Toronto Blue Jays logos[edit]

Hi there. Could you please take another look at your closure at Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2024 June 6? I believe the nominator meant that the Toronto Blue Jays article only needed one logo instead of two, but you deleted them both. Would you care to restore one of them? Thanks! - Eureka Lott 00:14, 2 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Eureka Lott. Thanks for letting me know. @JohnCWiesenthal: could you please comment on this? Thanks, Fastily 21:07, 2 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I did not realize that I had to nominate only one of the logos for discussion, not both. JohnCWiesenthal (talk) 23:05, 2 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
(talk page watcher) In such instances, nominating both make sense but it is helpful to explicitly state that only one logo should be deleted and also recommend which should be kept and which should be deleted. -- Whpq (talk) 23:22, 2 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, what do you say, Fastily? - Eureka Lott 23:09, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No opinion on my side regarding which one could be restored. I was hoping JohnCWiesenthal (as the original nom) could tell us that. -Fastily 23:16, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, now that I checked again, we might be good. File:Toronto Blue Jays cap.svg was added to the Blue Jays article, so it no longer lacks a logo image. - Eureka Lott 23:19, 8 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

He's created this three times now. Clearly a block is warranted. Un assiolo (talk) 19:27, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page watcher)(Non-administrator comment)@Un assiolo: This person appears to be a new user who might be trying to follow the advice given to them here by Deb in good faith. Bolierplate CSD notifications can often be hard for new users, particularly non-native English speakers, to understand. Maybe blanking the page and adding a more personalized "final warning" message to their user talk with links to WP:UPYES and WP:NOTWEBHOST could work better here than a block? If they recreate the page after that, then blocking seems more appropriate. Just a suggestion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:57, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Marchjuly: I'm sorry, but this person is clearly WP:NOTHERE. The comment by User:Deb is unfortunate as it seemingly left open the possibility of a promotional userpage. It should have been made more explicit that Wikipedia is not for promotion and is not a social network and that this kind of content is not welcome anywhere on the site, under any circumstances. But if it wasn't clear from the three separate promotional pages this person had created (draft+sandbox+userpage), it's clear now that they have no intention of actually contributing. --Un assiolo (talk) 22:37, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Un assiolo: You're quite right about them deserving a block and I've done so. I use that particular message in cases where I think the person might be innocently trying to create a user page and not understand our rules. It almost always has the desired effect - they realise they are in the wrong place and they just go away. In this case it hasn't worked. Deb (talk) 08:49, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you![edit]

F.Y.I User:Nehuislam63 has recreated it again. Untamed1910 (talk) 05:18, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Untamed1910: I have reported them to WP:AIV as a promotion-only account. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 05:18, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Same, I also reported them to WP:UAA. NoobThreePointOh (talk) 05:20, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You may also wish to protect the page from being created. NoobThreePointOh (talk) 05:22, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@NoobThreePointOh: They probably can't be faulted for a username violation. Real names are permitted as usernames - there would only be a problem if they were notable and there was concern that someone was impersonating them. If their account were named after a business or organization, then they could be blocked for WP:CORPNAME. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 05:32, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Oh well, my bad. NoobThreePointOh (talk) 05:33, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

can you please check the Sliver Synth page now again[edit]

Hello, many days ago, you nominated the Silver Synth page for deletion due to a lack of reliable sources. Now I have found more credible sources through Google searches. I believe that with these new sources, the page meets the notability standards and should be published.

Please review the new sources to determine if the page can be republished. If you need any specific links, let me know, and I will provide them. you can find it in Google search as well. As Silver Synth is a well-known musician, it is important that his page be reinstated. and also please let me know what do you think about it.

Thank you for your assistance. Sa.Editor99 (talk) 14:04, 10 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Why my Page has been Deleted.[edit]

I have posted nothing wrong or offensive or false statement. it took a lot of efforts to create my page , But it has been deleted deleted without any reason or warning. I am extremely said . Please help me to recover my Page. thank you!Shri Prannath Jyanpeeth (talk) 01:20, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page watcher)(Non-administrator comment) Hi Shri Prannath Jyanpeeth. I'm not Fastily, but I will try and explain why your page was deleted.
First of all, you were notified that there was a problem with the page in this post added to your user talk page; so, this is a warning in a Wikipedia sense. In addition, if you click on User:Shri Prannath Jyanpeeth, you'll see that the reason why the page was deleted has to do with Wikipedia speedy deletion criterion U5 and Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not#Wikipedia is not a blog, web hosting service, social networking service, or memorial site. All Wikipedia user pages are required to be in accordance with Wikipedia:User pages and my guess is that your user page was considered to be enough of a violation of Wikipedia:User pages#What may I not have in my user pages? that it satisfied the criteria for speedy deletion.
Your user page was, actually deleted twice in two days by two different Wikipedia administrators: once by an administrator named Oshwah and once by Fastily. I'm not an administrator so I cannot see what was deleted, but it seems a bit unlikely that two different Wikipedia administrators would've deleted the page if there weren't some serious problems that simply couldn't be fixed.
So, I suggest you take a close look at Wikipedia:User pages#What may I have in my user pages? before trying to re-create the page again. It's OK if you weren't aware of any of this and just made a mistake, but repeating the same mistake over and over again almost never ends well and could lead to administrator stepping in to stop you from continuing to recreate an improper user page. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:45, 11 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
