Orphaned fair use image (Image:Snapshot224.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Snapshot224.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. License tagging for Image:Exercito1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Exercito1.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

Indy 500 the simulation and screenshots

[edit]

Thanks for adding the CVG infobox - it was well-needed.

I just wanted to advise that while images are much appreciated, sometimes people get restrictive about how many screenshots can be added to an article. The official rule seems to be 1 in-game shot. Please do not take offense if someone discusses this with you sometime in the future.

As an aside, all screenshots are usually tagged with "{{Non-free game screenshot}}", like you already did with Image:Indy500sa.png . Also, I'm not sure why you replaced the in-game racing screenshot with a new one, but I might look at/compare which one is better and consult with you which would work best for the article.

Did you create this image yourself, or did you find it somewhere and upload it? If you found it somewhere, where did you find it from?

Please respond either in here on your talk page, or on my talk page. Please do respond to this, otherwise the image may have to be deleted.

Not Vandalism

[edit]

Hello. While although I'm sure you had the best of intentions, and were acting entirely in good faith, the edit you reverted on the xbox 360 page was not vandalism. (It may or may not have been a good edit, mind you. But that's a separate matter)
We're having a hard time tracking down where microsoft actually said that it's within 3-5%. Heck, we're even having a hard time confirming that that (rather suspicious) number is even what they consider to be normal for the 'industry' (or what industry they were allegedly talkinga bout).
Yes, lots (and lots and lots) of people seem to quote them as having said 3-5%, but we can't seem to find any sources that actually directly quote that figure; they simply mention it in passing, as though it's something they heard that someone heard that microsoft had said.
In any event, on a couple of the 360 talk pages (ie. on that page, and on the technical problems page), we've been discussing whether or not we can even definitively state that they made the claim, and whether or not it could be treated as being a 'normal' rate, even if we could finally find the quote.
uh, anyways. long story short: not vandalism, because they've been discussing it on the talk page, and it's in good faith. Bladestorm 13:39, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like Blade beat me to this. Anyways, please stop repeatedly making these edits to the intro. That section is under heavy discussion in talk right now and a consensus is being worked on. Unsourced, original research material you put back in Fanboy

[edit]

Hi there! Over in the Fanboy article I removed some unsourced material that constituted original research, which is generally not to be included in encyclopedia articles. You put it back without explanation. Can you please come to the talk page and give some kind of reason why it should be there? If you can't, I'm going to take it out again because original research can't be included in articles. The material you put back in might even be true (probably is), but if it stays in the article without some kind of justification or sourcing, some overzealous editor or administrator is going to come along and delete the whole article, calling it a "magnet for original research". I'm trying to save the article. Vadder 17:07, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:PaperMario2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:PaperMario2.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Your Recent PlayStation 2 article edit

[edit]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to PlayStation 2. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you.

I would also like to add that by reverting the information to that which is nearly a year old constitutes as vandalism. The Comparison of the sixth-generation era article is only needed as a summary of each console and therefore is more focused on comparison. PlayStation 2 is recognised as a world success and the current sales information is available, therefore this is absolutely important to place on the PlayStation 2 article itself, which is actually about the PlayStation 2, then the comparison article which is about four or more consoles. As you can see, reverting these edits is considered vandalism, you are taking away recent information and needed information. This information is of more importance on the PlayStation 2 article than a comparison page. Also, if you have added it to the comparison page there is no reason at all to get rid of it from the PlayStation 2 page. Please refrain from doing so in future. Thank you.

  • Evidence - [1] User stated that he/she was following WP:INTRO guideline, but did not clean. Instead removed summary information and latest updated information and reverted back to information nearly 7 months old [March 2007]. Also removed important references and sources for the article.

As mentioned, please refrain from doing so in the future. JTBX 21:05, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Angie Akers

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Angie Akers, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Angie Akers. Replaceable fair use Image:Banned360.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Banned360.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 16:24, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Isabella Nardoni case AFD nomination

[edit]

Hello, I just noticed you nominated the page Isabella Nardoni case (which I have created) for deletion yesterday. The result was Keep, as you can see here. Anyway, it was very impolite of you not to have notified me about your nomination on my talk page. I've been away from the computer for some days, but I found time to use it for a few minutes now. If I was to stay away for more days, and the article was to be deleted, I could have figured it out only after the deletion, which means that I wouldn't have the chance to improve it. The article is secured now, but keep that in mind for further nominations of yours. It really isn't nice to have your own work simply erased without your knowledge. Thank you, and happy editing. Brazil national football team

Hi! I replied in the article's talk page. Regards, --Carioca (talk) 21:46, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Importance is a subjetive thing, and if brazilians win a tournment they say it´s important, and if they loose, it´s not. For the Olympics 1996 the played with Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Bebeto, Mauro Silva, Roberto Carlos... At theese olympics 2008 they called Ronaldinho, Diego, Rafinha, Anderson, Lucas, Alexandre Pato, Marcelo, Jo, Rafael Sobis, etc, all important players who have played for the senior team...
Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and we musn´t hide things, as many users want to do. The sentence is true and it will be where it was. --Ultracanalla (talk) 23:32, 1 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:LittleBigPlanetOfficialUKBoxArt.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:LittleBigPlanetOfficialUKBoxArt.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:31, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Carmen Miranda

[edit]

Hi! Opinoso is not an administrator (check this list), but even if he was an administrator, his opinion would have the same weight than the opinion of non-administrators. So, you can go ahead and discuss any changes to the article, if you want to. Regarding Carmen Miranda's nationality, the Carmen Miranda article implies that she is a naturalized Brazilian: "shortly after her birth, her father, José Maria, emigrated to Brazil and settled in Rio de Janeiro", but that info is unsourced, so I don't know if it correct or not. Anyway, it is better to discuss in the talk page before making any changes to the article. You can even suggest a replacement for Carmen Miranda in the article's talk page. Hope that helps. --Carioca (talk) 20:59, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Psxlogo.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Psxlogo.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Asenine  17:13, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cut and paste moves

[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Kojima (disambiguation) a different title by copying its content and pasting it into Kojima. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is considered undesirable because it splits the page history which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. —Ashanda (talk) 04:49, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I just saw your discussion with Opinoso. As both of you agree that the image should be replaced, I suggest you to contact Dantadd, who is an administrator at Wikimedia Commons and is the one who uploaded the image there, and request to him to upload a new image with a replacement for the Carmen Miranda image. You can mention to him the Brazilian people article discussion. Hope that helps --Carioca (talk) 17:33, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Zeebo Inc.

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Zeebo Inc. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. KurtRaschke (talk) 21:37, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for File:Zeebo.jpg}

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Zeebo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. License tagging for File:Psp go 001bmp.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Psp go 001bmp.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 23:08, 30 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Jeff Peckman

[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Jeff Peckman. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jeff Peckman. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:06, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve National vs. Club teams

[edit]

Hi, I'm Alpedio. Ciao 90, thanks for creating National vs. Club teams!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. A few suggestions: You may want to make a list of the recorded games, and then format them into a table. You should also change the title to something that flows more. Such as "List of recorded football games between National and Club teams". --Alp

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. —Preceding undated comment added 01:02, 14 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Poorich.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted content borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. An article you recently created, Fatboy Slim Presents Bem Brasil, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hello, Ciao 90. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Fatboy Slim Presents Bem Brasil".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply Template:Edit and remove the Template:Tlc, Template:Tlc, or Template:Tlc code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 23:16, 7 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
