Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Waterford United F.C. has been reverted.
Your edit here to Waterford United F.C. was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://m.facebook.com/waterfordunitedofficial/) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Information icon Hello, I'm GiantSnowman. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Jamie O'Brien (footballer), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Club infobox dates

[edit]

Hi, when updating club infobox stats you should update the |club-update= or |pcupdate= parameter by adding five tildes (~~~~~), which generates the specific time the update was made. Thanks, Mattythewhite (talk) 21:06, 4 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Control copyright icon Hello BluesFan1930, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to David Mulcahy footballer have been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 23:48, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Dean O'Halloran, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Stamford Bridge. OWN/etc

[edit]

Hi. As per my response to your comment on my own talkpage and the WP:OWN policies, hopefully it is clear that project norms do not assign 'ownership' of articles or content. If it is unclear (as to ownership guidelines), or if you have follow-on questions, just let me know. Also, as per my own contributions to the relevant AfD discussion, and the article, hopefully it is clear that any edits I have applied have been in the attempt to address issues that might otherwise have contributed to article deletion. If it is unclear (that I have been attempting to ensure that article and content is retained), then also let me know. In general, please do not 'bite' other editors. And certainly do not 'bite the hand' that is attempting to help. Thanks. Guliolopez (talk) 10:58, 9 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. As noted above, it is somewhat self-destructive (and at the very least un-constructive) to remove requests for citation, revert article improvements, and make "do not edit" style declarations (the latter contrary to WP:CIVIL and WP:OWN). In a more collegiate spirit, I would suggest that it might be more constructive to perhaps add references for the statements that you want to include/retain(?) If you need any help with that, please let me know. Guliolopez (talk) 15:00, 9 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hiya. Me again. While I haven't heard back from you on any of the above, I wanted to follow-up on a series of recent edits on the Mark O'Sullivan article.
On the "professional" adjective, I thought it was worth pointing-out that there are >1000 articles on the project which don't feel the need to use this adjective/qualifier. However, if you feel that it is absolutely required in this case, then you will please need to provide a verifiable reference on it. Stating "every player is on a professional full time contract - this is known publicly" doesn't meet the requirements of WP:VER. In fact, you may find it interesting to review the WP:BUTITSTRUE norms.
Separately on "no need for FC - looks amateur", you might want to take a quick look at the guidelines around avoiding giving the reader "surprises" when they click on links. While context in some cases might make it clear that "Wexford" refers to a specific football club (rather than many other potential meanings), it may be need clarity in other cases.
Anyway, it's worthwhile taking a look through the relevant etiquette and editing guidelines. If anything is unclear, just give us a shout. Guliolopez (talk) 21:31, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hiya. It seems that perhaps you don't check your talkpage very often, but you may perhaps want to take a look at the WP:IDHT guidelines. Guliolopez (talk) 23:04, 11 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Kenny Browne, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for Deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discusion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Hello, BluesFan1930. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, David Mulcahy footballer, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you don't want David Mulcahy footballer to be deleted, please add a reference to the article.

If you don't understand this message, you can leave a note on my talk page.

Thanks,

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I would like to be unblocked as I think I may have made some mistakes that can be resolved. I would like an adminstrator to get in contact and hear me out!

Decline reason:

You are not eligible for a WP:CLEANSTART while under sanctions. This account was blocked when you set up BluesFanWiki (talk · contribs). You were clearly aware of our policies around WP:SOCK and WP:BLOCK, having been caught before using other accounts inappropriately. Additionally, your other account attempted to recreate Dean O'Halloran, an article you know was previously deleted (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dean O'Halloran) after the community determined the subject was inappropriate for Wikipedia. I can find no evidence you addressed the issues at all. As such, I'm endorsing the block. Yamla (talk) 00:03, 17 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I'm sorry for making multiple accounts. It's been a few months since I've been editing. So I decided for a fresh start on Wikipedia using a new account. I decided to create a page which I have before called Dean O Halloran, however I went with the guidelines that I was penalised for before which were 1. Person not being "notable" 2. No references. The thing about Dean O'Halloran is e is "notable" enough to have a page as he has played for a big English side in Fulham and he has played for the Republic of Ireland. So I was going with the guidelines that Wikipedia provided me with over the previous months. That's why my blocking and the deletion of this page was very harsh. I had fixed the issues with the page that their was before. I was looking for a fresh start with wiki and it has been ruined straight away which would really turn you away from the site, turn away like you've done before. So now I've explained this on my own page cam an adminstrator get in contact please so we can solve this!? Thanks in advance. BluesFan1930 (talk) 21:51, 15 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
