Please take action
Hi there, please can you take action on against User:46.64.146.45 and User:BethIsrael as I have had to revert edits on the Jonathan Cahn again, the information is basically inappropriate and making it advertosement for Johnathan Cahn which is not keeping the page natua and your warnings are doing no good at so I request further action like blocking please as it is just messing up the page in question and if you can't do please pass it on to someone who will. Thanks (MOTORAL1987 (talk) 16:33, 22 April 2015 (UTC))
- There is not a lot I can do at this point - did you try talking with the editor? --Dirk Beetstra T C 16:43, 22 April 2015 (UTC)
I haven't spoken to either one of them no but considering you have put several messages on their pages, in fact they are two accounts from the same person I believ and have fallen completely on deaf ears somehow I don't think the editor is going to take much notice, I am just fed of having to revert but I don't have much knowledge myself on how to tackle this sort of problem. thanks for getting back to me so quick and I know there are other editors who like me who feel the same. (MOTORAL1987 (talk) 16:48, 22 April 2015 (UTC))
- Wait .. there are more than just that IP and that account - there are more IPs in that range active on that, and other pages. That makes both handing out blocks or protecting pages not necessarily helpful. I will see to give that a try anyways. --Dirk Beetstra T C 17:58, 22 April 2015 (UTC)
Thank you, we must do something, I will be keeping as close a eye as possible, will let you know of further problems. (MOTORAL1987 (talk) 18:13, 22 April 2015 (UTC))
- If you think a block will help, WP:AIV is a better place to post a request, and WP:RFPP is a good place for asking for page protections - both pages have more eyes on them. It would be good if the data that gets changed all the time got proper, even if primary, sources on them so it is easier for admins to check 'what is correct'. --Dirk Beetstra T C 18:28, 22 April 2015 (UTC)
Thank you very much I have taken the appropriate action and sent requests to WP:AIV, thanks for your help again. (MOTORAL1987 (talk) 21:27, 22 April 2015 (UTC))

Stefie Shock - Facebook link reverted
Hi,
I am the social media manager of the artist Stefie Shock (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Stefie_Shock). The facebook link (https://www.facebook.com/StefieShockmusique?ref=hl) I added to his auto generated wikipedia article has been made purposefully for the sake of his visibility and on the demand of mister Stefie Shock. I would like to see this link reintegrated to its original place.
Thank you.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Tandem.mu (talk • contribs)
- @Tandem.mu: "his auto generated wikipedia article has been made purposefully for the sake of his visibility and on the demand of mister Stefie Shock" .. Please review WP:NOT, WP:SPAM, WP:NPOV etc., all of which you are blatantly violating, as well as WP:EL for why the facebook link is inappropriate. Please stop your promotion activities on Wikipedia, repeated abuse of Wikipedia's servers will result in blacklisting of material and deletion/salting of pages. --Dirk Beetstra T C 21:13, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
I worked hard to update an entry, and it was all deleted
I added many updates to the page for Billy Collins. http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Billy_Collins
I spent a lot of time on this, included only accurate, verified information, and then it was all deleted.
Please help me learn why this was done and how to un-do it. Thank you.

hijacked web site, advertising, doing business on wikipedia
Information about Homeyra, and Iranian singer is being used for business and advertising. They have created a site under her name and have put it on wiki for sale.
this is against selling, advertising, or doing business on wikipedia.
the page is: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Homeyra
and on the right box they list the web site address for sale, when you click on it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mehrdad214 (talk • contribs) 20:13, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
- @Mehrdad214: I see you re-reverted the bot. I had a look at the article, and I do not see any references. On a BLP that is a serious issue, we need at least some references showing notability, and I think this is very strange for a singer who has been in the business for more than half a century (she started singing at 16, now she is 70). I have therefore brought the article up for a deletion discussion. I however do hopoe you can help. --Dirk Beetstra T C 03:40, 30 April 2015 (UTC)

- @92.156.193.124: - the license is not XLinkBot's mission, its mission is to help stopping inappropriate link additions and spam. Often email addresses are either spam, and generally unwise to have in mainspace anyway (that email address will just collect a lot of spam if a spambot managed to parse it out). Unfortunately there are a couple of things looking like email addresses that aren't really .. this is one that indeed may be catchable and hence can be put onto a whitelist as exclusion. --Dirk Beetstra T C 12:56, 30 April 2015 (UTC)
homeyra should not be deleted
wiki page: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Homeyra should not be deleted. Homeyra is the most famous persian female classical singer. She is considered to be Ella Fitzgerald of Iranian music and millions of Iranians listen to her music every day. That's why she becomes the target for abuse. Somebody is using her name and trying to sell and auction off domains names on her wiki page. This abuse is done by:
DVLPMNT MARKETING, INC. Street: Hunkins Plaza Main Street P.O. Box 556, City: Charlestown, State/Province: Nevis
They use wikipedia to sell domain names. We just have to stop abuse, not delete it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mehrdad214 (talk • contribs) 20:59, 30 April 2015 (UTC)
- The abuse should stop as well, I agree. But the article should also be notable according Wikipedia's notability policies/guidelines. I agree that she is notable in Iran, but I haven't seen much mention of her outside of that area. Please include references that show notability outside of Iran, and I am sure that the discussion will be closed in favour of keeping (and I may even retract my suggestion). --Dirk Beetstra T C 08:10, 3 May 2015 (UTC)

Jonathan Cahn
His correct birthday is: September 25, 1959 - www.safesearch.net/jonathan+Cahn
Another correction that should go up is:
The article speaks of The Harbinger, which is right, but makes no mention of the next major book The Mystery of the Shemitah, which has not only been a NYTimes bestseller, but has come out even stronger than did The Harbinger. A simple sentence along the lines of:
In 2014, Cahn released The Mystery of the Shemitah connecting the ancient biblical seven-year cycle to the rise and fall of economies, the collapse of Wall Street, and the rise and fall of nations.
One other should include: The original article had mentioned that Cahn gave the keynote address at the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast.
should be replaced with: In 2013, Cahn delivered the keynote address in Washington DC, at the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast.
Should also include:
In April, 2015, Cahn spoke at the United Nations concerning the persecution of Christians worldwide. He has spoken annually on Capitol Hill before Members of Congress and leaders of faith.

Hello,
The above link to PlayStore download app is all over Wikipedia under Fantasy Sports, Fantasy Cricket, Daily Fantasy Sports since quite a few months. Constructive Criticism
Hi. Let me know what I can do to make my article better. I removed the link to the blog review, but replaced all the reference links (at the bottom--which were also removed (?)) which supported all the quotes from critics at trusted sources, as well the poet's list of works and awards. None of the material violates copyright/was cut and pasted, as the first editor suggested, which is still in a big box at the top of my page. It was all written by me, except the quotes from critics, of course. Which have now been referenced. Ranger x (talk) 10:46, 13 May 2015 (UTC)Ranger x
- I've cleaned up the article - the blog might be a reference, though blogs are generally not considered reliable sources. --Dirk Beetstra T C 11:28, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
False positive
Just a note to let you know that this is definitely a false positive. It reverted my edit claiming that I had added a link to the website free.fr. Not only did I not link to free.fr, I did not even add any link to the article. All I did was edit text around an existing link to st-and.ac.uk. I reverted it and made other edits. -- 173.150.213.44 (talk) 00:25, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
- @173.150.213.44: Hi, no, it is not really a false positive, though a quirk of the system where the detection breaks: in this version the page is broken, resulting in the bottom half of the page not being parsed by the software. Through the fix you applied here it unboke, and it appears to the system that you added all the external links that are at the bottom of the page. Because that included the 'addition' of the free.fr page, the bot got triggered. My apologies again. --Dirk Beetstra T C 03:30, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
Cut and paste/plagiarist knee-jerk response still there...
Hi. Thank you for the help on my article (assuming it was you.) My question now is: why is this box still at the top of my page, which is barely discernible, even to a somewhat intelligent person such as my self? : "Copyright-problem paste 2.svg This article may have been copied and pasted from a source, possibly in violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy. Please remedy this by editing this article to remove any non-free copyrighted content and attributing free content correctly, or flagging the content for deletion. Please be sure that the source of the copyright violation is not itself a Wikipedia mirror. (May 2015)"
My article was not copy and pasted from anywhere, and now all my sources have been adequately referenced. (PS I looked at other contemporary writers wiki pages, and noted mine was much more fully sourced...) Anything else I need to do? PS-I do not take plagiarism lightly, so this really got under my skin. When will the dreaded box begone :) Ranger x (talk) 11:19, 14 May 2015 (UTC)Ranger x
- @Ranger x: - I guess you can remove the box, if someone finds that it is still a likely copy/paste from somewhere, it will likely be retagged. --Dirk Beetstra T C 11:36, 14 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Ranger x: - I have however re-added other tags, and cleaned up the internally used external links again - please follow our policies and guidelines. --Dirk Beetstra T C 11:57, 14 May 2015 (UTC)

- @41.58.226.11: That is always difficult, if it is known and reliable people will publish it - they can find it anyway. Otherwise indeed it can and should be removed. But I see you are already getting help with this. --Dirk Beetstra T C 03:16, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
Please check before you delete
I saw your message, and found that you have deleted a few external links. Please note that The Fox Chase Review and Reading Series is a significant literary journal published in Philadelphia [Pennsylvania], and they don't publish advertisements. Hence, the links that I placed under "External Links & References" are valid and important. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shambhabi (talk • contribs) 03:42, 30 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Shambhabi: That is not an inclusion standard, is it? That whole list is anyway completely out of scope for Wikipedia in this way, I have deleted thew hole list, and only included his official website. Do note, the page is in the scope of WP:BLP and utterly unreferenced - I probably will nominate it for deletion shortly. --Dirk Beetstra T C 05:09, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

Paul Morantz
I made changes on my entry out of frustration of about 8 years. Back then you wrote do something it was one sided. I wrote this was disparaging of me and if they wanted negative views see if they could find them. If something written in background too much edit it. I sais I didn't write it, but obviously people who did were advocates. You then eventually removed that disparaging paragraph but now replaced it.
You have changed the description of my specialty 3 times in the pasr. Originally it was correct. It is correct now.
Somebody took out fact I was part of Molko legal team concluding I didn't do enough. Ask Ford Greene how much I did. I wrote writ for Leal, spent 2 1/2 months pro bono on amicus brief and did plaintiff's oral rebuttal argument. One can track my brief with court's decision. I have a video of my speaking before the Supreme Court. This was main accomplishment of my career which is now subject of 2 documentaries.
Last, as article on est says, after I intervened LAPD est training stopped.
You removed or shorten many other things, but that is your right. I only complain when you describe inaccurately my l.specialty and remove 2 of the 4 things that caused people to put me up in first place.
I would like this ended. I think Wikipedia does a service in organizing resource material, but none I have seen--about 1/2 dozen I am in are completely accurate and the public knows this about Wikipedia. You make contributing accuracy very difficult. Nor do people have time or abilities to go through your rule book. I am giving you advance notice of what I did. Sources are next to it. Appreciate if this is resolved and once again you remove para. suggesting entry is one-sided. And you have had 8 years to tone it down. I have about 10,000 entries on net. Your welcome to assign people to read them all. 108.38.31.251 (talk) 20:30, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
- @108.38.31.251: - I have reverted the bot as suggested to you, but removed the 'offending' link - the general facebook (or even a specific post) is really not a proper reference there. I have also put all links into references as throughout the document. Please have a look. --Dirk Beetstra T C 05:05, 31 May 2015 (UTC)
- Unfortunately two of those "sources" are not acceptable as they written by the subject, Paul Morantz, himself (L.A. Time opinion article and additional commentary from his own website.) Also, the USC link is simply a general description of the papers in their archives and is not, under any circumstances, acceptable as a source for the kind of edits you are attempting to make, which are the same exact edits attempted just prior by Paul Morantz himself. XLinkBot reversion of external link to YouTube
Wikipedia's policies and guidelines on linking to external sites such as YouTube do not seem to be universally applicable. Many Wikipedia pages contain external links to YouTube pages; these links have presumably not been reverted by XLinkBot. My attempt earlier today to place such a link on https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Peter_Warlock was reverted, even though that page already contained a separate YouTube link not placed by me.
I do not wish to cause problems, nor do I wish to fall foul of XLinkBot again. How is it possible that one external YouTube link is permitted, while another on the same Wikipedia page is not? And how am I to know, at the point of editing, whether a proposed link will be acceptable?
If you can shine any light in the darkness, it would be much appreciated!
ArchivesofSound (talk) 12:16, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
- @ArchivesofSound: - why do you think that the first external link is allowed? Maybe it fails our inclusions standards, or it's inclusion has been discussed (also per that same external links guideline)? I'll have a look. --Dirk Beetstra T C 07:46, 7 June 2015 (UTC)
- I have removed the youtube, it fails WP:ELNO #13. The Youtube is a representation of something by Peter Warlock, not about himself. I have the feeling that the imdb also fails that same point. --Dirk Beetstra T C 07:49, 7 June 2015 (UTC)

Hello !
Thank you for your edit on the new article Awans of Pakistan. I have reorganized the entire article. I have now made sections and also added categories at the end. Although I have added few links but I might work on a few more links so I have not removed the 'orphan' tag as yet. Thank you so much again. :) Pixarh (talk) 06:16, 7 June 2015 (UTC)

XLinkBot reversion of external link to YouTube (follow-up)
@Dirk Beetstra- Hello Dirk. Thank you for taking the trouble to reply to my query. I agree that the two YouTube links under discussion fail WP:ELNO #13. The article mentions a specific musical work by Warlock (to which the YouTube links applied, in an illustrative sort of way) but is not about that work exclusively. I also agree that the IMDB link fails, for the same reason - even more emphatically, since it links to a general film about Warlock's life.

Hotel Broadalbin
Not sure entirely of the etiquette here - I attempted to add the Facebook link and the homepage link of the Broadalbin Hotel to its Wikipedia page. I don't see anything in the guidelines preventing a Facebook link but I can understand auto-removing Facebook links, I suppose. I don't see why the website link shouldn't be included, however. It seems relevant to know what the current goings-on are... let me know if I am way off base as I don't want to re-add it only to have that removed again. (www.broadalbinhotel.com if you want to look it over.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.224.110.182 (talk) 05:09, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
- @72.224.110.182: - I have re-inserted the official link, but left out the facebook. The relevant part of the External links guideline is WP:ELOFFICIAL - we tend not to list all official links of the subject, only what is deemed to be the most official link. The bot reverts the whole edit and notifies the editors suggesting to re-do the edit if it contained more information than just the 'offending' link (but then to leave out the offending link), which I just did. --Dirk Beetstra T C 05:24, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
kaleidoscope
I added a link to youtube that has videos, I create, on making kaleidoscopes and tools to help make kaleidoscopes. It does not violate your rules from what I have read. It is more valuable to the kaleidoscope community than many if not all the books quoted in the article.
But at this time, I don't think I want you to link to my instructional videos.

You are Wrong
Hello,
I can only assume that Wikipedia are NOT interested in HISTORY. In ENGLAND we are.
The site and the external links that you have taken upon yourself to remove are NOT commercial in any way, they tell the story of a famous business and their premises that CLOSED down back in the early 1980's.
For your information, our local Council, the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral have requested and are in the process of putting all the original documentation regarding the contents of this web site into their safe achieves at the Borough's Town Hall. Its a shame Wikipedia want to hide all this from the World.

George Saunders Youtube Video
I added a link to a video hosted by YouTube in the external links section of author George Saunders' page. The video is of a significant talk by Mr. Saunders abot his own work.
Wikipedia's policy states that links cannot be posted to YouTube that violate the copyright of the original artist/user. I work for the organization that owns the copyright to the video, and have been authorized to post the video by the director. Is there any way that I can show that I have permission to share the content so that the video can be posted?

- @Puremultiple: What you cite is indeed a complete exclusion criterion. However, it is not the only criterion that we use determining whether a link should be included (copyright problems are not very often a problem, though still in a significant number of cases. I do wonder if on a page with 33 references, a significant amount of prose, and already 5 external links, whether this link is adding anything that is not yet included / can not be included as content (so the interview would fail WP:ELNO #1 / the intro of the external links guideline). --Dirk Beetstra T C 08:43, 15 June 2015 (UTC)

Recognise fixed URLs vs entirely new links
I just tried to fix the broken link on Barunka O'Shaughnessy's page to her Myspace profile.
Myspace pages are now exclusively only on https, and trying to go to the insecure, http link, now leads straight to the Myspace homepage: http://www.myspace.com/i_am_sasha
My request is simple: When a simple change is made, such as changing the protocol on a link from insecure to secure, maybe have the bot recognise that it isn't an entirely new link and that it may be for the better (after all Wikipedia itself has entirely switched to https). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.243.208.165 (talk) 10:03, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
- @89.243.208.165: That should have a low occurance, and a reasoned revert is there in place. Most of the MySpaces should not be there in the first place, and not be repaired but removed (and those repairs could also be done by a bot (who will not be reverted) or AWB (which means a regular who will also not be reverted), or just done by regulars (who will not be reverted)), see WP:ELOFFICIAL for more info.
- If you are planning to take a good part of the task upon you yourself, then I can whitelist your IP (assuming it is static enough). --Dirk Beetstra T C 10:49, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks, but I don't intend to do any more edits on Wikipedia and my IP isn't static between router reboots – I did/do have an account, but I don't use it either.
- It might be worth considering sites that switch over from http to https and the need for those links to be updated. And it's not just Myspace, there's more sites making the change – just one recent post on the subject: https://moz.com/blog/seo-tips-https-ssl — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.243.208.165 (talk) 11:26, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
- @89.243.208.165: The best way is to omit the prefix or to template them: //www.myspace.com/i_am_sasha or
{{MySpace|i_am_sasha|Barunka O'Shaughnessy}}
: 'Barunka O'Shaughnessy on Myspace'. And then replace by bot is the cleanest and will trigger the least annoyances (also since the real bot-edits 'do not show up' (unless by design they are made to)). --Dirk Beetstra T C 13:14, 30 June 2015 (UTC)

- @Rexweiner1: - You can respond by editing the section on your talkpage and type your comments, or go to the talkpage of the editor that commented to you and reply there. The former is preferred, generally, keeping the discussion in one place. --Dirk Beetstra T C 03:21, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
False positive email address detection?
It looks as if this edit by XLinkBot to Suzhou Creek mistook the file name "File:Suzhou Creek From General Post(at)2011.jpg" for an email address due to the (at) sign, which I've censored here just to be safe. The edit summary says "email address removed", so I'm assuming that's what set it off. I don't see anything else that could have caused it. --diff (talk) 00:38, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

Strangely this edit did just that. All the best: Rich Farmbrough, 13:43, 11 July 2015 (UTC).

Killer Mike
No idea how to rectify the bot's edit summary with the actual reverted edit here. Malfunctioning? Antepenultimate (talk) 03:46, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- Crazy error - the editor first made an edit in which a reference mark got broken - that resulted in a lot of links after the inserted paragraph to not show up in the saved page. The consequtive edit (diff) repairs the broken ref, resulting in the second half of the page to be 're-added' to the saved page, and that includes the facebook which triggered the bot. Thanks for catching this! --Dirk Beetstra T C 11:08, 14 July 2015 (UTC)

Over-reverting
Just to point out that this edit reverted a lot of a user's contributions to the article, just because they'd also added an external link to blogspot. That seems rather OTT, particularly since the blogspot link is a very relevant one to have in the article! I've reverted the bot's edit. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 13:00, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Mike Peel: - please see the User:XLinkBot/FAQ, where this is explained. It is a choice, the other option often not being sufficient by far, and often leading to broken pages. Yet another reason why the bot's edits appear in the recent changes feeds. I hope this explains. --Dirk Beetstra T C 13:07, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Beetstra: OK, but why not just remove the link, in whatever format it's been added, rather than reverting edits? Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 14:17, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
- Ah, on a second look, that's in the FAQ already. So let me modify my suggestion to removing the line if it's been added in the external links section, if that line didn't exist already, and similar the sentence if in the main text. Basically what I'm saying is, you need to include more nuanced logic in your bot's work, rather than just reverting edits en masse. Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 14:40, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
- Any partial revert or 'attempt to only remove the part of the text with the link' results too often in 'broken' pages. The cleanest option is a complete revert, which is also the easiest to re-revert and repair then. --Dirk Beetstra T C 03:17, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

- @Mike Peel: Per WP:ELOFFICIAL, the most official link there is the link to the museum. That page links already to the other pages that are linked, which both are not official subjects of the page, and both fail our inclusion standards - we do not link to everything that is related to the subject, we do not link to everything that is telling about the subject, we only link to material that is needed for understanding of the subject. --Dirk Beetstra T C 13:12, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Beetstra: Sure, I'm generally against the existence of external links sections full stop, but in this case it seems to be a relevant (and official) website that happens to be running on blogspot, so it seems appropriate for the article (at least while it's not used as a reference). I completely agree with your edit, but I wasn't talking about those links! Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 14:17, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
- Removing the link can be just as problematic, as then there is no reference to the statements. A revert shows clearly in one's notifications, and it adds a clear link to the information page. There is no perfect solution and for all the years of the operation of the bot, an occasional OTT is not a bad effort. — billinghurst sDrewth 14:41, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Mike Peel: - I know it was the other links in the External links section - we are discussing the merit of those, the other ones were not part of this discussion so I could solve what I perceived as a problem with the statement. My problem with the blogspot (and the other link) is that unlike the museum link (which is about the subject directly), that e.g. the blogspot is about the restoration project (of the museum), which is indirect and therefore fails our inclusion standards. Moreover, the blogspot is linked from the direct museum external link. Our inclusion standards are not that it has to be a 'relevant (and official) website'. --Dirk Beetstra T C 03:17, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

Jonathan Cahn Edit Protection Extension
Hi there, a few months ago you placed the Jonathan Cahn page under edit protection after several attempts of putting promotional material onto the article. Since the protection was placed it has been very successful however the protection for the page runs out tomorrow and was wondering if you, especially as it was you who protected the page in the first place could extended the protection beyond tomorrow as I am concerned that we will have the same problems again once the protection runs out, Thank you (46.65.148.194 (talk) 05:29, 21 July 2015 (UTC))

- Ah, I did it. It expires today. If that is considered a signal to continue the warring I will either protect it again, or liberally hand out some blocks. Thanks for alerting me. --Dirk Beetstra T C 13:36, 22 July 2015 (UTC)

Reverting change to Fine Fare
You have reverted the change of Fine Fare, stating that this is a link that is on your list of removals. However the page is not an advertisement nor anthing that breaks wikipedia rules. The link is the reference of the Fine Fare store in Ramsgate, being not a memory but physical evidence. You have also deleted all the other changes that were made in reverting this change.94.101.168.68 (talk) 08:16, 28 July 2015 (UTC)
- @94.101.168.68: Thank you for your remark. I am actually tempted to remove that whole section, as that is utterly unencyclopedic detail. You do not see that type of information on Boots, Walmart or McDonalds either. Lists of that type, however reliable and sourced, do not belong in Wikipedia. A simple remark 'The shop could be found throughout the UK', referenced to a reliable list or an internet archive of the shop's own internet site locations list (if that exists) would be more, more than enough.
- Also noting, that a blogspot is not a reliable source, and that is why the bot reverted the edit. If that information is to be included, you'll have to find better sources than that (an internet archive of the shop's own internet site showing that information would be an option, if that exists).
- So yes, it does break wikipedia rules. --Dirk Beetstra T C 13:18, 28 July 2015 (UTC)
XLinkBot breaking links by reverting repairs on Turn_My_Head
The youtube links on https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Turn_My_Head use an obsolete format that results in youtube forwarding users to the LiveVEVO account home page. I've read through the rules on external links and believe the fixed links should be allowed. They clearly meet the "Official links" criteria, and don't obviously break any rules. But if they shouldn't be allowed, then XLinkBot's version of them should also definitely not be allowed. XLinkBot's version would have any problems the corrected urls have, then on top of that they break rule #2 for "official links." This article's primary subject is just the song, but the obsolete links lead to a page whose subject is many of the band's songs. And XLinkBot's links simply don't lead to where a reader would expect based on the text ("Official Music Video" and "Alternative Official Music Video.") 50.158.90.34 (talk) 07:32, 4 August 2015 (UTC)

Page and URL renaming issue
We are IFA Paris, an international fashion school. We have three international locations, so we have our Wikipedia page in these three languages:
https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/IFA_Paris This page we have recently edited and everything is satisfactory.
https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/IFA_Paris This page we will updated in the near future.
https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Fashion_Academy The problem is with this page, that the title is different, it should also be “IFA Paris” in the URL as well as on the page, just like the Chinese and English versions. We tried editing it but it doesn’t let us change the page name or URL, we just can change the text. Can you please rename it to “IFA Paris”, also make the URL like the others?
That would be great, then we could get to work in editing and completing this page. It is also important to us to have the correct name as our Wikipedia page is shown quite high in organic search results when searching for our brand name. Furthermore, Google displays International Fashion Academy in the local business and maps, and not IFA Paris. They take it from Wikipedia, so we must change it to our correct brand name.
Thanks so much in advance! Nikki38394724 (talk) 02:57, 6 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Nikki38394724: You'll have to raise that issue in fr.wikipedia, not here.

Canadian Museum of Rail Travel
Hello,
My name is Connor, and I was updating the description for the Cranbrook History Centre. After updating for 3 hours, my page was automatically deleted. I used information from our new website (cranbrookhistorycentre.com) so I was not citing as I go (because I am new to this). So how can I update the Wikipedia description without having everything deleted? Everything is from the website that I included at the end, so that could be included as a general reference. I would prefer not wasting more time typing the same thing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by StudsMcCormmick (talk • contribs) 21:00, 8 August 2015 (UTC)
- @StudsMcCormmick: I don't see this having anything to do with the bot. Anyway, you were including a lot of information. Some of that was promotional language, and in a non-Wikipedian style(You used 'fortunately' .. we are not writing a newspaper or an opinion piece, we are writing an encyclopedia). Moreover, the statements were not sourced to an independent source (that is, not a source that has relation to the museum). But you'd have to ask the person who reverted you for more info. --Dirk Beetstra T C 03:41, 9 August 2015 (UTC)

Re:Hobby Def:
- I'm not trying to promote my research
- My research is under Hypotesis (as I wrote in my post)
- My research is private since I have no time (40 years old now) to go to univ.
- Everyone knows that hobby is regular activity and enjoy doing it. "collecting bla bla bla ... etc" is not the definition. my friends say that wikipedia is scientific site, not spamming site. I myself hate spamming. I posted here since I try to study other reference, but I just get here. No approved definition I can find in study of "hobby". It's just a piece of cake, perhaps. But "Hobby" is the key of a process of human skill, intuition, creativity and so on.
- you can find other relevant references for that. I just want to share the best I can.

FAQ grammar and a clarification
Could someone possibly edit the FAQ please? The possessive "video's" is used in the FAQ to mean the plural "videos" and that really bugs some readers. It also violates WP:MOS. I'd do it myself but it seems the page is protected from editing. Thank you. Etamni | ✉ | ✓ 11:03, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
Second question -- I've read the FAQ but something remains unclear about this bot: Let's say that User A (an IP user) makes several constructive edits. Then other users make their own constructive edits. Then User A makes more constructive edits and then (perhaps in good faith) adds an external link to a blog (perhaps on blogspot) about the same subject. In this scenario, will the bot revert just the most recent string of edits back to the last edit by someone other than User A, or revert every edit back to the first edit by User A, including those edits made by other editors? Thank you for your attention to this matter. Etamni | ✉ | ✓ 11:42, 7 August 2015 (UTC)
- @Etamni: I've adapted the typo, and lowered the protection level. Note that non-mainspace articles are not necessarily having to follow WP:MOS.
- It will only revert the latest string of edits. It should never revert edits of other users than the editor who added an offending link. --Dirk Beetstra T C 03:37, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for fixing the typo. The reference to WP:MOS was intended to be humorous but as I read it again I see it fell a bit flat. Etamni | ✉ | ✓ 02:49, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
Why would a corrected link be reverted to a dead link and that dead link then not removed?
While looking for examples of radio or television adaptations of stories by the British writer John Wyndham I found the Wiki page “Consider Her Ways”. https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Consider_Her_Ways&gettingStartedReturn=true
Near the bottom of this page is an ‘External Links’ section, one of which is shown as The Alfred Hitchcock Hour: "Consider Her Ways" (1964) on YouTube Link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQJy-HYfMio
But when I click on it, I see a YouTube page that says “This video is unavailable – Sorry about that”
So I went to YouTube and found the correct link to that video which is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLPfPlbNQQQ
So as the line ‘External Links’ has the word [edit] next to it, I did, replacing the faulty link with the correct one.
But now I am told that change has been reverted. “The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLPfPlbNQQQ) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.”
So surely if the correct link is not acceptable then the wrong link should not be there either, so THAT also should be removed.
Please explain.

correction in article limb legthening methods
Hey, I don't know why all my improvement were not accepted. the name of the product fitbon is wrong, it is called FITBONE and so I don't know why I couldn't correct it. And I want to right something more about the use of the product but my changes weren't always accepted.
If my changes are not correct in your point of view than please let at least the wrong former content (name) in the article.
Another question is why the external link for the fitbone didn't work or was not accepted? If I saw the other different external link it is always the link for the distributers why I cant link the manufacturer of the FITBONE?
Thanks a lot. It would really help me to know why I cant do that little corrections, for better understanding an searching for other users. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.192.2.224 (talk) 08:58, 31 August 2015 (UTC)

Note, do not link to any song or video subject to copyright, and do not reproduce the lyrics in Wikipedia -- these are all problematic when it comes to being compliant with copyright laws. Michael Bennett page
Hi XLinkBot, this one is a quandary because that link is Michael Bennett's dedicated facebook page - created by me, but under the guidance of the late Michael Bennett's brother. I can appreciate the issue of copyright cross-over to linked pages, but you might clarify? Thank you. DamienSlattery (talk) 19:16, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
- @DamienSlattery: - but that is not a reason for us to link to it. We do not link to all online presences of a person, only the one that is deemed to be the main official website of the subject (with some exceptions if the person is also particularly known for their secondary website or if it is significantly more informative - I think that neither is here the case). --Dirk Beetstra T C 16:44, 28 September 2015 (UTC)
Dirk Beetstra, I see your logic about an official website, but I would heartily disagree with you on the latter comment of yours, as you are not exactly informed on what the FB page truly holds. DamienSlattery (talk) 17:26, 28 September 2015 (UTC)

I have reverted your reversion of a good edit. Please take note.
You reverted a good and useful edit on David Webb (Hong Kong activist). I have restored it, with a small tweak to the link which wasn't working properly. It is a valid link to an interesting interview with the subject of the article, which provides support for some of the information in that article. Perhaps you might consider whether your bot is over-enthusiastic.
I note also that part of the text you post on user pages after you revert an edit does not appear to make sense. You write "Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright...". Without any further explanation of who you mean by "the creator" this can only be taken to mean the creator of the site which is linked to. Yet what does it mean to say that a site may contain information in violation of the copyright of the creator of that same site? You seem to be saying that people are violating their own copyrights.
Perhaps you should think clearly what you are trying to say in that text, and rewrite it so it makes sense. Thank you92.90.16.163 (talk) 09:26, 4 October 2015 (UTC)
- @92.90.16.163: Well, what you added was a reference in the external links section. If you would have read through the rest of the article, you would see how references are added. Now there is an unsourced claim, and a loose a-specific external link. I have therefore done this.
- Regarding the copyright, blogspots sometimes contain copy-paste copyvio's, which indeed violate the copyrights of the creator of the content. But I'll have a look if I can update it a bit. --Dirk Beetstra T C 11:55, 4 October 2015 (UTC)

About the kyo band page
irina_orange Hello, XLinkBot. About the kyo band page, I understand that Twitter links are apparently not admitted on the page, but I'm French and now the problema, Kyosphère is now existing only on Twitter and the band is OK with it. This Twitter gaves the most of the informations about the band. Concerning the origin of the band, Yvelines is a departement of Ile-de-France (number 78), Absolutly not Brittany. You can see it on every cart of France, Yvelines are under Paris (number 75) in the same region, so this is an important error. Yours sincerely, Irina orange (talk) 11:16, 12 October 2015 (UTC)

robot seems broken; error on Walter Kaufmann (philosopher) page
The bot appears to have erred in making this change. Would someone please review that? Bo99 (talk) 13:05, 12 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Bo99: Likely, the old page does not seem to exist (anymore). --Dirk Beetstra T C 14:37, 13 October 2015 (UTC)
- So the robot seems broken in this regard:
- 1. The unregistered user Biopter very helpfully changed an outdated, nonworking link,
- <http://taimur.org/kaufmann> to the working address
- <http://taimur.wordpress.com/kaufmann>.
- 2. But then the robot changed the link back to the nonworking link.
- So it would seem a very good idea for someone to fix the robot so that it does not propagate its erroneous approach over and over.
- Bo99 (talk) 15:33, 13 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Bo99: No, it is not broken. Wordpress is still a blog, and most of the links to wordpress are simply failing our inclusion standards (and strictly speaking, this link also fails the inclusion standards of WP:EL/WP:NOT) - one could question if that link should have been there in the first place.
- And even if we decide that wordpress links are too often false-positives, then the solution is to remove the rule, it still is not a broken bot. I however think that wordpress reversions by the bot are still largely appropriate. --Dirk Beetstra T C 15:55, 13 October 2015 (UTC)

Louise Labe page has a broken link that I fixed, but it was rejected
On the Louise Labe page, at the bottom there is a link to "Translations of 24 sonnets". These translations were done by my late wife Alice Park. The link was to our Comcast home web page site. Comcast has now terminated all support for user web pages so this link is broken.
I have established a new site on WordPress and transferred all of Alice's poetry including the Louise Labe sonnet translations there. The link to the Louise Labe translations is:
https://davidandalicepark.wordpress.com/home-2/poetry/the-sonnets-of-louise-labe/
These are the same translations as the old link. (Someone else actually made that link.)
So I tried to fix it, and you rejected it and I don't know anymore how to work my way through the Wikipedia hurdles. Welcoming "old"users
I would suggest a change of condition making a user being welcomed on his talk page. Having no revisions is not the best indicator, for example my first edit is more than four years ago, so inserting a big colorful block with tens of help links, first of them to a page which has words As a new contributor... in the beginning is not quite useful. Maciekz (talk) 18:36, 2 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Maciekz: Having less than 10 edits, whatever the age of an account, ánd not having been talked to is however a reasonable indication of 'newness', and that is what the bot goes by. And age alone is never an indication of knowledge - I think that this error rate is extremely low - and I think that a late welcome is always better than none, isn't it? --Dirk Beetstra T C 13:31, 3 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Beetstra: While I totally agree that the number of edits is a reasonable indicator of newness as in assuming that the user is up to date with the rules, and I do not mean to change that, especially since the rules are adjusted at times. But a late welcome does seem a bit like pointing the user out as newbie, for example by the words As a new contributor, you may feel a little overwhelmed ... (those are found if you follow the wikilink Welcome). And having no talk page entries indicates mostly lack of interaction with the bots and, to some extent, doing changes which are not controversial. Maciekz (talk) 21:54, 4 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Maciekz: - what I mean is the product of the two - having less than 10 edits ánd a talkpage without any revisions. Welcoming an editor with 5000 edits and no remarks on the talkpage would be out of place (and the bot does not do that, because there are more than 10 edits by the editor), as is welcoming an editor with remarks and/or edits to their talkpage - which is also out of place. I agree that there may be editors who have been around for 5 years, no remarks on their talkpage, and who have no edits but nonetheless know their way around (as they usually edit as an IP for example, or just read before they started editing), but that will be very few editors (AFAIK, you're the first here, though that is not an indication either). --Dirk Beetstra T C 12:08, 6 December 2015 (UTC)

The bot is deleting a needed reference link
On the article about the Sámi people, under the culture section, the bot deleted the entire subsection on traditional games. This was likely because there was a link to a youtube video there. That video is referenced because it is an example of how Sámi culture is appropriated by outsiders for commercial purposes, and the Sámi origin of said culture belied - it's an ad in which a Sámi board game is sold by an American firm as a "traditional Russian game". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.191.8.110 (talk • contribs) 13:42, 8 December 2015

adding external link for pictures of cadet college petaro
Hello , This is Wasif Malik, former student of Cadet College Petaro. I have hundreds of pictures of Cadet College Petaro at my flick page. I took all these pictures and they are for free public viewing with no copyright issues. I own these pictures. Please allow this external link added by myself.
thanks Wasif Malik — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.19.196.238 (talk) 18:32, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
- @108.19.196.238: A plain collection of pictures, though illustrative, is hardly ever an expansion on the encyclopedic information the article is providing - generally articles have a couple of images included that illustrate the subject already, and linking to picture galleries does not expand on that significantly. Maybe you can upload a couple of the pictures for illustrating the article? --Dirk Beetstra T C 03:16, 22 December 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
I was just sent a message saying that I put too many external links and blamed me for spamming Wikipedia.
I did not want to spam anything, I was just modifying some obsolete information.
Yours sincerely

- @Krotpoulay: Hi, thanks for the message. You were not blamed for spamming, you were reverted because of addition of an inappropriate link. I agree with the bot here, the link should there indeed not be placed. --Dirk Beetstra T C 03:44, 10 January 2016 (UTC)

Problems with Pakistan related articles due to XLinkBot
Hello. Perhaps it is because I am anonymous and that's maybe the reason why the bot thinks that I am spamming, but according to this edit here I just fixed dead link. Since then I made a few of such edits since that link was pretty much dead in all Pakistan cities articles. Now my talkpage is full of blocking threats from your bot! Is there is a way to solve this issue? Many thanks.--184.97.149.210 (talk) 18:13, 16 January 2016 (UTC)
- @184.97.149.210: I have reinstated this section, as I do think it warrants an answer. No, I don't think the problem is solved. You are continuously adding a notoriously unreliable site as a reference: Fallingrain.com. Those links should all be replaced by a proper source, with the fallingrain one removed. --Dirk Beetstra T C 03:27, 17 January 2016 (UTC)
Nate Walka
Hi, I was updating Nate Walka's reference links on his Wiki page to make sure that the information was current and accurate (a previous author who created the official page link did so incorrectly). I updated the links again, since it was reverted by bot, but did not include the youtube, twitter or instagram links as I did previously. I did add an all music link, as I also saw this on Jamie Foxx's site and assumed it was ok as an additional reference point. I also read the guidelines mentioned in the commentMrenytfall (talk) 08:39, 18 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Mrenytfall: Thanks for your understanding. Looks good now! --Dirk Beetstra T C 09:31, 18 January 2016 (UTC)

- @67.70.121.218: I see that you are including a lot of information, and that you have not re-added the links that the bot found you adding. Do you mind going over your edits again, the style is sometimes too promotional - it should be more neutral. Moreover, it needs proper independent references (what did other people than those close to the subject say). Thanks. --Dirk Beetstra T C 03:38, 31 January 2016 (UTC)

- @86.171.96.43: I am sorry that you feel this way, but this is certainly not in line with the rest of that page, and actually not in line with our inclusion standards. Disambiguation pages are not to contain external links, but should be collections of internal links. --Dirk Beetstra T C 08:56, 10 February 2016 (UTC)

- @Alana1818: I am unsure why you ask here on XLinkBot - XLinkBot reverts only edits with questionable external links, and I don't see any warnings. If you ask about your article-for-creation submission - that you will have to ask to the editors who handled that. --Dirk Beetstra T C 08:58, 10 February 2016 (UTC)

- @184.145.18.50: and I re-removed them, plus a good handful of others. The criterion is not whether they are official sites belonging to the subject - we are not writing a linkfarm - our inclusion standards are way more strict than that. The links you added fail WP:ELOFFICIAL, many of the others fail inclusion standards of WP:ELNO (mainly, they are indirectly connected to the subject). Please read, as the bot suggests, our external links guideline for guidance. --Dirk Beetstra T C 09:09, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
Jayna Tida
Hi
I recently created an article on Jayna Tida. I don't know her personally and hence kept it brief but have come across her profile several times and felt she would be a suitable wikipedia subject. However there seems to be a box above the page now that says this article may not meet a biography criteria. This intrigued me to study other relatively new actresses page. Its strange why such a box would appear on her page given the body of work she has done and I've listed over 12 references of articles written about her to support everything written. I'm new to wikipedia and plan to create more articles on worthy subjects. However my research shows there are plenty of people on wikipedia just due to sensationalised news rather than work of merit. By all means remove my first page if you need to but a leading a Musical, a leading TV show and over 20 commercials, music videos and short films. I feel is noteworthy of a wikipedia page. Would like to hear your thoughts.Kiarasampson11 (talk) 10:55, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
Kiarasampson11 (talk) 10:55, 29 February 2016 (UTC)Kiarasampson11
- @Kiarasampson11: Thank you for your question. I guess you would have to have a look at the history of the article, and see when and by who the tag was added and ask that person to comment. Maybe you are right, and the tag can just go if there are enough independent references to show notability of the subject. Please note that comparing to other articles is not always a good idea - there are indeed still many articles out there that actually should be tagged and which are not. I'll have a glance as well, but it may not be my specialty. --Dirk Beetstra T C 11:13, 29 February 2016 (UTC)
- And please note that references need to be of a reasonable quality, not just 'local village newspaper'-like (though I think there are which within reason show that). --Dirk Beetstra T C 11:38, 29 February 2016 (UTC)

Hello, i updated the Bateman Pulsed Column page yesterday i didn't understand your message about the Links - they are referring to our LinkedIn and YouTube pages if that is not allowed i can remove them but i cant see the page with all of my new changes...
i appreciate your input and help Sivan
- @Sivan dror: The bot reverted your edits based on the external link to a youtube movie you included. However, I have now re-reverted because the whole prose of the text you put in the article is way, way too promotional. I have reverted back to the previous version which was not very informative, but does not contain the promotional language. --Dirk Beetstra T C 11:08, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
why did you delete ALL my edits?
I am learning Wikipedia editing today at a University editing event and now understand why you deleted my last link, but do not understand why all my edits were deleted including minor grammar changes. Any insights are appreciated, AccurateAnnie — Preceding unsigned comment added by AccurateAnnie (talk • contribs) 21:41, 4 March 2016 (UTC)
- @AccurateAnnie: hi Annie, thanks for your question. The bot cannot distinguish between the different types of link additions, so it can not take out only the offending external link. Also, as the link may be part of a larger edit, it may leave parts that are equally unwanted. The bot can also not distinguish between good and bad edits. As in the case of real spammers or real inappropriate links sometimes multiple edits are used, of which one is an external link, or new editors need more than one edit 'to get it right', reverting only the edit with the 'offending' external link' would leave other material as well (or in some cases a seriously broken page). The best choice generally is to revert back to the last version by another editor, as that is the one that is most likely to be 'fine'. We understand that that sometimes results in reverting (a lot of) good edits / material out of the page, but that is easily solved by undo-ing the bot edit, but removing 'offending' material before saving (and note, that if you just undo with re-inserting the 'offending' links, the bot will not re-revert you).
- Again, my apologies for the revert and please undo the bot-edit but leaving out the links that are likely not appropriate (or leave them if they are appropriate). --Dirk Beetstra T C 12:00, 7 March 2016 (UTC)
Is blank check blog site reversion appropriate?
Just because certain web sites have been hosting blogs do not necessary mean all web pages in the sits are blogs. The threshold for exception 11 for minimum standard only applies to people instead of being extended to corporate entities, which inappropriately excludes edits by design. Furthermore, not all 'blog sites' and blog hosts are created equal. Credibility should not be evaluated based on wild card matching by some dumb bots. --142.150.48.217 (talk) 23:18, 11 March 2016 (UTC)
- @142.150.48.217: By far the most data hosted on blog sites are .. blogs. Few pass that bar. I am not going to remove such rules based on generality, I'd like to see proper statistics for that - how many additions that get reverted by XLinkBot were really appropriate according to our inclusion standards for external links. --Dirk Beetstra T C 07:24, 3 April 2016 (UTC)

Regarding the linked YouTube video, I already explained, in the previous summary: there is no copyright violation, because it is on the official YouTube channel. If you have another reason for undoing my edits, please let me know what it is. 109.149.250.155 (talk) 15:30, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
- @109.149.250.155: It fails other parts of WP:EL, copyright violations, albeit still occurring regularly, are not the most important problem. Here, "Jian Ghomeshi's lawyer, Marie Henein, speaks to Peter Mansbridge" does clearly not suggest that Marie Henein is the subject of the interview, it is Jian Ghomeshi('s lawcase), and Peter Mansbridge is the interviewer. That means that such a link is just marginally of interest to Marie Henein, we are not linking to everything that is marginally linked to the subject of a page (as is the case with many, if not all, of your youtube additions). This is of interest to Jian Ghomeshi, and there the information disclosed in this interview is used in a reference. Maybe you should read up on your guidelines and policies. --Dirk Beetstra T C 06:07, 5 April 2016 (UTC)

- @Bdcook: Thank you for your question. You mean edits like this? Those are inappropriate, as explained by the editors who removed the links a couple of times, and as explained by the bot in it's warning on your talkpage. Our aim is to make sure everything is explained in the text and with references, not to point people elsewhere to see it, and especially not with 'click here'-type of messages. --Dirk Beetstra T C 08:48, 11 April 2016 (UTC)

- @180.190.115.233: XLinkBot only reverted because you were inappropriately linking to something on the revertlist. A follow up edit reverted way further back, and I think I agree with the remark of that, that most of the information that was added lately should not be there. --Dirk Beetstra T C 05:42, 13 April 2016 (UTC)
youtube links
I don't understand why the youtube video link was removed as many other wikipedia articles about other cities' subways contain links to subway videos. I thought it was usefull to have the link to subway video since wikipedia doesnt host such videos and there doesnt seem to be any CC ones either. Anyway. Havige Azmoth (talk) 23:36, 19 April 2016 (UTC)
Should links to youtube videos from other subway wikipedia articles be deleted? Havige Azmoth (talk) 23:37, 19 April 2016 (UTC)
- @Havige Azmoth: thank you for your question. Links to videos and so are very often discouraged as they do not really add anything that is not already in the article, or which is not already covered by other external links. In this case, the official homepage of the Athens metro does already link to their own YouTube channel with videos, making these superfluous. We are not here to replace external search engines, we are here to report encyclopedic information.
- It is therefore likely that also the other ones should be removed, but that is to be determined on a case-by-case basis. --Dirk Beetstra T C 03:21, 20 April 2016 (UTC)

Alteration with ill intent
To whom it may concern,
My name is Kousaku Yokota. I am the founder of A.S.A.I. organization, one of the Shotokan styles. I asked my administrator to post the outline of our organization. I asked him to keep it business like and to put only the facts. Last week I checked the page by chance and found someone (who I do not know for sure) changed the content making it sound bad for the organization. There were more than a few places so I had to scratch the whole page and put the new page. I only guess it was done by someone from the other organization who either considers our organization as their competitor or that person does not like me for some reasons. I have a few names I can assume but I am not sure how I can see the author of the edits so I cannot make it sure.
So, my question is how can we prevent someone from adding some ill intended remarks to make us look bad in the section covering our organization? It is very bothering and not fair for this or these persons to do this.

Reverting the wrong edit
You reverted an anon edit at Tokoroa and also left them a warning, in both cases saying the link they added to Facebook was the cause. The problem here is that the link they added was to http://www.waikatodhb.health.nz/about-us/rural-health/south-waikato-health-centre, which is appropriate for the content they were adding. The link you are objecting to was added on 2 April and was not removed by your edit. If your algorithm says "IF facebook link found THEN revert last edit" then it is manifestly inadequate. Please ask your creator to apologise to the anon you warned, or at least to provide a relevant warning, and consider getting an algorithm upgrade.-gadfium 01:06, 27 May 2016 (UTC)
- The problem here was purely technical. Between here and here there is this edit. In the first of the two versions, the page is broken and there was no facebook link, in the second the page was repaired and there was a facebook link. So the algorithm was OK, though the reason why the algorithm was triggered maybe flawed.
- Anyway, I have reverted the bot, and subsequently removed all the inappropriate inline linking. --Dirk Beetstra T C 13:10, 29 May 2016 (UTC)

- @Roniyash: Well, if Ashwani Chopra is so notable, then you first need to write an article for him, after which he could be added to the disambiguation page you mention. Not the other way around. If/when you write that article, please be aware of the policies and guidelines on en.wikipedia. Seen your conflict of interest, I would suggest to write the article in the draft namespace (as Draft:Ashwani Chopra, and submit it to others to decide whether it is ready for inclusion. --Dirk Beetstra T C 11:54, 20 June 2016 (UTC)

False positive
Any idea why we got this AIV report? I don't see YouTube-related stuff in the user's logs — MusikAnimal talk 21:38, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
- @MusikAnimal: - the editor is very much active in plain external link additions - diff - 80 reference article, the personal website on angelfire is not going to add anything to the content of the article, ELNO 1 diff - indirect (as are the other 6 links that are there, ELNO 13, diff - too specific, another external link on a 154 reference article, ELNO 1, 13, diff, earlier mentioned article, 80 references; this is not going to add anything - ELNO 1, diff - too specific, 54 references, not adding anything - ELNO 13 ,1, diff, too specific, 125 reference article, not adding anything, ELNO 1, 13, etc. etc. etc. (and I have yet to find an edit where I think that the external link was appropriate) - many of these edits plainly fail our inclusion standards, and should not be linked (see WP:NOT#REPOSITORY] for policy, WP:EL for the guidelines - this is all WP:ELNO-stuff). This user needs to be convinced that we are not writing a linkfarm here, and that these edits are not in line with our inclusion standards. You are right that this is not plain vandalism or spamming, but more of a case of WP:IDIDNTHEARTHAT and continuously failing to adhere to our editing standards. --Dirk Beetstra T C 10:51, 30 June 2016 (UTC)
- @Beetstra: I see. I guess my question is, why were they reported on 28 June? They hadn't edited in two days, and the last external link was added two weeks prior, and the last YouTube link was added an entire month prior. I was expecting to look at the contribs and see there were recent additions of YouTube links, as the bot implied. The last warning was also issued a month ago. In this case, I think you're right we're dealing with the same person with a pattern of external link disruption, but is the bot really able to infer that? IPs can be dynamic, so typically if there is no recent disruption, and especially if the last warning was a month ago, this would procedurally be declined at AIV. I would have the bot only report immediately after it has reverted an instance of related disruption. The fact that the user hadn't edited at all in two days made it seem like a clear false positive. I thought maybe it reported the wrong IP or something. This is a sincere complaint, but at the same time I would like to extend gratitude for your work. XLinkBot is awesome :) — MusikAnimal talk 18:01, 30 June 2016 (UTC)
- @MusikAnimal: OI, I see what you mean. It is due to the backlog that the bot had. The revert that is related to the report is 1 month ago. I'll see if I can program something in it that it does not warn/report/revert if the edit is more than xx time ago. Thanks for the heads up, I did not notice that. (the edits of the IP need a cleanup, they are plain linkfarming and many of the added external links by this IP are really inappropriate. I agree that the IP seems static, the edits are the same for a long time. --Dirk Beetstra T C 15:35, 1 July 2016 (UTC)

Request help to add a widely misused non-RS site
I tried following the instructions, and I'm afraid that even after 11 years as an active editor, I found them impossible to follow. Perhaps someone could help me.
I'd like to add EthniCelebs.com as a disallowed link. As noted at the Reliable Source Noticeboard here, EthniCelebs.com in its own Terms of Service says:
The information on Ethnicelebs is provided for entertainment purposes only. Although we may vet information to ensure its accuracy, we make no assurances that all information on our Site is accurate. You agree that you will not rely on our Service for any purposes which could result in a loss to you if our Service did not perform as expected and, in any event, you hereby release Ethnicelebs from any liability relating to our Service.
Despite this, Wikipedia has many links to what is, by EthicElebs own admission, a non-WP:RS site. There doesn't seem any reason to ever use what's clearly a tempting yet wildly non-RS site. Indeed, per WP:BLP, it's disallowed at any biography of a living person. I'd originally proposed this at MediaWiki talk:Spam-blacklist, where it was suggested that XLinkbot would be appropriate. I'm happy to do the work to list it, if someone could please help walk me through it. This ultimately would save a lot of experienced editors a lot of time. --Tenebrae (talk) 19:15, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
Links to youtube videos
I attempted to add links to my Gertrude Stein videos on this page Gertrude_Stein and they were reverted, and upon reflection I can understand why - however - there are many Gertrude Stein videos now on youtube that people have made that users of the wiki page would find useful. Is is possible to simply post a link launching the appropriate search i.e. "Gertrude Stein" on youtube? If not, at least a note about their existence and availability? [There are actually people who still don't just google everything] Organuz (talk) 23:17, 6 July 2016 (UTC)

This refers to the removal for the external link
The external link is as per the guidelines. The link is to a non commercial site that has high quality content related to the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sa4877 (talk • contribs) 09:08, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
- @Sa4877: however, those are not our inclusion standards. Our inclusion standard is that it should add something that is not and cannot be incorporated, and which is so noteworthy that it then needs to be linked (see Wikipedia:External Links for more info; see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not). As it is a blogspot, it does not seem to be a special authority that yields so much more information than what can be included in this list article, or in the individual articles about the mosques linked from this page. The page is a list of mosques in UAE, and that should be a complete list, linking to articles and properly referenced. In the external links is already a list linked as well (which in itself already seems superfluous), and this blogspot is yet another list. Missing images can be taken and uploaded, so this link is, per our inclusion standards, superfluous. --Dirk Beetstra T C 09:20, 12 July 2016 (UTC)

There is no real need to add these links. Please have a look through the policies and guidelines that were posted to your user talk page. --Dirk Beetstra T C 05:17, 17 July 2016 (UTC)
Picture insertion
I tried to insert a picture in Krishna Athal's page in the RHS small panel, but it didn't work. How to proceed? My friend recommanded me to insert a picture from that Dropbox link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6in64t8a0kqicra/1.png?dl=0
Could it be possible at your level to insert it for me in the RHS small panel, insertion an encryption "Krishna Athal" under the picture? Many thanks in advance.
Thank you in advance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ekasringavatar (talk • contribs) 09:20, 19 July 2016 (UTC)
- @Ekasringavatar: you need to upload the image on Wikipedia (taking into account the appropriate rules for images) using the Wikipedia:File Upload Wizard. You cannot insert an image by linking to an external source. I cannot do that for you, as you are the person responsible for and knowledgeable about this image. I hope this helps. --Dirk Beetstra T C 10:50, 19 July 2016 (UTC)
Hello again,
I sincerely apologise for every inconvenient since it's the first time that I am modifying a Wikipedia article as a new user.
I understand about the risk regarding insertion of external link. However, I don't agree that Krishna Athal's page has reverted to its previous version since I know that person and that there are some information which aren't correct:
- The controversy paragraph: I have checked the references to that paragraph and even have been looking for some other articles certifying about Krishna's controversies, and none of the pages exist anymore. By the same way, Krishna himself allowed me, as per my request, to remove the controversy paragraph, since those are fake information regarding him.
- Some external links to the references don't work properly, which made that I allowed myself to check all those links and to retrieve the correct ones to allow the readers discovering those links properly.
- There were even some references where there weren't any links to them, and I don't agree on that point since it's important to include links to allow readers discovering them.
- I have taken in consideration the picture insertion procedure and I will try my best according to your policy and instructions.
I shall then be grateful if you could revert the previous version to the one modified by me today to do the necessary modifications. By the same way, I am asking you a permission, when modifications are done, to copy and paste Krishna Athal's page since I will use my own references on it and which are those same external links.
Thanking you before hand.Ekasringavatar (talk) 12:31, 19 July 2016 (UTC)
- @Ekasringavatar: There are no versions to revert to - all your edits are full of in-text external links, and all of those should be edited out. Moreover, you use formatting that is not used on Wikipedia. I strongly suggest that you edit the information according to those guidelines. Thanks. --Dirk Beetstra T C 12:40, 19 July 2016 (UTC)

Facebook as an official secondary site is only allowed when the subject is specifically known for their facebook personality (which is rather unique). - 'Orphan' means that nothing links to the page - you'll have to find other pages on Wikipedia that link to this subject and make them links. Generally, pages should not be standing 'in isolation', 'notability' hardly ever comes on its own. --Dirk Beetstra T C 05:21, 16 August 2016 (UTC)
Please explain
See my talk page please. 69.58.42.90 (talk) 00:10, 16 August 2016 (UTC)
- This situation gives me a bit of a deja vu, but this is an infobox hack to get the video in. That means that the infobox itself is not made to have a link to the official video, which suggests that either was not discussed (and hence, there is no discussion to override WP:EL on this), or that it was discussed and not deemed necessary. I therefore do not believe that these links should be in the infobox, or in the external links sections for that matter. As such, per our external links guideline, I do not see why we should link the video, where there is likely already an official link of the band, who will then themselves already link to it (hence, the youtube link is just linkfarming, even if it is the second). This type of linking fails our inclusion standards. --Dirk Beetstra T C 05:39, 16 August 2016 (UTC)

Keith Clizark
Hi,
I need help with this article. I have looked at other Wikipedia Pages of others who have worked on the same projects as him and I don't understand the rejection. I am going to post it below along with the references. Could you please tell me specifically what I would need to change.
Thank you

Overenthusiastic?
An IP made two edits to an article: in the first they added several useful links. In second, they added a Youtube link. XLinkBot then reverted both edits. This seems over-enthusiastic - the assumption that anyone who adds a Youtube link must be an editor all of whose edits should be reverted. Surely the bot should revert those edits it finds problematic and leave alone other edits by the same editor? I expect this has been discussed before. I have come across other instances where an edit with a lot of good work has been reverted for the sake of one link, but in this case, as far as I can see, an innocent and constructive edit has been unnecessarily reverted because of the editor's next edit. PamD 16:14, 10 October 2016 (UTC)
- @PamD: This is a choice, explained in the User:XLinkBot/FAQ - basically, it was found that only reverting to the version before the 'offending' link was inserted resulted in more 'broken' pages and/or more rubbish being left behind (either because new editors need sometimes 2-3 edits to 'get it right', or where spammers do consecutive spammy edits. And whether an editor has to revert only the last revert, or all reverts and repair does not make any difference overall for the editor (or someone who wants to follow up). I hope this explains. --Dirk Beetstra T C 04:55, 16 October 2016 (UTC)

Art studio
XLinkBot,
I have created a page about my own art studio. I am a one-man operation and have many requests for information about the studio and my art. I have a [page] about my career (I'm retired) which has been very helpful for providing biographical info for the press. Images of the work produced are also necessary, so I want to create a Wikimedia page about the studio with images of the type of work I do. I followed instrictions and created a subpage to the main article. Perhaps that solves it.
If this doesn't solve the problem, perhaps you could advise me. I tried uploading my own copyright-free images to Wikimedia. I understand that this may seem like advertising, but I am getting older and worry that my life work will be lost or disappear without some organization and documentation. If Wikipedia is not the format, this is understandable, but I feel this is all neutral information. If the external links are the problem I can certainly delete them. Please let me know how I can proceed.
Thanks, Tim HolmesTimeholmes (talk) 20:10, 5 October 2016 (UTC)
- @Timeholmes: I would advice you to read our conflict of interest guideline, and m:Terms of use. Moreover, I do get the feeling that what you want to do with Mediawiki is not what Wikipedia is intended for. A read of 'What Wikipedia is NOT' would also be advisable. --Dirk Beetstra T C 05:02, 16 October 2016 (UTC)

bot reverted legitimate edits
Hi, the bot reverted my entire edits to the article Spacehive, just in order to remove a link that was not allowed. I have recreated my edits (without the said link), however I'm not sure it's good to have the bot running with excessive destructive power. Just my two cents.
Regards, 2.26.118.21 (talk) 21:28, 19 November 2016 (UTC)
- @2.26.118.21: Hi, thanks for your remark. It would have been fine in this case, if you would have reverted, though I think there is for most of the external links a better use, the article can be significantly expanded with the these, or they can be used as references already. I am going to tag it as linkfarming at the moment.
- It may seem violent, but despite YouTube getting better and better, there is still a lot of material there that is not for use on an encyclopedia, and that simply fails our inclusion standards. Some form of gatekeeping is still needed. --Dirk Beetstra T C 03:24, 20 November 2016 (UTC)

Help please - Band description completely wrong and all edits keep reverting back to wrong information
Hi, I am part of a band that has been active for around 7 years and the wikipedia page about our band contains some very misleading information and as such I created a user account here to update the page with correct information. The key issue for us is that the wikipedia page as well as being misleading is also being linked to pages that sell our music such as Google Music which means that people purchasing our music are also being misinformed about the band. To this end, the text that I have included in the updated page is taken from our website and is all based on original text that I have personally written for that page. I have referenced the official website for clarity but the page keeps being reverted back to the misleading article that was originally uploaded. Can you please help me correct this. I am the license holder of all the text and any images that are used on our website Cite error: There are <ref>
tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).www.ajammusic.com and I would like to make this available on wikipedia to ensure that the misleading article is no longer a point of reference for people that come across the wikipedia page that is meant to be about band Cite error: There are <ref>
tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Ajam_(band)

Ok a few weeks i added Dua Lipa on the Births list.
I added a picture that was also on her own page here the page that she was written about her. Now that picture on the 1995 page is GONE. WHY?. Can't be cause of copyrights cause the other one is still there I did it in the same way others had and it looked fine so why did it get removed.

Why is my source not good?
I recently got a message from XlinkBot saying that the source that I have placed in a draft for a page I'm writing, is not good.
"On specific or special releases, UTW would use alias, replacing their 'UTW' tag on releases. For example, releases of Gosick would be released under the alias 'Victorique', named after Gosick's female lead Victorique de Blois. The reason for UTW's 'Victorique' alias for their releases on Gosick is because the translations used in the releases were from Crunchyroll in 2011. Releases using Crunchyroll translations at that time wouldn't be considered as a full-fledged project. Another example of the use of alias comes to releases of the Madoka series. For UTW's release of Puella Magi Madoka Magica, the show was released under the 'Meguca' alias for the reference of a meme[1] that came from the /a/ board on 4chan."
In order for me to make my proof, case, and for people to look up for more information pertaining to the topic, I must include the citation as stated on top.— Preceding unsigned comment added by UniWiki (talk • contribs)
- @UniWiki: I have reverted the bot. Knowyourmeme is deemed rather unreliable here, not the best source. If there are no better sources, one might want to assess whether it should be mentioned. I disagree that 'Know Your Meme' is 'unreliable' & believe that wikipedia should re-think that assessment. The confirmed memes on the site have gone through a more vigorous vetting process than much of the information on Wikipedia & I have found them to be generally on the mark with their history of a meme. Note: External link to Fundación para la Cultura Nacional is promoting their foundation and is not directly related to the artist. I have deleted the external link for the second time. If they are a refrence to the page, should sign as Reference not as external link. DanilusantosDanilusantos (talk) 15:18, 28 January 2017 (UTC)
Bot not complying with WP:EL for social media profiles
Hi, this bot just reverted the addition of the social media profiles of a politician under the name of Hashem Bathaie Golpayenagi. Per WP:EL these types of external links are fine as long as they are the profile of the subject--which they are in this case. Can you please review the bot's rules? Horseduckcover (talk) 21:58, 29 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Horseduckcover:, no, can you please again review WP:EL and WP:NOT#REPOSITORY. --Dirk Beetstra T C 03:06, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
St.Lawrence, Newfoundland entry
I just spent about 2 hours fixing this information with some historical accuracy and sources. Why was it deleted? I was trying to add an external link that illustrated a picture of Newman's store and suddenly my whole article disappeared altogether. If you want literate people to contribute to your website you should make it USER Friendly! pspearns@yahoo.com — Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.162.189.248 (talk) 13:34, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
- @142.162.189.248: The bot's edit is already reverted, as was suggested to you on your talkpage as well. I understand your concerns about being user friendly, but we also have to make sure that our information is presented in a proper way, and is encyclopedic. May apologies for the inconvenience. --Dirk Beetstra T C 03:15, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
Army Men III External Links
Could you explain to me what specifically was wrong with the link below from the Army Men III article? [4]
I don't see how it violates Wikipedia's policy. It was an interview video of the game from it's article I added in. --Vanguard2042 (talk) 11:04, 8 February 2017 (UTC)
The bot reverts URL updates
Hi. I have made two edits that the bot has reverted. In both cases, the link had existed on Wikipedia for years and now needed to be updated to reflect the new URL of the page after use of the old domain name had been discontinued. It seems counterproductive that the bot would revert a link back to the obsolete URL. I also don't buy the argument that links to blogs would be unwanted: surely, if the content in itself has been considered worthwhile for inclusion, the fact that the page has been moved to a blog platform should not matter. 91.145.87.234 (talk) 11:53, 11 February 2017 (UTC)
Column order for common sites on reversion reasons page
Hey! Would it be better to move the "rule" column to be the last (so "domain" and "description" are first) in User:XLinkBot/Reversion reasons. Since this page is linked to from user messages, it seems a bit daunting to have regex (who knows regex, right?) as the first column. Cheers. — HELLKNOWZ ▎TALK 14:56, 11 February 2017 (UTC)
Jumia Wikipedia Page
Hello,
Let me first introduce myself, I'm Manal Youssef - PR & Communication Manager at Jumia Egypt.
I checked the comments and tried to add more references to increase the credibility of the information submitted on the page.
Appreciate sending your feedback to make any further enhancements if needed.
Thanks in advance. Manal 156.222.100.211 (talk) 15:50, 12 February 2017 (UTC)
1 question
Hi!
I understand your changes. Thank you!
I have 1 question. When will the Zsombor Deak page be visible on the internet for searchers? When I put the name in Google, there is no result for it.
Thanks in advance! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Borihu (talk • contribs) 08:36, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Borihu: Please reconsider your edit - your references may have merit, the inline links (like the one to the wordpress) do not. Also please read the directions in the messagebox that appears at the moment at the top of the page carefully .. you need proper, independent sources for this biography. As long as these are not resolved, the page will not appear on Google. --Dirk Beetstra T C 09:05, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
Reverted to different page
Um, WTF? Yes, it's a new user. Yes, they added a YouTube link. But the reversion is completely out of the blue and unrelated to this new page. — Gorthian (talk) 22:46, 3 March 2017 (UTC)
- Hmmm, that is buggy ... it reverted to a wrong page, probably encoding error. --Dirk Beetstra T C 03:42, 4 March 2017 (UTC)
Manuel Herrera López - Reply
Hi there from Portugal,
apologies for the insertion of the unreliable links. In all fairness, one of those (LASEGUNDAB.com) had already been sitting there for ages and no one removed anything. I have now duly addressed the situation, hopefully.
Sorry for any inconvenience, attentively --85.242.133.151 (talk) 17:32, 8 March 2017 (UTC)
- No problem, thanks for the heads up. --Dirk Beetstra T C 04:56, 17 March 2017 (UTC)

Re: April 2017
I'm confused: After reading through the rules and regulations/policies due to my edit being reverted (see edit with YouTube Link to Love Somebody), the only mistake that I could see in my edit was that although the link was legit (comes from the official Maroon 5 YouTube Vevo Account), it may be viewed as sexual (?). However, in the False Alarm Page, it's allowed to have a YouTube Link (which ALSO comes from The Weeknd's own official YouTube Vevo Account), despite it being viewed as graphic (?). So where is the line drawn between acceptable and prohibited links? -124.106.206.56 (talk) 12:10, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
- @124.106.206.56: YouTube links are generally discouraged. That it is somewhere else is not a reason to include it, it must stand on its own merit.
- That being said, I think that this removal that you performed says it all - the infobox does not have a dedicated field for the music video, so people hack it in there using the 'misc' field. If we would encourage articles on 'songs' to have a link to the official video on youtube/vevo/whatever-video-server, then the WikiProject would have gotten that consensus to override the guidelines/policies, and have the infobox that they maintain having rewritten to have a dedicated field for the official music video. --Dirk Beetstra T C 12:40, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
- @Dirk Beetstra: So you're actually in favor of my removal in this link? Does that mean that ALL articles that have YouTube Links for songs SHOULD be removed? So unless I'm missing something and we're going by THAT logic, then A LOT of removing (cleaning) should be done to those articles, don't you think? -124.106.206.56 (talk) 15:50, 3 April 2017 (UTC)
- @124.106.206.56: basically, yes, though there are larger mishaps with youtube video's than this (on a song link to every youtube available version for every artist that has ever performed the song, e.g.). I am, related to that, pruning excessive social networking (see this). It does get resistance by vocal users, but the general consensus is that they need to go. --Dirk Beetstra T C 03:29, 4 April 2017 (UTC)
- @Dirk Beetstra: Ok. So you don't mind me helping out in removing YouTube Links for all articles about songs moving forward? And on an unrelated note, nobody got back to me in the Sara Del Rey Talk Page last February 25, 2017 Re: Page Name (and I apologize in advance for my last comment there), but could you please take a look at that? It feels like that talk page has been SORELY abandoned. I would greatly appreciate it. -124.106.206.56 (talk) 13:35, 4 April 2017 (UTC)

Mike Compton (musician)
Hello-I just spent 3 hours updating a page for Mike Compton musician, and none of the changes are showing up. They show up in the edit history, but not on the page. How can be rectified? Thank you. Heidi Herzog — Preceding unsigned comment added by Red Dress Productions (talk • contribs) 22:10, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
- @Red Dress Productions: The bot removed this, I presume there are pieces there that you seem to be missing. The bot reverted you on your addition of social media, which I have re-removed afterwards - those links are inappropriate. Please check if there is still information missing. Please note that your username seems to violate our username policy. --Dirk Beetstra T C 03:37, 6 April 2017 (UTC)
Fran Palermo
Hello,
I corrected a link here, that was reverted by this bot. It was pointing to the wrong Facebook page since the initial version the article. It seems that band's official site is their social media page, so I believe this was a false positive. 109.61.43.46 (talk) 22:45, 6 April 2017 (UTC)
- @109.61.43.46: Indeed a false positive, I've reverted the bot. --Dirk Beetstra T C 05:26, 7 April 2017 (UTC)

The bot and the link
I was attempting to add a source, obviously I did it wrong, I'm doing it on mobile, how do I cite something correctly? Did you want APA? S1Blademaster (talk) 07:15, 20 April 2017 (UTC)
- @S1Blademaster:, you are talking about this edit. The biggest issue there is that you use Wikia as a reference, and wikis (yes, even Wikipedia itself) are generally not a reliable source. There must be better sources for that info
- The style of referencing is using footnotes, references 1 and 2 are defined inline with the text, you are now adding 'manually' a third one, not 'linked' to the text where the reference is for. Have a look at WP:CITEFOOT, which is explaining how to link the reference to the text. I hope this explains. --Dirk Beetstra T C 07:43, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

I have reverted your revert where I only changed a URL from blogspot.de to blogspot.com (and from http to https). 50.53.1.33 (talk) 08:23, 20 April 2017 (UTC)

trying to improve article: much careful work deleted
I have made valid corrections to the article on the Cloisters Apocalypse. The link I provided was to a free video series on precise topic that acknowledges all visual and musical materials, in public domain for non-profit educational use. One correction is simple English (source of artwork is "provenance" not "providence." Had friend correct any mistakes in my English. Not bothering her again for this!
I am trying to make valid contribution to this free intellectual resource. Now a bot has undone my work: will not try to help again if this is the treatment I may expect.
