Page move

[edit]

You moved the page 2023 COSAFA Beach Soccer Championship to 2024 COSAFA Beach Soccer Championship and I can't move it back. It's 2023 not 2024 as the tournament was delayed. Please move the page back to 2023. You can check the COSAFA website for the actual name.

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:43, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Yoblyblob. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or draft page you started, "2024 San Marino v Saint Kitts and Nevis football matches".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Various articles on elections

[edit]

Hello. Thank you for creating these articles.

Please keep the following in mind though:

  • Per MOS:DATETIES, articles related to the U.S. should have mdy dates. Please add {{use mdy dates|date=currentmonth currentyear}} at the top of any new article, and also follow that format throughout it.
  • For the election sidebar template, please use {{Elections in statename sidebar}}, not any of its redirects (like {{Elections in statename}} or {{ElectionsXX}}). You'll find the correct names in Category:United States election year sidebar templates.
  • Please don't add the {{currentyear elections in the United States}} navbox at the bottom unless the article you're creating is linked from that particular navbox (see WP:BIDIRECTIONAL). Oftentimes it's not, but for odd-year elections, it could be, because there are so few elections on odd years.
  • When stating dates (in the mdy format) in the middle of a sentence, please don't forget the closing comma per WP:COMMA.

I have edited some election articles you've created recently to fix this. It's better if things are correct from the start. ;-)

Thanks for your understanding.

@HandsomeFella hey, I believe that I have been doing (most) of this, besides the election sidebar. You removed a YYYY in the 2026 Alabama Attorney General election that was bidirectional. Have not checked all of them. Also, is mdy required for the access date in references? It seems unneeded. Yoblyblob (Talk) :) 22:17, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, my mistake there, thanks for noticing it. I have re-added the template.
Re: access-date in refs, it doesn't need to follow mdy if you have the [use mdy dates] template, bc the software will then present it as mdy, but why not write it that way to begin with? Like in case you forget the [use mdy dates] template.
Cheers. HandsomeFella (talk) 22:38, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, I had no idea about that. Thanks for letting me know. Yoblyblob (Talk) :) 23:32, 17 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Yoblyblob

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username 1ctinus, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Mayoral elections in Opelika, Alabama, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|1ctinus}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!
