Unanimous AA
It's the pain in the *** again!
Saw what you added to the project page. I'm editing articles and infoboxes when I see them to what you put there. Of course, I came across pages that have a link solely for 'Unanimous All-American', like Lawrence Taylor.
Do you say the Taylor way or separate unanimous from All-American? Bringingthewood (talk) 03:09, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Bringingthewood: I'd go the Taylor route. Anything else seems to go against MOS:SPECIFICLINK (if linking only to College Football All-America Team) or MOS:SEAOFBLUE if using back-to-back links.—Bagumba (talk) 03:31, 24 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hoping you'd say that. I just saw Aaron Donald is the Taylor way. That's that.
- First, second, and consensus is easy enough.
- Glad you added that, so many pages have different AA links from article to infobox.
- Time to leave you alone again.
- Thanks! Bringingthewood (talk) 03:46, 24 March 2023 (UTC)

The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Jaylen Clark. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Jaylen Clark), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Changes
Hi Bagumba
Just wondering if something changed on the site since last night. My watchlist, contribution page etc. have different looks to them.
I won't go into details in case it's a known thing already. My guess is that I hit something that triggered this yesterday.
I was hoping that if it's just me, there would be access that only you see.
Thanks in advance— Preceding unsigned comment added by Bringingthewood (talk • contribs) 03:41, 7 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Bringingthewood: Perhaps take a look at Wikipedia:Village_pump_(technical)#Watchlist. Good luck.—Bagumba (talk) 05:51, 7 April 2023 (UTC)
Thanks for the link, I'll try just about anything. Everything has been cleared (cookies, cache etc.) This response I have to edit, there's no reply button. My watchlist doesn't clear what I already read, no live update option. Edits no longer show the advanced, symbols etc tab at the top. Sorry if I deleted something in this message. Doesn't pay to go back and forth until something is fixed. So I'll leave you alone for now, lol. Thanks again. John — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bringingthewood (talk • contribs) 02:21, 8 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Bringingthewood: No worries. Definitely post details at the Village Pump link if you still have issues. There's more technical experts available there. Best.—Bagumba (talk) 03:12, 8 April 2023 (UTC)
Will do. Thanks for the info. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bringingthewood (talk • contribs) 03:48, 8 April 2023 (UTC)

- @Bringingthewood: Cringe. The internet (and Wikipedia) can be ugly. There was once a time (not too long ago even) that many were still adamant about keeping WP accessible to dial-up users. And now they're forcing people to upgrade their (working) hardware? Good luck.—Bagumba (talk) 09:53, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
Sorry for the delay, I went to Rhode Island Tuesday morning. I'm using a 2007 Dell with Windows Vista. Maybe I'm the one who started the need to upgrade, lol. It took 16 years for me to see that 'tilde' button. How can I get rid of it now? @@
Enjoy your weekend.

- @TonyTheTiger: Looks like you also posted at Wikipedia:Village pump (technical) § I need technical assistance with a note, and it got resolved there. In the future, let people know if you posted it at a wider forum, to avoid duplication of effort (somewhat WP:FORUMSHOP-ish). Regards.—Bagumba (talk) 05:50, 21 April 2023 (UTC)

- @Illusion Flame: It's configured for pending changes protection, which allow unconfirmed editors to still edit the page, but requires review approval. Request move question
Hey Bagumba, I saw that you added a page to a move request. I wanted to add the rest of the drafts from the table in List of NFL drafts to the nomination (as well as the move discussion notices to the pages), but I'm not very well versed in move request discussions. Is this inappropriate or bad etiquette, or would I be okay to go ahead and do this? I think the discussion affects all of those articles, so it makes sense to add them, but I wanted to ask somebody before I went ahead with expanding the request from 10 articles to 96 (99 total NFL Draft articles, 67–69 are already lowercase though). Hey man im josh (talk) 13:02, 27 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Hey man im josh: I think they were not included to avoid the busy work, as the nom makes it clear that the discussion is intended for all related NFL articles. I wouldn't think it should be controversial if you add it and provided a similar explanation, "feel free to revert", etc. YMMV. —Bagumba (talk) 17:02, 27 April 2023 (UTC)
Leave it up to me
Not sure what the hell I was looking at. If you want to remove what you typed, please do. I guess that will save confusion.
I'm guessing I saw that you reverted a Dicklyon edit back to caps and read this "while "NFL Draft" refers to a drawing including the words NFL Draft" ... somehow I jumped the gun and thought caps was a rule. Stupid me.
Sorry about maybe getting some fingers pointed in your direction. Bringingthewood (talk) 00:45, 29 April 2023 (UTC)
- @Bringingthewood: No worries. Wild discussion. FYI, typically you should follow WP:REDACT when someone has already responded to your comment. In this case, ask the responder first before outright removing your comment, if you didn't want to just strike it through. For various reasons, some might oppose.
- Final point, per Wikipedia:Consensus:
Your vote might be discounted without a more detailed rationale. Best. —Bagumba (talk) 01:03, 29 April 2023 (UTC)Many of these discussions will involve polls of one sort or another; but as consensus is determined by the quality of arguments (not by a simple counted majority), polls should be regarded as structured discussions rather than voting.
Got it all. Thank you. I wanted to strike it ... then realized my computer may take 20 edits to do that. So I kind of hoped nobody saw it. That's why I responded right away, not to make it look like you responded to thin air. Trust me, this will not happen again.
So I guess the reason "don't fix what's not broken" won't fly for a reason? I liked that your revert went back to caps. I thought a vote was a vote. No need to get into anything here, I understand what you just said and I'm also going to look at the link you sent me.
Thanks for giving me a heads-up on things. It is better hearing it from you first. Bringingthewood (talk) 01:18, 29 April 2023 (UTC)

NBA rivalries
I assume you are well aware of WP:NOTSTATS and WP:FANCRUFT. Listing statistics takes away the focus on the rivalry. Did you see how much space the statistics tables took? – sbaio 14:50, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Sbaio: I think the page is in line with WP:NOTSTATS:
...articles with statistics should include explanatory text providing context.
Key seasons are in prose, and the stats supplement the prose. I agree that the individual games are trivial, and did not restore those game scores.—Bagumba (talk) 15:34, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
Time to find sources
Regarding this comment: I'm kind of reluctant to quote my own words from the FAQ at this point in time, as a lot of conversations have occurred in the meantime, and I don't have a good sense on whether or not consensus has changed for some of it. In particular, I get the sense there's less patience now for allowing appropriate sources to be located. And the portion in parenthesis on figures from the past has never really been tested. I suspect a full discussion of it now would discard that part. isaacl (talk) 02:59, 6 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Isaacl: Which is why I prefaced with "FWIW". Given the current climate at NSPORTS, I suspect that most of the FAQ is dated.—Bagumba (talk) 03:31, 6 May 2023 (UTC)
- Well, from what discussion has occurred after the changes, editors who still see value in sports-specific guidelines have been continuing to follow the predictor approach. But there is an increasing number of editors who would rather just rely on the general standards for having an article, without any specialization for sport topics. We'll see how policies and guidelines change as the population of Wikipedia editors who like to discuss these matters shift in composition. isaacl (talk) 05:15, 6 May 2023 (UTC)

Thanks
I didn't notice it had been posted after all, it was archived under a "needs decision" header. To avoid such confusion, please could you post decisions on WP:ITN/C rather than archive pages going forward, archives aren't supposed to be edited. Cheers — Amakuru (talk) 16:42, 30 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Amakuru: No worries. WP:IAR confusion. Sorry for being a stickler with not posting earlier. But WP:STUB offers leeway, and it was rare that so many were still calling a "non-stub" a "stub" still, even after expansion. Best. —Bagumba (talk) 16:58, 30 May 2023 (UTC)
- Yeah, fair's fair. I don't know what it was about that one. I've seen much more stubby things outside of the usual range before, or articles with barely anything on someone's "career" when that's what they're notable for. I just thought this one was reasonably comprehensive that's all! Cheers — Amakuru (talk) 17:45, 30 May 2023 (UTC)

Iso
I'd forgotten you'd allowed ISO (disambiguation) to include a link to Glossary of basketball terms#I so I just tried another tack to include the specific usage I encountered and started to understand via Wiki. This time I simply added a cite to the abbreviated term in the glossary. I do think being able to read the usage in a specific context helps if one, as I, knows nothing of the terminology to start. If you think it too is 'trivial' I'll try to let it go. Swliv (talk) 22:44, 27 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Swliv: An entry to the glossary is fine. I know dictionaries have examples of usage, but Wikipedia is not a dictionary, and typically don't see usage examples in WP glossaries either. Regards.—Bagumba (talk) 12:24, 29 May 2023 (UTC)
- I hear you and can't argue the point further. I'd rather you not remove the cite and, if you do, that you cite a policy backing your 'typical' statement rather than just calling the cite 'trivial' but I won't go further with my effort for now if you do remove it. (I'm certainly not out to imitate dictionaries; but maybe I'll take the cite to Wiktionary if I can manage it; Wikt- is not a regular venue for my work.) Thanks. Swliv (talk) 18:47, 4 June 2023 (UTC)

Maybe I'm missing it
Hi Bagumba
I may have worded it wrong in the summary. I didn't mean (changing the link), I meant not linking the word 'All-'. I'm just adding the word All- before the link. I'm pretty sure we both have it going to that certain Pac-12 page.
I've done dozens of these. Like the NFL infobox shows .. I would change for example:
Second-team All-Bagumba
to
Second-team All-Bagumba
That's it. It still goes to the Bagumba page.
It was just to have ALL listed before the link. Not a real link change.
Please look at this for me. Bringingthewood (talk) 01:25, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Bringingthewood: Sorry, if I wasn't clear. This is a case of MOS:EGG, where the piped link text should match its destination. In this case, the link is to an all-confernece page, not just to the conference, so the entire "All-Pac-12" should be piped. It's different for conferences that don't already have a respective all-conference page (that brings up MOS:PARTIALNAMELINK, which is another story...) —Bagumba (talk) 01:35, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
So you're saying that this player here that I did Craig Novitsky should be reverted? It does go to the list of teams, but it's kind of one of those violations I'll never understand, lol? Bringingthewood (talk) 01:38, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
I was just doing it for looks. So it looked like the NFLINFOBOX. Bringingthewood (talk) 01:39, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Bringingthewood: Yes, same applies to Novitzky. For the NFLINFOBOX example, it should link to the more specific List of All-SEC football teams, piping "All-SEC" e.g. All-SEC. Think of it as "what you see is what you get", from the reader's perspective. If I already knew what SEC was, I wouldn't waste time clicking on plain "SEC". But if I saw "All-SEC", maybe I'd want more info on it.—Bagumba (talk) 02:06, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
Okay, I'm getting it now. Well, not going to touch those anymore. Another thing I did in the past was to change Super Bowl champion to Super Bowl champion. When NFLINFOBOX had Super Bowl separate from champion, I figured I was correcting it. To change it now would be in the minority. This one seems a bit more difficult being there are two ways? One should be the correct one. Bringingthewood (talk) 02:17, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Bringingthewood: Same issue at NFLINFOBOX. It has "Super Bowl champion", but a more MOS:SPECIFICLINK exists, so might be better as Super Bowl champion, which is what NBA articles do. —Bagumba (talk) 02:24, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
- Actually, should just be plain link to the redirect Super Bowl champion (MOS:NOPIPE) —Bagumba (talk) 02:32, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
You better change that one also .. I'm not get blamed for it, lol. We'll need a work project formed to get the thousands we did to get changed over. All the new pages are being created one way. Looks like many don't know about NFLINFOBOX, sorry to say. Bringingthewood (talk) 02:29, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Bringingthewood: Historically, there havent many active participants on WP:NFL, more just drive-by editors on NFL pages. A lot of people just recycling exising (bad) formats. —Bagumba (talk) 02:36, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Bringingthewood: I've tweaked NFLINFOBOX for SB champ[1]—Bagumba (talk) 11:12, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
We need a big refresh button for these player pages. I had to send a message when I saw your revert. Didn't want you to think -- John's bored and making a mess again!
Thanks for explaining the situation. Bringingthewood (talk) 02:45, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
This is going to really get some people, lol. Are you going to do edits regarding SB? I ask because I didn't see it on Ryan Clark's page. Or is it a going forward thing? And this I ask because if I go through hundreds, there may be reverts etc. There are a ton of SB champions. If people don't have NFLINFOBOX on their watchlist ... just saying. What do you suggest? Bringingthewood (talk) 00:12, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Bringingthewood: Technically, I edited Clark before I updated NFLINFOBOX lol. As for SB edits, I cite WP:CHOICE. I don't see it being a priority for me, but will change them as I see and remember it. If that's a problem, feel free to revert at NFLINFOBOX, or let me know. I know what you mean about potential reactions. WP:BRD, and pick and choose your battles. Hope that helps, but probably not the definitive answer any of us ideally would hope for. Sometimes I think it's better for pages to be occasionally correct than consistently wrong. And there is no deadline. —Bagumba (talk) 01:35, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
HA! Now that was a good answer. That was my next question, I sometimes cite NFLINFOBOX (maybe someone will actually look at it). Remember how we met? I never looked, lol. Heck no, I won't revert what you did. Besides I asked you to do that one instead of myself, and feel free to burn this whole discussion whenever you want to. Fantastic way of thinking! I agree 100%! I see WP: and MOS: in my sleep. The blame is on you for that one. :) Bringingthewood (talk) 02:16, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
Explain please.
Please, if you have noticed some which are not referenced name them. We will add them. As well, why would you make us go through the whole article and add the references again when they are already present throughout? And why didn't you say something earlier if you are so insistent upon it? this rule you came up with just added loads of work to just repeat what is already present throughout the body of work. Spirit Fox99 (talk) 03:39, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Spirit Fox99: Thanks for discussing this. On the one hand, you seem to accept that there are likely items not referenced, but then say that "they are already present throughout". If someone removes a tag, it's their responsibility to confirm that there was not a problem. It's ok to leave it for someone else to check. There is no deadline. Wikipedia is based on the verifiability policy. If something is contested, sources should eventually be added. I don't understand about "saying something earlier". Can you clarify? Thanks. —Bagumba (talk) 04:23, 5 June 2023 (UTC)

- Following an RfC, editors indefinitely site-banned by community consensus will now have all rights, including sysop, removed.
- As a part of the Wikimedia Foundation's IP Masking project, a new policy has been created that governs the access to temporary account IP addresses. An associated FAQ has been created and individual communities can increase the requirements to view temporary account IP addresses.

Infobox legislative election: outgoing and elected MPs
Hi, I saw that you are able to edit the legislative infobox, therefore I have a pleasure to ask you: could you implement the infobox with the outgoing and elected MPs, as per consensus in the Rfc in this talk page? Thanks! Scia Della Cometa (talk) 16:56, 8 June 2023 (UTC)

High school city/state removal
Hello B ... it's the PITA again.
I like the few pages I saw that had the high school city and state removed when it's the same as their date of birth. Is there one of those MOS: deals that I can use when doing that? Asking because I know there's an editor that has a strong opinion on using the state abbreviation in parentheses. Honestly, I liked that one also.
For instance -- John: Born in Bronx, New York. High school: Bronx (Bronx, New York). I believe you, personally, would leave just the high school name. Great, I won't need to remove duplicate links etc. The other editor would have high school: Bronx (NY).
One thing I'll say now, whatever you choose to discuss about this matter, I'll probably leave his team alone, lol. Not asking to stir up the pot. It's for other players in general.
Speak with you soon. Bringingthewood (talk) 23:22, 11 June 2023 (UTC)
- At the documentation for Template:Infobox NFL biography, the example for HS does not use the two-letter state abbrev. There was a discussion a few years ago to stop using the cryptic <city> (<state abbrev>) <school name> format. Someone else later (I'd have to dig) suggested that HS name being same as city birthplace is obvious, and (city, state) doesnt need repeating. That seemed like common sense, but might have never had formal support, but no formal rejections either, IIRC. The state abbrev thing is presumptuous for non-Americans, but some editors edit as if all readers are American NFL fans, or say a guideline doesn't say "must" to WP:WIKILAWYER. In any event, there's WP:DR, to break open if emergency. Best. —Bagumba (talk) 02:00, 12 June 2023 (UTC)
Thank you for that. I'm a big T. J. Watt fan and it's annoying me seeing Pewaukee three times in the infobox, lol. Didn't want to delete and run ... and hear it later from someone. If you want to edit that page ... it would be a good thing. Just saying. Finish your Sunday. That message below was an add-on earlier. No rush. Bringingthewood (talk) 02:17, 12 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Bringingthewood: Be bold. It's OK. A revert is not the end the world.—Bagumba (talk) 02:31, 12 June 2023 (UTC)
Different subject. What do you think about this one?
Dennis Golden Remove the neighborhood and make it Queens, New York, U.S.? Brooklyn and Queens have neighborhoods, it's nice they're exact locations, but not sure about the rules. Bringingthewood (talk) 00:58, 12 June 2023 (UTC)
- @Bringingthewood: Or just NYC (or is it NYC, NY). Coincidentally, there's an ongoing discussion at Template talk:Infobox person § How narrowly to read "city" of birth/death? —Bagumba (talk) 02:35, 12 June 2023 (UTC)
Yeah, NYC is a whole different animal. I'm living proof. Telling me to be bold is scary, but I went to his page already. The article is Bayside, nice and exact. But I made the infobox Queens, New York, U.S. I've seen the boroughs listed before, what the hell. I like using the borough name .. some think birth place NYC, NY covers Manhattan. It's New York, NY. (New York City is all five boroughs).
Like you said, a revert won't kill me. Annoy yes. Thanks again. Bringingthewood (talk) 02:43, 12 June 2023 (UTC)

Goodenough Closure
I had just wanted to ask you if you would reconsider closure on the Goodenough item at ITN, which I feel was premature. It was closed within 48 hours with what I can see as a 11-7 sentiment in favor (including three supports before there was clearly a blurb, but at least one of those suggests a clear sentiment in favor of posting). I think it would have been prudent to leave the discussion open for a little longer, as some blurbs have recently (namely those with less of a consensus against and work still continuing on the RD nom). I was considering BOLDly reopening, but figured this was in poor taste given I was involved in the discussion. Thanks for your consideration. DarkSide830 (talk) 16:34, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
- @DarkSide830: Thanks for discussing this. The first three supports were purely for the RD, since the blurb had not been proposed yet. I left a comment there that said as much. As for the timing, WP:ITNA reads:
—Bagumba (talk) 16:40, 28 June 2023 (UTC)If there is not consensus to post the item and the nomination has had suitable time to run (generally 24 hours), nominations can be closed
- Okay. Just wanted to mention it because I had figured the discussion could have used a little more time, but that's okay. DarkSide830 (talk) 17:14, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
NBA Playoffs Games (Played and Started) Leaders in a Given Year
I would like to ask whether playoffs game played and started leaders in a given year could be listed as a statistic leader, and could you explain the reason if couldn't. Thanks. 爨龘龘 (talk) 10:16, 30 June 2023 (UTC)

DYK for Dick Linthicum
On 13 July 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Dick Linthicum, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that prior to his career in the CIA, Dick Linthicum played basketball at UCLA and became the university's first All-American in any sport? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Dick Linthicum. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Dick Linthicum), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Overkill?
Hope you're doing well, B.
I went to the Marvin Gaye page to link D.C. and LA only. I saw a warning in the Marvin Gaye edit section, I had an idea who it was but checked it out anyway. Neveselbert seems to take this to a new level. Are we really doing things correctly in the sports world? This isn't the the first overlink warning I've seen from this user. Just wanted to check first. I'm all for being bold now, lol. Bringingthewood (talk) 01:21, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Bringingthewood: Hidden comments aren't that uncommon (MOS:COMMENT), if that was your question. —Bagumba (talk) 02:30, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
No, no ... hiding things are all well and good. It was just those comments for Marvin Gaye among dozens of others were for just the 'do not link'.. city etc. I don't see why we can't for NYC and L.A. like we do it for sports. I don't mean the state, just the city. I do know rhat editors type things for others in the box for reasons, if it makes sense. But I don't see overlink in this case. But this editor is all for it. Bringingthewood (talk) 02:41, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
I always thought Los Angeles, California was fine. Linking both ... a no-no .. okay. But no links at all because of an OVERLINK rule? Bringingthewood (talk) 02:43, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Bringingthewood: Some might even remove "California" per Template:Infobox person:
Omit unnecessary or redundant details. For example, it is not necessary to state: New York City, New York, United States when New York City, U.S. conveys essentially the same information more concisely."
—Bagumba (talk) 02:59, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
Bottom line, if you wanted to link LA and NYC on his page .. would you? Or would you obey the message? Rule or not? Bringingthewood (talk) 02:46, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Bringingthewood: Are you disagreeing with MOS:OVERLINK? Or do you think it is being interpreted incorrectly? —Bagumba (talk) 03:06, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
Not disagreeing with the link or the interpretation. Just the way this editor is using it. Marvin Gaye has a naked-looking birth and death. I wanted to link just NYC and LA, not the state, like we both would have done here with the NBA and NFL. I saw his message next to the date's .. "Do not etc.... due to MOS:OVERLINK". I never saw this specified by any other editor here. I wasn't in the mood for an argument. But I wanted to be correct in my reply. To me an overlink would be city and state ... but not to touch either ... I'm not getting it. All I'm asking is if I link the cities, would he be correct in coming back at me? Here comes that leg to stand on again. Bringingthewood (talk) 03:17, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Bringingthewood: If he disagreed with you, "coming back" at you would be a part of normal Wikipedia:Dispute resolution. A note was left, and you seem to have identified it's originator. Perhaps discuss it directly with them, or discuss at a wider audience, like the MOS's talk page. FWIW, I think they are interpreting MOS:OL as it's currently written. If you think an exception is warranted, perhaps you'd need to provide a rationale to modify the MOS. If it was up to me, enough drive-by editors will link it for "consistency", so just avoid the churn. But this is crowdsourced and we operate on consensus. —Bagumba (talk) 03:33, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
I do appreciate your input, years back on Answers.com I would always ask questions directed towards their CA's. I'm not in the mood to get blocked from another site due to me losing my temper. Marvin Gaye is a trivial thing, besides I see many pages who have no links for LA and NYC. I add the city and sometimes an editor thanks me and other times they remove them. So be it. I like the being bold deal and having the page look better. But when I saw a "DO NOT" there .. that gets to me. An editor better be very sure of what they have to say after typing that, lol. I think I'll leave it alone for now. That user did grab a football player a month ago, but I put it back, and also notified Yankees10 to keep a look out. (I mean what's right is right) :).
Thank you once again for letting me invade your weekend. Past performances got me walking on eggshells and I truly hate the way that feels. Bringingthewood (talk) 03:54, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Bringingthewood: It's inevitable that one will get "slapped" now and then for being bold. Just avoid edit warring and be WP:CIVIL, then blocks won't be a prob.—Bagumba (talk) 04:10, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
You got it. Thanks again! Bringingthewood (talk) 04:11, 15 July 2023 (UTC)
You may want to ....
I saw 'nowrap' that you do for high school and now I do, reversed to 'br' for Paul Krause. I wanted to send a message to that editor, and then for another reason. Maybe you didn't see the response you received for your Dec. 2022 message to him. It's not appropriate and doesn't shed a good light without a response. If you did see it, you're a much better man than I am. Bringingthewood (talk) 23:12, 16 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Bringingthewood: Ultimatately, WP:BLOCKPREVENTATIVE applies to old comments. I don't tend to watchlist users I've warned. As for the "br", there's a good set of NFL editors that blindly revert to old styles. So I'm leading by example...until it makes sense not to. Not an NFL editor, per se, but there's one admin even who regularly violates WP:NOTBROKEN. "Pick your battles" is an appropriate adage for WP. Thanks for the concern. —Bagumba (talk) 23:56, 16 July 2023 (UTC)
The br -- nowrap wasn't the real reason I dropped by. You're welcome for the concern, but honestly, I know lines could be drawn through comments. You did it on my page. I curse like a truck driver, but profanity on a talk page? And left there so it looks like someone can do this at will? Nahhh. Yet we can bother a poor IP user for adding something stupid. I mean really, too many rules here and not many that hit home. I don't have many friends so I take it personally when I see crap like this. And yes, this is how I was eventually blocked on Answers.com. Catch you later. Bringingthewood (talk) 00:07, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Bringingthewood: It can't hurt if the followup is from an uninvolved editor,
let aloneas opposed to a perceived WP:INVOLVED "threatening authoritative" figure. Makes for a stronger community. Thanks for that. Best. —Bagumba (talk) 01:00, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
