Unblock

Request reason:

I was discussing that the inclusion of a link to my personal website (which is under construction currently) was valid. it is the only official site of my copyright protected character Dawn © & ™ and thus, should be included in the page of the same title. It does contain my other works as well.I thought that my comments fell under -- a legal problem, such as defamation or copyright infringement, is not a threat and will be acted on quickly.-- I was wrong.

I did NOT make a legal threat. I did not KNOW that my comment ""I am just going to have my LAWYER contact the correct representative at WIkipedia." would be perceived as a legal threat. I really was trying to back out of the conversation and I would have said "I am just going to have my PERSONAL ASSISTANT or MY ACCOUNTANT or MY MOTHER contact the correct representative at Wikipedia." if she had the correct contacts for one. Please consider that wikipedia is a VAST world and I am only one person trying to make my way through the correct channels as a newbie to editing. Joseph Michael Linsner (talk) 12:45, 13 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I will not argue with your intention, but a threat to involve a lawyer (capitalized, so cannot be an error) can only be seen as a clear legal threat. To be unblocked you would need to make a clear statement on this page that you have no intention of taking any form of legal action against Wikipedia or any of its editors or employees with respect to any content of the encyclopedia. Although it is not directly relevant in the present situation, I would also stipulate that the removal of the link to your personal site was, in accordance with Wikipedia policy, correct. And it is Wikipedia policy we are, within the law, all required to follow. --Anthony Bradbury"talk" 20:12, 13 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

This blocked user is asking that their block be reviewed on the Unblock Ticket Request System:

Request reason:

Again, I apologize. I thought that my comments fell under " a legal problem, such as defamation or copyright infringement, is not a threat and will be acted on quickly." My comment "I am just going to have my LAWYER contact the correct representative at WIkipedia." was intended as a polite statement to intend that I would have him inquire about it, or else just get the proper contacts from him and take care of things myself. This is a misunderstanding and should be viewed as a "perceived legal threat" for which I was blocked. I assure you, I had none, and have absolutely no intention of taking any legal action against Wikipedia (or any of it's editors or employees) Thank you, Joseph Michael Linsner Joseph Michael Linsner (talk) 9:12 am, Today (UTC+0)

Accept reason:

Thank you for clarifying your position and repealing this perceived legal threat -- samtar talk or stalk 09:44, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

COI

[edit]

You have a WP:COI in respect of Joseph Michael Linsner (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views). Please stop editing the article directly, and instead propose changes on the Talk page. Guy (Help!) 12:54, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Guy OK. I edited the article to include the following links:

User Talk:Joseph Michael Linsner

Point of information: it's not "your own" page. As I think has been pointed out before, you need to familiarise yourself with what we consider a reliable, independent source. Guy (Help!) 14:26, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
== Deletion discussion ==

Anything you want to say about the proposed deletion should go on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Joseph Michael Linsner itself and not on its talk page - I've copied across your recent comment. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 13:58, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and I should add that your username is "Joseph Michael Linsner" (with spaces), and if you sign your comments with User talk:Joseph_Michael_Linsner (without spaces) it won't work. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 14:01, 16 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Boing! said Zebedee (talk) I've already added a similar comment to that page just now. Thanks, for pointing out about the spaces in my name. User:Joseph Michael Linsner

Guy ::Point of information: to you: I simply stated on the deletion discussion page that it is MY own page RE: Your mention of a WP:COI for me editing the page directly. No other reason. I do realize the page itself belongs to Wikipedia as a whole. I am trying to familiarise myself with all of Wikipedia and it's rules as well as reliable, independent source.
