Fun fact
In regards to your message at Y10's page: Well, technically I did "Josh Allen". Josh Allen (offensive lineman) was the first Josh Allen and used to be titled "Josh Allen". ~WikiOriginal-9~ (talk) 19:12, 7 March 2024 (UTC)

Removed PROD only 4 Minutes after it being placed?
Might I ask how you found my PROD of Lists of starting quarterbacks in the XFL so quickly? And did you do a BEFORE? Let'srun (talk) 19:23, 10 March 2024 (UTC)
- @Let'srun: I had put that page on my watchlist when it was first created. As for why I deproded it, it's just that I think it might be best to have a discussion on it, as there's similar lists for other leagues. Not necessarily calling it notable, just requesting that you take that and the USFL list to AFD rather than PROD. BeanieFan11 (talk) 19:26, 10 March 2024 (UTC)
- I found some possible articles for the USFL list and think that one meets the WP:NLIST, thus I don't think a bundle makes sense. However, I will be taking the XFL list to AfD shortly as I respectfully disagree with the WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS argument. Let'srun (talk) 19:29, 10 March 2024 (UTC)
- OK – since the leagues are combined now I thought it'd make sense. We'll see how the AfD goes. BeanieFan11 (talk) 19:31, 10 March 2024 (UTC)

RFA2024 update: no longer accepting new proposals in phase I
Hey there! This is to let you know that phase I of the 2024 requests for adminship (RfA) review is now no longer accepting new proposals. Lots of proposals remain open for discussion, and the current round of review looks to be on a good track towards making significant progress towards improving RfA's structure and environment. I'd like to give my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has given us their idea for change to make RfA better, and the same to everyone who has given the necessary feedback to improve those ideas. The following proposals remain open for discussion:
- Proposal 2, initiated by HouseBlaster, provides for the addition of a text box at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship reminding all editors of our policies and enforcement mechanisms around decorum.
- Proposals 3 and 3b, initiated by Barkeep49 and Usedtobecool, respectively, provide for trials of discussion-only periods at RfA. The first would add three extra discussion-only days to the beginning, while the second would convert the first two days to discussion-only.
- Proposal 5, initiated by SilkTork, provides for a trial of RfAs without threaded discussion in the voting sections.
- Proposals 6c and 6d, initiated by BilledMammal, provide for allowing users to be selected as provisional admins for a limited time through various concrete selection criteria and smaller-scale vetting.
- Proposal 7, initiated by Lee Vilenski, provides for the "General discussion" section being broken up with section headings.
- Proposal 9b, initiated by Reaper Eternal, provides for the requirement that allegations of policy violation be substantiated with appropriate links to where the alleged misconduct occured.
- Proposals 12c, 21, and 21b, initiated by City of Silver, Ritchie333, and HouseBlaster, respectively, provide for reducing the discretionary zone, which currently extends from 65% to 75%. The first would reduce it 65%–70%, the second would reduce it to 50%–66%, and the third would reduce it to 60%–70%.
- Proposal 13, initiated by Novem Lingaue, provides for periodic, privately balloted admin elections.
- Proposal 14, initiated by Kusma, provides for the creation of some minimum suffrage requirements to cast a vote.
- Proposals 16 and 16c, initiated by Thebiguglyalien and Soni, respectively, provide for community-based admin desysop procedures. 16 would desysop where consensus is established in favor at the administrators' noticeboard; 16c would allow a petition to force reconfirmation.
- Proposal 16e, initiated by BilledMammal, would extend the recall procedures of 16 to bureaucrats.
- Proposal 17, initiated by SchroCat, provides for "on-call" admins and 'crats to monitor RfAs for decorum.
- Proposal 18, initiated by theleekycauldron, provides for lowering the RfB target from 85% to 75%.
- Proposal 24, initiated by SportingFlyer, provides for a more robust alternate version of the optional candidate poll.
- Proposal 25, initiated by Femke, provides for the requirement that nominees be extended-confirmed in addition to their nominators.
- Proposal 27, initiated by WereSpielChequers, provides for the creation of a training course for admin hopefuls, as well as periodic retraining to keep admins from drifting out of sync with community norms.
- Proposal 28, initiated by HouseBlaster, tightens restrictions on multi-part questions.
To read proposals that were closed as unsuccessful, please see Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/2024 review/Phase I/Closed proposals. You are cordially invited once again to participate in the open discussions; when phase I ends, phase II will review the outcomes of trial proposals and refine the implementation details of other proposals. Another notification will be sent out when this phase begins, likely with the first successful close of a major proposal. Happy editing! theleekycauldron (talk • she/her), via:

Possible article to work on
Hey Beanie. I stumbled upon Fred Davis (defensive lineman) today while while working on adding more details to List of Chicago Bears first-round draft picks. I noticed his article is seriously lacking and, after doing a bit of research, I saw a lot of potential for expansion and possible DYK in its future if you're interested in taking it on. He was listed as having one Pro Bowl, but I found that he was selected to two, he was missing an AP2 for 1948, and it didn't include any mention of the fact he was a tackle for more games than a defensive lineman. So, based on him switching sides of the ball, the accolades, and the fact that I found multiple sources stating he was traded from the Rams to the Bears (1, 2), which there's no mention of, I think there's enough SIGCOV out there to make something of this. Was he signed by the Rams and traded before he could even play a game? What happened there? The trade was announced in July! Anyways, I just thought I'd share what I found with you because I thought you might also find it interesting. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:18, 15 March 2024 (UTC)
- Been busy recently (challenged myself to do an article every day this month, something I've never accomplished before), but I'm sure I'll have enough time at some point to check it out. Thanks! BeanieFan11 (talk) 16:11, 15 March 2024 (UTC)

Misleading?
BF, at WP:RMTR you wrote "An undiscussed controversial draft move by Dicklyon. There's an RM taking place at Talk:CFL Draft." True, but it seems to imply that the move was controversial because of that RM taking place, or that the move was done while the RM was taking place, neither of which is true or sensible. So I'm wondering why you thought it was controversial to move an obviously generic plural to lowercase. Dicklyon (talk) 09:04, 29 March 2024 (UTC)

New Pages Patrol newsletter April 2024
Hello BeanieFan11,
Backlog update: The October drive reduced the article backlog from 11,626 to 7,609 and the redirect backlog from 16,985 to 6,431! Congratulations to Schminnte, who led with over 2,300 points.
Following that, New Page Patrol organized another backlog drive for articles in January 2024. The January drive started with 13,650 articles and reduced the backlog to 7,430 articles. Congratulations to JTtheOG, who achieved first place with 1,340 points in this drive.
Looking at the graph, it seems like backlog drives are one of the only things keeping the backlog under control. Another backlog drive is being planned for May. Feel free to participate in the May backlog drive planning discussion.
It's worth noting that both queues are gradually increasing again and are nearing 14,034 articles and 22,540 redirects. We encourage you to keep contributing, even if it's just a single patrol per day. Your support is greatly appreciated!
2023 Awards
Onel5969 won the 2023 cup with 17,761 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 50/day. There was one Platinum Award (10,000+ reviews), 2 Gold Awards (5000+ reviews), 6 Silver (2000+), 8 Bronze (1000+), 30 Iron (360+) and 70 more for the 100+ barnstar. Hey man im josh led on redirect reviews by clearing 36,175 of them. For the full details, see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone for their efforts in reviewing!
WMF work on PageTriage: The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers deployed the rewritten NewPagesFeed in October, and then gave the NewPagesFeed a slight visual facelift in November. This concludes most major work to Special:NewPagesFeed, and most major work by the WMF Moderator Tools team, who wrapped up their major work on PageTriage in October. The WMF Moderator Tools team and volunteer software developers will continue small work on PageTriage as time permits.
Recruitment: A couple of the coordinators have been inviting editors to become reviewers, via mass-messages to their talk pages. If you know someone who you'd think would make a good reviewer, then a personal invitation to them would be great. Additionally, if there are Wikiprojects that you are active on, then you can add a post there asking participants to join NPP. Please be careful not to double invite folks that have already been invited.
Reviewing tip: Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages within their most familiar subjects can use the regularly updated NPP Browser tool.
Reminders:
- You can access live chat with patrollers on the New Pages Patrol Discord.
- Consider adding the project discussion page to your watchlist.
- To opt out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.

Seeking your opinion
Your thoughts on this? Thanks. X (talk) 10:32, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Xkalponik: Interesting idea; although I wonder exactly how it'd work in practice. E.g. say Fleur van Dooren had been deleted (looks like it won't be). If I was deleted, and I had it restored to draftspace, what would I need to do to get it returned to mainspace? BeanieFan11 (talk) 16:55, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- @BeanieFan11, Not much. If the article is relatively well written, and sourcing is also unproblematic, then there's not much edit needed in the draft except attributing the OG. The reason I mentioned in the criteria that a refund has to come as a draft first is that a draft is a precondition for assessing the quality of the article and identifying and correcting or making adjustments. If a draft is nearly flawless, then be it, just attribute and move to mainspace. Nothing is final here. Please feel free to share your thoughts or edit the project page if you wish to insert your viewpoints. Nonetheless, I appreciate your interest in it. I hope I'll get more editors' opinions on this. Regards. X (talk) 17:07, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- @BeanieFan11, For consistency, can we continue this discussion in the project's talkpage? I'm taking liberty in copying this discussion to the talk page of the project. X (talk) 17:09, 19 April 2024 (UTC)

Reviewing my pages
Hi.
I remembered that you defended me when I was blocked since you had reviewed many of my articles as a member of NPP and that "they always have appeared excellent and of subjects we need". Well… I am about to embark on another “insane streak of creations” between today and 31 May, at a rate of over two pages per day (I have everything scheduled).
So stay tuned if you are interested in reviewing my pages and once I am done, we can perhaps talk about that barnstar you mentioned (PS: The last phrase was a joke; I am not doing this for barnstars).
Kind Regards. Barr Theo (talk) 22:30, 20 April 2024 (UTC)

Requested clippings
Hey there, Beanie. Do you mind making a couple of Newspapers.com clippings for me? I've been unable to regain access for some time now.
- CSUMB taps new basketball coaches
- Jimenez thrilled to get chance to get chance to build program
- Ventura native takes new job
Thank you and happy editing. JTtheOG (talk) 21:55, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
- @JTtheOG: See [1] / [2] / [3]. Are you able to access the www-newspapers-com.wikipedialibrary.idm.oclc.org site? If so, are you logged-in to an account? BeanieFan11 (talk) 22:03, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, I'm able to get access the site but I am no longer able to log in. I also tried going in through WP:LIBRARY and clicking "access collection," but it does not let me access my account. JTtheOG (talk) 19:35, 26 April 2024 (UTC)
- @JTtheOG: At the top right of the website there should be something that says "Sign in" – what happens when you click on that? BeanieFan11 (talk) 19:37, 26 April 2024 (UTC)
- It asks for my username and password but does not accept my credentials, nor am I receiving the recovery email to reset my password. I have contacted Samwalton9, though, so hopefully I can get it figured out. JTtheOG (talk) 19:44, 26 April 2024 (UTC)
- @JTtheOG: Do you have the thing set where your computer automatically fills the username / password in? BeanieFan11 (talk) 19:46, 26 April 2024 (UTC)
- @JTtheOG: Actually, I think either way, try this: make sure your email and password are correctly entered in, then erase them, then add them back again. Let me know if that works. BeanieFan11 (talk) 19:50, 26 April 2024 (UTC)

Question about Photo Copyrights for a 1952 Hawaii newspaper photo with no copyrightmark
BeanieFan11-- You seem well skilled and informed. Would a photo taken from a 1952 newspaper article with no copyright mark or editor name, still be in the Public Domain since Hawaii was actually only a U.S. territory and not a state in 1952? As in, "This work is in the public domain because it was published in the United States between 1929 and 1977 inclusive, without a copyright notice."
This work is in the public domain because it was published in the United States between 1929 and 1977 inclusive, without a copyright notice. Unless the author has been dead for several years, it is not in the public domain in countries that do not apply the rule of the shorter term for US works. This includes Canada, China (not Hong Kong, Macao, or Taiwan Area), Germany, Mexico, Switzerland, and other countries with individual treaties. See also further explanation. |
Dcw2003 (talk) 22:03, 25 April 2024 (UTC)dcw2003, Any response would be immensely appreciated
- @Dcw2003: Hi. I'm not the best with image copyright rules, but looking at the tag, I'd think if it has no copyright notice and in Hawaii it'd still qualify; the tag seems to say just that it needs to be published in the United States, not that it needs to be published in a state in the United States. BeanieFan11 (talk) 22:06, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
- Dcw2003, if a copyright notice appeared anywhere in a printed newspaper of that era, it applied to the entire newspaper. It was common to have had a copyright notice on an inside page along with the paper's address, phone numbers, editorial staff and so on. In the US, this is called a "masthead" but that means something else in the UK. So, the lack of a copyright notice in a single article means little. Cullen328 (talk) 22:23, 25 April 2024 (UTC)
