Welcome to Wikipedia

[edit]

Hey there, welcome to Wikipedia! Hope you decide to stay around. -- POWERSLAVE 01:37, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry bout that, I noticed I put my last response on your user page instead of on your talk page. Anyway, about the green letters, check out how my signature looks when editing a page. The <font color="green">username</font> part is how I did it. -- POWERSLAVE 12:02, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Heheh yeah, it probably is frowned upon now, but oh well. I learned HTML back when it was ok to do just about anything, but now there's all these do's and don'ts, so I ignore them. -- POWERSLAVE 00:22, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Smashbrosboy, we share a common interest in Super Smash Bros. I hope we can work together to assure each Brawl update is put up when and where it should be. --Oxico (talk) 11:30, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, interesting site. Smashwiki could use some merging and clean-up, but overall a great idea. Well, I tend to be (a little) humble, and i know for a fact there are people that know more about SSB than I. I like email better than discussing here. Mine is mmzero215@yahoo.com. Your's? --Oxico (talk) 19:39, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see, nothing personal. I can see what you mean, most people here either don't know about Brawl or don't even know about SSB in general (sad, I know). I can't wait for tommorow's update. --Oxico (talk) 02:17, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

On the topic of SSB, I use mainly Jigglypuff (gonna be Meta Knight soon), secondly Samus, and thirdly Mewtwo. Jigglypuff is still my favorite and best character. --Oxico (talk) 03:44, 19 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, it is that underestimating of Jigglypuff that earns me victories. I am a survival expert (gotta be) and I nail Rest almost everytime i try. I practice hourly against Fox. He is the top of tier list, so really, anyone can win with him. I saw dark link in his matches, and i saw today's update. And i have never heard of Super Smash Flash. I'll look it up. --Oxico (talk) 22:31, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Gracias, but i have already given up trying that. Now I am just bored in trying to find ways to make things easier. Eh, the site's fine as it is. if i find a chance to fix something, i'll get on it. --Oxico (talk) 00:59, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I am here, but I am mostly doing work in the WWE sections. --Oxico (talk) 16:15, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

About G&W

[edit]

Sorry it took so long to respond, my computer has been in repairs for a few days. Anyway, you asked why I think Game&Watch is in Brawl. If you go here you will see the smash icon. Change the 00 in the URL to other numbers and you'll see other icons. All of the Melee icons are listed and then the new Brawl ones are at the end.

These things are only added as they are needed, so there are a few missing ones that will give you a "File Not Found" error, and one of them is this one, located right between Fire Emblem and Ice Climbers. The only other Melee icon that isn't there yet is Game&Watch, so that's undoubtedly where it will go.

Sorry for the overly long explanation, but I can be wordy. -- POWERSLAVE 13:01, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

haha, thanks for the barnstar. I owe you one. -- POWERSLAVE 01:01, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Protection policy

[edit]

No problem, man. If you're interested, read WP:PROT for more information on Wikipedia's protection policy. The section I was referring to specifically is here:

Semi-protection should not be used:

  • As a preemptive measure against vandalism before any vandalism has occurred.
  • In a content dispute between registered users and anonymous users, with the intention to lock out the anonymous users.
  • With the sole purpose of prohibiting editing by anonymous users. Protection should be used only to prevent continuing disruption.

Adoption offer

[edit]

If you'd like, I'll adopt you? --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 02:30, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm so excited you decided to take my offer. Let me just briefly introduce myself. I'm 17 years old and live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I've been with Wikipedia for about a year. Mostly what I do is work on wrestling articles or other articles; but mostly wrestling. I see that you like SuperSmash brothers, and to answer your question YES, I do like playing the video games. If its alright with you I'd like to know a little about yourself. Also tell me all you want to learn at my talk page and I will do the best I can. P.S. Yes I am both right-handed and ambidextrous. How you ask? Here's a little info: I play the guitar, how a left-handed person would, See: Paul McCartney. I play Baseball and I am a switch hitter, and often times I throw the ball with my left hand. And last but not least, I draw and color with my left-hand, and I gotta say that my coloring is Way better than my right-hand. If you'd like to know more about me, please don't be shy to ask. --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 22:53, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually I've never seen an Indian movie. But I've heard they're pretty good. Its good to hear that you edit what you like, same as me when it comes to wrestling articles. What would you like to learn? --  ThinkBlue  (Hit BLUE) 00:55, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Creating subpages

[edit]

It's tough to explain. Let's say you wanted to make a subpage called Ooba Dooba. To do this, create a new "article" called User:Smashbrosboy/Ooba_Dooba, or in other words, go here and start entering whatever you want. You can call it whatever you want, as long as it starts with User:Smashbrosboy/

If I'm not making any sense, check this out.

Oh, and you can sign anywhere under that section :) -- POWERSLAVE 23:28, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anyhoo, what's the SSB task force all about? Sounds interesting.    Powerslave  01:13, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sheesh, when I first read that title, I thought there was another delay. Don't scare me like that :o Anyhoo, slide me a link to that when you can, I want to see it. I actually wouldn't mind if it no more characters were revealed for a while. I want some things to stay a secret. :) Powerslave (talk - cont.) 19:09, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Heyoooooo

[edit]

Long time no speak, cap'n. A week maybe? Thanks for the praise, I appreciate it. That Brawl subpage is a result of too much free time on my hands. If you look at its edit history, you will see I edit that thing obsessively. Kind of like "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." Creepy... Anyway, what's up? Powerslave (talk|cont.) 07:35, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Happy new year! I'd be glad to help out with the Task Force. I'm glad it was approved. For my first action, I added this. So now people just have to paste this:

{{Wikipedia:WikiProject Nintendo/WikiForce SmashBros/Userbox}}

instead of a huge block of code. Nifty, huh?

Oh, and you were asking about how I found your hidden subpage. Well, my strategy is usually to look at the source of the userpage, then do control+F to find links to their subpages until I stumble upon the hidden one. By the way, I have a secret subpage that no one has found yet. Why don't you be the first? It's tricky :) Powerslave (talk|cont.) 06:31, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

can i add this to your page?

[edit]

I didn't write this. DFDL did [1]. It has the talk page of SBTF though :). And check the talk page of SBTF. Trevor "Tinkleheimer" Haworth 21:04, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You might be surprised, but I do know how much vandalism there has been. For removing vandalism and stuff, I recommend you try out Twinkle, its a very usable tool, which helps out removing vandalism and stuff. Also, try not get into Edit wars, because if you do, you might get blocked. But, if you have anymore problems with a certain individual, it would be best to tell an Administrator and they will talk to them or even block them. Re: I need help

[edit]

Sure, I'd love to! There are some problems though. That taskforce is relatively inactive at the moment, so I don’t really think a lot of maintenance work is required. (The original smash bros. article may need work, though). And another thing, I also have finals this week and I am in the middle of writing a Romeo and Juliet final essay as well as creating a game board based on World War I. I’m a little busy as well. I think the task force can go for a while without too much work (at least until Brawl goes on to FAC again, or if the EU release causes severe instability on the article.) I’ll make sure it goes on FAC again. :) Cheers! --haha169 (talk) 03:47, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! Last night, I decided to add a Smash circle image to the taskforce and its userbox. (Uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, free-use image). I also did some general fixes, but most of it was done by a visitor. I think the new format looks great. You should check it out! --haha169 (talk) 02:51, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. One of these days, I'm going to do some major fixing to that image. But as it stands, that image is satisfactory. :) I wonder when we can finally achieve featured topic...--haha169 (talk) 02:55, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm afraid the original Smash Ball would last less than an hour on Wikimedia Commons, and less than a day on English Wikipedia. It is copyrighted, and I had to do a rough copy of the image to avoid copyright issues and to maintain the license, "Simply Geometric Shapes". However, I'm sure a couple of tweaking would do some good. --haha169 (talk) 03:00, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank this image: Image:Triforce.svg and its copyright status discussion [2] for me being allowed to use this smash circle. Otherwise, I would have never been able to determine a perfect copyright license and statements. That discussion also protects this image from any deletion requests. --haha169 (talk) 03:04, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the userbox! I'll add it immediately. :) --haha169 (talk) 05:36, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

HEYHEYHEY

[edit]

Sorry I haven't been more active with the task force... Right around that time, some stuff came up and I always forgot to come back. Oops and oh well, right? Hehe, I see the Melee article has become featured. That's magnificent. I don't have much news except, Disturbed's new album is great. Oh, and I love how you can just link to whatever you're talking about on Wikipedia, you know? Powerslave (talk|cont.) 04:14, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know what you mean... It's been forever since I've seen your secret page or even a fake one. I put a {{fact}} template on your page to mess with your head, though. Hehe. I'll get rid of it. Powerslave (talk|cont.) 16:53, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

*shrugs* wasn't me. http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=User%3ASmashbrosboy&diff=216049383&oldid=197872222 there's the only thing I did. Might want to check the history log to see when the offending change was made. Powerslave (talk|cont.) 03:55, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There's no history log on your "secret page". Thanks for telling me! I think you should check the deletion log and find the admin who deleted it. Ask him why. --haha169 (talk) 05:54, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

I have to admit, I have been awfully inactive in the task force, and actually in all wikiprojects I am part of. I will take a look to see if there is anything I can help with :) <3 Tinkleheimer TALK!! 23:30, 1 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Smashbros. Taskfroce Barnstar

[edit]

Just wanted you to know, I finally got around to making a custom barnstar for our taskforce. It can be seen here. --haha169 (talk) 17:15, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! But...erm...could you translate that for me? "OMG WOW AWESOME THIS ROXORZ EVERYONEZ SOXORZ!!!" :) --haha169 (talk) 00:32, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ah...I see. And also, would you mind adding a link to your talk page in your signature? It would be really convenient. Thanks! (I think Brawl is finally going to pass FAC this time...hopefully... --haha169 (talk) 21:06, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. Its green and purple. Very interesting. --haha169 (talk) 04:25, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Funniest Edit Ever

[edit]

Thought I'd give you a laugh. Giggy's userpage has a link to the funniest edit ever, which can be seen here: Funniest Edit Ever. I personally found it hilarious, but didn't get it until a few minutes later. Check the image's caption, and who made the edit. :) Have a nice day!--haha169 (talk) 22:26, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the Brawl article

[edit]

I think it's sooo close, but I wouldn't suggest nominating it for FA just yet. After skimming over the first couple paragraphs, I found two small things that needed changing (you can see my edits in the history), and I suspect there might be more things like that. The wording is really well-done, but the article might need to be finetuned one last time.

And eeek, I apologize again for doing little to contribute to the task force :X

Powerslave (talk|cont.) 04:27, 15 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just wanted to inform everyone that Brawl has passed its FAC! The entire series is now at WP:FTC, so if you want to give your support...(or oppose)... --haha169 (talk) 16:29, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
So are you interested in leaving a comment at the series' FTC? --haha169 (talk) 23:58, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
P lol. So what are you planning on doing now? I've got my next course of action all planned out. :) Its un-related to smash bros., though.--haha169 (talk) 20:59, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't either, as per the big template on the talk of my userpage/talkpage, and subpages. I'm probably not the right person to be asking that. :P --haha169 (talk) 03:20, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

However, we have undergone a massive upheaval with Wikiproject Nintendo; so our Smash Bros taskforce is now: Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Super Smash Bros., a taskforce of the VG project. --haha169 (talk) 03:39, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nintendo task force membership

[edit]

If you are not already aware, the Super Smash Bros. task force (formerly WikiForce Super Smash Bros.) has very recently been merged into the Nintendo task force (formerly WikiProject Nintendo). As a result, the memberlist of the old task force has been merged into the Nintendo task force's memberlist. In order to gauge who is still active and willing to participate actively in the Nintendo task force, I have placed all those members under the inactive participants list, which is located below the active participants list at WP:NIN.

If you wish to continue participation as a member of the Nintendo task force, then go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Nintendo/left panel, remove your entry from the inactive list, and place your entry at the bottom of the active list. If you don't wish to be a member of the Nintendo task force, then simply remove your name from the list. One month from now, on May 16, 2009, all remaining entries on the inactive list will be removed. Thank you, MuZemike 14:55, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A note regarding the WPVG Newsletter

[edit]

Due to an apparent lack of interest, the WPVG Newsletter will be switching from a monthly publication schedule to a quarterly one. The next issue be delivered on July 1, 2009, and will pertain to the second quarter of the calendar year. If you have any comments regarding this, or suggestions to improve the newsletter, please post at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games/Newsletter.
