (footballer, born 1992) article (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User_talk:85.245.74.117). What a lowlife!!!

Attentively, continue the good work RevampedEditor (talk) 18:18, 19 October 2024 (UTC)

PP

Hey Yamla, following the talk page posts, it’s come to my attention there have been posts about me on a Menendez subreddit the past few days (example), who seem to think my removal of SYNTH/uncited stuff is insidious.

The same user also made a request for users of this subreddit to begin editing the article: "I've got all the edits and citations ready to go—just need a hand getting them in there".

A user with the same username (Kimiashn) posted another lengthly argument on the talk page citing primary source hours long CourtTV videos, turning it into a forum to vent.

Perhaps a 30/500 PP would help to cool this down for a month or so. No worries if it’s best to wait.

Hi Zenomonoz,
I wanted to jump in and address a few things regarding your recent edits and the tone of the conversation.
First off, I’ve added timestamps to the CourtTV videos you mentioned to help clarify key points, but I’d recommend that anyone involved in editing this article actually watches the whole first trial and reads the transcripts of the second. It’s super easy to misinterpret things when you’re just pulling snippets from a testimony rather than listening to both direct and cross-examinations.
I’m relatively new to Wikipedia but I’m not new to the facts surrounding this case. Some of your recent edits which I have discussed on the talk page, seem to lack proper citations and misrepresent trial events. It’s concerning given the complexity of the legal proceedings and the defamatory impact this article may have on living people.
One more thing that raises concern for me is that the article leaves out key defense evidence and the few times it does include it, it skips over important details. Take the naked photographs of the boys—it mentions those but ignores that the envelope had Kitty Menendez’s handwriting on it, suggesting she was the one who kept them. This was mentioned briefly before you edited the article.
I'm not sure why you're suggesting that my comments on the subreddit or the talk page are somehow problematic. I just want to make sure the information in the article is based on court testimony and not just the media narrative of the 90s.
It's better if we focus on factual accuracy rather than trying to silence others. Kimiashn (talk) 20:34, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
This message is about the potential for edit warring and meat puppetry you’re encouraging off wiki.
The end of the sentence about photographs was removed because it was not in the WP:RS cited.
The trial was extremely long (half a year?). Plenty of parts in the prosecution case will not be discussed either because it’s trivial and not discussed in secondary sources. It's not the job of Wikipedia editors to go hunting through videos and finding bits they think are important.
Zenomonoz (talk) 23:01, 21 October 2024 (UTC)
I get that editing an article on such a lengthy case can be challenging. There’s barely any overlap between those who are well-versed in the trials and Wikipedia admins. That's why collaboration is important. Providing sourced information from those who know the case well isn’t meat puppetry; it’s a necessary part of improving the article’s accuracy.
I’ve got to say, I’m really concerned about the edits you’ve made. It’s not just that you’ve removed important information, but you’ve also added some pretty blatant inaccuracies that contradict what was actually proven in the trials. Remember, we’re dealing with living people here, and defamatory false information can have serious consequences.
Your point about the need for reliable sourcing is valid, but I believe that some of the details of the trial deserve careful consideration. The photographs you mentioned, for instance, are part of a broader context that should not be overlooked. Proof of Kitty Menendez’s complicity is not trivial whatsoever. If you’re looking for timestamps, it’s mentioned during closing arguments at 18:50 and during Lyle Menendez’s testimony at 1:02:50. Here’s a recent article discussing Kitty’s handwriting on the envelope: [15]https://www.ranker.com/list/facts-left-out-netflix-monsters-menendez-brothers/melissa-sartore Kimiashn (talk) 08:01, 22 October 2024 (UTC)

Invitation to participate in a research

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team

Clarification

I've unblocked MotorsportsFan13 per a successful unblock request. This wasn't a CU block, and I got permission from the blocking admin (and also assumed you would not object per your comments on their talk), but I noticed you'd tagged their userpage as being a confirmed sock. Are you good if I remove that tag? Elli (talk | contribs) 06:32, 29 October 2024 (UTC)

No objection! --Yamla (talk) 09:42, 29 October 2024 (UTC)

IPBE

Hiya. I'm looking at the unblock request at User talk:Kyleroo and thinking that IPBE might be an option. They're static on the IP they mention and their edits do indeed look to be fine. This would allow them to continue to edit when logged in despite the rangeblock your placed to catch I (assume) socks unrelated to Kyleroo.-- Ponyobons mots 17:40, 31 October 2024 (UTC)

I have no objection. I generally tell people using proxies to, you know, stop doing so. But as you know, that's challenging in some countries. --Yamla (talk) 17:50, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
Yeah, it's trickier with the P2P stuff and country-wide VPN dotting the otherwise legit networks. This just seems like an edge case where there's no intent to obfuscate and with pretty much only upside to keep them engaged and editing.-- Ponyobons mots 17:54, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
