Template names
Hi Crisco 1492 (talk · contribs). I'm reviewing a DYK nomination from 10 August that no one got around to examining until today. The nominator(s) didn't use the standard Template:Did you know nominations and instead used a different one. I reformatted their nomination using the fields of the standard Template, but I notice that the location of the nomination is at Template talk:Did you know (Template talk:Did you know/Royal Commission on Opium). Since I'm not sure if that's a problem, I figured it was worth bringing to your attention. Hmm, and upon previewing this message, I notice that Template:Did you know nominations is redlinked, so I'm officially nonplussed now as to what's going on. A nomination that I submitted a short while ago went to Template:Did you know nominations/Elinor Joseph – but if there's no such Template, why is called that?—Biosketch (talk) 10:27, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
- Hi Biosketch. Right now there is a bit of restructuring, so the location of the nomination subpages has changed a few times (3 by my count). It is not a problem, so you should just do a review as you normally would. More information can be found on the discussion page. Crisco 1492 (talk) 10:35, 17 August 2011 (UTC)

DYK Arab Indonesians
I was actually reviewing the article for your DYK nomination and didn't realise until after I'd done it that you can't review if you edit the article. Oh well. You may wish to modify the hook a bit. The source says "Arabs settled in Indonesia in small impermanent trading communities from perhaps the fifth century." Adding "may" like this would fix it. "... that the first Arabs settlements in Indonesia (family pictured) may date from the fifth century?" --Anthonyhcole (talk) 08:55, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
- You are allowed to fix things you see wrong, but if you expand it majorly you shouldn't review. May works fine. Crisco 1492 (talk) 10:03, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
- Great. I'm in the middle of something now, and will do the review in 24 hours if someone hasn't got to it. --Anthonyhcole (talk) 10:14, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
- Done, I think. Is that all I need to do? --Anthonyhcole (talk) 16:28, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
- Yep, just like that. Crisco 1492 (talk) 16:31, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
- Good. I've suggested removing the s from "Arabs" in the hook. If the s was a typo, feel free to delete my alt hook and correct yours. --Anthonyhcole (talk) 17:18, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

DYK
Hi,
Very interesting article about Murias.
But I experienced a problem with reviewing that nomination. Because there was a hook from two articles you named that nomination according to both of them. Now, when I nominated a hook for DYK my review is not recognizable because my nomination includes review of the hook from two articles. Maybe the solution could be to use only one article name when nominating the hook connected with more than one articles?
Any thoughts?

DYK for Babi Island (Flores)
On 29 August 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Babi Island (Flores), which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that although the 1992 Flores earthquake was to its north, Babi Island may have been hit by tsunamis from both the north and south? You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |
