What sources are reliable?
[edit]I see you have cited a user review from Sputnik. Those are considered unreliable; see the description at WP:ALBUMAVOID. Sputnik is okay if the reviewer is Staff or Emeritus, but not User.
You have also cited a google doc. You should instead cite the actual published source, then say that is hosted online at the URL. But if the online URL is a copyright infringement, then you can't use it. Binksternet (talk) 03:09, 22 December 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Johnj1995. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to List of Bohemian Rhapsody cover versions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. CNMall41 (talk) 05:01, 24 April 2023 (UTC)Built By Nations moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Built By Nations, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. WP:Copyright problem
[edit]Text and references were copied from Greta Van Fleet to List of awards and nominations received by Greta Van Fleet. You failed to give credit to the editors who are listed in the article history. See WP:Copying within Wikipedia. That was required. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 09:43, 25 June 2023 (UTC)
- Copying within Wikipedia is encouraged.
- But this is particularly a problem when you copy and remove large quantities of material. Essentially you gutted that whole section.
- It should be done in the WP:Edit summary.
- It merited an attribution comment in both articles talk pages.
- Fixed. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 10:12, 25 June 2023 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:The Liverpool Beats
[edit]Hello, Grayson Pitman. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "The Liverpool Beats".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. Disambiguation link notification for September 10
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Locomotive (Complicity), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Slash. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:22, 10 September 2023 (UTC)
Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello Grayson Pitman! Your additions to Locomotive (Complicity) have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 00:49, 11 September 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Locomotive (Complicity), it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. I have removed the entire "controversy" section that you added; as it was entirely original research. Please be mindful when expanding articles to not write new material or synthesize sources; only put in what is reported by the reliable sources. RF23 (talk) 08:57, 15 September 2023 (UTC)

Individual band member articles
[edit]When creating articles for band members, Please don't pad them out with generic band information like this. We already have a band article for that information, and you added pretty much the same exact info across 3 separate band members articles.
Obviously it's fine to mention the band in their articles, but generally speaking, band members articles should focus on the band members themselves, not just rehashing the band's general history. And if there's not much to say about them as individuals, you should question whether or not a separate article is necessary. Sergecross73 msg me 18:21, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
Ethnicelebs as a reference
[edit]Hi Grayson Pitman. I noticed that you used ethnicelebs.com as a reference for biographical information in Sam Kiszka. Please note that the general consensus as expressed at WP:RSN is that it does not meet the reliable sourcing criteria for the inclusion of personal information in such articles. I've gone ahead and removed it. If you disagree, let's discuss it. You may want to check WP:RSP and WP:RSN to help determine if a source is reliable. Thanks.--Hipal (talk) 18:36, 5 January 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not attack other editors, as you did at User talk:Sionk. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 02:12, 10 January 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, not only was that completely inappropriate to lash out at Sionk like that, but I had previously warned you a month prior that the way you were creating band member articles was not appropriate, and you didn't address that at all. You should have seen this coming. You can't keep creating band member articles that are just 90% regurgitated general band info. You've got to slow down and learn how to write an article on Wikipedia, what sources are reliable or unreliable, etc, before you sink a ton of time writing entire articles, especially if its a WP:BLP, which have even stricter standards that regular articles. Please rethink your approach to Wikipedia. Sergecross73 msg me 18:32, 19 January 2024 (UTC)
