Yamagata (Band)
The page you deleted was not content that I added from any outside source, neither was it my own words, it was content already found on Wikipedia, it was simply on the Yamagata (Disambiguous) page so I moved it to the Yamagata (Band) page. All I did was copy and past from one Wikipedia page to another. Acglass (talk) 21:08, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
Delta Chi Lambda
Please, I am genuinely asking because I have no idea why. Why did you delete the page Delta Chi Lambda? There are over 100 pages on wikipedia about various sororities and fraternities. Some have no mission except for social reasons. They are all clubs as well. Delta Chi Lambda promotes Asian American awareness and leadership building. Is that so wrong? People deserve to know this organization exists at Univ. of Arizona. Please help me to see what I can do to make the page so that you guys wont delete it!!! Thanks.Mynewname123 (talk) 04:26, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
- The reason why has nothing to do with your soroity's mission. It has to do with the standards we have here on Wikipeida. Basically, you need to provide a third-party source to justify inclusion in Wikipedia based on our notability standards. For help in creating your article, I would suggest reading Wikipedia:Your first article and Wikipedia:Why was my page deleted?. Welcome to Wikipedia! We are glad to have you here. Honest. :) Vicenarian (T · C) 04:39, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
Thanks =) i'm happy to be here too LOL, but i was starting to feel "excluded" since my page kept getting deleted! I referenced some facts to a couple of websites. Is that not sufficient 3rd party source?Mynewname123 (talk) 05:00, 30 May 2009 (UTC)
User:1985MANAmericana Television Radio sock?
While checkuser evidence may prove me wrong, I think there is a very strong chance this new user is not a sock of Television Radio.
His unblock request is properly formatted (correct brackets), and has coherent spelling and grammar, all apparently outside of TV Radios skill set, as displayed by his previous edits. I also do not recall TV Radio ever creating a new article on his own in the past. If this is him, it's a new, unexpected twist in his tale, which has been fairly predictable in the past few months. This new user just doesn't seem to fit the previously established behavior pattern. I'd ask that, if possible, please checkuser this new editor against TV Radio, and unblock if he appears innocent. Reason for possible deletion of OneGlobal News Network article?
The information contained in this article is nearly identical to Yahoo! News, except we are not advertising every single service we offer like Yahoo does in their article. If you choose to delete our page, explain why you will not delete Yahoo! News.

- Please refer to the consensus on the Admin Reference Reliability board at http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard#Validity_of_Youtube_References - A youtube video not uploaded by an owner isn't reliable. See the Michael Richards (Kramer) TMZ issue as precedence, all Youtube videos were removed as references following the comedy club incident. Whether they are embedded on some blog or Myspace page is irrelevant, anyone can embed a doctored video and use it as a Youtube reference. I will gladly take this discussion to another Admin noticeboard for other Admin opinions. 74.248.89.150 (talk) 03:05, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

Why not maybe you or my family becomes sources
How can I get verifiable sources?
Do I need a reporter, family members, how can I make my information verifiable?
Could you verify a source or do I need to get somebody whos a third party to cite the source? —Preceding unsigned comment added by USWGO (talk • contribs) 04:01, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
Alright thank you
So I guess I need to cite my sources, my mom, grandma, and grandpa can verify for me, I don't really have a new agencies talking about me yet. I really don't have any friends to verify, I do have a birth certificate and other stuff, although I'm not sure if I should show something like that, how do I cite that I was born at the hospital, how can I prove I was at the mobile home?
I do have pictures of me at the mobile home and brick house I talked about on the wiki page. Should I include pictures and any newspapers I can find saying that a baby (me) was born at the hospital.
Would this be good enough? Family, pictures, and a newspaper somewhere in the house that says I was born at that hospital. —Preceding unsigned comment added by USWGO (talk • contribs) 04:13, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

More Move Help.
Hello again,
I just need some help in moving some articles around. After some discussion it was decided that Mark Martin (racecar driver) be moved to Mark Martin and that Mark Martin be moved back to Mark Martin (disambiguation). Is there a chance we can get this move completed? Thanks!--gordonrox24 (talk) 11:13, 26 May 2009 (UTC)
- Hey. No, it hasn't been done yet, but it has been done in the past. I think we are going to need to delete some pages. Mark Martin (disambiguation) is a redirect to Mark Martin. The DAB page will need to be deleted to make way for the Mark Martin article's content. Then we are going to need to delete the Mark Martin article so we can move the Mark Martin (racecar driver) into it's place. That is kind of confusing, hope it makes sense. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!--gordonrox24 (talk) 11:20, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

The dispute has escalated. (I will not name names because PMDrive1061 knows who I am talking about and if I am correct, this could be embarrassing to him.) On my talk page he has accused me of trolling, witch seems like a violation of Assume good faith to me, and on Wikipedia talk:External links#Is the external links symbol supposed to be on internal links? has posted, what may be a personal attack. I am not sure how to respond to this, and I would really like to get this misunderstanding cleared up. - Re your message: I only listed three accounts as that should be enough for locating his recent IPs. I didn't list all of the subaccounts created because in theory the underlying IPs on those should be the same and the CU should pick them up anyways. At one time or another, a CU had blocked several MG IPs. I'm wondering if the blocks expired. I lost track of the the blocks, so I can't check for sure. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 01:12, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Is that not what I'm asking for? =\ -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 01:38, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

You just deleted Puducherry Road Transport Corporation, I assume because it was marked with a db-copyvio tag. However, the article contained too little material to really have been a copyright violation. I believe the author was in the process of recreating a previously deleted article (possibly with the intention of rewriting it to avoid the copyvio), but left the copyvio tag in place by accident. I was about to remove the tag when I found the article had already been deleted. Is it possible to restore the article (possibly minus the tag) so that the author can have a chance at doing something with it? WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 15:46, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

I Sell The Dead
Since when do articles get speedied based solely on (I have to assume, since it's gone and no template was there a few minutes ago) alleged copyright violation of the synopsis? I tag much worse articles on a daily basis for speedies, and they invariably bet bounced back for PROD even with larger issues and less references. Just kinda annoying, speeking frankly. --Human.v2.0 (talk) 23:28, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
- My point is that recreating the article is a hell of a lot harder than rewording a deleted synopsis (largely based around my hoping that I still have the wikicode in my browser history). The combination of that, the fact that the article otherwise presented much notability, and the fact that it's one of the speediest speedy deletions I've recently seen (was it even tagged, or did you find it yourself?) is a bit irksome. Instead of a Speedy, you could have just as easily wiped the synopsis section with a not as to the rational. --Human.v2.0 (talk) 23:34, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
- I've restored what I can from simply my page view history. If you could restore it from the full code that would be nice, as it would be a few less steps involved to track down html links. Thanks. --Human.v2.0 (talk) 23:38, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Fink deletion
How is Donald G. Fink a case for A3 speedy? Any article consisting only of external links, category tags and "see also" sections, a rephrasing of the title, attempts to correspond with the person or group named by its title, chat-like comments, template tags and/or images. Since it did not have any of those things, it cannot consist solely of them, and is not therefore an A3 by definition. A3 also says: However, a very short article may be a valid stub if it has context, in which case it is not eligible for deletion under this criterion. The IEEE is possibly the most well known engineering society in the world and a past president is automatically notable for that alone. I am incredulous that this was deleted in 2 minutes without even a warning. You could at least give it a chance to develop. SpinningSpark 15:50, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
- Spark asked me about this deletion. I have restored the article as it does not, IMO, fit the criteria for A3. There is meaningful substantive material in the article. Namely that the guy was the president of a respected professional organization and that organization (descendents) have named an award after him. Those are both meaningful and substantive, that gives plenty of context as to who the guy was. Is it enough to save the article from AFD? No and in the current shape, it would probably fail an AFD, but just because an article (in its current shape) will fail an AFD does not make it a CSD candidate. Part of the reason for AFD is that it allows users the chance to salvage articles such as this one.---I'm Spartacus! NO! I'm Spartacus! 16:37, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
- It is very uncivil not to reply. SpinningSpark 18:37, 31 May 2009 (UTC)
- You wrote on my talk page;
- Exactly what is going on here? I saw that this was posted on my talk page re. a DYK and now I see this. I'm anything bu uncommunicative and I answer each and every concern leveled on my talk page. I seem to remember deleting a single sentence at one time; we now have a fine new article. So...what's the problem? --PMDrive1061 (talk) 15:19, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- You speedy deleted my article and I raised a concern on your talkpage. You did not reply. Spartacus undeleted it and made a post here. You did not reply to him either. The article was taken to AfD, you made no comment in the AfD debate. I made a further post above. Still no reply. How many replies do you have to not write before I am allowed to accuse you of being uncommunicative? The above is the first statement you have made, many days after the original problem (and I checked you had come back online before making any statements about your communication).
- You ask what's the problem?. The problem is that you are applying speedy delete to articles that you are not entitled to speedy delete. As explained above by Spartacus it does not meet the criteria, even though it was only a single sentence. Speedy is for a very narrowly defined (deliberately so) set of articles, anything else should go to AfD. I could also point out by way of showing how badly wrong you were on this one that the AfD was heading for a snow close even before the article was expanded. That is, AfD would have kept my one sentence.
- When you do this to a new user, they will probably walk away for ever and Wikipedia may well have lost a productive editor. It is only still there because I am an experienced user and know how to go about challenging this - but even so it took a deal of effort. Did you not read my edit summary and understand the reason for creating the page? Even if there had been grounds for speedy, 2 minutes is unreasonably fast - I could have a couple of paragraphs in the edit window waiting to save in that time. I think you should spend some time learning the rules properly.

- Alright, I ask because Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Andy Wisne (2nd nomination) has so far run for about six days, and the consensus looks pretty clear to me. If you decide to close it and delete the article, I would recommend putting it on your watch list, as the article creator is the subject of the article, and has recreated it in the past. Check out the AFD and see how many previous AFDs resulted in a delete as well.— Dædαlus Contribs 03:10, 31 May 2009 (UTC)

Take a look at the history of Hitohira no koi ga furu. Isn't the best deprod justification you've ever seen? *sigh* Vicenarian (T · C) 14:14, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, I know nothing about anime/manga... so I'd hate to start butting heads with fans full of endless knowledge. But "puffed" on WP does annoy me. Even with Stargate, of which I am a huge fan. Vicenarian (T · C) 14:32, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
- Oh no, you've engaged! Run away, run away! Vicenarian (T · C) 14:33, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
- I think that was a very good deprod justification. You clearly hadn't understood what the article was about when you prodded it, citing a policy that was irrelivant. There wasn't any original research in the article, just a plot summary of the work in question. By listing the wrong policy (as opposed to WP:N or WP:NOT#PLOT, which would have been reasonable things to mention), your prod would just confuse the new user who created the article. Anyway, I think for works by notable authors, redirecting to the author makes a lot more sense than deletion if you think the work isn't notable. Calathan (talk) 16:48, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- See, it would've been great had you put what you just said above (in summary form) in your DEPROD edit summary, or on the article talk page. That's a perfectly legitimate point of view, and a good reason to DEPROD; I don't always understand everything I nominate for deletion, and sometimes I make mistakes and use arguments that really don't apply, which is why I'm not the only one involved in deciding whether or not to delete a page. However, saying "really bad PROD justification" in the edit summary is (in my opinion) not very civil, suggests you are not assuming good faith on my part in nominating the article for PROD, and it gives me (and everyone else following the page) no clear idea as to why you object. Vicenarian (T · C) 17:09, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- It wasn't me who removed the prod (I just fixed the wikilinks and commented on the talk page that it wasn't a hoax). I guess I wasn't really correct when I said it was a "very good" deprod justification, as I would have certainly written more if I had removed the prod. I think what I meant was that it was an understandable deprod justification. I personally didn't find the deprod uncivil, and it hadn't occured to me that you might have found it uncivil. Still, I say it is understandable because it seemed like you didn't put much work into figuring out what the article was about before prodding it. I know that the wikilink to the author was broken, but I still think there was enough information to find the article for the author and tell that it was a work by a notable author, and not something the article creator had just made up. Calathan (talk) 17:27, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, you're right, it wasn't you who wrote that, my bad! No, I really just objected to the tone of the edit summary for the DEPROD - not to the DEPROD itself. If you look at WP:CIVIL, negative tone in an edit summary is one of the examples of a typical type of uncivil behavior. And you're right, I really should've done a little more homework before nominating; if I had, I would've seen that this was not an original story. But again, that's why there are thousands of us - to double-triple-quadruple-check everyone's work. :) I apologize for the misunderstanding. Vicenarian (T · C) 17:36, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

Keep Making the Tough Decisions

Your apology
Thank you, I accept your apology. The reason for mentioning the AfD was not so much to say you should have taken part but to point out that the AfD intended to keep the article while still a single sentence. The speedy was undoubtedly wrong, since it would have survived an AfD. If there is any possibility an article might survive AfD it should not be speedied. From the speedy deletion policy;
- Administrators should take care not to speedy delete articles except in the most obvious cases. If a page has survived a prior deletion discussion, it should not be speedy deleted except for newly discovered copyright violations. Contributors sometimes create articles over several edits, so administrators should avoid deleting a page that appears incomplete too soon after its creation.

Your speedy deletion of La Niñera (Mexicana)
Hi, I think this was incorrect in two ways. First, it was nominated as patent nonsense, which it clearly was not, and I had declined the request on those grounds. Second, and more importantly, a quick google search indicates that this is not a hoax, but a legitimate subject:[3]. I ask you please to undo your deletion, and instead refer it to AfD if you think it not notable enough for inclusion. (BTW, my only association with this article was to decline the SD request and then do some cleanup work.) LadyofShalott 00:49, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for being responsive! I'll try to add some sources (or at least EL) that show it's not a hoax. I don't speak Spanish though, so I hope someone will add better refs as appropriate. LadyofShalott 01:06, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

This is kind of an ambiguous term. What exactly does it mean? The reason for my question is that I am interested in becoming a trainee clerk at wikipedia:sockpuppet investigations and the only requirements are "Users in good standing may ask any current clerk (who will serve as the trainee's coach) to be a trainee clerk, and will simply be accepted due to supply and demand". Hi. Just want to inform you that Jacques is back again. This time, he is using IP socks to revert the same article he is vandalizing to his desired version (the one with overboldfaced titles and unverified "upcoming" shows). Please assist. Thanks. -danngarcia (talk) 07:24, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the quick response. Sure, you can semi-protect the article since that guy is using a dynamic ISP and he can have a new IP address at any given time. But I have to disagree that this user is a sock of User:Gerald Gonzalez. Gerald and Jacques have very different editing styles. Gerald edits any articles related to Angel Locsin (an ABS-CBN talent, a rival TV network of GMA Network) and Jacques mostly edit the List of programs broadcast by GMA Network article or any article that relates to GMA Network programs. -danngarcia (talk) 09:11, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

If you get a chance, can you tell me who created the deleted article Www.rusemusic.com? Thanks. :)
Oh, let me ask you a question. Let's say I run across a user page that has a "This user is an administrator/account creator/rollbacker/checkuser/etc. on the English Wikipedia" and I click "verify" and it turns out they're not; am I being a dick to remove the user box? Should I just let it go? Thanks again, t'shael mindmeld 21:31, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm, okay. Thanks for your timely response, as always. No one that I know of is impersonating an admin, but I have, in the past come across users with userboxes saying that they are rollbackers/account creators when they're really not. I agree that users impersonating sysops or checkusers should be reported to AN/I, not so sure that users with fake account creator/rollbacker boxes should as they can't really do anything except create similar accounts and rollback edits. I'm probably just being too anal about the whole issue. Thanks again:) t'shael mindmeld 22:53, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

I'm sorry to annoy you again, but I just want to upload the right thing. I was covered by media once, on the international russian channel (RTVI), which broadcasts also for US. This was a reportage about car accidents in Israel, so they asked me and my partner about our contribution to society. The question is, how I can proove it? The second time was when Rober and Kim Kiyosaki at first came to Israel and pressmans took pictures when we shake hands and hug one another in VIP section, but I don't think it's relevant, what do you think?

Newpreneur help
Hi PMDrive1061,
I am trying to post the term Newpreneur on Wikipedia and it has been taken down twice for being overly promotional. I do not wish it to be promotional at all but I would like the word to be posted becasue I feel it is important. I was thinking that the following would be less promotional and 100% accurate. I would appreciate any help or guidance you can give me.
The term Newpreneur™ was first used by business guru Tom Peters in 2009 to define a new breed of entrepreneurs who are using the recession as a catalyst to start a business or develop an idea. Newpreneurs are innovative thinkers who take their businesses to the next level and seize each opportunity with passion and ambition by relying on a combination of emerging technologies, trusted resources and successful mentors.
Below are a few articles that the term has appeared in recently:

Just to be clear, the term Newpreneur is a word that can never be posted on the site? Even with a definition that is not promotional? I guess I don't understand exactly why. After The Ordeal
Hey there, just logged on to find that our page has been deleted. We're mentioned on the download festival page because we won the red bull bedroom jam competition, surely we should allowed a wikipeida page if we've been mentioned on the download page. We won a competition and have been on another wikipedia page, now because of this deletion we are the only band on that page on the main stage without a page. What can be done to resolve this issue? Thanks-—Preceding unsigned comment added by AfterTheOrdeal (talk • contribs) 16:15, 12 June 2009
Thanks man, I just dunno how basically on anything wikipedia works is all lol. We got mentioned on the download festival article thingy and saw that we were the only band without an article on the main stage, just thought making one was the sensible option. Thanks again, hopefully that exposure will help us out. —Preceding unsigned comment added by AfterTheOrdeal (talk • contribs) 20:26, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

Also, how do I set up auto-email notifications for responses?

Robin Young (record producer)
I am the author of this article. He is my favorite young Chinese music producer. i am not a expert in wikipedia. but pages should not be deleted because I not an experienced editor. You said you only found one link to this person. This is completely false with a heavy western bias. Please remember that China now has more internet users than America. Please see link

Yes I may need some help. Were you able to follow the link. His credits absolutely do adhere to the criteria you linked me to. However it is mostly in Chinese. I do not mean western bias in a negative way, I am trying to help bridge the gap.
Jjwang88 (talk) 16:01, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
Once the verification is complete will i need to rewrite the article? Can you also help me with formatting. I was initially trying to make it simple and work on it more when I am more familiar with the wiki.
Jjwang88 (talk) 16:34, 14 June 2009 (UTC)
Also, this individual is a bit mysterious. He goes by several different pen names. I've managed to find 3 of them, but I'm sure there are more. Guess that makes it even harder to verify. Any tips you can give me on how to become a better editor is much appreciated.

67.68.33.90 is probably him too, since both IPs locate to the same part of Ontario and have edited Phil Mickelson which is a target of that user's vandalism and would not normally be expected to draw the interest of editors from Ontario other than SGF. This is just a hunch though, and an SPI would probbaly turn up nothing of interest since the IP's are quite far apart. Soap Talk/Contributions 04:29, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
Debra Winger page
When I was still new to wikipedia I ended up making two versions of the page for the film Mikes Murder. Because of this mix up it was somehow worked out that 'blatant copyright infringement ' had occurred when it hadnt. Now if you click on Mikes Murder in the filmography section of the Debra Winger page it says page does not exist. It 100% does exist. If you go to the wikipedia page for Hooked and click on Mikes Murder you will see this page. Please could you change it on the debra winger page so that it isnt a red link but goes to the page on the Mikes Murder film. It is your name that appears on the explanation that copyright infringement has occurred and it's frustrating. Sayerslle (talk) 13:29, 19 June 2009 (UTC)

Rangeblocks
[4] Do you think a rangeblock is warranted? How would I figure out the proper range to block and how many IPs would be affected? Thanks, Enigmamsg 04:52, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
- I think it's worth considering a rangeblock, but I've never performed one and I'm not familiar with how to determine collateral damage. Enigmamsg 04:57, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
- You'll have to consult a checkuser to see how active the range is. –xenotalk 21:11, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
- As with the thread below, a long rangeblock is probably overkill, but short ones (hour or two) could probably slow this person down. I see they mainly seem to be interested in Laird, though, so semiprot might be enough. – Luna Santin (talk) 20:38, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

He hit again today as 75.75.127.0 (talk · contribs) and Lalayaya (talk · contribs). He hit some of the same group of articles as yesterday, so may need to extend protection a little more. *sigh* -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 21:05, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
- Him vandalizing the article once is not justification to protect the article for six months, in my opinion. I declined them at WP:RfPP. Skylab's little chicken vandalized Girl Got Game only once. Enigmamsg 21:08, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, and earlier socks vandalized it half a dozen times. You mat not think its justification, but right now its the only thing that even slows him down. Its one of his sick little ways of getting my attention. See also Wikipedia:Long term abuse#Bambifan101. FYI, this appears to be a new IP range he is on for extra fun. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 21:17, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
- A rangeblock attempt would be more effective than protecting articles. Otherwise, he'll just keep hitting different articles and get hundreds protected. Enigmamsg 21:45, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
- Rangeblocks have been tried, but some IPs thus far rangeblocks have been refused because of collateral damage. I'd much rather see every one of his ranges blocks and he just get stopped, but no one wants to do that. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 00:16, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
- Enigmaman asked me to take a look at this and the above thread. A long rangeblock on 75.75.64.0/18 would cause collateral damage, unfortunately. Could try short ones, each time they turn up -- an hour or two, maybe. When they do turn up as an IP on that range, I recommend hardblocking rather than soft. – Luna Santin (talk) 20:36, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

SO glad I missed the "fun"
Saw your messages...I had to stay off this weekend and just relax -- I had been having dreams (or nightmares, rather) of editing vandalism! That's got to be one of the first signs of turning crazy, right? Ha. Well, it was a restful weekend, but I guess it's time to get back to reality. *sigh* Thanks for all your hard work this weekend -- as usual! Cactusjump (talk) 16:56, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
- LOL, I don't know, I think dreaming you improved this article to awesome, FA level standards, thne waking up and finding it is the same is just as bad. Though, sadly, I have also had dreams of editing vandalism and woke up feeling the need to go check, just in case :P -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 17:09, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
- LOL. Besides the nightmares, I've often found myself demanding citations from friends when they tell me idle gossip. "Oh yeah--What's your reference??" But I have to admit that I've become a better editor thanks to our wonderful little friend. I've been more determined than ever to do better research and maintain a neutral point of view. ...And Collectonian, you, as well, always do a great job! Cactusjump (talk) 18:59, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Be nice if contribs viewing could be locked to established editors too LOL. Good Afternoon:
Dear Ralph,
I am interested in project rehab. I admit that I was making a lot of nonsensical edits but my English has improved to the point where I can communicate more clearly, and have mentally matured to the point where I no longer feel the need to get a rise out of others through nonsense posting. However, when I return to Wikipedia I am greeted with derision and secret checkusers. Why am I banned anyway? Please look at my latest contributions [5] and tell me if I'm a good candidate for rehab. I really enjoy editing Wikipedia and I feel I can add a lot to the community spirit. PilotMaker66 (talk) 18:51, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Take a look at this? Two SPAs voting at the AfD, and then an IP vandalized my talk page for sending this to AfD. I was going to G3 tag it, but since a double PROD was contested, I sent to AfD. -SpacemanSpiff (talk) 04:57, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
- Thx as always. I'm just amazed at the number of hoaxes that are lying around freely in WP. Two weeks ago, I Afded a couple of poets, only contribution by the creator. One was born in Sweden and lives in Arkansas, another born in Switzerland and lives in CA, both born same year, same day, different month. And both pages were around for more than a year, so, many of the mirror sites picked them up as well. -SpacemanSpiff (talk) 17:54, 27 June 2009 (UTC)

I don't know if this makes a difference
...but the user you blocked named Theworldiscruel is most likely a sock of User:Sexualityisimportant. He/she has been trying to add this kind of plot summary to Sleeping Beauty (1959 film) with references of female body parts for some time. They have also been known to hit Scooby-Doo (film) with how cute one of the character's sneezes are. Theworldiscruel has similar contribs. I've already reported Sexualityisimportant three times for sockpuppetry. Now that they're blocked, I guess it makes no difference, but I thought I'd tell you so that it could be added to your list of strange people to watch out for. Oy vey. Wow- where do I start? 1. instructions on new pages state to create a new article on ones user page before pushing the article live. 2. personal attacks? If you are referring to the word "ignorance" I simply redirect your attention to the true meaning of the work, from Webster's Dictionary that "lack of knowledge" regarding the subject covered in my article. After all, how can one person know everything? I do not see this as a personal attack at all, nor was it intended as such.3. Conflict of interest? Again, another assumption on the editors.... 25johnpizza (talk) 18:55, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

I need administrative help!
Could you take a look at this page's history, Gem paul. It was nominated for deletion, par WP:ISNOT#MEMORIAL (look at the discussion page), and was up for over 7 days, but an IP removed the tag. It's not notable at all, and the references are apparently articles written by the deceased, so, er..., well you know what I mean. Basically, I'm asking you to delete it.
P.S. I'm going to bed so I'll respond tomorrow. Spongefrog, (talk to me, or else) 21:22, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
Can you (or one of your talk page watchers) take a look? I did a redirect from this page to Amazon.com after merging the one sentence that is actually verifiable by third party sources, but an IP reverted it citing alexa ranking of 1700 in the US (it's about 7.5K worldwide). I'm struggling to find any RS refs for this other than the fact that it's a sister site of Amazon started in 2007. I'd hate to waste time on this at an AfD where the outcome is most likely going to be Merge to Amazon (which is done as far as content goes). Candidate for a protected redirect? Alternately, if I'm proven wrong in terms of RS sources, I'll be happy too. -SpacemanSpiff (talk) 01:34, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
Needlz
Hi there PMDrive1061, you recently deleted Needlz per being deleted by discussion in the past. I had originally planned to take it to WP:DRV before creating it, but the instructions there (third paragraph) encouraged me to be bold, and I was. I would like to ask you to review the articles—the version I created is substantially better than the version that was deleted in 2008, as my version was expanded and was cited with independent reliable sources, including Allmusic, Remix Magazine, New York Post and MTV News. I feel it meets the criteria for inclusion and hope you take another look. Regards. — Σxplicit 04:56, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Replacing prod tags
Hi! It seems that you replaced a prod tag that someone had removed on the Islam in the Pitcairn Islands page (here). Please note that the deletion policy explicitly forbids restoring removed prod tags – instead, the article should be brought to AfD if you still think that it should be deleted. (I've now listed the article at AfD, see above.) Also note that your edit seems to have removed a reference from the article, which probably wasn't your intention. FYI, I removed the G4 speedy deletion tag from the article in question as I was (and in principle still am) unhappy with an incomplete AfD (it was speedied before a decision was made) being used to justify a G4. As stated on Collectonian's talk page I was always happy with a G5 and from my quick reading round what's happened overnight (I'm in the UK) I'm happy with this being a G5 despite it being slightly unusual. To clarify my question, even though a e-mail sending account is not listed under WP:Legitimate uses of alternative accounts I doubt the community would have a problem with me having e-mail sending account. I'm just asking to be on the safe side.--Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 16:13, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
- Well, even if you create a separate account, your email address will still be revealed when you email other users from that account. And creating a legitimate alternate account without declaring it as such is generally frowned upon. But, in general, you are welcome to create a declared alternate account for any non-abusive purpose. WP:SOCK#LEGIT isn't all inclusive - if you have an alternate account for reasons not listed there, so long as it is not for sockpuppetry, I doubt anyone will object. Cheers, Vicenarian (Said | Done) 16:25, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
- Of course I'd declare the alternate account. My e-mail address would not be revealed if I did not enter it into my alt. account.--Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 16:40, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm. I'm not sure if you can email other users if you do not specify an email address in your preferences. I may be wrong, though, and I can't find any documentation either way... Vicenarian (Said | Done) 16:49, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi PMDrive,
You have just deleted my article, "Sydney Discus World" for the reason (A3: Article that has no meaningful, substantive content). Hi,
I was trying to create an article about record producer Izzy Gold, whose credentials include George Clinton, Wu Tang Clan, Ashlee Simpson among many others. Izzy Gold is an established and well-covered guy. I was wondering if there was anything I could do to keep the article on Wikipedia. Wikipedia entries are new to me and I am not very good in html.

LTA | BF101
Hey, I'm almost to the point of processing your abuse report on BF101, and was wondering if all the information was on Wikipedia:LTA/BF101? I'm going to submit all the information regarding this vandal, and probably remain in contact with the ISP for a while. So far, Most of the information is found at Wikipedia:LTA/BF101, but is there any other place where I can find information?
On a different but related topic...
I don't exactly think Wikipedia:LTA/BF101 fits with WP:DENY. These LTA pages are basically creating a "shrine" to these vandals. (quoted from someone else). Even though this isn't on their talk pages, there's still entire pages dedicated to investigating them. They most likely want attention and recognition of their impact, and LTA pages are giving just that. What are your view on that? Netalarm 23:04, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Can the messages be made more specific please?
I just added an article on Himalayan Dolpo Healing Project with the aim of getting more visibility for this charity project.
However, it got deleted stating it has copyright infringement. This is all well and good but this is my very first article and the message did not tell me where the problem was. It is only when I added the article for the second time after removing Google Map reference that you explained what the problem was. A clearer explanation of the problem may have avoided wasting your time and my time. Please consider the fact that not everyone in this world is a Wiki Guru.

I would like to correct the entry for the independent film, The Prankster.
To my knowledge, the entry followed the standard entries for other films such as "Funny People".
You sited A7 as the reason for deletion - but to my knowledge the entry dealt with the film and as mentioned, followed the entries for other feature film products.

ANI fuss
I don't see what the fuss is behind Willyonwheels1969. Willy doesn't mean penis, does it???? Is this objection "willy (penis)" and 69?
FYI, F stands for Finland, not fuck. If there is some hidden meaning that I am unaware of, sorry! User F203 (talk) 19:45, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
... This guy just wrote a letter of apology to himself on his latest IP page. I and another admin had explained that the name "Willy on Wheels" or any variation thereof was unacceptable as being the name of a banned user, yet he kept on with threats of "complaining to the Foundation" among other things. In short, he's another WoW copycat with a new angle, this time as a troll instead of page move vandalism.
- If this is true, I would think the most convincing action would be based on his unconstructive apology. That would be an action based on the other person's deeds. I haven't seen the apology but I'll take your word on it.
- If we complain based on a name we don't like, we must be careful to use that reason only in the worst cases. If the user is constructive, we might suggests alternatives, such as Willy1969 or WillyW1969. Surely, we should not take the other extreme and ban the name Willy because that would be an insult to William WP users. Does PM stand for post-menapausal? That's not a reason for banning! Creatureking...
I believe the indefinite block of Creatureking is inappropriate at this time.
- Creatureking is admittedly the same person as Captaincold, however in order to be a sockpuppet the accounts must be used for fraudulent, disruptive, or deceptive purposes. I tried very hard to find any evidence of this so I could get the user blocked from Wikipedia (he was a thorn in my side) and couldn't find any. It appears that Captaincold stopped editing and Creatureking started editing. There's no overlap. There's no fraud or deception, and there's no disruption based on the two accounts (the user was inherently disruptive to begin with).
- Creatureking seemed to be in the process of rehabilitation.
- After a three-day block, he wrote on my talk page: "I noticed that you blocked me from wikkipedia for three days. I would appreaciate it if you stop blocking me. ... Please just let me write the Space Ghost wikkipedias. By the way I am a sock pupet of User: Captaincold." Note that while he claims to be a sock puppet, I believe he's actually a novice user and doesn't understand the exact connotation of sockpuppetry. Evidence shows he is not a sockpuppet.
- Following this comment, I wrote an impassioned plea on his talk page: "I'm not sure Wikipedia is what you think it is. ... Any information added to Wikipedia should be published elsewhere, either on the Internet or in some other media. Wikipedia has a policy against the addition of "Original Research", which you can read here: WP:OR. This is why Wikipedians make copious use of citations, which are documented here: WP:CITE. Also, in order to be included as an article, all subjects must meet certain notability requirements, which are documented here: WP:N. You are very welcome to add information with sources ... You were ostensibly blocked from Wikipedia for three days for doing this, and if you persist in doing this, the next block will likely be for longer. Ultimately, if you persist to act against Wikipedia community consensus decisions, you will likely be blocked from editing Wikipedia period. ... I beg you. Please learn how to ... properly use citations. Please stop going against community consensus, and instead work with us. If you can do these things, you'll be very welcome here. If you choose not to, your work will perpetually be undone and eventually you will no longer be able to edit Wikipedia. I really don't want this to happen. I hate blocking users and causing users to be blocked, however I also hate it when users choose to ignore warnings and not communicate or, worse, insist that their way is the only way, despite existing community consensus to the contrary. Be a good sport. Be an honorable editor. If you do, you'll receive nothing but praise from me. Right now, you only have my consternation, because I now have to go back and revert your 'work'."
- Shortly afterward, I received this reply: "I'm sorry for creating bad wikkipedias. I will stop re-creating wikkipedias about the Space Ghost and Brak show charecters , and will create wikkipedias about diffrent stuff. Thanks for being nice about this." It seemed like he was going to start turning over a new leaf, and possibly begin to actually comprehend how Wikipedia functions.
- Since that edit, reviewing the user's contributions shows that he has not taken any additional actions warranting a block. He may still need additional guidance, but I think he'll listen if you try to talk to him.
In short, I believe a block, especially an indefinite block, is unjustified and premature. Do you have any further evidence for consideration? — X S G 06:22, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
- I'm torn too. It's clear that Creatureking needs a lot of coaching to become a successful editor, and I'm not presently in a position to assist him more than just pointing to policies. I don't think Creatureking is deserving of another block, however I also know that his persistent good-faith edit attempts have a 100% reversion rate and that he just fails to "get it". I don't think he's ESL, I just think he's slow to grasp Wikipedia's fundamentals. If Wikipedia had a home for wayward children, I'd suggest he belongs there. If it doesn't, I'm as torn as you are. I wouldn't want to be responsible for blocking someone undeserving, but at the same time I'd feel bad about creating more work for people, cleaning up the mess. In your response, it sounded like you were insistent that Creatureking is a sock puppet, as in he attempted to disrupt Wikipedia by using both accounts. That would sway me toward indefinite blocking, if you can back it up. I just don't see it in the contributions, though. Could you elaborate on this? — X S G 18:49, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Redirects
Would you please review the redirects I made on August 10. There are to many to review each one individually, but there only a few types of redirects, so you can probably review each type individually. I was creating allot of redirects of those types, so it's probably best to make sure those types are good redirects before continuing to create them.--Emmette Hernandez Coleman (talk) 22:25, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
- The types are:
- Coptic Pope redirects, for example redirecting Pope Demetrius II to Pope Demetrius II of Alexandria. There is no Catholic Pope Demetrius II, so if somebody searches for it they are looking for Pope Demetrius II of Alexandria
- Pope to Antipope redirects, for example redirecting Pope Paschal III to Antipope Paschal III. Acording to List of Popes, there is no Pope Paschal III, so if somebody searches for "Pope Paschal III" he is looking for Antipope Paschal III, or has the number wrong.
- No number Antipope redirects, for example redirecting Antipope Honorius to Antipope Honorius II. According to List of antipopes and Template:Antipopes, Honorius II is the only Antipope Honorius.
- Aberration redirects, for example redirecting V.V.V. to VVV. These kinds are like that A.S.A. redirect.
- Roman numeral redirects, for example redirecting TSII to TS2. I was not sure whether or not these would be useful, so I created them to be on the safe side.

Hi there; this user got caught in an autoblock you applied in usernameblocking user:Sdcfhkbshvjhidvdi. I made the assumption that failing to disable the autoblock in a username block was an oversight, and disabled it. If I was wrong then please let me know and accept my apology. --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 08:46, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
Research before deletion of Fungi article
I wonder could you elaborate on what research you did before you deleted the Fungi the Dingle Dolphin page? I presume you wouldn't delete a page before at least doing a google search?
Thanks Pnelnik (talk) 09:31, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- I would apreciate it if you could have allowed at the very least a few days of discussion as to whether the original article should remain or be deleted. No discussion has taken place thus far. From the first time it was suggested that the original article should be deleted until the final deletion just 16 minutes were given, it was some time after 2am in my time-zone and alas I was asleep.
- Further, I'd welcome contributions to the discussion as to whether the original article should remain. The question is how note-worthy are the articles about Fungi in The Irish Independent [11], The Irish Times [12]? How important is it that Fungi has been mentioned on both the BBC [13] web-site and the New York Times[14]? Is it relevant that RTE [15] has broadcast a documentary about Fungi.
- Also a google search for fungi dingle dolphin gives over 11,000 hits.

Vivekananda College
Hi there,
This is about an article I started to write about my school - Vivekananda College Colombo -which you proposed to delete.
Dont get me wrong. I am not trying to be smart but i notice there are other article in the main web space such this - http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/St_Benedict%27s_College_Colombo - (about another school from the same area). As you could see it has little content in it. I am not sure how it made its way to the main space if one criteria to get into to the main web space is to have lot more contents just like you suggested to my article about my school.
I am quite certain that my article will definetely have more contents, links, and information than this one. I have no problems in developing the article in my space and publishing it in the main space. But this is just to point out. Sorry this has gotten too long than i wanted it to. :) Rajesh.manirajan (talk) 13:11, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Bambifan Alert
He has edited under this User talk:64.231.11.242. Check this out 16. I told User:Javert about this and he didn't do anythig. THe IP was blocked but the block expired. I believe that this should be indefinately blocked and labeled as his sockpuppet. At first, I didn't know much about this user but I did some research. He's crazy--look at his recent sockpuppets 17. I also read this 18 and figured this is one unusual vandal. Bewst if the account be blocked before it does any damage though it has been quiet recently. It is intresting when you are dealing with a vandal with this history. If there is anything I can to to help with this---please tell me. I'd like to be part of any work trying to stop this vandal for it is intresting and I come across similar stuff when using Huggle. Cheers,SchnitzelMannGreek. 21:12, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- Thank You but can you please email me your email for I lost it. If you don't want to, just tell me although I don't see why not;)SchnitzelMannGreek. 00:41, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

Roses and Blooms deletion
Hey I was just working on creating a wikipedia page for Roses and Blooms and you deleted it within seconds. The page being created is unbiased and is simply giving information about a store that has been a center of its area for years. It seems very unfair to just delete this immediately, it seems very unlikely that it was given the proper time and reading. If there are any specific reasons it was deleted, let me know, but I can not see any.

Something to try since nothing else works
You probably know more than anyone about your friend on here and I do know about the autism but I wonder if Reverse psychology would help. I came up with the idea when I read your comment to this account telling him to go away but saw that less that only many hours ago he came back with more accounts. As you know, this is Derek's sixth year on Wikipedia (he must be one of Wikipedia's oldest threats) and every time someone tries to get rid of him, he keeps coming back.
Yes, he is autistic and yes, nothing else has worked but maybe next time if you encourage him to stay he will choose otherwise and decide to quit what he is doing. It's just an idea and I don't know how good it would be but wouldn't it be good to try just about anything to make him miss out upon reaching his 5th Wikibirthday next month? --The LegendarySky Attacker 00:25, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Most people probably don't care, that is true, but I care. I've actually run into a few of his "Greatest Chases" accounts myself when working on articles and I have reached a desire to get rid of him as soon as possible. I'm not an admin so I can't tag and bag myself and I didn't start editing Wikipedia until 2008, so I haven't been around for the most part of his history on here but if there is anything that I could possibly do to help out, I'd be glad to do it. Let's do whatever we can to make MascotGuy an identity of the past.--The LegendarySky Attacker 00:55, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
If you've been to Fashion Valley, San Diego do you live in the area? Because if so, you could try to meet him and his family in person. Wikipedia also has access to his mother's email adress. Perhaps another conversation with her would be useful.--The LegendarySky Attacker 01:17, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

Can you restore article.
You just deleted an article on Icy Moral. She does seem to have some notability and I was trying to wikify the article and fix the references. A more approprite venue would be prod or afd as it claims notability, which is all it has to in order to pass csd. ThanksHell In A Bucket (talk) 15:12, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
- It's no where near copy edited but now the refs show up as they should. Where did you note copyright problems?Hell In A Bucket (talk) 15:38, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
- I have most of the unsourcable claims out. Please review and let me know what you think.Hell In A Bucket (talk) 17:16, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
