Maa Shakti
Arjayay Hello, I am Wikiuser829, I am contacting you once again. As you know, I had created a page on Wikipedia in the name of Maa Shakti. My first article was rejected, so I have made this second page, in which I have added references and infobox. If you are the admin of Wikipedia or in the contact of any admin, please see this page and tell me whether it is ok or not. Let me tell one more information that this serial was popular in India, but i don't know there are very less information related to it is not available and whatever it is there are mistakes in them, so I want this page to be approved as soon as possible. The Link: [[1]] Thank you

Firstly, as I have asked you before, please sign all posts on talk pages (but NOT in articles) with 4 tildes ( ~~~~ ) which will add your signature and a timestamp
As for your draft, I previously advised you to :- " add references to support all the information, from WP:Reliable sources, not social media, not Wikipedia, IMDB or other user created websites and not tabloid papers or coffee table magazines."
- Of the 4 "references" in Draft:Maa Shakti, one is to IMDB and 2 are to Twitter, so these are not acceptable, as is explained above. The remaining reference is to nettv4u.com, which is clearly listed at WP:ICTFSOURCES as a site which should not be considered as a reliable source. Your draft, therefore, has no reliable sources, so it remains totally unacceptable. - Arjayay (talk) 09:10, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
User:Arjayay I have told you already na, there is much information on web, as it's a under-rated serial, tell me what other can do, for making it acceptable? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikiuser829 (talk • contribs) 09:18, 28 October 2021 (UTC)

If there is no information, then you cannot create an acceptable article, because, as explained at WP:42, all articles require significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject.
What can you do about it? nothing, just accept it and move on to another subject. - Arjayay (talk) 09:22, 28 October 2021 (UTC)

Review article Ali Tajdary
hello. Have a good time, i wrote an article about (Ali Tajdary), the article had problems, i fixed them, i added the appropriate links and removed the duplicate links, one of the administrators reviewed it before i edited it, and he said he could not comment on it and was not sure about it, could you review it? Actively editing Changangkha Lhakhang
Hi Arjayay - I'n actively editing this article which has an "In Use" template applied. Your removing one duplicated word caused an editing conflict and the loss of a bunch of work. Kindly look over the article again when I'm done and the In Use template has been removed. Thanks. Chris Fynn (talk) 17:40, 5 November 2021 (UTC)
- Chris Fynn - when it says "♦♦♦ Please put new posts at the BOTTOM of the page and include a title set between double == signs ♦♦♦" guess what you are supposed to do?
As for your question - I edit by section so your "in-use" template does not appear when I edit, or preview - I have raised this problem before, but apparently there is currently no easy solution to it - Arjayay (talk) 20:49, 5 November 2021 (UTC)

As for your question - facebook is very rarely considered a reliable source as it is user edited. As for reubenabati.com.ng and emeraldng.com I have never come across either, the first has only 9 uses on Wikipedia, and the second only 1, so I suspect neither is a reliable source - Arjayay (talk) 20:59, 5 November 2021 (UTC)
The Union (Marvel Team) image
I need advice on adding images to the article.
I have previously added images but they were removed, there were no other images available, I distorted and altered the images so they didn’t look like the original image and therefore could not be used for plagiarism etc. Do you know how I can apply images and avoid this problem.ChefBear01 (talk) 14:20, 7 November 2021 (UTC)
- Hi ChefBear01 - images are not my strong point, and, as your images were deleted, I can't see them to know what was wrong. However, from this edit summary I suspect that you uploaded the images to Commons, not en.wikipedia.
Commons does not accept copyright images, but en.wikipedia accepts some under a claim of "fair-use" please see Wikipedia:Non-free content and Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria for the detailed explanations. Normally only one image per article is accepted, not galleries of images, it also has to be low resolution and have a detailed rationale as to why it is believed the use in a particular article constitutes fair-use.
As an example, please see File:Abomination (Emil Blonsky).jpg (chosen solely because it was near the top of the "Marvel Comics superheroes" list) - if you get stuck, I would contact one of the editors who have uploaded such images (I don't know NeoBatfreak, who uploaded that image, but they have been active today) - Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 15:26, 7 November 2021 (UTC)

Reason for Changes
How could we expect a source foe these villages? I know about this village as I have lived there.. what more source do we need? NitishGPRS (talk) 01:54, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
- NitishGPRS - Wikipedia is not interested in who you are, where you are from, what you "know", what you have been told, or even what you have found out.
Wikipedia is only interested in what has already been published in reliable, independent sources published by a body with a reputation for fact-checking - No blogs, no self-published sources, no bodies with a conflict of interest, no promotional sites no vanity publishers, no predatory publishers.
If there are no such reliable sources, then you simply cannot add the "information" as Verifiability is one of Wikipedias Core content policies and is non-negotiable.
What can you do about it? Nothing. Just accept it and move on to another subject, which is covered by published reliable, independent sources. - Arjayay (talk) 09:33, 9 November 2021 (UTC)

Redirects
On your userpage, you write: I Dislike Wikipedia keeping misspelt articles as redirects, which leads to more uses of the same misspelling, as editors copy the spelling in a green link.
This is an excellent point, but what would you do about it? This is a serious question, as I support your thinking, but wonder if changing the practice is worth the inconvenience to readers who can't spell? Unschool 18:07, 25 November 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Unschool - thanks for the question.
From the page history, I see that I added that on 5 November 2013, so can't remember what specifically prompted it.
Somewhere, a long time ago, but I can't find exactly where, I suggested a pop-up instead of an automatic redirect. So, if you added a misspelt word (some Americans dislike "misspelt", but it is correct British English) or phrase in the search box, it would say "do you mean?" leading to correctly spelt option(s). Some would say that is laborious for the reader, but in some (how many?) cases there is more than one option, so a "hard" redirect will take them to the wrong page, and they then have even more work trying to find the right page (and, whichever, they get a brief spelling lesson on the way).
I can accept that there will be British/US spelling differences (Aluminium / Aluminum) where both are "right", and a redirect is acceptable, I'm only talking about genuine misspellings e.g. Wide reciever which is one of my bug-bears - I think I had to correct 11 of them in one article. Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 18:48, 25 November 2021 (UTC)
Untranslated pages
Pages in a foreign language have a grace period of fourteen days to permit translation or assessment by someone who knows the language in question: see WP:PNT for the correct procedure. They shouldn't be moved to draft, particularly when, as with the page Maria Helena Vaquinhas de Carvalho, translation has begun. Perhaps you would move it back again? Ingratis (talk) 00:42, 26 November 2021 (UTC)
- Apologies - I now see that it's an article that was deleted from pt-Wiki under another title as lacking in sources, so Draft is probably the best place for it. Ingratis (talk) 00:57, 26 November 2021 (UTC)

As for it being "true and fact", you did not provide any reliable, independent, sources to allow people to verify your addition - which is a requirement for all information added to Wikipedia. - Arjayay (talk) 15:00, 26 November 2021 (UTC)

- "Attention editors!
No red links or un-linked entries. Every entry in this list must have an article written in the English Wikipedia, with reliable sources to support inclusion, else it will be removed without warning."
- "Attention editors!
- To continue re-adding a school without an article, despite multiple instructions not to, is disruptive editing for which you could be blocked / banned. - Arjayay (talk) 11:12, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
Help me in publishing my first article
Hii, Arjayay As you reminded me before to not publish any non-notable entity in the List of schools in Delhi affiliated with CBSE. I am sorry for that, as I was new to Wikipedia.
I think you can better help me! I just want to make a Prince Public School identity on Wikipedia, so I explored Wikipedia and found a better way to do that. I made a Wikipedia page, here you can see it here - https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Prince_Public_School Yet, it is in review. I assure you that all the information provided are accurate and does not contain any sponsorship lines. You can review it and help me with creating a page for the school. If anything is wrong, you can edit it or let me know in order to correct it.
Thanks & Regards Aakashverma.av

- Hi Aakashverma.av
Firstly please sign your posts by adding four tildes (~~~~) (or clicking the squiggle third from the left if you are using the editing toolbar), as this adds a correctly formatted signature automatically.
Secondly, please note I am not a new page reviewer, so I cannot review your article.
However, in its current form, it will undoubtedly be refused, as you have not cited any references at all. Please note, we are not interested in what you "know" or what the school says about itself.
The quick guide is WP:42 "Articles require significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject."
Not every school is "notable" enough to have a Wikipedia article, and many school articles are deleted for lack of "notability". To be approved an article must show significant, reliable, independent coverage, which must be cited in the article. Please see Help:Referencing for beginners for the how to guide. - Arjayay (talk) 10:59, 26 November 2021 (UTC)- It might also help if you read Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools/Article advice, and use Template:Infobox school - Arjayay (talk) 11:06, 26 November 2021 (UTC)
- I have just added the draft article template, which includes a button to submit the article for review, when it is ready. As explained above, it is not currently suitable, but most people ignore my advice, click the button and are then disappointed when it is refused - best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 11:11, 26 November 2021 (UTC)
- It might also help if you read Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools/Article advice, and use Template:Infobox school - Arjayay (talk) 11:06, 26 November 2021 (UTC)
Hello, Thanks for your help. Your suggested points helped me a lot and were worthy. I worked & improved the article structure. You can have a look at that, I understand you are not a reviewer. But as a general user, you are the only one in my view, who can tell me that now that article content is good or not. I read your reference about the notability of school, I want to make sure that any lines in that content don't look promoted or sponsored that violates policy. Anyway, I have improved the structure. Thanks Again for your help. Aakashverma.av (talk) 05:53, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
- Aakashverma.av
Your draft still has no reliable, independent sources, whatsoever, let alone a reliable, independent source which gives the school significant coverage.
All your references are from the schools own website - which is clearly not independent, and does not show that the school is "notable" in Wikipedia's meaning of the word. Unless you can find, and cite, such sources, there is no point in continuing to develop your draft as No amount of editing can overcome a lack of notability - best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 12:56, 29 November 2021 (UTC)

Cultivator is a synonym for agriculturist. In some cases you can use "Cultivator" instead a noun "Agriculturist". 2405:201:A40E:7033:C3B:4ADC:8AD2:9E3C (talk) 10:35, 4 December 2021 (UTC)
- IP from Ranchi - If you believe "Cultivator is a synonym for agriculturist" there is no reason for you to repeatedly change the word, which was originally cultivator. However, I do not believe that they are synonyms.
Cultivators were/are basic manual labourers, working for others, not farmers who owned the land, hired cultivators, decided what crops to plant, when and where, etc. which is what agriculturalists would do. I suspect that you know this, which is why you are trying "upgrade" the Kurmi from being cultivators to agriculturists. Please stop. - Arjayay (talk) 11:02, 4 December 2021 (UTC)

Hello Arjayay, Thank you for notifying me on the COI and sorry for the late response, I have recently assumed juristiction of the account from a student project. Please notify me of any, spam or unconstructive edits made by this account. I have taken action and this account is reinstated to a benign degree. Hope to in prospect interact in more positive terms, In dispondent apology, Regards, Montresor MontresorXPL (talk) 12:31, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
- MontresorXPL, I am concerned by your statement "I have recently assumed juristiction of the account from a student project." As stated at WP:ROLE "accounts shared by multiple people, are as a rule forbidden and blocked."
The only person who should be using the account is you, so any "spam or unconstructive edits made by this account" are deemed to have been made by you. Please ensure that the account is not shared with other people. If other people know the password, you should change it to prevent those other people using your account. - Arjayay (talk) 12:45, 5 December 2021 (UTC)- In addition, MontresorXPL, you need to confirm whether you are a "paid editor" i.e. are you employed, directly, or indirectly, by the school that has been repeatedly promoted using that account? If so you must complete a Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure, before making any further edits, and then follow Wikipedia's Wikipedia:Conflict of interest guidelines. - Arjayay (talk) 12:57, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
In regards to your first statement the account is not shared with other people, it was used for a internet project which was a mistake. By project I am referring to a task I was given on improving information about certain areas. I fully understand in hindsight this task should not of been completed within Wikipedia as it does not fully acknowledge the rules and regulations of the site. In regards to your second statement I have no direct or indirect employment or links to the school. It was simply my decision to use the school as a project and I reiterate that was and is my mistake.
Adisadel College
Hi Arjayay, I noticed you took off some edits of mine on this page with the reason being repetition. I studied past edits of the page and saw that you have taken some interest in the page over some period. I want to clarify that leaving some names under the section Notable alumni is not out of place when there is a main or expansive article. I checked a few well written school pages out before coming to this conclusion. I created the new list page because the list seemed very tall and arranged and I felt it was quite unnecessary to have a tall listing. If the number of names re-listed under the Notable Alumni may have been too many for your liking, I will reduce the names but I feel there has to be something left under the section, otherwise the re-direct should come under a See Also sub-section and the Notable Alumni sub-section closed. Ataavi (talk) 12:52, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Ataavi, the trouble with an "Others include" section is that people will just re-add their favourites/relatives/townspeople and the list will just grow again. Although most of the guidance covers stand-alone lists, rather than embedded lists, you will still need to have agreed inclusion criteria. These criteria should be clearly stated, usually on the talk page, so they can be used as a reason for removing/excluding names. Good luck - Arjayay (talk) 10:46, 7 December 2021 (UTC)

To reiterate myself yet again - the person needs to have their own article on the English Wikipedia, before they are added to a list of notable artists.

Re [2]. Are you sure that's correct? WP:NOINDICSCRIPT says: This avoidance of Indic scripts only applies to articles that are predominantly India-related and is excluded from, among others, articles about Hinduism, Buddhism, or any of India's neighbouring countries.
-- this is an article about a religious practice, so it seems to me the exclusion would apply. ProcrastinatingReader (talk) 14:21, 6 December 2021 (UTC)

Am very sorry for the wrong edit I made, I sincerely apologize. Please I found out that not every tertiary institution in Ogun state was on the list (under Ogun state Wikipedia/tertiary institution).
Institutions like Gateway Polytechnic Saapade, Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic Ijebu-Igbo, DS Adegbenro Polytechnic and Gateway Polytechnic Igbesa was established in 2004/2005 by the government of Gbenga Daniel (former governor of Ogun State).
Please how can I go about that. Please would love to learn how to create a Wikipedia page for the institutions.
Will be glad to get feedback from you.

Don't put any wrong statement in article.
I just want raise a concern over a statement which I think edited by you in that statement you put awadhi as a native language of Azamgarh in "Azamgarh District" page which is totally a false claim in fact Azamgarh falls into a bhojpuri region where majority of people are bhojpuri speakers. If you ever saw mens speaking awadhi in azamgarh they are just migrants from neighbouring district like sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar etc. If you still have any doubt just check these survey reports 1. Sic
Hi. Thanks for your good editing. Minor point here, but I though I should point out MOS:SIC. Specificially "If there is a significant error in the original, follow it with [sic] (producing [sic] ) to show that the error was not made by Wikipedia. However, insignificant spelling and typographic errors should simply be silently corrected (for example, correct basicly to basically)."--2603:7000:2143:8500:6515:C8D4:8E35:FDE7 (talk) 21:35, 31 January 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks IP from New York - I am well aware of MOS:SIC and do, indeed, use both methods, depending on the context. Unfortunately, the word "insignificant" can mean different things to different readers. As this post is your only edit under that IP (presumably you normally use another IP or account), and you have not identified the edit in question, I cannot comment on the specific instance. - Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 21:43, 31 January 2022 (UTC)
- I imagine it is your approach in general, so I wasn't commenting on the specific article, but the approach. I'll have to look for it. But I think it was an article on a Tennessee politician. And that your insertion of sic was not to the article itself. But to a title of a newspaper article, as it appears in a ref. And it was a simply misspelling - I'm not sure that you felt a reader would think it significant, because they would have been easily able to understand what the word was in any event. The only reason I could see for inserting sic would be to try to improve the knowlege of spelling of readership. I'll look for the article if I get a moment if that would help. As to my ip address, and this is not my doing in the least, my computer company changes it on an irregular basis. Best. 2603:7000:2143:8500:4988:58A5:565D:7845 (talk) 23:56, 31 January 2022 (UTC)
- BTW, and I know this could depend on context, and of course I could go to wp:overlink and take up the time of many there and ask, but do you think as a general matter that the phrase "age-appropriate" calls out for linking? Reading wp:overlink, taking note of its reference to "Everyday words understood by most readers in context", I think not. But, even recognizing that you are more (from the above edit) given to mussing with what is written by the source than I am, so you come from the other end of the spectrum perhaps as an activist editor, given your long time at the project I would be interested in your view. Thanks. 2603:7000:2143:8500:4988:58A5:565D:7845 (talk) 23:59, 31 January 2022 (UTC)

- Hi IP from New York - I never change misspellings in reference titles, because, if the existing reference becomes dead, it is far easier to find that article in an online archive when it is spelled exactly as it appeared, rather than "corrected" to a different title.
As for "age-appropriate" I think that is marginal, but personally, I don't think that is covered by "Everyday words understood by most readers in context".
I try and imagine what a reader, whose first language is not English, (a high percentage of our readers) but has an intermediate knowledge of English, and a fairly basic dictionary, would make of it. The overlink examples "education, violence, aircraft, river" they would know, or would be in their dictionary - but "age-appropriate"? I suspect not.
I spend quite some time removing links to basic words, and repeated links, to avoid WP:SEAOFBLUE - some editors seem to think the more blue links the better, and most other language Wikipedias encourage more linking than the English Wikipedia e.g. most would link years and dates - . Edit Action Request Discussion Removal Everett Lee, Conductor from Expatriate Category 1-31-22
Edit Request to Remove Category for Everett Lee, Conductor, American expatriates in Sweden
I have noticed that Wikipedia does not place the majority of the modern day White American and European international conductors of major symphony orchestras and opera companies into the category of “immigrant”, “emigrants” or “expatriate.”
Yet a Wikipedia editor, Sunshineisle2, has singled out Everett Lee, a Black American international symphonic conductor and placed him into the “expatriate” category in Wikipedia on January 30, 2022. At first Sunshineisle2 had placed Lee into an “emigrant” category and I had to request his removal from this category because it was inaccurate. Now Sunshineisle2 has removed Lee from the “emigrant” category and misplaced him in an “expatriate category.”
I sent Sunshineisle2 a talk discussion below asking Sunshineisle2 to remove Everett Lee from this category because it is inaccurate and misinformation.
“American expatriates to Sweden” is incorrect category for Everett Lee, conductor. This category is inaccurate and misinformation. Lee was a lifelong Veteran of the United States Army. Lee worked frequently in the United States as an international conductor and Veteran patriot of the United States. “American expatriates to Sweden” is inaccurate term for Lee because Lee maintained lifelong military Veteran status, close American employment ties and close American family connections in the United States [while at the same time conducting in Europe and South America]. Lee needs to be removed from this category.
Sunshineisle2 responded, Sunshineisle2 will not remove Everett Lee from this expatriate category and suggested I speak to the editors. I see you are a senior editor, so I am bringing this significant problem to your attention.
According to Merriam-Webster dictionary the term “expatriate” has a negative meaning. It can mean: Synonyms for expatriate Synonyms: Verb banish, deport, displace, exile, relegate, transport Synonyms: Noun deportee, émigré (also emigré), evacuee, exile, expat [chiefly British], refugee
None of these negative terms apply to the life and career of Everett Lee. I believe the reasons why he should not be placed in an “immigrant”, “emigrant” or “expatriate” category are because at the same time he worked in Europe and South America he was also working abundantly in the United States as a conductor of orchestras and opera companies. In addition, he never lost his military Veteran, patriotic status. To place him in a category such as this, places a negative stigma on his military record and status. It infers a “negative” not “positive” connotation that he was banned or exiled from the United States, never returning for employment. This is not factual and is misinformation. Lee never stopped working in the United States, so he does not fall into this category.
Lee, who was a Black American conductor has been singled out by Sunshineisle2 who placed him in this category. This is an error that needs to be corrected because this inaccurate category placement and misinformation can blemish and tarnish his career story. Therefore, I am requesting that you as senior editor review this matter and let me know what you decide as soon as possible about removing Everett Lee from the American expatriates in Sweden category. Thank you.Ettezoc243 (talk) 01:29, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
- No Ettezoc243 - I endorse Sunshineisles2's comments. There is no "negative cultural connotation" and I have reverted your category deletion at the Everett Lee article. Please do not remove it again - Arjayay (talk) 10:55, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
RE: How to Dispute an Edit Action Everett Lee, Conductor 2-1-22
Would you please tell me the procedure to dispute this matter of Everett Lee’s removal from the American expatriate in Sweden category? I do not agree with your action and I believe Everett Lee needs to be immediately removed from this category because it is not true. If Wikipedia does keep Everett Lee, a Black conductor in this category, then it should immediately place the bulk of the White European, South American and Asian conductors into an expatriate category, such as Riccardo Muti, Krzysztof Urbanski, Andres Orozco-Estrada, Jaime Martin and Xian Chang. Otherwise, it appears to be racist to single out a Black conductor to apply this term to when this term has negative cultural connotations. This term has duel meaning and interpretation and is opinion-based due to the cultural. Keep in mind when dealing with a Black topic the press and news often slant, or pick up the negative aspect of the topic. They often exaggerate the news and use misinformation in order to create an article using sensationalism to attract public interest. For example, in the recent NY Times article it says Lee “often” conducted jazz concerts in Sweden. As one of Lee’s biographers I know this to be a false statement. In truth Lee only conducted one classical music concert which infused a jazz style into its music. His over 1000 performances were classical. My goal is to help Wikipedia from falling into this trap of sensationalism and slanted or untrue events used by the general media in their news coverage of important Black figures and topics like Everett Lee. Your immediate response to my inquiry is appreciated. Thank you.Ettezoc243 (talk) 12:04, 1 February 2022 (UTC)
Concerned Person
Hello thanks for your good editing work. I noticed you recently reverted my changes to an article on Ikwerre People. The article as I noticed, was written with a political undertone, the article was written about my ethnic people (Ikwerre), by people of an ethic group who historical have been trying to colonize us, and once carried out genocide towards my people. I hope you see the political sensitivity. I find the article totally misleading, and it is wrong that my people's history is written by strangers who have politically subjected my people for decades. This is a politically sensitive subject and I believe you have a good heart to tell how I feel to have my own history written by the oppressors. The Ikwerre is an ethnic nationality speaking Ikwerre language The igbo is an ethnic nationality as well. It does not make sense to subjugate the Ikwerre people under igbos.
Here is a summary of the change I made, 'I removed the personal opinion of the previous writer saying the Ikwerre ethnic nationality belongs to them., even though it legally otherwise. Ikwerre (talk) 22:29, 1 February 2022 (UTC)

Disruption and possible sock puppetry
Hello, I just thought I would bring to your attention recent disruption taking place in Pahari people (Kashmir). You last edited here https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Pahari_people_(Kashmir)&oldid=1070620356 where you removed unsourced addition. Since then the user User:Oliver139 reverted it without providing any sort of explanation or edit summary. Upon my revert, the user User:Pauljemes then also reverted my revert (reinstated the unsourced content), again with no explanation. He then comments on my talk page telling me I should provide my own sources for removing unsourced content (yes, I understand that doesn't make much sense). Upon inspection I realised that both these users have contributed to the same unpublished article "Kabul bukhari" which leads me to suspect that one is either meat puppet or a sock puppet. Disruptive users often make these long chains of edits that are not possible for me to automatically revert so I'm wondering if we should perhaps raise the protection level of the page. I also suggest that these users are to be blocked for the apparent violation of rules. Regards, Foxhound03 (talk) 10:42, 13 February 2022 (UTC)
Adding unsourced content
I requested Foxhound03 not to remove content about 'Lehnda' in article Pahari people (Kashmir)-without citing a reliable source. I stated that the term 'Lehnda' is used for western Punjabi not 'PAHARI'? I want to add that the Lehanda is a well-defined term in linguistic studies.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Pauljemes (talk • contribs)
- (talk page stalker) We require content to have citations to reliable sources. If all this stuff is well-defined and well-known, then why have you not provided the requisite sources instead of blindly reverting? --Orange Mike | Talk 16:00, 13 February 2022 (UTC)
List of Bengalis: Billionaires
Hi Arjayay, This is regarding incorporating "Tapan Chowdhury, CEO and MD of Square Pharmaceuticals, Square Group, Square Hospital and Maasranga Television" as a Billionaire and you have moved him to the "Business Leaders" section with this comment "DaB a link + move section - no mention of being a billionaire in his article, let alone a WP:RS". I respectfully disagree with this edit. For a lot of entrepreneurs and businessmen in South Asia (and might be the case in other parts of the world) running privately held companies, there are few public sources to determine their net worth. They don't get listed on Forbes or Hurun Rich List. Hence the only way to make that distinction is to look at other available information, such as: number of employees, market capitalization, revenues, etc. In this case, Square Pharma, which is just a constituent of Square Group has market cap of $2.4 Bn. (source: https://www.forbes.com/companies/square-pharmaceuticals/?sh=1189cb17611b). Extrapolating this info, Tapan Chowdhury, is a billionaire.
I can provide several examples of other pages which list certain individuals as "Billionaires" based on some of the info sources I have indicated above (see: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/List_of_Tamil_people#Tamil_billionaires). Let me know what you think.

Firstly, please sign all posts on talk pages (but NOT in articles) with 4 tildes ( ~~~~ ) which will add your signature and a timestamp
As for your post - I reiterate, there is no mention of him being a billionaire in his article, let alone a reliable source
Your first suggestion "Extrapolating this info ... " is unacceptable as it fails WP:SYNTHESIS we don't create information as per WP:No original research we merely report what other, WP:reliable sources have already stated.
Your second point that other people have done it, is equally unacceptable per WP:Other Stuff Exists - if someone breaking the rules is an acceptable reason for other people to do so, we have chaos - if someone steals, is it then alright for everyone to steal? - Arjayay (talk) 17:30, 14 February 2022 (UTC)
