Comment on draft
Hey! I saw your comment on the draft and you are correct that filming had begun and been completed. I must've missed it when looking through the article. Sorry about that! ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 14:17, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
- No problem. I've accepted the draft now. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 14:48, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
Sorry!
Sorry about reverting your edit on Toast (food); it was a misclick. My mouse died yesterday so I'm having to use trackpad which means I'm sometimes hitting the wrong button! Schminnte (talk • contribs) 15:03, 28 February 2023 (UTC)

Akhil Sam vijay
hi what kind of articles shoud be cite ? Akhilsamvijay (talk) 21:27, 28 February 2023 (UTC)
- @Akhilsamvijay: you need reliable sources showing significant coverage of the subject. That means each source should have several paragraphs at a minimum on the subject. Of the reliable sources currently in the draft (The Hindu and The Times of India) neither even mention the subject. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 15:10, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
Wikimedia Foundation project to improve PageTriage
Hi, as an active New Page Patroller, I wanted to make sure you were aware of an upcoming Wikimedia Foundation project to improve the PageTriage extension. We recently published results of user interviews, and have some findings that we would value patrollers' opinions on. If you haven't yet, please consider adding the project page to your watchlist to stay up to date with our progress! Samwalton9 (WMF) (talk) 13:17, 2 March 2023 (UTC)

Passive aggressive message
I'm really curious if that passive aggressive message you left me is some kind of default message send by wikipedia. I think that no one is editing articles by accident, especially all those edits that wikipedia doesn't like and censors. 141.237.5.73 (talk) 00:19, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
- You must adhere to Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, and not insert your own opinion into articles. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 00:24, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
- But it's not exactly a neutral point view, it's the point of view of the Western Hegemony. In fact it's so biased that often documents from state department and cia are used as reliable sources. 141.237.5.73 (talk) 11:01, 6 March 2023 (UTC)

LGBT history
Regarding my revert on LGBT history, I tried to revert vandalism but accidentally reverted it to another version which contained vandalism. Next time I'll be more careful when reverting vandalism. Sorry for that. Shadow of the Starlit Sky (talk) 15:07, 6 March 2023 (UTC)

Speed
You just reverted an edit far more quickly than I was able to. How were you able to do that? ComplexApe (talk) 22:40, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
- @ComplexApe: I use the WP:AntiVandal tool I created, which makes reverting and warning users much more efficient. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 22:43, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
- How do other users use that tool? Or is it just yours to use? ComplexApe (talk) 22:45, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
- @ComplexApe: any user with the rollback permission is allowed to use it. You can make a request for rollback at WP:PERM/R, though administrators typically look for at least 200 mainspace edits before granting the right -- right now, you have just over 100. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 22:47, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
- I believe I actually am showing around 277 edits produced in total. Is that because some are on talk pages as warnings issued for vandalism behavior? Thus not counting towards this number that you are referring to? Is earning this rollback permission the only way to use this WP:AntiVandal tool? ComplexApe (talk) 22:50, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
- @ComplexApe: you can see a breakdown of your edits at Xtools. "mainspace" refers to actual edits to articles, and doesn't count edits to user talk pages. Right now, having the rollback permission is necessary to use the tool. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 22:54, 6 March 2023 (UTC)

Anti-Vandal and the whitelist
If a user is included on the whitelist does that bypass the need for rollback permissions? I assume yes because from the looks of it it seems to be just a revert and not actually using rollback but I would just like to know cause I thought it was interesting that there is the whitelist. SkyTheWolf (Talk) 14:51, 7 March 2023 (UTC)
- @SkyWolf369: yes, if a user doesn't have rollback permissions, it uses manual reverting instead. I prefer to have users apply for rollback instead of adding them to the whitelist, however. I added the whitelist primarily so my alternate account, which doesn't have rollback, can use the script. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 15:03, 7 March 2023 (UTC)

- How would I constrain it so it didnt allow it to reach the wider width? SkyTheWolf (Talk) 15:24, 7 March 2023 (UTC)
- It's the tables holding your userboxes that's causing that -- you'll need to put fewer userboxes in each row, or just not use a table. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 15:26, 7 March 2023 (UTC)

- (talk page stalker) Hello Ingenuity! I would really like to use the tool Antivandal. I have a lot of vandalism reverting edits and am a Pending changes reviewer, but my account is still too new for rollback. I am asking if you are willing to make an exception and add me to the whitelist so I can use AntiVandal with just the regular undo. If this is not an option is it possible for me to just copy the code like above and add myself to my own whitelist? Possible issue with anti-vandal
So recently I've been experiencing FOUC issues. So I decided to disable my scripts one-by-one and I noticed that when I disabled anti-vandal the issues stopped happening. Qwerfjkl said they were also having these issues so I checked their common.js and noticed that they also have anti-vandal installed. Might wanna look into what's causing this. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 16:24, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Blaze Wolf: I've made a small change to the script, which (I hope) is the cause of the bug. Is the flashing still happening for you now? — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 16:29, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- I'll take a look. I just disabled it for now while you fix the bug so I Don't go crazy. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 16:30, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- Looks like that fixed it! Thanks! Mind telling me what was causing the bug? ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 16:41, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Blaze Wolf: looks like this code was causing it. That code created a new CSS stylesheet that added an icon in Vector 2022, which was requested here. For some reason, the bug only appears to happen on Chrome. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 16:46, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- I'm actually going to correct you on that and say that the bug only appears to happen on Chromium-based browsers. I use Opera GX which is based on Chromium and I experienced the bug (though to a much lesser extent than on Chrome). ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 16:58, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- I have a feeling the reason it was happening was that it was creating a stylesheet, however something was going awry and when Wikipedia tried to load it in, it would end up conflicting with the default stylesheet and so it would freak out and revert to the default which would be none. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 17:00, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- Writing to innerHTML modifies the underlying Document Object Model, and that causes the browser to stop loading the other resources required for the page, because since the document is being re-written, they might not be needed anymore. The document has to be reparsed after the modification is complete and then the browser can start loading the required resources again. isaacl (talk) 18:45, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- Blaze.exe has stopped working
- Mind explaining that in layman's terms? No offense to you, I'm just a bit confused by it. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 18:47, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- If you look at the code diff, you can see that "innerHTML" is being modified. The HTML for the page is being re-written. The browser stops trying to load other files that are referenced in the page that are needed to display the page, such as images, stylesheets, and Javascript files, because by the time the page is re-written, all of those references could have been removed. Once the re-writing is done, the browser can start over again. isaacl (talk) 19:00, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- Ah ok, that makes sense. I wonder if telling it to either load that before the page starts being loaded or after would fix the issue. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:04, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- You may have seen this comment of mine that discussed options for using Javascript to modify a page. The usual approach is to schedule your Javascript code to run after page loading and rendering has been completed. (The browser has to load the page before it knows what Javascript to run, so it can't really run before, and in any case, before page load, there is no page for the Javascript code to affect.) This can result in a shifting layout when the code runs. I understand there are ways for gadgets/user scripts to define how much space their UI elements will use in order avoid shifting (instead, elements would appear in the reserved space once the Javascript code runs), but I don't know the details. isaacl (talk) 19:22, 8 March 2023 (UTC)

Proposal for Anti-Vandal
I was wondering about if we could make a sort of colorblind mode or add the ability to allow users to change the colors of certain things so they can see things better. This proposal stems from me being partly colorblind and wondering if it would affect other users who are colorblind. SkyTheWolf (Talk) 17:15, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
- I think this would be a good idea and would improve accessibility.

Sorry for this annoying message
Sorry that this is so pedantic... maybe you can receive it as a "heads-up": As the nominator, you were not "allowed" to close that userbox MfD yourself, under the deletion guidelines (more of that) and instructions, because there were delete !votes (... that possibly would have changed in light of your withdrawal, but they still hadn't): closing as keep when there are delete !votes undercuts those !votes -- speedy keep due to nominator withdrawal is only absolutely fine when you nominate someting for deletion, get essentially zero support, realize that it's hopeless or that it was just the wrong idea to nominate, and then withdraw to save a bit of community time. This was 2-2 so, on the face of it, it was a legitimately contentious discussion. No one has complained and almost certainly no one will, and I don't think that the close should be undone (don't take this as a complaint), but I just wanted to let you know that we can always withdraw (such as by posting a comment to that effect), but we can't always close because we withdrew. Sooo... That's it! Kind regards—Alalch E. 19:25, 10 March 2023 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Template:User likes Moops
I very much appreciate your withdrawing nomination for this template. While I don't think anyone's going to complain, technically you should have withdrawn your nom and let somebody else close it, since several editors in the process had agreed with your nom. I have been fighting recently for the rights of retired users to not have their historic user subpages deleted. Your nomination allowed me to turn this situation into a good example of why we shouldn't immediately delete user thought merely because opinions may become harder to justify over time. I believe I explained it better on my usertalk. Thank you for nominating this template. I think you've helped move my "crusade" forward (such as it is). BusterD (talk) 19:08, 10 March 2023 (UTC)

- Thanks for your message, BusterD. I initially nominated it thinking along the lines of having a template that says "[insert sock] is awesome" doesn't seem like a great idea, but you're right: it's not my job to police what users should or shouldn't have on their user page. Hi, I'm new to editing wikipedia, please how do I improve the reliability of my page Wellington Victory (talk) 19:44, 12 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Wellington Victory: the draft needs references to reliable sources, for example significant coverage in well-known newspapers. If no reliable sources exist, the subject is not notable enough for an article. Also, please do not resubmit without significantly improving the page, as it is likely to be declined again and wastes reviewers' time. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 19:55, 12 March 2023 (UTC)

Please advise if any additional information is needed and please advise any specific changes needed to publish page to wikipedia Santos Boxing (talk) 22:15, 14 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Santos Boxing: as I stated in the review, you need to add inline citations. If you need help doing this, you can read referencing for beginners. The draft also needs to be less promotional. Do you have a conflict of interest with this subject? I would assume so, given your username. If you do, you need to declare your conflict of interest on your user page. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 22:21, 14 March 2023 (UTC)

AntiVandal Logo??
Hello @Ingenuity,
I saw you made a userbox for the tool antivandal. I thought it looked a little bland, and as I am an amateur graphic designer, I thought I could make a logo. You can see it here:
If you like it, feel free to use it anywhere you want. If you hate it, let me know and I can tag it for deletion. No worries either way! - 🔥𝑰𝒍𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑭𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒆 (𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒌)🔥 14:10, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
- That looks great, @Illusion Flame! I've added it to WP:AntiVandal. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 20:20, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks! - 🔥𝑰𝒍𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑭𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒆 (𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒌)🔥 20:25, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
- I second this! While it's a bit complicated it's still recognizable enough from afar and the angreh stikmin is fun! My biggest issue is that the wordmark colors look too similar to WP:RedWarn, which theoretically shouldn't be much of a problem as it is getting replaced by the WP:UV rewrite soon, but then again that's soon™ since feb 2022 Aaron Liu (talk) 22:55, 18 March 2023 (UTC)

Delete the Draft : Gulmohar (2023 TV Series)
The article for Gulmohar (2023 Film) already exists, the draft Draft:Gulmohar (2023 TV Series) needs to be deleted as it wrongly mentions it as a TV Series and an article for the already exists as mentioned earlier. Aniprk007 (talk) 07:28, 20 March 2023 (UTC)

- Hey @Chefmikesf. I typically don't review articles on request, sorry. From a quick glance, I don't see any references that meet WP:CORPDEPTH: most are interviews, press releases, etc. which don't really demonstrate notability. To increase chances of a quick review, I would suggest pointing out in a comment what you think the best WP:THREE sources are. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 14:08, 21 March 2023 (UTC)

Question about Anti-Vandal
Hi, I have a question about AntiVandal script. Does it install a file or something on your computer itself or is it like Twinkle (a gadget)?
Thanks, Vamsi20 (talk) 16:08, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
- Hey @Vamsi20! It's like Twinkle, so you don't have to download anything to use it; follow WP:AntiVandal#Installation for instructions on how to add it to your common.js. (you do need the rollback permission to use it, however.) — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 16:13, 4 April 2023 (UTC)

Joan Finney Article
I noticed on my WatchList that you recently reverted vandalism to the Joan Finney article by User talk:2604:CA00:1C8:99B3:0:0:662:1A25, and I was wondering if you were recommending any further action should be taken to either block this user or semi-protect the article because other recent acts of vandalism to the Joan Finney article by that user have also been reverted. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments regarding this matter. TommyBoy (talk) 00:06, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
- @TommyBoy: I don't think this article needs to be protected; pages are only protected when there is persistent vandalism from multiple users, which doesn't appear to be the case. The IP doesn't really need to be blocked either -- they haven't edited in over six hours. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 00:28, 20 April 2023 (UTC)

Autopatrolled
Hi Ingenuity, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.
Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.
Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Schwede66 18:51, 20 April 2023 (UTC)

Draft re-review (Eleri Ward)
Hi, I was wondering if you could take another look at Draft:Eleri Ward since you gave me feedback on it before? Particularly the sourcing; I replaced most of the BWW sources per your feedback, but I kept two of them (an interview with the subject and an album review) as those seem to be original writing rather than the press release reprints mentioned at WP:RSP, and if nothing else I think they work as primary sources. Invisiboy42293 (talk) 20:35, 4 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Invisiboy42293 great work on this! I've accepted it now. One thing I would suggest is that the list in the "Artistry and recognition" could be shortened and/or turned into prose, rather than a list. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 20:55, 4 May 2023 (UTC)

- Over the years a few IP editors have placed bolded supports in the general comments, which do everything but add to the tally, and no one complained. For my own part, if I happen to be active I may occasionally drop in to counter sincere opposes that aren't complete rubbish. For that purpose the general comments section is actually better since its less likely to evolve into an unproductive back and forth. 74.73.224.126 (talk) 03:36, 13 May 2023 (UTC)

- I agree, and would definitely be a supporter. Very well rounded candidate: content creation for those who want it, excellent anti-vandal work (in both senses) and new page reviewing. Plus, anyone who regularly beats me to reverting vandalism has my respect :) Schminnte (talk • contribs) 16:54, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
Congratulations
I don't want to break form, but with less than 24 hours to go and near certainty of your RfA passing I'd like to extend my congratulations! Make sure you use these tools wisely... – John M Wolfson (talk • contribs) 16:02, 14 May 2023 (UTC)

Well, here's your mop
Use it well. When you've cleaned out the toilets, you can come to the admin room for a cup of tea and biscuits. SilkTork (talk) 16:21, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- Congrats! That's a better mop than I got... - UtherSRG (talk) 16:32, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- Definitely smells better than the one they handed me, I had to take the mophead off and boil it in oxiclean. Valereee (talk) 17:58, 15 May 2023 (UTC)

Hi there, looking at the history of this IP's edits and the block log, would you consider increasing the duration to 1 week? Just as a note of observation from other admins' activities, if the blocks are recent enough (generally within a few months of one another), admins will typically move up the scale in block durations. Congrats on the adminship, BTW! 73.67.145.30 (talk) 16:56, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
- Done -- I thought I selected one week, but apparently not. — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 16:58, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
Congrats
Hi Ingenuity, I would bring a T-shirt but they are out of stock from my supplier. Someone else might have a better supplier, but you can order one from me and I'll bring it when it's back in stock. Keep developing AntiVandal as it's the main tool I use as I edit from mobile a lot. Yours, Zippybonzo | Talk (he|him) 17:04, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
Congrats!
Congrats on the admin my friend! *looks down at the categories* I suppose the "Administrators without tools" category isn't exactly correct anymore now is it. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 18:45, 15 May 2023 (UTC)

Congratulations on your overwhelmingly successful RFA. It seems you have not received a certain item of apparel yet, so here it is. Whpq (talk) 19:32, 15 May 2023 (UTC) |

Scripts
Hi, I noticed that your scripts use function
, let
, and const
in the topmost scope. This is inadvisable because, unlike gadgets, user scripts run in the global scope. I suggest wrapping entire scripts in immediately invoked functions.
I also added the rest of your scripts listed on your user page to WP:User scripts/List. If you don't intend them to be widely imported, feel free to remove them. Thanks. Nardog (talk) 08:58, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
VRT Request
Hello @Ingenuity. If you get a chance, could you review Draft:Sonita Gale. A user in the Info-En queue requested it.
