License tagging for Image:Marvel legends logo.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Marvel legends logo.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:07, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Marvel legends logo.gif

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Marvel legends logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:10, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the Yamagata (band) article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question at the "Help Desk". You can also leave a message on my talk page. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 03:18, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

REPLY: It was already content on Wikipedia, it was simply on the Yamagata (Disambiguous) page so I moved it to the Yamagata (Band) page. All I did was copy and past from one Wikipedia page to another.

Hi again. If that was already on a Wikipedia page, it was extremely self-promotional at best. My suggestion would be to start from scratch following the guidelines at WP:BAND. Good luck and have fun! --PMDrive1061 (talk) 22:39, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Self-promotional sounds right to me, glad it wasn't mine. Acglass (talk) 19:36, 2 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of List of Songs in Aebersold's "Play-A-Long" series

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article List of Songs in Aebersold's "Play-A-Long" series, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Incomplete list of questionable value as an encyclopedic article.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as on Talk:The Smashing Pumpkins, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. JD554 (talk) 19:58, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article Rhapsody (scorewriter) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article does not assert notability

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
