Double checking at DYK
Hey there! It's been a hot minute since I've nominated something at DYK (and definitely over a year since I've even interacted over there) so I'm not entirely sure how to reply to your suggestions. However, I have fixed the two CN tags, and also, is the second blurb (regarding the Super Bowl name) necessary? Just some quick questions that I think you can help me with! :) Cheers, atque supra! Fakescientist8000 00:27, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Fakescientist8000: The Super Bowl name was just me noting another potential hook in case you wanted another option - I'll approve your proposed hook as the [citation needed] issues have been addressed. BeanieFan11 (talk) 00:32, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you so much!! :) Cheers, atque supra! Fakescientist8000 00:35, 13 June 2023 (UTC)

DYK?
Hi. Quick question. I know you worked on the Jack Langer article, and I'm interested in it being nominated for DYK. Nomination has to be done by an established editor (not something I am or am inclined to be -- I'm not a joiner). In the past, I've worked with another established editor who has done the honors, but I asked him about this one a couple of days ago and have yet to hear back. I don't want to miss the nomination window. If he does not respond, might you be interested? With the DYK credit going to you? I have the hook drafted, and would be happy if you like to do the QPQ. Thanks. 2603:7000:2101:AA00:A491:803D:ABC:2E20 (talk) 19:35, 15 June 2023 (UTC)
- Hmmm... It looks like Langer has already been nominated at DYK -- see Template:Did you know nominations/Jack Langer. BeanieFan11 (talk) 19:57, 15 June 2023 (UTC)

- To be clear on this, the DYK nom needs a QPQ, and there are a couple of other outstanding issues. It has been 9 days since nominating, which is more than enough time to do a QPQ for this. Joseph2302 (talk) 10:10, 3 July 2023 (UTC)

The WikiCup
As a WikiCup judge, I propose to decline your submission of Stanley Woodward (attorney) for DYK. It falls foul of the rule that states "Points are awarded for created or expanded articles appearing at DYK. No points are given for nominating an article at DYK that has been created, expanded or improved by someone else."
As a matter of interest, this article has all the hallmarks of being written by a paid editor with a conflict of interest. The creator only had an IP address so I don't know whether he was asked about this. In my view it is better not to have such free advertising on the Wikipedia main page. What do you think? Cwmhiraeth (talk) 11:33, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
- That's fine. I was unsure about whether it would qualify; but thanks for pointing out that rule so I know for sure. I doubt that's a COI submission from a paid editor, though. That IP seems to do work on a bunch of different topics that interest him see e.g. Keaton Winn and Jack Langer. BeanieFan11 (talk) 15:06, 5 July 2023 (UTC)

Hi there! I've been keeping an eye on links to newspapers.com that use the Wikipedia Library proxy. The issue is that these links will not work for readers who are not logged in. For these links to work for Logged in users, they need to have "500+ edits, 6+ months editing, 10+ edits in the last month, No active blocks". I see that number of your edits use "https://www-newspapers-com.wikipedialibrary.idm.oclc.org/". I've proposed a solution that manually requires replacing www-newspapers-com.wikipedialibrary.idm.oclc.org with www.newspapers.com. I'd welcome any input you might have over at that page. Jeff Allen
Thank you for your work on Jeff Allen (defensive back, born 1948). You clearly put a ton of work into into expanding articles and finding sourcing and I would just like to say I appreciate it :) ULPS (talk) 02:13, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
- As always, thanks for the great work you put in @BeanieFan11. I had just been telling ULPS that you would be a great person to seek help from with the article. Hey man im josh (talk) 16:25, 28 July 2023 (UTC)

DYK for Nicholas Dheilly
On 30 July 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Nicholas Dheilly, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Canadian football player Nicholas Dheilly tied his team's single-game sack record in his debut? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Nicholas Dheilly. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Nicholas Dheilly), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Dennis Borcky
Hey from time to time I try to improve some small articles and I sam the NFL project. I started with Dennis Borcky and have added some more. But I know that you are far better than me and my writtings aren't very good (I'm not a native speaker). Can you also take a look at the article? With kind regards.
