Ways to improve Malti Devi
[edit]Hi, I'm Epparadox. ParulThakur, thanks for creating Malti Devi!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Hi, I have added some tags to your recently created page. These will help improve the overall quality of the article, they can be removed at any point once the issues have been corrected.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Epparadox (talk) 15:56, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Radha Balakrishnan
[edit]Hello ParulThakur,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Radha Balakrishnan for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Cindydrew (talk) 16:04, 25 February 2014 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Bindu Bambah.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Bindu Bambah.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 15:55, 27 February 2014 (UTC)

This is an automated message from MadmanBot. I have performed a search with the contents of Sandhya Bauri, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: Sandhva Bauri. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the pageā you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally trying to rename an article, please see Help:Moving a page for instructions on how to do this without copying and pasting. If you are trying to move or copy content from one article to a different one, please see Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia and be sure you have acknowledged the duplication of material in an edit summary to preserve attribution history.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. MadmanBot (talk) 11:48, 8 March 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, and thanks for your work on the English Wikipedia.
I noticed you worked on this article:
https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Geeta_Mukherjee&diff=599697217&oldid=599447587
Just a short note to point out that we donāt normally link:
- dates
- years
- commonly known geographical terms (including well-known country-names), and
- common terms youād look up in a dictionary (unless significantly technical).
(This even applies for infoboxes.)
Thanks and my best wishes.

Ideas and opinions
[edit]Namaste
I have seen you have made some excellent contribution. Thanks for your contribution to Wikipedia.
I have some ideas and opinions.
- Please do not use {{reflist|2}} unless there are too many references (specially if there is one reference, it'll break the ref).
- Section header cap, use general sentence case like "Education and career" and not "Education nd Career.
- In the infobox if you use df=y for dates, it'll become DMY format. Please use either MDY or DMY.
I have made changes in few articles. I have done assessment and persondata+defaultsort etc boring works too. If you have any question or comment you may reply here or contact me here Regards. TitoāøDutta 22:26, 15 March 2014 (UTC)

Here is a plate of Baingan Bharta for you. Baingan bharta is a part of the national cuisines of both India and Pakistan. It is primarily a vegetarian dish that comprises bharta (minced vegetables) made from eggplant (baingan) which is grilled over charcoal or direct fire, to infuse the dish with a smoky flavor. Proposed deletion of Supurna Sinha
[edit]The article Supurna Sinha has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- No indication of notability, tagged for months without improvement. Nothing beyond passing mentions found via Google.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Huon (talk) 20:28, 2 November 2014 (UTC)

Cut-and-paste move
[edit]Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Anubha Bhosle a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Anubha Bhonsle. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Thank you. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. 7 more days to create or expand articles
[edit]Hello, thanks a lot for participating in Geographical Indications in India Edit-a-thon. We understand that perhaps 7 days (i.e. 25 January to 31 January) were not sufficient to write on a topic like this, and/or you may need some more time to create/improve articles, so let's extend this event for a few more days. The edit-a-thon will continue till 10 February 2016 and that means you have got 7 more days to create or expand articles (or imprpove the articles you have already created or expanded).
- Rules
The rules remain unchanged. Please report your created or expanded articles.
- Joining now
Editors, who have not joined this edit-a-thon, may also join now.
- Reviewing articles
Reviewing of all articles should be done before the end of this month (i.e. February 2016). We'll keep you informed. You may also check the event page for more details.
- Prizes/Awards
A special barnstar will be given to all the participants who will create or expand articles during this edit-a-thon. The editors, who will perform exceptionally well, may be given an Indic Geographical Indication product or object. However, please note, nothing other than the barnstar has been finalized or guaranteed. We'll keep you informed.
- Questions?
Feel free to ask question(s) here. -- User:Titodutta (talk) sent using MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 11:08, 2 February 2016 (UTC)

Wiki Loves Pride 2016
[edit]As a past contributor, you are invited to participate in the third annual Wiki Loves Pride campaign, which runs through the month of June. The purpose of the campaign is to create and improve content related to LGBT culture and history. How can you help?
- Create or improve LGBT-related Wikipedia pages and showcase the results of your work here
- Document local LGBT culture and history by taking pictures at pride events and uploading your images to Wikimedia Commons
- Contribute to an LGBT-related task force at another Wikimedia project (Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, Wikivoyage, etc.)
Looking for topics? The Tasks page, which you are welcome to update, offers some ideas and wanted articles.
This campaign is supported by the Wikimedia LGBT+ User Group, an officially recognized affiliate of the Wikimedia Foundation. The group's mission is to develop LGBT-related content across all Wikimedia projects, in all languages. Visit the affiliate's page at Meta-Wiki for more information, or follow Wikimedia LGBT+ on Facebook. Remember, Wiki Loves Pride is about creating and improving LGBT-related content at Wikimedia projects, and content should have a neutral point of view. One does not need to identify as LGBT or any other gender or sexual minority to participate. This campaign is about adding accurate, reliable information to Wikipedia, plain and simple, and all are welcome! If you have any questions, please leave a message on the campaign's talk page.
Thanks, and happy editing! ---Another Believer (Talk) 21:54, 30 May 2016 (UTC)

Hello, ParulThakur. I wanted to let you know that Iām proposing an article that you started, Anisha Acharya, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:
- edit the page
- remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}}
- save the page
Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Nsk92 (talk) 18:37, 27 November 2016 (UTC)

Hi. Thankyou for your participation in the challenge series or/and contests. In November The Women in Red World Contest is being held to try to produce new articles for as many countries worldwide and occupations as possible. There will be over $4000 in prizes to win, including Amazon vouchers and paid subscriptions. If this would appeal to you and you think you'd be interested in contributing new articles on women during this month for your region or wherever please sign up in the participants section. The articles done may also count towards the ongoing challenge. If you're not interested in prize money yourself but are willing to participate and raise money to buy books about women for others to use, this is also fine. Help would also be appreciated in drawing up the lists of missing articles. If you think of any missing articles please add them to the sub lists by continent at Missing articles. Thankyou, and if taking part, good luck!ā¦ Dr. Blofeld 08:40, 5 October 2017 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Kashmira Kakati
[edit]Hello, ParulThakur,
I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Kashmira Kakati should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kashmira Kakati .
If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
Thanks,
Elmidae (talk Ā· contribs) 18:31, 21 January 2018 (UTC)
- Hi ParulThakur, sorry about that. I'm not a big fan of our current notability guidelines for scientists either (whereas one could make the observation that we feature every football player who ever entered a stadium...) - but I fear Kashmira Kakati does not clear that threshold yet. Or so I think; please do comment at the deletion discussion page. You might consider adding the results of her work to other topically relevant pages instead, e.g. at Dehing Patkai Wildlife Sanctuary. --Elmidae (talk Ā· contribs) 18:36, 21 January 2018 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Radhika Gupta
[edit]Hello ParulThakur,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Radhika Gupta for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Hello, and thank you for contributing this article to WAM. Unfortunately, the article had to be rejected for now as part of the article appears to have been closely paraphrased from one of the sources; specifically, the third paragraph of the Career section. Featuring your work on Wikipedia's front page: DYKs
[edit]Thank you for your recent articles, including Puah Rakovsky, which I read with interest. When you create an extensive and well referenced article, you may want to have it featured on Wikipedia's main page in the Did You Know section. Articles included there will be read by thousands of our viewers. To do so, add your article to the list at T:TDYK. Let me know if you need help, Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 10:11, 29 November 2019 (UTC)
WikiProject assessment tags for talk pages
[edit]Thank you for your recent articles, including Puah Rakovsky, which I read with interest. When you create a new article, can you add the WikiProject assessment templates to the talk of that article? See the talk page of the article I mentioned for an example of what I mean. Usually it is very simple, you just add something like {{WikiProject Keyword}} to the article's talk, with keyword replaced by the associated WikiProject (ex. if it's a biography article, you would use WikiProject Biography; if it's a United States article, you would use WikiProject United States, and so on). You do not have to rate the article if you do not want to, others will do it eventually. Those templates are very useful, as they bring the articles to a WikiProject attention, and allow them to start tracking the articles through Wikipedia:Article alerts and other tools. For example, WikiProject Poland relies on such templates to generate listings such as Article Alerts, Popular Pages, Quality and Importance Matrix and the Cleanup Listing. Thanks to them, WikiProject members are more easily able to defend your work from deletion, or simply help try to improve it further. Feel free to ask me any questions if you'd like more information about using those talk page templates. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 10:11, 29 November 2019 (UTC)
- @Piotrus: This is very helpful. I wasn't aware and I did not know the benefits. Thank you for sharing. I will do that going forward.

Women in Red 8th Anniversary
[edit]Women in Red 8th Anniversary | |
In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. That's a lot of biographies created in the effort to close the gender gap. Happy 8th Anniversary! Join us for some virtual cake and add comments or memories and please keep on editing to close the gap! |
