Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Battle of Pontvallain, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Patrimony and David II (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

A tag has been placed on your user page, User talk:Jogi.jewels, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service. Premature archiving

[1] Please don't. This is an active discussion. Coretheapple (talk) 14:50, 18 January 2018 (UTC)

Explained here; thank you for making a more reasonable point than that in the section above, which does not, of course, endear itself to receiving anything approaching a civil reply. Or even a reply at all. Cheers, >SerialNumber54129...speculates 15:21, 18 January 2018 (UTC)
Although validation is not a requirement, neither is it unwelcome. Thanks, all. >SerialNumber54129...speculates 11:38, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
It's not validation. The subject of this note was your archiving, not the merits of your position. Coretheapple (talk) 18:23, 19 January 2018 (UTC)
Just so; it was estblished that it was not in fact an active discussion. That suffices, and I thank you for your note. >SerialNumber54129...speculates 18:26, 19 January 2018 (UTC)

No worries; the topic itself may be valid, but it's hard to tell since the bulk of the citations are to the company itself, their forum, their manuals, etc. Bluntly, we don't care what a company says about itself, we care what outside experts have to say about it. Detailed explanations of a product line, with no indication these details are taking the media by storm, are usually big red flags that a page is an advert rather than a neutral description. MatthewVanitas (talk) 21:47, 8 February 2018 (UTC)

External links, not See also

Back in Nov & Dec you cleaned up some additions by User:Genealogyinterest, moving their added ipms to a See Also section. While you were correct that it did not belong in the body, a See Also section is for other relevant Wikipedia pages, not links off-site. If you find yourself making similar corrections in the future please use 'External links' or 'Further reading' headings for links to off-site material. Agricolae (talk) 16:37, 14 March 2018 (UTC)

John Fresshe bibliography

Hi, I noticed you removed the author links I added to the bibliography on John Fresshe with the comment "what is the point, when they're mostly red???" Obviously, it's a matter of taste and if you care that much, then do remove them. But the point is that all of those red links are to academics who would pass our notability test and including them aids article creation as outlined at WP:RED. (There was a good article written about this in the Wikipedia Post a few years ago but I can't find it now.) Indeed, I had planned to revisit the page and use those red-links to do just, as I am about to do with Paul Brand (historian). Anyway, I just thought I'd answer your question. Cheers, —Noswall59 (talk) 14:00, 17 June 2018 (UTC).

Don't wish to be a stick in a mud, but Jonathan Sumption's book appears to be missing from the "Bibliography" section, so the citations give harv errors. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 23:27, 6 July 2018 (UTC)

Speedy quick!

That was probably the fastest response to a maintenance tag I've ever seen on Wikipedia! I felt bad sticking such an ugly tag on a GA, but I feel vindicated considering the issue was resolved in under ten minutes. Lord Bolingbroke (talk) 09:50, 12 July 2018 (UTC)

@Lord Bolingbroke: No problem, and thanks for noticing...if you look at the GA, it was extremely thorough—yet this was the perfect example of how something can always slip through the net. So I think, frankly, even if it's a FA, a tag still draws necessary attention. Better to look ugly for ten minutes than unintelligible for days  :) —SerialNumber54129 paranoia /cheap sh*t room 09:56, 12 July 2018 (UTC)

Nuns

Thank you for the post on TonyBallioni's talk page. Would you be aware of any French or Anglo-Norman convents/nuns? - Conservatrix (talk)

Thank you for this Conservatrix. Well, we have categories on Category:French Roman Catholic abbesses and Category:French Roman Catholic religious sisters and nuns which should show you what needs expanding, and might again lead to redlinks. Also, catagories on fr.wp might be of use; (fr:Catégorie:Abbesse, for instance is pretty well populated. Some of them are well known, of course, and naturally have articles (as with much of WP the low-hanging fruit has already been picked), but I see a few do not—e.g., Alice of Savoy (fr:Alice de Savoie) and Barbara von Trüllerey of Schänis Abbey. I hope that helps, but this is not particularly my speciality I'm afraid so you probably know more of what to look for than I. Take care! —SerialNumber54129...speculates 16:03, 16 March 2018 (UTC)

Hey

Your stupid dog is so annoying and blocking some of the text in this gigantic talk page. Please consider removing it. Cheers ~ Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 10:45, 17 July 2018 (UTC)

While I don't agree with the wording, they got a point. Maybe you could set up archiving for this talk page and move the dog to another place where it's less in the way? Regards SoWhy 10:52, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
@Serial Number 54129 and SoWhy: Sorry, I shouldn't be so uncivil. This account is my original account btw. I am not angry with you declining speedy deletion, one of them is a mistake, another was arguable, I guess. ~ Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 11:03, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
As an additional note, I was not conscious and sleepy today, maybe I should leave now. Sorry again. ~ Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 11:06, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
I'm not involved, I just noticed this message and then that parts of the message cannot be read because there is a dog in front of it. Similarly, it took me a while to navigate this talk page with more than 150 posts. Regards SoWhy 12:27, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
And SoWhyI'm sure you regularly make the same point at—say—EEng (mandatory honourary example), or to be fairer, perhaps your colleagues in the administratura; thinking of DGG, Ezhiki, Ruud Koot...etc. Don't worry, the dog doesn't bite. Take care! —SerialNumber54129 paranoia /cheap sh*t room 14:15, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
I didn't see their talk pages, I saw yours. Besides, "what about X?" is not really a convincing argument, is it? Those talk pages are equally annoying due to their length but that does not make them examples you should emulate. After all, I could point out dozens of talk pages (including mine) that are archived regularly. As for the dog, the annoying part is not its existence but the placement, for example, I cannot read the section below completely because of it. Regards SoWhy 14:28, 17 July 2018 (UTC)
@SoWhy: Clearly I disagree; the same question has been pretty comprehensively answered—and pretty robustly answered—above. Incidentally, I wasn't saying other stuff exists, I was observing that you would be arguing from a position of strength if you made similar points elsewhere. A tag has been placed on Kashmir under Pakistani Occupation requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer, or other unlikely search term.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — kashmīrī TALK 20:13, 28 July 2018 (UTC)

Hi, thanks to restore speedy for Ƣaznavid dynasty. This is a redirect left after reverting a nonsense page move of earlier today. Redirect should be deleted as speedy, please don't require others to waste their time discussing it. Cheers, — kashmīrī TALK 22:40, 3 July 2018 (UTC)

The article English invasion of Scotland (1385) you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:English invasion of Scotland (1385) for things which need to be addressed. Hi Serial Number 54129 (also similar question of @Natureium:), re Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard#Erasing_block_log - the easiest answer here is that the logs represent what "was done" not "what should have been done" and administrative actions should generally be open for community review. If someone is blocked in error, then unblocked the unblocking admin (usually the first one) will generally specify that in the unblocking log entry (and if they don't they can always add a 1 second block to record it later). — xaosflux Talk 18:16, 25 June 2018 (UTC)

Yes, Xaosflux I do (really) know why it happens, and more to the point understand why—understanding being greater than knowledge in many cases, and particularly here! I was considering alternate dimensions, that's all :) cheers for the message though. Take care! —SerialNumber54129 paranoia /cheap sh*t room 18:37, 25 June 2018 (UTC)

@J Milburn: Many thanks for the note! I have to apologose for not acknowledging those points. Pwerhaps I was a trifle miffed at the time, who know! Yes, please do! I'm sure it'll pass at FAC sooner or later, but a topic like this is always going to be tricky; there's hardly a set way to approach articles about the topic, so there's going to be room for reviewers to disagree about your approach. Josh Milburn (talk) 18:02, 12 June 2018 (UTC)

hi, I don't have xfd closer so I had to do manual plus I'm using desktop mode to edit as per normal using my handphone so is really difficult for me to close such things. Pulp Fiction cast section

The cast section for [[Pulp Ducktech89 (talk) 11:27, 23 March 2018 (UTC)

The cast section for Pulp Fiction is missing two notable roles, Paul Calderón as Paul and Joseph Pilato as Dean Martin. Both are presented prominently in the end credits but are not represented in the cast section. Even though they are minor roles, I still believe they should have a mention. I hope we can reach an agreement on this issue. Ducktech89 7:34, 23 March 2018 (WAST) Ducktech89 (talk) 11:34, 23 March 2018 (UTC)

Remove Controversies

The article focus on the artist success and it's irrelevant to use it as reference; when the editor only bother to narrow their view into controversies. In wikipedia own words: Since the primary purpose of the Wikipedia is to be a useful reference work, narrow article scopes are to be avoided.

Artificially or unnecessarily restricting the scope of an article to select a particular point of view on a subject area is frowned upon, even if it is the most popular point of view. MrEditor 13:39, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

@Serial Number 54129 Remove controversies from the artist Personal Life, given the insufficient references and narrow use of information. MrEditor 14:41, 13 March 2018 (UTC)

Referencing

I see that you're struggling again with the referencing in John Neville, 1st Marquess of Montagu. In the #Arms section you've got an sfn which starts but doesn't finish, and a ref which finishes without having started. --David Biddulph (talk) 15:00, 28 January 2018 (UTC)

Did you actually check the Journal articles to verify the term "male expendability"? I have not seen anything with that term, rather it appears to me to be original research. Atsme📞📧 14:42, 2 February 2018 (UTC)

Interesting...my Google search brought up a variety of terms, including "male disposablity", "disposable male myth", and so on. That's what made me wonder if maybe it was an attempt to coin the phrase. I went to ProjectMed thinking maybe it was a medical or psychological issue, and so far, got this response, so I went to Project Sociology for more input. The title may well be notable enough. Not sure why you removed massive amounts of content from the article to revert to last stable version when there was no activity on the article, I assume it was a good faith error but please be more careful using Twinkle.
