Tagging pages for speedy deletion
Hello, Matr1x-101,
Please do not tag pages for speedy deletion until you read Criteria for Speedy Deletion and understand the different criteria thoroughly. You tagged a User page for CSD G13 that was obviously not eligible for this criteria of deletion. Rather than mistag more pages, be sure you understand when the different criteria apply, what namespace they apply to and when other forms of deletion (like PROD or AFD/MFD/CFD/RFD/etc.) would be more appropriate.
If you have questions about Wikipedia's deltion processes, please bring them to the Teahouse where experienced editors can offer you advice and support. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 01:45, 28 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Liz, that page was a draft (Audley Retirement) that wasn't edited in a few years. Rather than using an automated template, can you please explain how that page didn't meet the CSD? --Matr1x-101 {user page - talk with me :) - contribs!} 14:06, 28 December 2022 (UTC)
Image in signature
Hi, Matr1x-101. Images are disallowed in signatures on the English Wikipedia. Could you please change yours? Thanks. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 14:22, 17 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Tamzin: I have no image in my signature. I only have some wiki markup, an emdash (which is a standard unicode character), and some LaTeX maths markup. I don't see anything about those either now or when I was making the signature in WP:SIGNATURE. Please clarify what you want me to remove. —Matr1x-101 {user page (@ commons) - talk} 15:38, 17 June 2023 (UTC)
- Ah, I didn't realize it was a math tag; however, on a software level, math tags still create a new image. Of the 8 reasons listed at WP:SIGIMAGE to not use an image, 5+1⁄2 apply to an image created by math tags. If you disagree, though, I'm happy to start a discussion at WT:SIG. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 15:44, 17 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Tamzin: Fair enough, I've changed it. —Matr1x-101 Ping me/when replying {user page (@ commons) - talk} 15:53, 17 June 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks. Except now that's got a template in it. You'll have to subst it, although that might come out over 255 characters, which would also be an issue... Might want to just come up with something similar. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 15:55, 17 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Tamzin: should be good now. —Matr1x-101 (Ping me when replying) {user page (@ commons) - talk} 17:00, 17 June 2023 (UTC)
