Quarry

Hello, DreamRimmer,

I noticed you ran some queries about CSD G13s. I handle these expiring drafts all day long so if you have any question about them and how they are treated or identified, just ask me or User:SD0001 can help answer the more technical queries you might have. Just let me know. Liz Read! Talk! 07:44, 18 December 2023 (UTC)

Hi @Liz, I have User:SDZeroBot/G13 eligible in my watchlist. I've noticed the bot updates new G13 drafts daily, but whenever I check this page, it appears blank. I thought that perhaps a query could help me find eligible G13 drafts. Is the bot only purging that page to display eligible drafts? I haven't seen any new text added in the page history. – DreamRimmer (talk) 17:45, 18 December 2023 (UTC)

"Lousiana Rebellion" redirect

Hello! When you said that my closure of WP:AFCR#Redirect request: Lousiana Rebellion was not done properly, I'm assuming you're referring to the fact that I created the redirect from Louisiana Rebellion, rather than Lousiana Rebellion. I believe that "Lousiana" in the request was a typo, and that the requester intended to request a redirect from Louisiana Rebellion. The helper script gave the option to create the redirect but from a different title than was requested, so I assumed that feature was for cases like this. Is there a different way to handle requests with typos in them? Luke10.27 (talk) 01:15, 21 December 2023 (UTC)

@Luke10.27, you did it correctly. I thought you had accepted it, but it wasn't created, perhaps due to a script error. Just to inform you, I pinged you in the edit summary. – DreamRimmer (talk) 01:25, 21 December 2023 (UTC)
Okay, thank you. No problem; I just wanted to make sure what I did was OK. I put the accepted templates back around it. Luke10.27 (talk) 01:28, 21 December 2023 (UTC)

Hello DreamRimmer!

Josh and I saw that you deleted Discord. When we coordinated the October drive, Discord was crucial to our communication. Request to edit

Hello I would like to request edit of baloch people article. the article Baloch People is very short and resource limited compared to other ethnic groups pages on Wikipedia. I've already participated in talk page and raised some materials with the source, but I have not got reply yet.I wish to add subjects in order to improve the article. Kindly see my statements in https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Talk:Baloch_people And if there is no problem, confirm it. Regards. Balash-Vologases (talk) 18:00, 21 December 2023 (UTC)

@Balash-Vologases, do you have conflict of interest with this subject? – DreamRimmer (talk) 18:06, 21 December 2023 (UTC)
Some materials that cited there do not represent origin of baloch people, for instance in history, this statement "according to Baloch lore, their ancestors hail from Aleppo in what is now Syria" This is only a theory and has little validity. I wish to add materials and subject to that highlights that a cited refrence does not support the claim.
As i already stated, the article very short and simple. Balash-Vologases (talk) 18:16, 21 December 2023 (UTC)
Yes, i just want to improve the article no Biased and worthless content Balash-Vologases (talk) 18:25, 21 December 2023 (UTC)
I added an {{Edit extended-protected}} template to your request section. It categorizes your request for users who regularly process edit requests. Now your request will be handled accordingly. Also, you haven't answered my previous question. If there is any conflict of interest, please update the template to {{Edit COI}}. – DreamRimmer (talk) 18:48, 21 December 2023 (UTC)
thanks a bunch, I see a lot of contrast in the article.
some edits has nothing to do with main article, it is clear personal commentary and trying to distort and represent an arabic origion for baloch. Baloch is Iranic people. Balash-Vologases (talk) 22:10, 21 December 2023 (UTC)

Hey @Aviram7, I really think you should give another thought to keeping in your AfC reviewer rights. You've been doing great with your reviewing lately, so sticking with AfC seems like a good idea. I'm rooting for you to reconsider and maybe withdraw that removal request you put in at WT:AFCP. – DreamRimmer (talk) 14:41, 23 December 2023 (UTC)
I requested to have the rights removed for some specific reason, however I have reconsidered putting the afc rights back, I don't know why you pinged about this, since till yesterday you were unhappy with my afc actions? Some time ago, it was not easy for me to review draft articles, but till then I was happy to review articles.~~ αvírαm|(tαlk) 15:19, 23 December 2023 (UTC)
But I greatful to you Dear DreamRimmer for about that.😊~~ αvírαm|(tαlk) 15:32, 23 December 2023 (UTC)
I raised concerns because you were reviewing some articles without evaluating their notability. Now, you are doing great in politics-related subjects. In the future, you should avoid reviewing articles if you're unsure about their notability. – DreamRimmer (talk) 15:39, 23 December 2023 (UTC)
Dear DreamRimmer, Ok, I will pause our afc activity if i not assure for article notability and I keeping you thoughts in our mind, thank you for this suggestion.😊~~ αvírαm|(tαlk)

Regarding the game of Long Backgammon / Long Narde/Nardy

@DreamRimmer

Hey there! I'm obviously a newbie, just saw the article of a game I adore and often play, but as I see the description of it is completely misleading. https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Long_Nardy

The game is not russian and never was. It is of Persian origin, then its 'long' version came to popularity amongst Caucasus (Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Chechnya, etc.) and Central Asia (Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, etc.). Only late in XX century the game came into the soviet territory while several of above-mentioned countries was under soviet rule. This doesn't make it russian, isn't it?

So if you do not play some specific pro-russian narrative, but are striving for genuine information, please correct the description/annotation of the game for it to be descriptive and precise. 81.7.94.40 (talk) 16:55, 27 December 2023 (UTC)

Hello there! If you believe there's an issue in this article, feel free to make the necessary corrections. Remember to include a reference for your change and provide a summary. Well, seems I did, but they were reverted. All I did was entering some short facts/notions fro mthe original article, which is very exhaustive and detailed. https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Tables_game 81.7.94.40 (talk) 19:52, 27 December 2023 (UTC)

Reviewing the reviewers

Hi DreamRimmer. I'm following up, as promised, on the conversation at Talk:Ashok Attri (diplomat)#Unreviewed with a bit of advice. I hope that's okay—I don't like to do so uninvited—but I gather from your ping that you at least consider me as someone who knows a bit about new page reviewing, so I'll beg your forgiveness rather than permission.

Coincidentally, just before your ping I was looking at User talk:Reading Beans/Archives/2023/October#Notability tag + marking as reviewed again, which was another time you challenged another NPPer on their actions, in my opinion not quite correctly. In both cases you were absolutely entitled to do so—NPPers can and should be holding each other accountable—and I want to also acknowledge that in both cases, when the other editor disagreed, you pinged another person for a third opinion. That's a great attitude, and unfortunately all too rare around here! But... even though you can challenge other NPPers on their actions, I'd suggest that it's not in your best interests to do so.

You can take it from me, as someone who does a lot of 'reviewing the reviewers' – it never goes down well. Even if you're right, even if you try to be as nice as possible, it's just not pleasant and frequently leads to escalating conflicts. It needs to be done, but not everyone has to do it. I get the impression that you're someone who really cares about the quality of Wikipedia, wants to do maintenance tasks and do them right, and perhaps will be thinking about going for adminship in the not too distant future. If so, you don't want to invite unnecessary conflict! It's the kind of thing that could create grudges, or make people watching think that you're not ready for advanced permissions. Focus on sharpening your own skills, and if you do come across sub-standard reviewing, pass it on to an admin to act on – someone who can afford to piss people off or take a trout or two if they're wrong :) – Joe (talk) 19:20, 1 January 2024 (UTC)

Thanks a bunch, @Joe, for taking the time to share your valuable advice. I really appreciate it and will definitely stick to it. You know, I've been seeing some users marking articles without really checking for notability and copyright concerns. Caught a few autopatrolled folks abusing their privileges too. I tried reaching out to admins about it, but no luck with the replies, so I had to step in and handle things myself. From now on, I'll skip discussions with reviewers and just report the issues straight to an admin. Appreciate it and wishing you a fantastic year ahead! – DreamRimmer (talk) 05:00, 2 January 2024 (UTC)

Visa policy of Fiji

Hello! Why did you delete my edit? Please learn my edit. If it's okay, can you please return it? Thank you for reply. Anes112 (talk) 12:55, 3 January 2024 (UTC)

@Anes112: Wikipedia is not a blog or tutorial site intended to offer advice or instructions on how and where to apply for a visa. If necessary, you may include the official visa site in the external links section, but avoid incorporating such information within the article sections. – DreamRimmer (talk) 13:06, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
So, I can't get my edit back? Anes112 (talk) 13:13, 3 January 2024 (UTC)

Do not restore that edit; instead, make a new edit and use secondary sources to support your changes. – DreamRimmer (talk) 14:04, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
If it’s not difficult for you, then can you say what exactly is wrong? Is the link wrong? Or did I not justify the reason for editing? Thank you for the answer. Anes112 (talk) 15:09, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
