Hi Matr4x-404! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Vivaldi (web browser) that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Arbitration pages
Hi Matr1x-101. You've recently been editing Arbitration Committee decisions directly. Those decisions may only be edited by a member or clerk of the Arbitration Committee acting pursuant to Committee vote or other exception. I have therefore reverted your last edit and ask that you refrain from doing so. Best, KevinL (aka L235 · t · c) 23:04, 2 December 2022 (UTC)

- @Guerillero Hi, I don't understand the problem with minor edits like this. Could you please explain? Thanks! {userpage! | talk!} 23:18, 2 December 2022 (UTC)
- I mean, after all, Wikipedia isn't a beaurocracy. {userpage! | talk!} 23:20, 2 December 2022 (UTC)
- Those pages are meant to be an accurate reflection of the decision voted on by the Arbitration Committee. Every edit made to those pages is reported to dozens of editors (arbitrators and arbitration clerks). If the edit is important, it needs to be approved by the Committee. If not, it isn't worth making. These edits fall in the latter category. Best, KevinL (aka L235 · t · c) 23:21, 2 December 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:RPlace 2023 Protests on Canvas.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Declined Revdel for Mohammed Berrada
I have declined the revdel request for Mohammed Berrada primarily because it looks like the material is likely derived from Wikipedia. But the request you made is also confusing. You flagged this for revdel, but there is no edit removing the copyright material, and the ranges you specify don't appear to correspond the introduction of copyrighted material for the starting revision nor its removal in the ending revision. Have I missed something? -- Whpq (talk) 14:25, 5 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Whpq: the edit after the range does some copyediting and removes the (alleged) copyvio. But yeah, now that I look at [1], some of the suggestions at the bottom were published way after the alleged copyvio, so the source probably copied Wikipedia. My bad. — MATRIX! Edits
Please revert as i have added summaries while clearing mumbai team page, similar of my long term indian sports edit pattern. At least if new user, should have proper understanding of english and reading, before destroying hard effort, i guess of topics you never heard about. Lastly, any next time similar thing is seen, no warning report will go. 93.140.98.107 (talk) 19:56, 11 December 2023 (UTC)
- @93.140.98.107: Please use a more descriptive edit summary, rather than "Never edited, useless". In particular, explain why it was useless, you can choose to do so on the talk page to avoid unnecessary drama. Also, maintain civility to avoid blocks (avoid comments like "learn to read english properly and stop destroying someone's hard effort"), after all Wikipedia is a community! — MATRIX! Regarding File:Ignatyevo.jpg
In response to your help request, I deleted the page, as that was the only way to get around without using revdel, and I can't undelete the actual file. Once you upload the image again, it should be possible to transfer the file to Commons. I'm just cross-posting here in case the file talk page gets deleted before you upload a new file (though I left a note saying not to delete it). Complex/Rational 21:23, 24 December 2023 (UTC)
Rev-del request at File:Mirza Ahmad Ispahani.jpg
Regarding your rev-del request at File:Mirza Ahmad Ispahani.jpg, non-free versions of images in the file history should be tagged with {{Orphaned non-free revisions}} rather than {{Copyvio-revdel}} which is meant for text copyrights. The easiest way to tag an image for non-free revisions is to use Twinkle. Cheers. -- Whpq (talk) 18:41, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
- @Whpq: but isn't Template:Orphaned non-free revisions only for images explicitly tagged as non-free (i.e. those with a rationale and everything)? Indeed, Twinkle says "fair use media with old revisions that need to be deleted" on the side. So does the template documentation. This image was tagged as free, so I used Template:Copyvio-revdel. Besides, I see no indication that {{Copyvio-revdel}} is meant for articles only. Please bear with me if I'm missing sometimes painfully obvious! — MATRIX! (a good person!)[Citation not needed at all; thank you very much] 20:26, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
- The situation you came across is not very common, so maybe using either method is okay. Although the documentation states the orphan non-free revisions is for non-free, it would be usable for this case. As for copyvio-revdel, the whole template is set up to deal with text copyright violations. After looking this, I guess that using either template would be okay since this is on odd and unusual situation. Cheers. -- Whpq (talk) 13:43, 31 October 2023 (UTC)
- As I stated on my talk page (for the same situation), according to WP:NFC non-free includes fully-copyrighted images. We should use image tags for images and text tags for text. Primefac (talk) 17:41, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
- @Primefac: I don't know what you're saying. There are two types of images in the licensing sense: free and non-free. Non-free images are images with non-free rationales that should use Template:Orphaned non-free revisions to remove old revisions. That's not relevant.
- Freely licensed images (of which there are at least 100,000 on enwiki) should use Template:Copyvio-revdel if they are overwritten with copyright violations. If the case is unclear, it should be raised to Copyright problems for text or FFD for files. Template:Copyvio-revdel is not a tag for only text, it can be applied to text or images. Though in practice, Template:Orphaned non-free revisions is preferred for non-free files. Cheers, — MATRIX! (a good person!)[citation unneeded] 18:28, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
- If I'm being honest, this is not really something we should waste other editors' time with. But feel free to bring this up to VPT or some place like that if we can't come to some sort of consensus. Cheers, — MATRIX! (a good person!)[citation unneeded] 13:36, 31 December 2023 (UTC)

Nowrap in signature
Hi Matrix. The nowrap in your signature causes issues in mobile because of how long the signature is compared to the typical width of a phone. See WP:NOWRAP ("will prevent breaks even when the line is too long for the window, forcing the user to scroll").
For example, you can view Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2024 January 27 on a phone or just consider the illustration below.
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Rollback
Hi Matrix. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:
- Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or Ultraviolet. It just adds a [Rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision - that's all. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the rights will be revoked.
- Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Fastily 04:05, 10 February 2024 (UTC)

File review
Hello! Thank you for reviewing the files from the City of Auburn. As the email contained information stating that all images on the site are public domain, would I need to have that permission emailed to VRT each time, or is there some way that a template could be made that indicates that it is from the City of Auburn, and is therefore public domain? Yoblyblob (Talk) :) 01:22, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
- @Yoblyblob: I've gone ahead and created a template on Commons to show the PD situation. I'll transfer the files you've uploaded to Commons when I have time. In the future, please upload freely licensed files to Commons as there they can be used on multiple wikis, and are more accessible. If you want to upload more images from the City of Auburn, please add the template c:Template:PD-Auburn to the permissions section. —Matrix(!) {user - talk? -

Orphan files
Hi! I noticed that you had a suggestion related to orphan files with a keep local but that it did not seem to be supported. However, there seems to be concensus that files with a keep local can be deleted if uploader is no longer active. Example Wikipedia:Files_for_discussion/2024_April_24#File:4-cube_4^4.png. It seems that a PROD may be prefered to a FFD but I do not know if it is in all cases or just if uploader had many files. --MGA73 (talk) 08:13, 5 May 2024 (UTC)

a neutral point of view, is an opinion. It’s a contradiction in terms. For eg if I change the Asian god wiki, there is no proof of gods or story telling. If I dismissed this, all hell would break loose, and as to hell, well my point is clearly stated. Cozaswhite (talk) 13:51, 23 June 2024 (UTC)
