Wikipedia:WikiProject Liberia. Interested? ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 17:43, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It has to be one of the least developed countries on wikipedia and we need all the work on it we can get. Most of the major towns are still one liners! ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 18:02, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well thankyou. Yes i have done a fair bit of work on places all over the world and I am a strong proponent of even coverage on wikipedia. Over the last few weeks I've been doing a lot to create over hundred new locator map so we can add infoboxes and maps to all of our articles in most world countries. It will take a while to add them all and to indeed add all the missing places but I remain optimistic this can be done eventually during which time more and more info should gradually become available. For instance browse through the articles on Category:Cities, towns and villages in The Gambia like Bakau and you'll see all those nice images!!! Hopefully we can obtain more African images too - we can't ignore 99% of these countries -some of them are huge ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 18:26, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for adding the population to the mozambique districts, -I should be able to see about getting some district maps for them like I have done for Krygzstan ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 18:37, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sue I'll see what I can do. I did these the other day. In my experience districts tend to get ignored and often theytake up a considerable area. Some of the African district/regional articles are terribly short. I did Kyrgyzstan ,Gabon, Eritrea and Republic of Congo districts the other day. I also stubbed the highways in Gabon!

Right now though I am about to stub all of the nature reserves of Nicaragua there must be near a hundred the tmeplate I just made!! ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 20:29, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually there's 78. Incidentally me sister who has been living in Pallo Alto not far from San Francisco the last year or so is off on holiday to Nicaragua and Costa Rica tonight. i hope she sends me some images to upload!! ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 20:33, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Central America is particularly ecologically rich though. My cousin worked in costa rica , nicaragua and honduras for over ten years. He is a tree geneticist and takes charge of many of the national parks. He once had an article Jonathen Cornelius and he was a member of Amazonas. But his article was deleted and he also requested it was too ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 20:48, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello my friend. Could you help expand Arzemiro dos Prazeres using the external reference about him with a Brazilian writer. Also interested in helping me start List of bridges in Portugal?? ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 17:00, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yup I know I was considering doing Mali next but I don't see why I shouldn't do them all. I just started João Gomes Bridge on Madeira. Transport in Madeira is started but needs considerable expansion -roads etc ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 17:26, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I have a challenge for you. Could you help translate this article into english? Its been on my to-do list for months. I;ve been hoping to get a few editors to help get it into english. The Bald One White cat 13:51, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Yes its a biggy, but the idea is that a handful of editors can spend a few minutes on a paragraph or two at a time rather than doing the whole lot in one go. It is a gradual translation but any contributions you can make as a portuguese speaker would be much appreciated! The Bald One White cat 14:40, 22 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

History of animation

[edit]

Thanks Cattus for your message. But first I think it would be more important, since I agree with the tag on the article, rewrite the whole thing like suggested and exactly like you pointed out. that would be a higher priority than Estonian Animation I think. Otherwise everything you suggested has been on my list. Since rewriting History of animation is quite a project, I most likely do it in my user space first and since you seem to be interested in the subject, feel free to help out and comment any time. I'll post a link to a rewrite for you asa I can get a chance to get my hands on it.--Termer (talk) 04:25, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hiya, thanks for the tip, actually I've already seen it. National television here in Sweden showed it a few months ago, very interesting. I don't know if it tells more about democracy or about the lack of it sometimes. --Jonte-- (talk) 00:46, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have started a Wikipedia:Request for comment on this topic at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#RfC on ESCKaz reliability. This discussion originates from questions on the reliability of the ESCKaz website and if it should be used in Eurovision articles on Wikipedia. It has now being extended to fully review all sources used in articles covered by WikiProject Eurovision, including ESCToday and Oikotimes. This is a very important issue to the project as sourcing is a key part of articles, and consensus needs to be reached on which sources should be used when, where and how. This discussion however has so far lacked a wide range of editor participation, and as you have listed yourself as a member of WikiProject Eurovision I invite you to add your thoughts. In particular more input is needed from editors which have a high level of experience with relevant guidelines/policies such as Wikipedia:Reliable sources and Wikipedia:Verifiability, and who have up until now stayed outside this debate, though all contributions are welcome. Thank you. Camaron | Chris (talk) 11:00, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re Pink film category

[edit]

Hi, Cattus... Actually I've debated with myself a lot over creating a pink film template. The sticky part is that we've already got Template:Japanese erotic cinema, which includes both pink films (softcore theatrical releases) and their performers, writers and directors; and J-Adult Videos, and their performers, writers and directors. If this template gets large enough, maybe we'll separate these two different, but related aspects of erotic entertainment... But about the pink film category-- Yes, probably a good idea. The category might be small now, but there are certainly many more pink films which would easily pass "notability" standards, and make interesting articles. I'm a bit rusty, but I'll try to get the category started now, and work on populating it more later on. Cheers! Dekkappai (talk) 00:28, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Cattus. The Pink films go back to the early '60s. They're theatrical softcore porn mini-feature films about 60 minutes long, with sometimes very interesting stories, themes, directing, acting, etc... AVs are, basically, Adult Videos, with some interesting Japanese touches. There was a lot of overlap in the early days-- most early AV actresses had come out of the pink film industry, and early AVs were much like pink films, just made on video tape. But as the AV developed in the later '80s, it became its own genre, and there is less overlap in personnel between the two, though there is still some... Proposed deletion of Lists of hospitals by country

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Lists of hospitals by country, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Article is identical to category of same title - no added encyclopedic value

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Proposed deletion of Carlos Contreiras

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Carlos Contreiras, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

"This article appears to be totally unreferenced biography of a living person. Please remove this tag only if you can provide at lest one source AND you believe the subject to be otherwise encyclopedic"

Outline of anime

Hey Cattus, I recently noticed the Outline of anime draft you created. I'd suggest it be broadened to an outline of anime and manga, or at the very least an accompanying outline of manga should be created as well. Hello Cattus! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 3 of the articles that you created are Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to these articles, it would greatly help us with the current 0 article backlog.
