Get off my pictures
They are not copyright infringement they are pictures I TOOK OF MY OWN PERSONAL COLLECTIONS! Thank you. JamesAlan1986 *talk 10:34, 11 September 2011 (UTC)
- If they were copyright infringement everyone who ever posted their own personal collections would get arrested for it. It's not copyright infringement and what I've posted is correct, they are my personal collection and I give permission for them to be on here for the use of my user and I use them on my user page. So please everyone stop messing with them. JamesAlan1986 *talk 10:39, 11 September 2011 (UTC)
UH no just cause the CD's are doesn't mean that what I do is wrong. Like I said posting your own personal collection is not copyright infringement and as such my pictures should not be on the whole WP:CSD for any reason. JamesAlan1986 *talk 10:44, 11 September 2011 (UTC)
- Okay I'm not gonna ask you again get off my pictures they are not copyright infringement and as they are mine I have the right to remove that so back off! JamesAlan1986 *talk 10:50, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

Luckily, I can read Edo period hentaigana. However, I'm a little rusty because I haven't worked with it in a while, so a transcription would help in some respects, at least to make sure that I'm reading things consistently. MSJapan (talk) 03:08, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, I saw the transcription on the page. Even when I worked with texts that were transcribed (and commercially published) for academia in modern Japanese, there were always a few mistakes, but in much lengthier material - this should be fine. I'll get this sorted as soon as I can. I will see how long this takes me, and let me know if there's other stuff as well. MSJapan (talk) 06:15, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
- To a certain extent, classical is classical - just like in English, there are words that are denoted with particular meanings in particular time periods, and the doctionaries don't discriminate. Even if someone is a period specialist, it is very rare that said person has not worked on something from every period. Frankly, I find the earlier material easier, as there's less variation in the writing style. MSJapan (talk) 06:32, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
- I can do it, but I haven't had the chance as of yet. MSJapan (talk) 06:05, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

Opinion on image
Hi Crisco. I was thinking about nominating an image for FPC, but I have to admin, I know little or nothing about image quality. The image is File:Doom Bar from Hawker's Cove.jpg, which shows a sandbank at high water - you can still see the shoal under the water level. I'm confident that it does have the encyclopedic value for Doom Bar, and the compostition looks fine to me, I'm just unsure if the quality/colour levels/light levels are up to FPC standard. As I've seen you on FPC a few times I thought I might beg your opinion? Is it even worth nominating? WormTT · (talk) 10:35, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- Also, if there are any adjustments you think could be made to improve the image (say, scaling?) I'd appreciate the suggestions (or you're welcome to do them yourself!) WormTT · (talk) 10:41, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- It's a fairly nice view, but I don't think flat lands will get much support. What part of the image is the sand bar itself, the one at the right edge or across the bay? The grass along the bottom doesn't seem to have much encyclopedic value, so I'd crop that. Crisco 1492 (talk) 10:46, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- Can crop that without too much difficulty. The one we're looking at it towards the forefront of the picture, with the waves breaking over it. You can see the shape of it from the colours of the water. WormTT · (talk) 10:49, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- Hmm... I'd go for a higher angle preferably as we are describing a fairly flat landmark. Does the bar include some of the grasslands, or just the sand? I've done a crop and touched up the levels a bit, but my connection is rather slow so I do not know when it will finally upload. Crisco 1492 (talk) 10:55, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- . I'm not exactly a miracle worker, but it seems a little better than before. To be honest, I'd probably give weak support to the image as I feel that a higher angle would be better. Crisco 1492 (talk) 10:59, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- (edit conflict)It's a couple of hundred miles away, so I'm not sure when I'll get another chance to take one at a higher angle! ;) Thanks for doing the upload, there's of course no rush, it was just more of a curiosity, I've not done much image work before. The bar itself is just the sand, the shape is shown quite well in File:Camel Estuary 1825 and 2010.png (I was standing approx level with the word "Doom Bar"). I think I might put it forward then, just to experience the process. Thank you very much for your help WormTT · (talk) 11:02, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

Responded to DYK issue
Hello Crisco, thanks for having reviewed the DYK nom of at Template:Did you know nominations/John Palocaren. I've responded to the issue you raised. I'm not sure what should happen next. Many thanks -- Presearch (talk) 15:30, 27 September 2011 (UTC)
X
Regarding Template:Did you know nominations/X (The X-Files), I'm probably the wrong person to ask. I generally have a dim view of hooks that are made "interesting" by means of obscure or deceptive wording. I prefer to write hooks that are relatively straightforward. For that article, I might write something like:
- ... that in 2009 Entertainment Weekly listed X as one of 20 "black sci-fi icons"?
That's still a bit mysterious, but it gives the reader some context. --Orlady (talk) 02:02, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
Ebony Bones
Regarding artist Ebony Bones. We request you refrain from adding incorrect photos of which are not her. Thank you for reading and hope you're happy with life. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Krugkris (talk • contribs) 05:47, 28 September 2011 (UTC) We can confirm this as her record label and ask you refrain from any further changes. We also ask you keep in mind not all females of color look the same. And yes we have full ownership of this photo. However what is unclear is your stalker like obsession for an artist you clearly fail to even recognize. . Krugkris
