At the end of each message you will see a signature left by the editor posting. This is done by signing with four tildes (~~~~) or by pressing or in the editing interface toolbox, located just above the editing window (when editing). You won't need to sign your contributions to articles themselves; you only need to when using talk pages. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Citizen Cider, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. —SerialNumber54129 paranoia /cheap sh*t room 16:34, 25 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello CitizenCiderVT. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, and that you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to Black hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:CitizenCiderVT. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=CitizenCiderVT|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, please do not edit further until you answer this message. —SerialNumber54129 paranoia /cheap sh*t room 16:34, 25 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

We are just trying to get our company a Wikipedia page as we are one of the larger cider producers in New England. This is the second time I’ve attempted to upload, I did not mean to make it bias. What can I do to get a page uploaded? CitizenCiderVT (talk) 16:56, 25 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

In your case, I would highly recommend you contribute to articles for which you do not have a conflict of interest. It is exceedingly difficult to write a non-biased article about a topic in which you have a vested interest. This is an encyclopedia, it is not facebook, linkedin, or blogspace. If you think your topic is notable, change your user name so that it represents a single editor, not a corporation, declare your conflict of interest, and carefully review the notability guidelines for corporations and WP:NPOV before you start again. 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 17:30, 25 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. Thank you. 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 17:26, 25 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

CCVT, I'm sorry I didn't see your message until it's too late; and now, of course, your account has been blocked. The most important thing is probably to change your username. Then worry about the article. But I should clarify a couple of things: no-one has a right to "have a Wikipedia page" about them—what governs our content (i.e., what stays, what goes) is our rather strict policies on notability and verifiability. Now, if your firm is the biggest cider producer in New England, then it is certainly not impossible that, in fact, it warrants an article. However: you should not be the one to write it! As the blue message says above, if you write it yourself, you have a clear conflict of interst in doing so (although I note your user page declaration, nice one), and, even more, are probably in breach of Wikipedia's terms of use regarding undisclosed paid editing, which is very much frowned upon, I'm afraid. But, hey, get yourself unblocked via the instructions above and we can start to look at sourcing. Incidentally—if this sounds too much hassle, remember there are loads of other venues to promote your cider  :) Good luck. —SerialNumber54129 paranoia /cheap sh*t room 17:48, 25 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
On edit, apologies, I didn't see that 78.26 had already replied; read, re-read, and go by that  :) —SerialNumber54129 paranoia /cheap sh*t room 17:50, 25 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

Thank you for the explanation, it didn’t mean to come across as demanding I thought there was a way to suggest a page that’s all I was asking about. Again thank you for taking the time out of your day to explain how this process works. CitizenCiderVT (talk) 18:47, 25 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
