ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
Hello, Rfl0216. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for March 10
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Cinema in Sudan: Conversations with Gadalla Gubara, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Peter Lewis. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

I saw you rated this article "Start" class. According to the Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography/Assessment#Quality scale that means it is "an article that is developing, but which is quite incomplete. It might or might not cite adequate reliable sources. Provides some meaningful content, but most readers will need more." See WP:ARTASS: it would be helpful if you add notes on the article's talk page (not here) saying what improvements you feel would be needed to bring the article up to "C" class on the quality scale. For example, what other information would most users be looking for? What improvements to sourcing, grammar, organization etc. do you feel are most urgently needed? Thanks, Aymatth2 (talk) 22:01, 7 October 2017 (UTC)
- Hello. I only rated it as a Start class because I did not know whether to rate it "C" or "B" class, but I knew it was above a Stub. You can always re-rate it, if you'd like. Rfl0216 (talk) 15:13, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
- I would never rate an article I started. If you are not sure about the criteria, you can always leave the rating blank. It is still useful to add the project templates. With luck a project member who is familiar with the criteria will spot it and rate it. Looking at the definition of "Start" class, I find the rating a bit discouraging: it sounds like "not much use to anyone". The article is fully sourced, follows all the rules, and that is all I could find on the subject. Aymatth2 (talk) 15:32, 14 October 2017 (UTC)
- My apologies, I did not realize you were the author of the article. I've removed the ratings, hopefully someone else with better knowledge of C and B class will rate it. Sorry to step on toes. Rfl0216 (talk) 16:30, 14 October 2017 (UTC)

Hi! Thanks for your helpful contributions on Wikipedia! On reply of your this edit, I want to say that you probably undid my last edit saying "Add parameter", where I had given an edit summary. The {{:Template:Infobox Band}} is already a redirect of {{:Template:Infobox musical artist|background=group_or_band}}. So what you added remains invisible. Undoing your good faith edit, Thanks! M. Personally, I should add that you saved me some work on the hoped-for ultimate journey to FA for that article by doing this. Although ... I generally use {{cite news}} for things like movie reviews and articles in periodicals or on equivalent websites ({{cite web}}, I think, is better for static web content). And I've noticed more people using the {{nbsp}} template instead of the coding ... I don't know; is that what Provelt does by default? Daniel Case (talk) 01:15, 11 June 2018 (UTC)

- Hello. I have access to the US version of Netflix and since The Flash airs on the CW in the United States, I can only access up to season 4. I think I've very rarely seen Netflix as a source for future episode data for a tv show, other than their 100% original stuff like Stranger Things. Since the press release for episode 12 hasn't been released yet, I found it kind of suspect. Rfl0216 (talk) 00:51, 12 January 2019 (UTC)
My articles
I greatly appreciate you taking the time to rate so many of the articles I've been doing these last 3-4 months. I wonder if you wouldn't mind having a look, at some point, at a few of the ones rated "Start"; I'm sure most of them are justifiably 'start' but it would be nice to have another rater's opinion who seems to appreciate the work I've been putting into this. Also, you could see if you agree with my assessment of my first article, You Are Here, that it is now "B" rather than C. Once again, thank you. ZarhanFastfire (talk) 04:19, 19 March 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for the reassessment. I've often thought some of the Start-class assessments my early articles received was too low. What I'd like to know though, is why you removed the |3 from the Reflist? All it does is render the refs ito 3 columns rather than 2, which is useful with bigger ref's. I've seen it used in many other articles. ZarhanFastfire (talk) 17:59, 18 November 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for your attention to the Storefront Hitchcock page! Do you have any suggestions for improving it to the next level as far as rating? For example, which of these do you see as the most immediate issue holding it back:
- Providing references to reliable sources should come first; the article also needs substantial improvement in content and organisation. Also improve the grammar, spelling, writing style and improve the jargon use.

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:FL The Wire articles
A tag has been placed on Category:FL The Wire articles requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

- From the page WP:WikiProject Sports/Assessment#FAQ point 7:
7. Why didn't the reviewer leave any comments?
Unfortunately, due to the volume of articles that need to be assessed, we are unable to leave detailed comments in most cases. If you have particular questions, you might ask the person who assessed the article; they will usually be happy to provide you with their reasoning. - Apparently you are not happy to provide us/me with your reasoning, meaning you could have valid reasons for your rating result, but also could mean your rating is the rating of a totally clueless person.
- So, maybe you could provide your reasoning after all. -- --Sb008 (talk) 10:35, 15 February 2021 (UTC)
Assessment of Steak Diane
Thanks for updating the assessment of the Steak Diane article. Looking at the criteria for the different levels, I'm not sure exactly why you gave it a "Start" rating rather than, say, a "B". As far as I can tell, the article is well-organized and well-written. It is NPOV in that it covers both the mainstream recipes and variants, and the most plausible history as well as some other claims. It has large numbers of reliable sources, and I'm not sure what aspects are missing. If there are specific MOS issues, I'd appreciate knowing what they are. Thanks! --Macrakis (talk) 19:37, 9 March 2021 (UTC)

Thanks for updating the referencing tags on this. You are of course right and I will endeavour to fix over time. However it might be useful for you to look into the background to this. UK fire & rescue articles have become a magnet for huge amounts of unreferenced content / original research - station numbers, appliances, callsigns. Look at the edit history of many and you'll see lots of wikifiddling by IP editors updating (likely based on personal knowledge) changes at individual stations. None of it is ever referenced and it affects 90% of the articles. Look at my recent edit history and you'll see that I have "improved" a few fire & rescue articles by replacing with some level or other of (primary) referenced material that can at least be verified and can therefore bed defended in the future against creeping addition of original research. Feel free to tag my other edited articles and of course to have a crack at the 90% of bad ones that need to be sorted. Thanks again. --10mmsocket (talk) 21:27, 30 March 2021 (UTC)

GA topic
Hi Rflo216, I noticed that in your banner cleanup you put "arts" as a GA topic. This doesn't work, it needs "Art and architecture". (It probably should work, but I don't know how editable the GA system is.) Best, CMD (talk) 09:43, 7 January 2022 (UTC)

Occasional unexplained changes
Hi Rflo216. Could you please explain why you keep changing the viewership template? (such as here [1]) The one you keep adding is not practical for articles with very few views, as is it makes it quite harder to see the numbers. --HistoryofIran (talk) 23:54, 13 February 2022 (UTC)

Removing needs-photo=yes?
Hi, what's the reason for removing needs-photo=yes from drafts such as here and this? Regards KylieTastic (talk) 18:31, 2 November 2022 (UTC)
- Hello. I've found that drafts that have needs-photo=yes appear in this maintenance category... but I won't touch those anymore. Rfl0216 (talk) 18:26, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks for the pointer - I'll look into that when I get time, looks like a template error. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 19:31, 6 November 2022 (UTC)
GA banner cleanup
Hi Rfl0216, regarding the GA banner cleanup such as this one, just to let you know that the template is super finicky and doesn't accept "arts" as a topic. It requires "Art and architecture", or it bugs out. Best, CMD (talk) 07:07, 19 October 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Rfl0216, just a reminder on this. "arts" is not a valid topic parameter. CMD (talk) 01:02, 11 November 2022 (UTC)

Bath School disaster
You ran some CS1 maintenance on this article on December 20th, changing an URL status from "usurped' to "dead". Usurped in this case is not incorrect, the daggy website at times * (specifically, the last time I had previously checked, May 2022) has been usurped by at least one bad-faith enterprise . To keep anyone from possibly clicking on a usurped website and infecting their computer, I think it is best to keep the usurped designation so I reverted your change. Wanted to let you know why - Shearonink (talk) 10:03, 26 December 2022 (UTC)

Fit to Fight (film) assessment
Hi, sorry, I hope this doesn't seem like I'm picking on you, but I'm often confused by the assessments of articles that I've worked on that come across my watchlist, and I thought I'd finally ask a rater to try to understand how their process works. Did you read the article before rating it? It's 900 words long, which would take an average person maybe 3-5 minutes to read. But looking at the timestamps of your contribution history, it doesn't seem like you could have spent more than a minute? I can understand that maybe even just skimming an article could in some cases give you a sense that there are significant problems or omissions that would put it at C class. But if that was the case, could you describe what those issues were? Again, sorry if this comes across as prickly, I'm just genuinely interested in understanding your assessment. WikiProject rating
Hi, I wanted to flag that there was no benefit to your https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Talk%3AArthur_Conan_Doyle&diff=1176903599&oldid=1176888435 edit as the banner shell was already classed as B, hence all the WikiProjects effectively already were, as per WP:PIQA. -Kj cheetham (talk) 10:30, 25 September 2023 (UTC)
- The only reason I did that was because the page showed in the Unassessed Military history category, but fine. Won’t happen again. Rfl0216 (talk) 11:14, 25 September 2023 (UTC)

- I think Kj cheetham reported it on the talk page of the banner shell. Rfl0216 (talk) 11:31, 9 October 2023 (UTC)

Disambig-rating edits
Hi Rfl0216, is it okay if I undo your recent edits (adding a WikiProject Disambig
-class) on the following talk pages? They were previously rated as set-index articles (a form of list), but due to a bot error, they recently had their SIA-class ratings erroneously removed. If it's okay, I'd like to restore the versions of the pages prior to the bot error.
Let me know if you have any queries at all. All the best, —a smart kitten[meow] 18:37, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
- I only rated them as Disambig because they were showing up as unassessed... but, apologies, feel free to undo them. Rfl0216 (talk) 18:39, 1 February 2024 (UTC)
- No problem, & no need to apologise! I'm sorry if anything in my previous message came across badly - I just wanted to check before I undid anything, to hopefully prevent any potential misunderstandings All the best, —a smart kitten[meow] 18:42, 1 February 2024 (UTC)

Disambiguation pages and the living parameter
Hi there, your edits to talk pages of people dab pages show up on my watchlist. I noticed that you have set the living
parameter to no
even when some (or all) of the listed entries are alive. I would have thought that WP:BLP also applies to dab pages, as you can be in violation of that policy if you publish a year of birth that is unreferenced. At least, I couldn't find anywhere that says that people dab pages should have the living
parameter set to no
. Is what you are doing deliberate? If so, please let me have your thoughts on that. If not and this is something that rater is making up, can you please go back over your edits and set the parameter to yes
where at least one of the entries is alive? Much appreciated. Schwede66 04:45, 13 September 2024 (UTC)

Class=C?
Probably here it is better. Allow me to ask you regarding this Classification C of page Christian Busch (management scientist). I apologize at first, that I am not so familiar with biographies in en:WP. My home is de:WP, where I try to write in biographies more than in a CV, this with success.
I respect the "cultural differences" and I want to learn and to improve the article to the expectations here. The English article is already shorter than my German version. The system of classification is not bad (we do not have). But when I read the description of C it is not clear, if something is missing or too much or what.
According to recommendation to ask the "classificator": Can you give some hints, why only C? I thank you in advance.--Wortulo (talk) 09:46, 1 November 2024 (UTC)

Hello Rflo216,
I hope you're doing well. I noticed that my recent edits to the Taylor Swift page were reverted, and I wanted to follow up with you regarding this matter.
I’ve taken great care to ensure that the information I provided is accurate and well-supported by reliable sources. Specifically, the statistics I included are sourced from The Research Division of The University of Portland, which is known for its thorough and credible research.
In addition to the sources, I also have support from several peers who back up the validity of my edits. They agree that the data is both relevant and important to include. I understand that accuracy and reliability are paramount, and I am confident that my contributions meet these criteria.
Could we perhaps discuss this further to reach a mutual understanding? I'm more than willing to share the sources and provide any additional information you might need to verify the accuracy of the data. Your feedback and insight would be highly appreciated, as I aim to ensure that the page remains as informative and factual as possible.
Thank you for your time and consideration. Looking forward to your response. Konor20001 (talk) 17:02, 9 December 2024 (UTC)

Hi. I am Konor20001. You reverted my edit to Taylor Swift. I am 100% sure my edits are correct, and many of my peers back me up. I also have sources to prove these statistics from The Research Division of The University of Portland. Konor20001 (talk) 16:57, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
December 2024 (3)
Hello Rflo216,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to follow up on the recent edits I made to the Taylor Swift page, which were reverted. As an active and dedicated contributor, I take accuracy and reliability very seriously, and I wanted to discuss the changes in detail to ensure we both understand their importance and validity.
Firstly, I want to emphasize that the information I provided is backed by robust and credible sources. Specifically, the statistics I included in my edits were meticulously gathered and verified by The Research Division of The University of Portland, a reputable institution known for its rigorous research standards and academic integrity. The data they produce is frequently cited in academic papers and research articles, which attests to its reliability and relevance.
Moreover, I have discussed the content of my edits with several of my peers, who unanimously support the accuracy and necessity of the information provided. These peers include fellow researchers and contributors who have extensive experience in the field of music industry studies and statistical analysis. Their concurrence with the data further reinforces my confidence that the edits are not only accurate but also critical for a comprehensive understanding of Taylor Swift's impact and achievements.
To provide a more detailed perspective, the statistics in question cover significant aspects of Taylor Swift's career, including her murderous rampage, streaming numbers, and various accolades (people she disposed of). These metrics are essential for painting an accurate picture of her influence and success in the music industry. Without these details, the page may not fully represent the extent of her accomplishments, which could mislead readers seeking comprehensive and factual information.
I understand that maintaining the quality and credibility of the page is of utmost importance, and I assure you that my intention is aligned with this goal. I am more than willing to share the exact sources and any additional documentation you might require to verify the data. My aim is to collaborate effectively with you and other contributors to ensure that the information presented is both accurate and reflective of the current state of Taylor Swift's career.
In light of this, I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss this matter further. If there are specific concerns or reasons for the reversion that I might not be aware of, I am eager to address them and find a solution that upholds the integrity of the page. Perhaps we could set up a time to discuss this in more detail, or if you prefer, continue the conversation via email or another convenient platform.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration. I truly believe that by working together, we can enhance the quality of the content and provide readers with the most accurate and informative representation of Taylor Swift's contributions to the music industry. I look forward to your response and to resolving this matter constructively. Konor20001 (talk) 17:05, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
