Valavanur railway station moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Valavanur railway station, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Chinnababusamudram railway station has been created as a redirect. It appears your draft has not been accepted so therefore may I suggest you delete this page. You can clear the page and add one of the following templates to do so: {{db-author}} {{db-u1}} (without the tlp). You can see page history where I added and reverted info from your draft, should you wish to expand the article. Also, any help you can give in improving the target page would be greatly appreciated. Don't move a page to a different title by copying its content and pasting it into another page, as you did at Valavanur railway station. @Cabayi sir,
Thank you for making this change.
Sir I'll need another help from your side. Recently a close friend of mine @Sanjeev4125 had made new articles on the Vande Bharat Express trains and he's now facing an issue regarding the images due to copyright issues. Among those pictures there was 1 picture which was taken by myself and I had posted this to the VRT team. I informed them that I had given the permission to Sanjeev4125 to use the picture in Wikipedia. Kindly request you to look into this issue and allow @Sanjeev4125 to upload it to the Wiki page. Hoping to get your response soon sir. Thank you. Sameer2905 (talk) 13:49, 16 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Provide links. What issue? There's nothing on his user talk page. I don't have access to the permissions VRT queue. Cabayi (talk) 14:19, 16 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Cabayi sir, the issue was that when Sanjeev was creating the pages and he uploaded the appropriate pictures for those articles, couple of hours later, those images were deleted using the "speedy deletion" method since it was copyrighted from different sources and among those images, he used my picture which I took and is seeking help to retrieve that image back. So I contacted the VRT regarding the issue. I thought that since you might be part of the VRT team, since you helped with the username change, I assumed that you could help me get the solution for this. But it's okay sir. I'll try to figure out someway and grant that permission to him to use it in Wikipedia. Once again thanks for your help.😊😊 Sameer2905 (talk) 14:27, 16 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Hi, please do not make disruptive edits and blind reverts as you did at Coimbatore–Bengaluru Cantonment Vande Bharat Express.

  • Wikipedia is not a personal photo album. If a image is uploaded into common domain, it is about which image is better and relevant. Simply because you took an image does not mean, you get to decide that it should be the one in the infobox. This is strictly not a place for personal preferences and do not push your POV. If all the images are uploaded by you, what is the problem here?
  • As a good practice, there should be no references in the lead as the lead should summarize the article with citations given in the article. Refer to WP:LEAD
  • Every statement needs one credible reference or at most two. Do not add multiple references. Refer to WP:CITEKILL
  • Do not add empty sections as you did with Incidents.
  • Wikipedia needs to follow accepted norms and terminology and do not introduce own terms like "Mini Vande Bharat 2.0 Express train". Also, there needs to be have a cohesive style and do use bold/italics only when necessary.
  • A simple line on testing should suffice as too much trivial information is not required such as detailed timings of test runs etc. which do not add any value. Refer WP:TRIVIA
  • Do not add repetitive information across sections as you did with the name of the halting stations both in the body and in the table.
  • See also section needs to have topics closely related to the article and not a literal list of all express train types in India.

Please do reach out in case of any clarifications and add only information which is relevant.

Meanwhile, please familiarize yourself with WP:3RR. Please do not revert edits without any rationale and discussion, against policies. Magentic Manifestations (talk) 13:36, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dear @Magentic Manifestations,
Except for the incidents section, can't the remaining information be added? And I'm adding the references pertaining to that particular train route. I know that Wikipedia is not a personal photo album. Whatever information I've collected from the higher officials, I'm only adding those relevant information. Kindly allow me to add only the relevant information. Sameer2905 (talk) 13:55, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Sameer2905, Please add whatever you feel is relevant within the ambit of the guidelines explained and do not do wholesale reverts. As I stated earlier, I do not claim myself to be 100% correct and I am trying to maintain the quality of the article. Apart from adding references in the lead and too many citations, you can go ahead and add relevant information to further the article. If you can be a bit more elaborate, I think we can come to a consensus. Looking forward to hearing back. Magentic Manifestations (talk) 14:55, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Then I'll revert back to my version but modify a little bit with relevant information Sameer2905 (talk) 15:04, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've made the changes and whatever relevant information I can keep, I've done that. If any changes to be made, before doing them kindly let me know. Thank you Sameer2905 (talk) 15:12, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, While I appreciate your effort in expanding these rail-related articles, still you have not got most of the points what I tried to convey. I am making select changes and re-explaining the same below. You need to adopt these so that the articles are maintained to the required standard.
  • Please read WP:LEAD; Lead should summarize points from the article and it is good to have no citations in the lead with references incorporated in the article. Moving citations from the lead to the article with relevant statements.
  • In case of citations, please try and include only citations in English. In case if it is not available, we can use other language citations. But as there are many references available here in English, regional language citations are better to be avoided (as audience might not understand).
  • While citing references, please maintain a standard format as a good practice. Use "cite news" for news articles. You can refer to the changes I have made.
  • Please do not include epithets such as "silicon city" which has no intrinsic encyclopedic value.
  • Please try and refrain from using bold lettering in the middle of the article (unless it is for headers, totals etc.). You can use italics if necessary.
  • I have re-added a few points which you had only added previously, say a line on "testing". Also, moving services section before time-table and halts to the section.
If you have any clarifications or comments, let me know.
Magentic Manifestations (talk) 03:49, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hey @Magentic Manifestations,
I'm seeing that you are making changes in all the India-related pages. All edits before yours were being followed and my school friend @Sanjeev4125 is telling me that you are editing unnecessarily in that template. I request you with folded hands to stop touching those wiki templates as they had been kept in terms of the launch dates. There was no necessity of you arranging in alphabetical order. STOP at once please. For templates also you are creating unnecessary changes. If making changes for articles, then accepted. But you are changing for templates also? This is going beyond limits. Kindly revert back to keeping the orders as per the launch dates but not have the extensions added cause there has been no updates about the extensions. Kindly get this done and avoid changing the templates. Thank you. Sameer2905 (talk) 15:12, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Sameer2905 Let us discuss one issue at a time, my friend. If a particular user has an issue, let him engage in conversation and please do not become a sock puppet, which is a dangerous precedent and can get you blocked.
Wikipedia is an open standard with every user having an equal right to make changes provided it is within the guidelines. Also, try to understand that Wikipedia works on collaborative contribution, improvement and monitoring, has survived like this for years with rules having been developed over the years. So please do not preach boundaries or expect one. My aim here is to maintain a quality and standard of the articles and I had clearly taken the time to explain to you multiple times earlier as well. If you need any clarification or have any other issues, let us keep this conversation open.
In case of the template, Templates are normally used to group a collection of articles related to a topic and is normally sorted based on alphabetical order for easy reference (except time events mentioning date/time) as the whole aim of the template is to access it similar to a directory. While sorting in chronological order makes sense for a table listing all services which can be sorted whichever way required, it does not serve any purpose in a template as it will be difficult to navigate for people trying to find a particular train. For a template, sorting by alphabetical order or by train numbers makes more sense for easy navigation. You can refer to other rail templates internationally as well (e.g. Template:Named Trains of the Southern Railway). Hope you understand the logic of it.
Also, if any other ordering is used, it is better to insert a comment as well mentioning the same, so that people can understand that the ordering is different. The edits the other user account is trying to make is simply make cosmetic changes and not trying to add any value. Magentic Manifestations (talk) 05:31, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hey @Magentic Manifestations,
Please take back your words for that "sock puppet" terms. He was stating this issue to me and I tried to find out the reason for that. I've nothing to do with this. What he stated to me was relatively correct cause he's saying that it should be arranged in the order of their launch dates. I convinced him to keep it as it is. That's it. Thank you. Sameer2905 (talk) 12:37, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Sameer2905 My friend, I was merely pointing it to you to help you so that you would remain cautious while engaging in conversations with other users. Other users might take a different view of things as there is often no proof of conversations that happen outside the purview of Wiki. Hope you understood the logic of the template. As you are involved in a lot of railway related articles, understanding the guidelines will help you create better articles so that it can be taken progressively to a good article. Cheers! Magentic Manifestations (talk) 12:50, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
