William Whitcombe
[edit]Declined article : William Whitcombe : Hi Graeme, could you please remove this article as it is showing in google searches as a declined article with all threads on view. Thank you 94.195.185.253 (talk) 06:58, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
- Now this talk page will appear too. I will look at a no-index option as I still think this article is 50% viable. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 07:40, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Can you let me know the outcome of the no index option? Thanks 94.195.185.253 (talk) 07:44, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
- I have applied the noindex, and Bing and Google do not list the Wikipedia page. However other sites have copied the Wikipedia page. Because of the license of the text this is allowed, but if they have not attributed the author or given the license they are in breach of copyright and if you are the author you can issue a DCMA take down order to them. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:08, 10 August 2012 (UTC)
As this is still appearing as a delined article, could you either approve it or mark it for compete deletion. Thank you 94.195.185.253 (talk) 07:10, 13 August 2012 (UTC) Good evening, could you respond to last message please. Thank you 94.195.185.253 (talk) 20:03, 22 August 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for reverting the change of name to Friesland. I had originally asked the original editor to do so, but you have saved everyboduy some effort by doing it. Martinvl (talk) 09:53, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

Fall 2012 Online Ambassador Program
[edit]Hi, Graeme!
If you're still planning to work with a class in the US and Canada Education Program this Fall, please add your name to this census. Once the new class list is available, I will notify you guys so you can sign up for a class (or two) that interests you. I know you had a lot of classes last semester and were planning to support fewer this term, so if you're still on board, please indicate how many you're interested in working with. I hope you're still interested in supporting these students for the coming term, especially since I heard back from quite a few people that you'd been a great help. Thanks, Graeme! My RfA
[edit]Thank you very much for your participation in my RfA, which I withdrew shortly prior to the deadline. I appreciate your interest in my candidacy, and I'm glad I took the opportunity to learn various new things
By the way, just as a side note, I had completely forgotten this discussion I had on my talk page with Supreme Deliciousness, where I told him that the licensing issues had not left my attention and I was not sure how I to alter it, but that the point was moot because a newer and more properly licensed image had been added in its place.
I also should mention that I did in fact search for Wikipedia's image copyright policies, but I initially found the relevant policy pages slightly hard to navigate. Thankfully Philosopher and Hahc21 were there as well, otherwise I'd have been lost.
In any case, I still have quite a bit to learn, as I've discovered in recent times (specifically with my newest contribution to Wikipedia). Hopefully the advice I got on my RfA will help me in my future endeavours on this site. Take care. =) Master&Expert (Talk) 09:09, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
DYK for Chromium hydride
[edit]On 10 August 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Chromium hydride, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that chromium hydride is formed when chromium is electroplated? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Chromium hydride. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

1946-1954 Aussie photos
[edit]I have just had 2 photos licenced as PD-Aust, but maybe not PD-USA, challenged as being non-free. Trying to find out REAL details on whether and why this is the case, I found your comments in Wikipedia:Media_copyright_questions/Archive/2011/July#Is_File:BASantamaria.jpg_PD.3F. Were you wrong about the statement "if the photo was taken or published in Australia and not elsewhere before 1955 then the US will recognise it too"? I'm starting to think that this should just be a text only website. The-Pope (talk) 13:28, 11 August 2012 (UTC)
- I have been repeating arguments that I heard elsewhere, or read in the commons templates. The debate will come down to URAA versus free trade agreement. For crown copyright expiry I think there is still an opportunity to argue the case. I have failed to find the text of the free trade agreement. Text will suffer the same problem, but it is far easier to write a piece of text again than to take a photo from the period. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:27, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

AP question
[edit]I noticed that you have experience assigning AP rights, so I hope you wont mind my asking a question regarding this right for a colleague of mine. My colleague User:Evermore2 has written 124 articles here, 6 of which have been dyk. His aricles are well written, and I've helped him with several expansions of considerable length, including Ivan Bunin and Aleksey Pisemsky. The majority of his contributions are in the field of Russian literature. He has several FA and GA articles on Russian wiki as ru:Участник:Evermore. Do you think he qualifies for AP here, and if so, can you assign him the right? The reason I ask is that he has stuck completely to article-space edits here, and so hasn't made any offical requests, etc. Thanks for your time. INeverCry 18:02, 13 August 2012 (UTC)

Brooke Knight article
[edit]This is an article that you've worked on through the afc process. I am bemused by the first sentence, particularly the words I've bolded:
- Brooke Knight (born 1972) is the current manager for the Alcohol Think Again Perth Heat
My first thought was petty vandalism, but the words have been there since the article was first created. I took a quick look at the article Perth Heat, but the phrase doesn't appear there. Can you shed any light?

- Thank you - it was bugging me. I've left a note on The Perth Heat talk page suggesting that this needs adding. yes, I know!, be bold - but I'm sure that there is a preferred format for naming rights sponsor. --Quiet Editor (talk) 18:12, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
HighBeam Research
[edit]Hello. Just a question, are you able to view this article on the HighBeam Research website? Till I Go Home 11:33, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
- No as this appears to the business site and it asks me to logoff or signup for a free 7 day trial. However there is a paragraph at http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P2-1968653.html with the title. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:50, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Are you able to view the entire review or is it truncated after three lines, like mine?If it's no bother, could you please copy and paste the text onto the talk page of Taller in More Ways? Your help with this would be very appreciated. Thanks. Till I Go Home 12:14, 15 August 2012 (UTC)- I've actually now signed up to the free one-year access account. Vietnamese cities and provinces
[edit]You are moving articles from English to Vietnamese-language titles "per request at my talk page". What does this mean? NCGN recommends following the style of Britannica and similar references, see Yen Bai, Phan Thiet, or Vung Tau. No atlas, encyclopedia, or other geographic reference work uses Yên Bái, Phan Thiết, or Vũng Tàu. Kauffner (talk) 21:32, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
- See Talk:Cà Mau#Requested move 3 baaed on the consensus. Rather than going for G6, the previous move were controversial and have been reversed. There are about 600 more moves you requested that may also be reversed. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:22, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
- None of locations you moved were listed in any recent RM. Most of the people voting in the Ca Mau RM wanted to restore the 7 August 2011 Can Tho RM. So I don't see how this RM can apply to items that weren't listed in the earlier RM. Yen Bai province isn't even a city, and certainly wasn't in the Can Tho city list RM. It is now the only province with a title that uses Vietnamese-language spelling. These articles were moved to ASCII titles almost a year ago. If they can stay at the locations I moved them to undisturbed for a year, that confirms that the moves were not controversial at the time I made them. If there is no time limit on these things, why not move everything back to pre-2006 ASCII titles? RMs are not supposed to be interpreted as if they were common law precedents. The guidelines represent consensus. Not one of the recommendations or references given in NCGN supports moving these titles to Vietnamese-language spelling. Kauffner (talk) 01:58, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
- Graeme, FYI Kauffner has already repeatedly been asked to stop making claims such as "that confirms that the moves were not controversial at the time I made them" since apart from the closing admin on the Talk:Cần Thơ/Archive 1 RM User:Arbitrarily0 02:48, 7 August 2011 (UTC), complaints from Vietnamese Users and WP:VIET article creators such as "without consulting the WP:VIET, or at least, having some words with me. I cannot agree with that kind of manner." User:Grenouille vert, Kauffner also received specific warnings on his Talk page from admin User:Prolog and User:Gimmetoo regarding these moves, but deleted them. Maybe Kauffner can supply the dates he was asked to stop by Prolog and Gimmetoo, as well as whether any other Users objected to the moves. In any case the consistent result of all RMs on geographic names should be upheld. Cheers. In ictu oculi (talk) 02:29, 26 August 2012 (UTC)

Kauffner (talk) 01:58, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
- If IIO gets his way, articles about the Czech Republic will be full of Czech words, articles about Germany will be full of German words, and articles about Vietnam will be full of Vietnamese words. Then the nationalists of every nation can sit around feeling smug, but who's supposed to be the readership for polyglot Wikipedia? Perhaps everyone can just read about their own country. Kauffner (talk) 11:08, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
- I thought there was a RFC on the topic recently at WP:TITLE but after a quick look I could not see it. Is it conclusive? Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:48, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Graeme, no Kauffner started an RfC at WT:Naming conventions (Vietnamese), i.e. the talk page of what is largely his own essay. Despite having canvassed those known to be against Vietnamese names, or simply WP:CONSERVATISM (quite why I'm not sure), the result was 23 for Vietnamese titles, 16 against. Not a giant majority, but in line with all 3 RMs on Vietnamese place names. - and again enough to illustrate that the 600 G6 "uncontroversial" moves were not "uncontroversial".
- As for the xenophobic content in the above message; 99.99% of titles for Czech and German articles are at Czech and German spellings and always have been. The Vietnam articles were at about 80-90% at Vietnamese titles before Kauffner moved the 1,800. In ictu oculi (talk) 12:04, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
- I suppose we can say that the canvassed RfC is not as conclusive as the result of the 3 RMs, no. But the specific issue of place names was not raised, and some of those invited to the RfC are against French and Irish names too, so all in all, no reason to ignore the results of the RMs. In ictu oculi (talk) 12:07, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
- I'm involved here and was asked to comment, so you may wish to take this with a pinch of salt, but my suggestion would be not to make any more moves until the RfC concludes. Jenks24 (talk) 06:17, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
- FWIW the RfC has like most of similar talking shops concluded. There hasn't been a new vote since the first 3 days, 3 weeks ago. But that's still fine, the 600 "uncontroversial moves" can wait on being restored in line with the RMs for another 7 days. In ictu oculi (talk) 08:58, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
- I was not expecting my talk page to be an RFC on the RFC. What I have done is reverse my moves that clearly were controversial, and I can tell that any other similar moves are controversial too. So I won't be doing more until the RFC is concluded and closed. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 09:23, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
- Sure, more than fine by me, thanks Graeme :) In ictu oculi (talk) 09:27, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
- The issue of the page moves has already been to ANI and was referred to the RfC. IIO repeatedly brought the issue up at the RfC, but it didn't much traction. Other editors didn't demand that these titles be moved back. I don't accept IIO's vote count, but the pro-diacritic side did have a slight edge. No specific proposal got majority support, much less a consensus. Kauffner (talk) 14:27, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
- Graeme, please note that:
- (i) WP:Administrators'_noticeboard/IncidentArchive761#Kauffner_mass_moves_away_from_diacritics_against_consensus was made 2 days before Kauffner's use of logged out edits to hide 2 previous contrary RMs on Vietnamese towns (contrary Ca Mau RM, contrary Can Tho RM) before requesting G6 dbmoves contrary to RM results - actioned by Graeme/Edgar181/MalikShabazz - was noticed, so this issue has never been before ANI.
- (ii) And of course the RfC proposition proposed by Kauffner did also not make mention of his logged out activity, deletion of contrary RM notices, nor open the question of whether his 600 G6 proxy dbmoves should be reverted. My understanding is that this is firstly an issue for the admins who actioned the moves rather than having a referendum.
- In ictu oculi (talk) 22:20, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
- The admins will do things by request, and if controversial by consensus, so if a group has a referendum of policy based consensus they can request those admins to act, or other admins to step in and do the job. Of course if you have an RFC with the result that an admin has to do 600 moves, it will look like a large job and deter people from solosing the discussion! Graeme Bartlett (talk) 01:13, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Graeme. Yes, though that technical issue in itself doesn't strike me as an insuperable problem since any such RfC could naturally and easily find admin volunteers among the majority 23 who expressed opposition to anglicizing Vietnamese titles on the canvassed RfC (at least 5 or 6 of whom are admins), to parcel up any resultant housekeeping. What's more an issue is how one could even have a clean RfC so soon after one compromised by canvassing. Anyway, nothing has to be done in a hurry, this can go slowly, and slowly build from areas of consensus. It's only in last 2-3 months that opposition to Czech names has evaporated on en.wp, so slowly, openly and cleanly would seem to be the way to proceed. We're all learning; 3 months ago I was talking nonsense about Serbian names on the (misinformed) belief that Serbians always used cyrillic, a couple of Serbian editors educated me otherwise. Thanks for your time again, very much appreciated your attitude and assistance on this. In ictu oculi (talk) 03:18, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

- According to what is known an Israeli Antisemitic left parties in the Israeli governments prevented the construction of the World Bible Center next to the old city walls of Jerusalem next to Mount Zion. The project was planned in 1966 and several times the israeli ministers tried to start the construction and someone stopped everything at the last minute. in israel it is not a secret that Antisemitic parties with political movements Jewish haters that affect in the all regime in the country since the founding of the state. another project that planned to built near to the World Bible Center is not far away from the World Kabbalah Center project next to the UN Headquarters Promenade in Talpiot neighborhood overlooking Mount Zion and the city walls from south. this project is stuck 2006. פארוק (talk) 12:23, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
- And i think that someone here hates Israel and because of this he delete articles about Israel or merge them into other articles. even in Hebrew wikipedia we don't delete/merge short articles or articles with a few links. פארוק (talk) 21:42, 1 September 2012 (UTC)

The Odin Brotherhood
[edit]Hello.
Sorry to disturb you, but are there wikipedia rules about a first-time editor completing gutting and rewriting a page? I am having trouble at The Odin Brotherhood page. Thank you. --Heathenguy (talk) 23:32, 2 September 2012 (UTC)
Thank you for your assistance. Since the article in question is on a religion, and the changes refer exclusively to a book, I have suggested that the editor in question vcreate a book page, although I personally think it is not necessary.
As I have clarified on the talk page of the article, the claim that the Odin Brotherhood is somehow imaginary is dead wrong. Melton's Encyclopedia of American Religions IS the DEFINITIVE book on religion in America, and Dr. Melton's well-researched book does NOT include imaginary groups.--Heathenguy (talk) 04:21, 4 September 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for deletion
[edit]Thanks for deleting Wikipedia:JonRichfield/Tunica (biology). When I tried to move it to the user area I messed up rather badly before finally getting it right. Sorry 'bout that! I would like to think that I have everything straight now for future articles and therefore could swear never to foul up again, but I came within a toucher of saving this very note in your heading, so I refrain from avoidable rash promises!!! Oh well, my excuse is stupidity, congenital and senile. That's my story and I am sticking to it! Cheers, JonRichfield (talk) 11:50, 5 September 2012 (UTC)

Please Help on the Odin Brotherhood page!
[edit]Sir, I agree. The Odin Brotherhood page should NOT be about a book, but about the religion discussed in the Encyclopedia of American religions. Could you help me? I have tried to revert it to religion, not the book, but I have two people reversing me.

Possible page move
[edit]Hi Bob, I was wondering if you could move the article at Eucommia to the species page Eucommia ulmoides which is currently a redirect to the genus. I'm working on writing up the North American fossil species and would love to have a simplified genus article to link them to rather then the genus/species combo page that's there now. Thanks! Ways to improve Eltanin Impact
[edit]Hi, I'm Wikishagnik. Graeme Bartlett, thanks for creating Eltanin Impact!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Graeme, any information in an article has to be verifiable (WP:VERIFY). If you don't add any references, how can readers be sure that you are nt merely presenting your views?
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Request undeletion of Kohana (Web Framework)
[edit]Hello Graeme Bartlett I would like to request the undeletion of Kohana (Web Framework). The page has been gone for a while now and Kohana has evolved. There have been books published and known applications have been made with Kohana like Wepay. Other notable frameworks have been created out of Kohana like FuelPHP shown here: FuelPHP Cookie.php. It's one of the bigger and actively developed frameworks around. I think this framework does deserve to be in the listing. Even Rasmus Lerdorf has been using Kohana and he is the Father of PHP: PHP internals and Kohana Dev Page and Rasmus Personal Blog. Would it be possible to Restore the page so we can maintain it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.200.113.201 (talk) 12:38, 9 October 2012 (UTC)

I have written the biographies that are stopping me
[edit]Hi Mr. Bartlett, User DSCLARKE again. The reason that I am writing this article is that I am The O'Jays publicist and noticed that wiki had an article on Eddie Levert, Sr.(founding member of the O'Jays) but did not contain an article on the other founding member Walter Williams, Sr. I have written many of the BIO's used for The O'Jays including the one on http://eddiewlevert.com/bio.html and levertfatherandson.com/bio/ both containing the sentence 'The Triumps played locally in Canton opening for different acts, playing sock hops and just about everything that came up. ' that I wrote from interviews with Walter and Eddie'. You will also find my BIO for The O'Jays on the official website www.theojayshomepage.com and in our official press kit that is distributed worldwide and used by the media with our permission. What can I do about this predicament? Thank You! DSCLARKE
DYK for Eltanin Impact
[edit]On 12 October 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Eltanin Impact, which you created or substantially expanded. The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Eltanin Impact. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. Copyright violation - vandalizing Wikipedia by supporting their inclusion
[edit]The usual response to a copyright violation on the main page is to deny it and leave it. No, that is not correct. The editor could have provided proof that it was not a copyright violation, but, opted, instead to say the copyright violation could be removed later.
You could have provided such proof also, but chose to just reject the notice. I provided the URL of one copied source, and I am removing the copied information from the other copied source.
Try not to support vandalism of Wikipedia, and, copyright violations are vandalism. -Fjozk (talk) 21:02, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
- The wording was changed enough so that nothing was the same, so no infringement. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:04, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
- No, it wasn't. I've had to rewrite almost every sentence. The few that were not copyright violations were scientific nonsense. -Fjozk (talk) 21:09, 14 October 2012 (UTC)
The article Alexandrium monilatum which I wrote has been stated by Fjozk to be a copyright violation based on this Duplicate detector report. You will see that there is one "18 word" match. This is the title of a journal article that I used as a reference which was also cited in the main source. The only other "matches" over 3 words long are "the Gulf of Mexico and" and "Alexandrium monilatum is a" and "cells are wider than".
It is rubbish to call my article a copyright violation but if Fjozk wishes to correct any errors I may have made in the article, he/she is welcome to do so. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 08:53, 16 October 2012 (UTC)
- Nice try. You frequently write DYK articles that are on the main page, that are largely plagiarized, except where they are absolute rubbish. You do not read the science articles at a level of understanding, and you should stop creating articles on topics you don't understand and stop plagiarizing articles with your rearrange a word here and there then claim a second rate duplicate finder shows that a reversion after yours wasn't a copyvio. I find your copyvios because I have read the sources, then I run them through a plagiarism detector, and you would be flunked in every class you ever took, as you should be. And yet, worse than your plagiarism is your failure to understand the complex biology and simply post anything with the right words in it strung together without meaning.
- Cut it out. And look through your history. I am not the first person to bring this to your attention. You've been accused of writing complete nonsense before. And you continue to do it. In spite of admissions on your part that you don't understand what you are writing.
- What is wrong with wikipedia that anything goes as long as it makes the main page? -Fjozk (talk) 00:34, 17 October 2012 (UTC)
- And let's have this discussion on your talk page. It needs a record, so when the poop hits the fan, your record will show you had gotten away with it for years, while experts were chased away from Wikipedia. -Fjozk (talk) 00:44, 17 October 2012 (UTC)
GibraltarPediA Options followup
[edit]You participated earlier in Wikipedia talk:Did you know/GibraltarPediA Options, in which a proposed moratorium on Gibraltar-related DYKs was rejected and a set of options was agreed. There is currently a suggestion from editors who did not participate in that discussion that a moratorium should be imposed, overturning the earlier agreement. If you have any views on this, please feel free to comment at Wikipedia talk:Did you know#Time-sensitive DYK nomination. Prioryman (talk) 21:09, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
Overturning of deletion
[edit]Hello, Graeme. It has been pointed out to me that you overturned the speedy deletion of Southern Stars poster. What surprises me is that you took the unusual step of doing so without consulting or even informing the admin who did the deletion (me) that you were revering an administrative action. Was this an accidental oversight, or was there some particular reason why you decided that on this occasion doing so was unnecessary? I wonder, also, whether you considered informing the editor who nominated the page for deletion. Informing an editor of declining a speedy deletion is not by any means always done, but it seems to me that in a case where their request for deletion has been accepted and then reversed it is a courtesy to inform them, as otherwise they may well be left with the impression that the page is deleted, and thus in effect deprived of the opportunity to take it to AfD if they think it appropriate. JamesBWatson (talk) 09:12, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
- I have noticed quite a few pages nominated for spam deletions that are not completely promotional. They may be created with the intention of promotion, but that is different to the the speedy delete criterion. I had already undeleted this when it was deleted again, overturning the undelete. In many cases I would not care, but in this case I had check some references to confirm notability as well. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:57, 19 October 2012 (UTC)
- I note that you have not addressed either of the questions I raised, namely consulting the administrator whose deletion you reverted, and informing the user who had nominated it. I also note that the previous deletion was a completely different matter, being a PROD which was overturned because someone had challenged it, which has no bearing whatsoever on a subsequent deletion on different grounds. JamesBWatson (talk) 15:09, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
- Since you haven't deemed such questions worthy of your attention I'll ask some more. Is your opinion automatically better than everyone else's or is this page just special? Do you always misuse your admin tools to override due process or is this a special case because you happened to answer the spammers refund request? Do you commonly deflect reasonable questions with dodgy misdirection? duffbeerforme (talk) 13:38, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
- YOu have one of the reasons there "this a special case because you happened to answer the spammers refund request" I am only overriding the speedy delete process, because opinions can do so. Really the next step is an AFD for this page so that a proper consensus can be argued out. SPeedy deletes should not be controversial. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:13, 31 October 2012 (UTC)
- So you misused your admin tools because a spammer might want her advert back. duffbeerforme (talk) 11:46, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

Canberra geography stuff
[edit]Can you take a look at Gibraltar Falls and Gibraltar Peak (Canberra)? There seems like there should be information about stuff there that I am missing in terms of nature. --LauraHale (talk) 00:25, 26 October 2012 (UTC)
- You are right, but it is not as if I know anything without research. I do have a picture of Gibraltar Falls I could upload. Are you back here? Graeme Bartlett (talk) 00:32, 26 October 2012 (UTC)
- Picture would be nice. :) I've been back in Australia since mid-September. PhD stress and postdoc stress and academic paper writing stress. I don't have access to sources like I should to add some of the background information. (I could write articles about Canberran sport people until the cows came home with the sources on my bookshelf.) Thought these would be kind of fun to write and get some one to take to DYK (which they have) since the signpost singled out Canberra as needing activity. --LauraHale (talk) 01:05, 26 October 2012 (UTC)

Revdel
[edit]At first I didn't think much of it, but on further reflection these edits might require revision deleting.[1] As far as I can tell the name of a reporter in the article is being linked to a crime simply because their names match. Eround1 Slow Earthquakes
[edit]Thanks for all of the input on my page! I have fixed all of the things that you said should be fixed. I have also been searching for the "slowest earthquake" with no solid results. I have added a little blurb about asperity-controlled and linked to another wiki page for more info on it. I have found a scientific paper on: Scaling Relationships of Source Parameters for slow slip events, and I am trying to understand it a little more than I already do to see about adding a little bit more information on this topic. As for the last two sentences on the page, I am adding/editing the preexisting slow earthquake page in hopes of improving it, and those two sentences were put there by the first editor. Should I erase them? Or put (citation needed) behind them? Another thing that I was curious on was when I make my page live since there is already a page about this do I save my edits to that page or just make my page go live? Eround1 (talk • contribs) 23:02, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
Hi Graeme,
Thank you for your input, I plan on incorporating the different models into my page. The South Tibet Detachment is commonly interpreted as a normal fault, however there are newer interpretations that it is more likely a thrust fault. Unfortunately my page isn't ready because I recently had trouble with the deletion of many of my edits while trying to insert a citation (one of many problems I've had while learning Wikipedia), but I plan on working on it over the next few days to get the page ready. I appreciate your time and comments and I look forward to more input in the future. Ericorphys73 (talk) 13:31, 8 November 2012 (UTC)Eric Orphys

Hello again Graeme,
I'm having more trouble with Wikipedia. I was a day late as you may remember finishing my draft of my page to go live because of other problems. I submitted my page to be approved Friday early afternoon and I'm not sure if I made an error in doing so since I have no information on whether it was approved or denied. The article Riedell Skates has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Basically an unsourced advertisement page that has been tagged for five years with no improvement.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Cresix (talk) 23:32, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
Proposed deletion/removal of public view-Rider University revision
[edit]I'm asking if this revision of Rider University (http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Rider_University&oldid=515565523) on 2:56, October 2, 2012 to be removed from public view/deleted from history. It seems to be pointless vandalism.
- hanks for pointing this out. It is ugly vandalism, but it was reverted fast. It does not meet the criteria for revision deletion as it is just your regular vandalism, not excessively offensive, or defaming a particular person. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:16, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
