Talk page reverts
[edit]This IP is allowed to remove the warning on their own talk page per WP:TPO. Removal is acknowledgement that the person read it. EvergreenFir (talk) 22:22, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @EvergreenFir Funny thing is that I saw they reverted your warning, so I tried to help. Only because in the past I've seen those types of warnings were reverted. No good deed goes unpunished (That's me!). I knew that I would see a red bell light up, lol ... that's why I stopped after two reverts. Thanks for your message and good luck throwing out future trash. ;) Regards, - Bringingthewood (talk) 22:36, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
- No offense intended at all. I just wanted to let you know the IP's actions were technically allowed, even if kinda crappy. I totally understand why you reverted too. :) EvergreenFir (talk) 04:11, 4 April 2024 (UTC)

[edit]No issue if you want to assume Lasley is no longer in the job market. But his losing citizenship needs an RS. Otherwise, there's Wikipedia talk:WikiProject National Football League/Archive 24 § Former American football players.—Bagumba (talk) 10:41, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
College statistics
[edit]I suppose it's one of those "standards", but doesn't a subsection "Statistics" under "College" already imply that they are college stats?[4] And why NFL bios have college stats as a subsection under "College", but NFL stats in its own high-level section (e.g. Peyton Manning). Feel free to ignore.—Bagumba (talk) 04:34, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- Ignore @Bagumba. Not since I removed links from the photos. ;) I always felt like people needed a seeing eye dog when they came here. I agree, stats under college meant college stats. I'm all for doing one less thing. But like I always do .. when I see 100 pages one way, I just go along. Should we continue to change collegiate to college? Because if I remove college completely, YOU KNOW someone will eventually find me, lol. John. Bringingthewood (talk) 04:43, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Bagumba Had to mention this, I just now found a player that backed my original thought. When I add American, I tend to forget to add professional also. Then I thought, if they played college ball .. is professional correct? Just now I came across Ron Tilton. Isn't he like all the other professionals? Bringingthewood (talk) 04:59, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- I think Dirtlawyer1 used to put "college and professional football" if they didn't have a very long pro career or something. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 05:02, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- @WikiOriginal-9 I thought it was him. What I didn't want to hear .. 'if not a long career'. That leads to me reading .. which leads to me leaving, lol. Sorry to say, I make everything a job. Good news: Can't get fired, if you don't get paid .. only blocked. :/ John. Bringingthewood (talk) 05:08, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- College = professional. No, these are amateuer student-athletes. Haha. MOS:ROLEBIO says:
The lead sentence should describe the person as they are commonly described by reliable sources.
I think that's usually their highest level. Sure there can be excepions, but the drive-by editors want cookie-cutter conformity. —Bagumba (talk) 05:12, 21 August 2024 (UTC)- @Bagumba College = professional also means Professional = John's happy. Thanks for that. Bringingthewood (talk) 05:18, 21 August 2024 (UTC)

- "Collegiate" can have its place depending on context, but if it's "collegiate football" vs "college football", stick with the shorter one (WP:FORMAL). —Bagumba (talk) 05:22, 21 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Bagumba Sorry for the delay, old computer. I see blue lights going round in my sleep! Okay, shorter when I see it, that's easy enough. Here's to an uneventful week. Bringingthewood (talk) 06:00, 21 August 2024 (UTC)

- @WikiOriginal-9 HA! You would not believe how much I wanted to stay away from that one. I just couldn't, lol. - @WikiOriginal-9 ROFL!! Sorry, I was going to call the paramedics, the pain due to laughing so hard. That was a good one. The reverts that bother me is when I remove something from an editor that was one before the last good edit. It looks like I disagreed with everyone. I did that to you also. - @WikiOriginal-9 Thanks for the American addition to German-born. If I see a military born player, even though assuming gets ME in trouble, I could go that route. Should I amend Tody Smith? Not sure if there's an age limit for when they come to the U.S. or even become a citizen. Bringingthewood (talk) 02:52, 8 September 2024 (UTC)
- If they're just military born, they're not really German. The Schwedes guy was actually from Germany. ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 02:57, 8 September 2024 (UTC)
- @WikiOriginal-9 I was thinking the same thing. (Oh yes, you were born there ... but you're really not one of us). Weird s***. Now I see, homework had to be done at that page. Honestly, I thought you were going to drop by there anyway .. but just to remove the dash, lol. Maybe I'll just stick with the country I know about.
